Iszack Talbert Rompot, 2 month old son of Randy Rompot, Jr. and Teresa Carmen, died suddenly Monday, September 22, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Deacon Vernon Rompot, Jr. will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, and after 2:30 PM Saturday at the chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, grandparents Randy Sr. and Margie Rompot, and Eleanor and Mike Earrington; great grandmother Sadie Rompot; great grandfather Dennis Kramer Sr.; aunts and uncles Adam Rife, Dennis Kramer, Jr., Katie Borden, and Angel Carmen; and special family friend Angela Meyer.
Iszack was preceded in death by his great grandfather Vernon Rompot, Sr., and great grandparents, Carolyn Jean Kramer, and Harlan Bray.
Iszack was born July 17, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
A memorial fund has been established in Iszack's honor.

Lorraine A. Roethlisberger, 79, a resident of the Woodlands at the Meth-Wick Community, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Monday.
Survivors include a daughter Anita Plotz and husband Allen, son Randall Roethlisberger and wife Patricia all of Cedar Rapids, and son Dennis Roethlisberger and wife Paula of Charlottesville, Virginia. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Andrea Meder and husband Adam of Cedar Rapids, Alex Plotz and wife Vanessa of Morton Grove, Illinois, Maxwell and Nicole Roethlisberger both of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harvey, and two sons Brian and Neil.
Lorraine was born August 18, 1929 in Cedar Rapids to Charles and Alma Stelcik Leksa. She graduated from McKinley High School and attended The University of Iowa where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She married
Harvey Roethlisberger, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin on April 27, 1950. He passed away in 2004.
Lorraine and Harvey (Loving Hearts) were lifelong members of Hus Presbyterian Church, devoting much of their free time to the church and other community charities. They enjoyed camping, time with family, and dancing with the Merry Mix Dance Club. Lorraine was a long time employee of FMC Corporation, Link Belt Speeder Division, rising to the position of Head Cashier.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Linn County Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Ruth Wilma (Bessman) Roegner, 80, of 87 Joanne Ln. in Hiawatha ended her journey here on earth on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital after a brief illness. Services at 11: 00 AM on Tuesday at Hope United Church of Christ. Rev. Fritz Melberg will officiate. Burial at 3:00 PM on Tuesday at the Pleasant Hill cemetery in Ackley. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Monday and at the Church after 10:00 AM on Tuesday.
Survivors include her children, Gwen (Kevin) Klima of Center Point, Linda (Rich) Reysack of De Witt, Tim (Mary) Roegner of Gurnee, Ill. and Sally (Bill) Brause of Cedar Rapids. her grandchildren, Adam Klima, Barb (Nick) Adams, Kim and Katie Reysack, Brianna, Delaney and Brady Roegner, Amanda and Amy Brause. She is also survived by 7 siblings: Minnie Eddy, Zeal (Martha) Bessman, Eileen Schultz, Brice (Irene) Bessman, Delilah (Merle) Whitmire, Lois (Robert) Moore and Don (Bonnie) Bessman and a sister-in-law, Lorraine (Don) Steffen. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Don, a son David, her parents, George and Marie Bessman and a great grandson Cameron.
Ruth was born on March 19, 1928 in Alden, Iowa. In her youth she moved to Wellsburg. On Nov. 19, 1954 she married
Don Roegner in Ackley. In 1964 they moved their family to Hiawatha where she lived out the rest of her life. Ruth was an active member of Hope United Church of Christ. She worked at Nash Finch before retiring and spent her free time with family, friends, and gambling. She will be loved and missed. A memorial fund has been established in Ruth’s name.
E. Lorraine Rutz

E. Lorraine “Pat” Rutz, 85, of 7225 Linn Benton Road, died at St. Luke’s Hospital, Thursday, November 6, 2008 as a result of double pneumonia. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Atkins, by the Rev. Doug Woltemath. She was cremated. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pat is survived by her husband, Burton; children, Nicolette Rutz of Ames, Mark Rutz of Hutchinson, MN, Lynn Rutz of North Little Rock, AR, and Heather Rutz of Baltimore, MD; and four grandchildren.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Louis Becker.
Pat was born July 28, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Walter and Viola Becker. She studied under Esther Goodwin at the American Conservatory to become a classic concert singer. She was also very accomplished on the violin, piano, and dance. She attended Wright Junior College and Iowa State College where she met and married
her husband, Burton J. Rutz at Memorial Lutheran Church, Ames, on October 16, 1948. They recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Pat and Burton have resided in Cedar Rapids since 1950. Pat worked as a secretary for Westinghouse, Brinks Inc., Helene Curtis, and the Cedar Rapids Gazette. Pat was active in the Sweet Adelines, Bethany Lutheran and Good Shepherd Lutheran Churches.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Central Lutheran School in Newhall.

Savannah Lea Rudin, infant daughter of Jim Rudin and Trish Peckosh-Rudin passed away early Friday morning November 28, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital. Her early unexpected arrival took us by surprise, but not as much as her sudden departure. During her brief stay here she was showered with love and kindness and she made a positive impact on many many people. We will miss our precious little girl but know that she is now an angel that will always be near.
Services at 11:30 AM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10:30 AM on Wednesday. Rev. Brenda Ehret will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her parents, a half brother, Ben Peckosh, grandparents, Joseph and Faith McDonnell of Camanche, and Cordell Rudin of Marion. She is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, and many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her half brother, Beau Peckosh and paternal grandmother, Patricia Rudin. Elizabeth M. “Betty” Rouser 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, December 22, 2008, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services at 1 PM Friday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. David O'Connor of All Saints Catholic Church will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after noon on Friday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include three sisters Lyanda Siglin of Seattle, Mary Jane (Ralph) Rausch, Celine (Virgal) Scholl all of New Hampton, one brother Edward (Shirley) Goebel of Colorado Springs, and a step daughter-in-law Joleen Rouser of Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert in 2003, one brother Gerald, and two sisters Sylvia Gerarden and Irene Goebel, and her step-son Donald Rouser in July 2008
Betty was born on October 5, 1923, in New Hampton, the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth Kuechenburg Goebel. She graduated high school in the Seattle area and worked at Boeing during WW II, before returning to Cedar Rapids and working at Quaker Oats as an office clerk for 36 years. She married
Delbert Rouser on October 8, 1966, in Cedar Rapids. He died October 18, 2003.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, or to All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

Kenneth D. Ritchie, 79 of 10 Green Mountain Dr., Iowa City, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died of Alzheimer’s disease Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at Mercy Iowa City. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Christ Episcopal Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Barbara Schlachter. Friends may call one hour before serve time Friday at the church. Arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy.
Also surviving are his children, Connie J. Smith of Mesa, Ariz., and Pam Hoogerwerf (Mike) of Iowa City; grandchildren, Justin M. and Hayley Lynne Smith, Mesa, Ariz., and Whitney and Trent Hoogerwerf, Iowa City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Lillian; and a son, Craig D. Ritchie of Phoenix.

Dorothy on June 22, 1973. Kenneth was a division sales rep for Wolverine World Wide Shoes and a member of the Ex Club and Elks.
