Travis Lee Sigwarth, 25, 3233 Lakeview Drive, Toddville died Monday, July 3, 2006 at his home. Services: 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2PM to 7PM at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate.
Survivors include his parents, Earl and Judy Sigwarth of Toddville; a brother, Trent Sigwarth and his fianc? Amanda Kugley of Coralville; a nephew, Cameron Sigwarth of Coralville; his grandmothers, Marie Sigwarth of Marion and Gen Hall of Cedar Rapids; his best friend, Andrew McLaughlin of Cedar Rapids; two uncles, Richard Sigwarth Christine and Steven Sigwarth both of Cedar Rapids; seven aunts, Marlene Sigwarth, Karen Keenan Ken, Joyce Longerbeam Ron, Judy Mackert Doug and Lynn Sigwarth all of Marion and Pat Anderson and Sheri Yancey both of Cedar Rapids; and several cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ewald Sigwarth and Don "Shorty" Hall, and an uncle Eugene Sigwarth.
Travis was born February 24, 1981 in Cedar Rapids the son of Earl and Judith Hall Sigwarth. He worked as a specialist at APAC Customer Service for nine years. Travis loved golf, fishing, cars, baseball, the Oakland Raiders and the Chicago Bulls. He was an avid softball player. He also loved spending time with his brother Trent and his nephew Cameron. His family will miss his smile, his laughter and his quick wit. He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

Charles "Charlie" E. Shears
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 23, 1949
Departed on June 12, 2006. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Charles Charlie Edwin Shears, 56, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Monday, June 12, 2006. Services: 1 PM Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery at a later date.

Charlie was born July 23, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Mary and Norman French Shears. After a wild and tempestuous youth, 18 years ago he met the love of his life, Mary "Jeannie" Saldana and on October 30, 2004 they were married .

He is survived by his wife, children Summer Adam Tieskoetter, Adam DeWitt, and Josh Shears. His mother Mary Wallace, sister Nancy Yakkey of Niland, CA, and brother Mike Shears. Mother-in-law Maria Saldana, brothers and sisters-in-law, Art and Joyce Saldana of Oswego, IL., Becky and Dan Deal of Burlington, Paul Saldana, Gina Saldana, and Margaret and Dennis Riha all of Cedar Rapids. The twinkle in his eyes were his two special grandchildren Chloe and Noah Tieskoetter, and his special dog and companion Rosie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, brothers John and Steve, his grandmother Olive French, brother-in-law Jim Yakkey, and father-in-law Edward Saldana.

Charlie was a longtime mechanic and NASCAR fan. He was admired for his outspokenness and down to earth attitude. He loved grilling and special times with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Charlie's name.

Larry James Tobin Nesbitt Sr.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on December 28, 1948
Departed on June 18, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Larry James Tobin Nesbitt Sr., 61, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God by Rev. Rick Gail. Interment: Oak Hill cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Connie; children, Fred Tobin Sr., Larry (Michelle) Nesbitt Jr. and Daneen (Johnny) Clark Sr., all of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Steven Tobin of Davenport and Quincy Tobin of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Ryan, Fred Jr. Raelene, Katie, Keegan Tobin, Ambrosia and Alyssa Dixon, and Ashley and Alivia Nesbitt, and Johnny Clark Jr.; great grandchildren, Alexys, Breanna, Hayven, Brooklyn, Hunter, and Alek; mother-in-law, Delores Zerbee; goddaughter, Candy Collins; and aunt, Ilene Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry was born December 28, 1948 in Cedar Rapids to James Nesbitt and Wanda Tobin. He married Connie Zerbee there on June 19, 1970. Larry was a Marine veteran of Vietnam, earning the Purple Heart. He was employed by Sealed Air Cryovac for over 31 years, retiring in 2009. Larry loved to fish, bowl, and barbecue; but most importantly to spend time with his family. He was a member of First Assembly of God where he volunteered in the 4 year old day care and the Welcome Ministry.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Betty Jean Simpson
Born on March 6, 1931

Betty Jean Simpson, 439 Lindale Dr., Marion, went home to be with our Lord, Friday, March 9, 2006 at Manor Care following a three year courageous battle with cancer, Betty was a patient sufferer. . . Services: 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at First Assembly of God. Burial: Mt. Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Monday from 5PM to 8PM. The Rev. Larry Sohn will officiate.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Rodriguez Angela and Ricky Rodriguez both of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Cindy Berg of Las Vegas, NV; three sisters, Cheryl McCallum of MO, Jacque Sovia and Penny Markey both of Mesa, AZ; three brothers, Hugh Simpson Dorothy of Oklahoma City, OK, Larry Simpson Marsha of Cedar Rapids and Steve Simpson Cherri of Texas; four grandchildren, Greg Alan Brown, Ciara Ann Rodriguez, Gabriella Alexa Rodriguez and Zachariah Lee Rodriguez; two great grandchildren, Zach O'Hara and Rio Alan Rodriguez; many nieces, nephews, aunt's and uncle's.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jackie Duane Simpson, a sister, Joan Radloff and a grandson Chaz Alan Rodriguez.
Betty was born March 6, 1931 in Maynard the daughter of Oscar and Marjorie Fauser Simpson. Betty met Robert L. Rodriguez at Danceland, and in 1953 they were married . She worked for the Linn County Health and Human Services department for 16 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and enjoyed the services of the healing room at the church. Betty was the Homecoming Queen for Randalia High School in 1948. She loved garage sale's, going with her friends and her granddaughter Gabriella. Her latest new love was her grandson, Zachariah, especially in the morning when he bubbled with enthusiasm and was a chatter box. Betty loved dancing and being around her family, friends and spending time with her grandchildren. Betty had a mother's unconditional expression of love and compassion for her family, friends and love of life that she walked with Jesus. She will be greatly missed by her sons, her family and friends.
Her family would like to thank special people in Betty's life. Dr. Carwell and staff at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Fusselman and staff at the Iowa Blood and Cancer Center, Zola, Laurie and Brenda at Hospice of St. Luke's, her caregiver Jean, special friends that lived with her, Virginia, Charlene, Beverly and Juanita, her special friends, Polly and Donna, and a special thanks to her son Ricky who made it possible for her to live in her home.
A memorial fund has been established.

Eugene J. White
Born in Osceola, Iowa on June 28, 1924

Eugene J. White, 79, of Heritage Nursing and Rehab died there on Wed. Feb. 18, 2004 after an extended illness. Services with military rites at 11 AM on Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10 AM on Tuesday. Rev. Fran Griffeth will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Park cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, a daughter, Nancy Franey and her husband, Doug of Cedar Rapids, a son, Jeffrey and his friend, Julie Baclene of West Sacramento, CA. and a sister Frances Hobbs of Kellogg. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Lorelei Cairy, Colin and Micaela Franey. He as proceeded in death by four brothers, Paul, Gerald, Wallace and Connie and a sister, Ann Paul.
Gene was born on June 28, 1924 in Osceola, the son of Eugene and Lura Rhone White. He married Evelyn L. Wiklund on April 7, 1946 in Seneca, KA. Gene worked at Dearborn Brass Co. and later retired from Cryovac as an engineer after 10 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post No. 788 and served in the Army Infantry in the Pacific during WWII, receiving the Bronze Star for bravery. Gene was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Evelyn. A memorial fund has been established in Gene's name. Wilmer Dale Uthoff, 81, of Norway, died at home on Friday, March 23, 2007. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church by Pastor David Mosher. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Wilmer is survived by Betty, his wife of 59 years; a niece Ann Dumenil of Phoenix, AZ; and 2 nephews, Tim Zuber of Cedar Rapids, and Terry Zuber of Norway.

He was preceded in death by his sister Lualis Dumenil.

Wilmer was born on May 29, 1925 in Norway to William and Gladys See Uthoff. Wilmer married Betty Possehl in Newhall on April 29, 1948. He farmed in the Norway area until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church.
