Boyd L. Wiltsey, 82, of 130 Thompson Dr. SE, died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 in his home following a battle with cancer. Memorial services at 1 PM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Larry Hayward of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. Friends may register at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Saturday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his special friend Pearl Northland of Cedar Rapids, two sons Bruce Wiltsey and wife Sally of Nashville, Tennessee, and Mark Wiltsey of Cedar Rapids, a brother Leonard 'Jack' Wiltsey and wife Erna of Long Island, New York, a sister Dixie Lee Klier of Versailles, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Christine Hall and husband Jim of Memphis, Tennessee, Sonia Wiltsey of Cedar Rapids, Chad Wiltsey of Des Moines, and Nikolas Jiruska of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Ai and George Wiltsey, and sister Ione McBurney. His first wife Bette Botheris Wiltsey died in 1975 and his second wife, Jeanne Keehn Wiltsey died in 1997.
Boyd was born July 11, 1920 in Ute, Iowa to Carl and Anna Tatro Wiltsey.
Boyd served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during WW II. He was a member of Mizpah Masonic Lodge #639, Scottish Rite SRB, a life member of the El Kahir Directors Staff and a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Royal Order of Jesters #139, Elks Lodge #251, and a life member of the Cedar Rapids Kennel Association and the Cedar Valley Boxer Club.
Boyd has requested that instead of flowers memorials be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa or to the charity of your choice.
Joyce Darlene Thompson
Born in Cedar Rapids on May 10, 1927
Departed on February 19, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Joyce Darlene Harrelson Thompson, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Feb, 19, 2010, in St. Luke’s Hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Friends may call starting at 11 a.m. Sunday. There will be no graveside services.
Survivors include her son, John (Penny) McGrew, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and daughters, Janet and Joyce.
Joyce Darlene was born to William and Dennie Harrelson and raised in Cedar Rapids. She was employed at Rockwell Collins for 35 years, retiring in 1986. While employed, Joyce was a dedicated union steward. On May 30 1969, she married
Reede Thompson, he preceded her in death in 1994. She raised her own three children, as well as three granddaughters, Tracy, Shelly and Dee Dee, following the death of their mother, Janet in July 1970. Her family loved to gather at the farm as much as she loved having them. Joyce provided for her family, loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered most for a woman who was never afraid to speak her mind.

Lorraine L. Sparling, 91, died suddenly Friday, April 23, 2004 at Methwick
Woodlands. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28th at
First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Larry Hayward will officiate.
Survivors include a son, George L. Sparling of Arcata, CA; a daughter, Ann Reeser Cuperus-Sparling of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; and two grandchildren, Gijsbert Reeser Cuperus and Philip Reeser Cuperus also of Amsterdam.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Lovatt, and her husband Austin.
Lorraine was born October 10, 1912 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, daughter of John Shaw and Grace Howland Lovatt. She married
Austin Sparling on August 20, 1938 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Lorraine and Austin had lived in Cedar Rapids since 1971. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter HJ. She was a University of Minnesota graduate and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.

Khalil N. Ziadeh, 73, of 1829 5th Ave. SE died Sat. May 28, 2005 at his home after a long illness. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Wed. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate. Burial at St. George cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 9 PM on Tuesday where there will be a vigil service at 7 PM.
Survivors include his wife, Rose of Cedar Rapids, four daughters, May Akouri, Wafah El-Hakim and Sonia Honien all of Chicago, IL. and Ferial Bearden of Nashville, TN., three sons, Pierre of Overland Park, KS., Ramon and Danny both of Cedar Rapids, three sisters, Janette Maloxus, Renee Feesaunty and Sofie Isaad all of Beirut, Lebanon. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Faris.
Khalil was born on March 15, 1932 in Aien-Romaneh, Lebanon, the son of Neemtallah and Matilda Ziadeh. He married
Rose Nassif on Jan. 24, 1958 in Dowra, Lebanon. Khalil was the owner and operator of Ziadeh Construction Co. in Lebanon for 35 years. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Khalil was a very peaceful man; he had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed. A memorial fund has been established in Khalil's name.

Frank J. Sturm, Jr., 74, 2049 Coldstream Ave NE died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at his home following a long illness. Services: 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Surviving in addition to his wife Kathryn; are two daughters, Belinda Rae Scott and husband Jim of Cedar Rapids and Kimberly Kae Anderson and husband Ross of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Raymond Sturm of Shellsburg and Robert Berry of Cooksville, TN; a sister, Harlene Woodson of Cedar Rapids; his step mother, Gladys Sturm of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Brian and fiance Cindy, Chad, and Nick; and a newly found friend, Ike.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Gary.
Frank was born July 24, 1929 in Cedar Rapids the son of Frank Sturm, Sr. and Fern Hess Sturm. He married
Kathryn Rainbolt on February 18, 1950 in Cedar Rapids. He worked for Rockwell Collins for 40 years, retiring in 1993. Frank was a 1947 graduate of Roosevelt High School, and attended Iowa State Teachers College from 1948 to 1950. He was a member of the 1945 State Baseball Champions at Roosevelt, and played for the Butternut Bakers Junior League team from 1945 to 1947. He was the pitcher and outfielder for the M & J League, Wilson and Co., and Iowa Manufacturing from 1947 to 1951. He played semi-professional baseball in 1949 at Breda, Iowa. Following his baseball career, he played fast pitch softball for Cherry Burrell and Ted's Happitime, and slow pitch softball for Hamed's Skelly and A'Hearns Plumbing from 1959 until 1970. Following his retirement he had model trains in his home.

Emlin Henry Stelling, 89, of the Lutheran Home in Vinton, formerly of Atkins, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at Virginia Gay Hospital. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Turner West Funeral Home by the Rev. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery with military rites. Friends may call at Turner West Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
He was born October 9, 1914 in Newhall, to Henry and Margaret Hessenius Stelling. He graduated from Newhall High School, class of 1934. He married
Geraldine Koster on February 21, 1941 in Coe College Chapel, Cedar Rapids. In April 1942 he entered the U.S. Army. He landed in the first wave on Utah Beach on D Day, June 6, 1944 and served his country as medic until the end of WWII, 1945. He received several medals including the Bronze Arrowhead for D Day landing, Silver Star and five Battle Stars. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the Liberation of Paris.
After his discharge from the Army, he attended Iowa State University, Ames, and worked many years in the dairy industry. He later worked 23 years at Sanitation Laboratory, Cedar Rapids, as a technician, retiring January, 1980. After retiring, he served as Treasurer of the Atkins Centennial Committee, charter member of the Atkins Senior Housing Board and served many years on the Atkins Library and Atkins Cable Boards.
He was a member of the Atkins Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church where he served as a trustee and two terms as an elder. He was a member of the Atkins Legion Post # 217 and a member of the National 4th Ivy Infantry Division Association.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Geraldine, of Vinton; a son Terry Stelling and wife Robin, and grandadaughter Sabrina Rose, all of San Rafael, California; and a sister, Georganna Horak and husband Stanley of Waterloo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Earl and Glenn.
John Paul Schirmer

Mary Chrisman on April 27, 1968 in Cedar Rapids. He was the manager of Mays Drugs for over 20 years and retired in 2001. John was a U.S. Marine veteran. John loved to work on cars. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be remembered by all who knew him.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veteran's Medical Center.
