Pauline Harriet Risser, 96, of 2115 1st Avenue SE, died there, Friday, October 5, 2007, after a brief illness. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Duane Hix of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday one hour before the service.
She is survived by a special niece and nephew-in-law, Don and Nancy Stone of Charleston, SC and their children, Alexander Stone III, Melissa Crosby, and Virginia Crutchley; and several cousins.
Pauline was born on October 12, 1910 in Marengo to Ira and Nellie Whiteford. She married
George Irwin Risser on November 1, 1943 in Shreveport, LA. He died in 2005. Pauline held a variety of positions at Northwestern Bell before retiring. She taught china painting and had various artistic hobbies. She had been a member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.
A memorial fund has been established.

Jeannie Reid, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died October 1, 2007 in her home following an extended illness. Private Family Graveside services will be held at a later time. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 4 to 6 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years Virgil; daughters Luanne Reid of San Jose, California, and Vicki Seaboalt and husband Blaine of Nashville, TN; her brother Hilmi ?lker of Izmit, Turkey; her sister Sonia Belent and husband Emit of Istanbul, Turkey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister in law Saliha ?lker.
Jeannie Reid was born December 12, 1936 in Soflu, Greece, of Turkish decent, to Salih and Elfide ?lker. At the young age of 5 she immigrated with her family back to Turkey where she spent the majority of her young life. She met Virgil Roy Reid while he was stationed for the United States Air Force. They were married
on December 9, 1956 in Istanbul, Turkey. She immigrated to the United States with Virgil in 1958, and became a United States citizen in 1961, to which she was proud to call herself and American. She enjoyed playing golf and bowling, gardening, being with people, watching the Chicago Cubs, and above all her family. She will forever be remembered as a gourmet cook, and a person who never met a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her dearly.

Rex R. Rohrer, 89, died Tuesday August 7, 2007 in his home from a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial-Westside Chapel by the Rev. William Harnish. Burial: I00F cemetery in Victor. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela and husband Gary; a son, Randall; three grandchildren, Adam and wife, Becky, Stephanie and Sam; and 3 great grandchildren. Kaitlyn, Kenzie, and Khloe.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline.
Rex was born June 16, 1918 in Victor, Iowa and was the son of Charles and Edna Rohrer. He married
Pauline Connell on April 13, 1940 in Iowa City. He and his wife operated Roller Drome Skating Rinks in Cedar Rapids and Marion, and later was involved at Super Skate with his wife, daughter and son-in-law. After retiring from the skating rinks he worked with his son at Ornamental Concrete. He will be remembered by the countless people he met through his life's journey.

Survivors include four daughters, Karen Stanton Buddy of Woodstock, GA, Paula Kohl of Columbia, SC, Teri Darr of Nashville, TN, and Connie Snitker Jerry of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, David Stanton, Justin Kohl, Kati Darr, Kody Darr, Kori Parvin, Jared Snitker, and Jordan Snitker; a great grandson, Caden; two sisters, Wilma Caldwell of Anamosa and Martha Ann Titmus of Boulder City, NV; a brother, Mike Brewer Audrey of Anamosa and a close personal friend, Willis Daugherty of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Dottie, a brother Jack, and a grandson, Coby Connor.

Elmer "Bud" Rouse on April 20, 1948 in Marion. She was the office manager for Mutual Fire and Auto Insurance Company for 31 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Jack W. Ruggles, 82, of 718 4th Avenue SE, died there, Thursday, June 14, 2007, after a long illness. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial ~ Westside Chapel by the Rev. William Harnish. Jack is survived by 2 daughters, Elaine Farquharson of Manchester, England and Debra Ruggles of Kansas; 5 sons, Barry Monahan of Lincoln, NB, Charles, William and Ronald Ruggles of Cedar Rapids, and Timothy Ruggles of Frisco, TX.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David, a daughter Kathy, and a longtime friend Gladys Grapes.
Jack was born October 1, 1924 in Ottumwa to Roy and Lena Stroud Ruggles and was a former member of the Ottumwa American Legion and Ottumwa Eagles Club. He served during WWII in the United States Army in the 102nd Infantry Division, Company L, and the 406th Regiment in Europe.
He had been a cook at the Butterfly Caf?', Old Hickory West, Pine Inn Truck Stop Caf?', Flame Room, Elmcrest Country Club, The Lighthouse, and the Maid Rite.
Military services will be by the American Legion Hanford Post #5.
Memorials may be directed to the family.

Survivors include her husband Robert, mother Marlyce Clair of Vinton, three children Brian Kristi Read of Washington, Iowa, Jennifer Joseph Brokus and Zachariah Brokus all of Cedar Rapids, grandchildren Alexis and Peyton Read, and Raquel Bromberg, a sister Marcia Hunt of Cedar Rapids, and four brothers Frank Clair of Cedar Rapids, Micheal Clair of Idaho, Edwin Clair of Palo, Iowa, and Steve Clair of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph Clair, and Uncle Carl Clair.
Mary was born September 11, 1958 in Waterloo, Iowa. She married
Robert A. Read Jr. on November 11, 1988, in Cedar Rapids. She worked in the office at Read Photography.
Mary enjoyed bowling, and spending time with her family and friends and especially being with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
