Hedwig "Hedy" Rose, 91, of Linn Manor in Marion died there on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006 after a short illness. Services at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. Rev. Timothy Smith will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Monday.
Survivors include two sons, Lyle Sheila of Central City, Dennis Beverly of Golden Colorado, and a daughter, Jackie Rose of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Iehl, an infant son, Milo and 2 grandchildren.
Hedy was born on Feb. 19, 1915 in Waterloo, the daughter of Henry and Sophia Ruschhaupt Wunder. She married
Lonnie M. Rose on April 9, 1939 in Waterloo. He died in 1997. Hedy worked in food service at St. Lukes Hospital for over 15 years, retiring in 1980. She was as member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. Hedy enjoyed yard work, gardening, making quilts and especially time spent with her beloved family. A memorial fund has been established in Hedy's name.

Rondy K. Roy, 66, died in his home Friday, October 13, 2006 following a brief and noble battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and his books. He faced his illness with courage and dignity and gave those of us who knew and loved him a priceless lesson on how to live and how to die. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by The Rev. Thelma J. Hembroff of the Unity Church at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 18th. The family will greet friends from 9:30 AM until the service.
Rondy was born November 26, 1939 in Lewiston, Idaho to Robert and Louise Roy.
He graduated from Clarkston WA High School in 1957. He served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Hawaii for 3 years.
Rondy moved to Iowa in 1963 and attended Coe College, Kirkwood College and the University of Iowa. He married
Carrol Riley in 1964. They later divorced. He married
Babette "Babs" Haggin October 6, 1993.
Rondy worked in the real estate industry, first as a Realtor, then as a Commercial Realtor and Manager for Fred Gibson Realtors, and for the past 20 years as a real estate appraiser. He loved his work and took tremendous pride when his son, Rondy II, joined him in the business. To Rondy's great pleasure, he was able to teach his daughter Ericka the finer points of No Limit Poker. Rondy loved reading, cooking, walleye fishing in Minnesota, Hawkeye football and No Limit Texas Hold-Em Poker. He was a life-long Democrat. Teaching his grandson Alex how to fish and being with him when he caught his first fish in May 2006, was a joy for Rondy. He passed away knowing he had lived his life "to the max!".
Rondy is survived by his wife Babs; son Rondy II of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Ericka Don Ervin of Plano, TX; his stepdaughter, Jo Scoville Donald Rose of Longmont, CO; a stepson, Peter Lori Haggin of Cedar Rapids; and a stepdaughter Sarah Al Hoeger of Cedar Rapids; as well as grandsons Brandon, Troy and Clay Ervin of Plano, TX and Alexander and Ryan Haggin of Cedar Rapids. He was extremely proud of his blended family. Rondy is also survived by sisters Janet Roy and Tammy Sullivan of Seattle, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Judy.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Chirantan Ghosh, an exceptionally caring and generous man, and St. Luke's Hospice for the compassionate and tender care provided to Rondy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials to St. Luke's Hospice be made in Rondy's name.

: Wendy A. Rivinius-Portz, 54, of 6807 42nd St N.E. died in her home on Friday June 23, 2006. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church by Father Dustin Vu. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call on Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Survivors include her husband, Randy Portz, her parents, Melvin and Joyce Rivinius of Fargo, North Dakota, four sisters, Cindy Huovinen and husband David of Cedar Rapids, Vicki Tillman and husband Gerry of Fargo, North Dakota, Tracy Rivinius-Rudish and husband Mike of Whittier, Iowa, and Nancy Rivinius-Ruth and husband Joe of Buffalo, Minnesota, nieces and nephews, Tara, Tanya, Tiana, Melissa, Joseph, David, Adam and Andi, great nieces and nephews, Alex, Ethan, Owen, Travis, Kale, Mitchell, Alex, Madison, Brittney, Sean and Jozie.
Her grandparents, aunts and uncles preceded her in death.
Wendy was born January 24, 1952 in Streeter, North Dakota, the daughter of Melvin and Joyce Useldinger Rivinius. She married
Randy Portz on January 3, 1986 in Cedar Rapids. Wendy graduated from Mt Mercy Collage with a B.A. degree. She was employed with Alliant Energy as Director Executive & Board Compensation for 35 years. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and on the Board of Directors for the Cedar Rapids Symphony. Wendy had a passion for shopping and a great love for animals. Mary was born July 12, 1918 in Alliance, Ohio to Salvatorie and Antonia Marfisi Pusateri. She married
James Wilson in October, 1936 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1948. She then married
Marion Ward Reece on April 28, 1956 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1995. Mary worked for Fuller Brush and Quaker Oats.

Dorothy Rundall, 88, of the West Ridge Care Center died there on Thursday March 13, 2008 after an extended illness. Survivors include three sons, Laurence of Mission, Texas, Duane and Ivan both of Cedar Rapids, three daughters, Mary Pollock and Elizabeth Keleher both of Marion and Beverly Carsner of Sebring, Florida, and one brother, Acie Grisham of Lisbon. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters, and one brother.
Dorothy was born on July 31, 1920 in Fairfax, the daughter of Gordie and Jessie Mahaffey Grisham. She married
Robert B. Rundall on Sept. 26, 1938 in Martell. He died in 1982. Dorothy worked at Collins in the packaging dept. and retired from there after amore than 30 years of service. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and dancing. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and touched many people's lives. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Four Oaks in Dorothy's name. The family would like to give a special thank you to; Dr. Mary Anne Nelson, West Ridge Care Center and to "All of Dorothy's Girls".

William Elton Ross, 89, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Buchanan County Health Center, after a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church, Independence by the Rev. Aloysius Vorwald. Burial: St. John cemetery, Independence. Friends may visit with the family after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter Barbara Tom Cowell of Fairbank; three stepchildren, Colleen Dennis Charkowski of Cedar Rapids, Elaine Bedell of Ridgedale, MO, and Allan Nancy Gremm of Iowa City; two sons-in-law, Jim Murphy of West Union and Dr. Daryl Kathy Chapman of Wilson, NC; and a daughter-in-law, Connie Ross of Strawberry Point; a brother, George Jeane Ross of St. Paul, MN; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, MaDonna; two daughters, Ila Murphy and Shirley Chapman; a son, Paul Ross; two grandchildren, Shane Ross and Heather Murphy; five sisters, Emily, Frances, Audrey, Eloise, and Jane; and a brother, Calvin.
Bill was born on August 5, 1918 in Lamont to William and Anna Bayliss Ross. He married
Vera Fleming in 1941. They were later divorced. He married
MaDonna Gremm on November 28, 1980. She died in 2005. Bill farmed in the Arlington area for many years and then moved to Oelwein and worked for Corn Blossom Meat Packing, retiring in 1983. Bill enjoyed reading westerns, fishing, and telling his stories to all who would listen. He was a generous man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include her son Gary Roloff and wife Marlys of Round Lake, Illinois, her daughter Nancy Stahl and husband Jon of Cedar Rapids, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
Florence was born April 13, 1916 in Delhi, Iowa to Eugene and Frances Speck Meister. She retired from Colonial Bakery after 30 years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Thanks to special caregivers, granddaughter Kimberly Bachman, nieces Rosalie Saylor, and Carol Mitchell, and Hospice of Mercy, for their special care of Florence.
A memorial fund has been established.
