Sybil E. Simonds, 93, of Cedar Rapids died of an extended illness on Sunday December 26, 2010, at The Meth-Wick Community.
Sybil is survived by two sisters, Beatrice Cocking of Marion and Ruth Hayes of Cedar Rapids; one sister-in-law, Catherine Hayward; many nieces and nephews; and several long time friends.
Sybil was born September 16, 1917, in Hale Township, IA the daughter of Joseph and Augusta Hayward. Sybil married
William Arlo Simonds on November 3, 1942 in Lakeland, FL.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arlo, her parents and three brothers; James, Ray and Marvin Hayward and sister-in-law Therese Margot Hayward.
Sybil was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. No services are planned.

Kenneth R. York, 71, of 1680 Hillview Dr., Marion, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 1, 2003, in his home. Services 10 AM Monday in First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Timothy Carter and Rev. Forrest Whitlatch will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday and at the Church after 9:30 AM on Monday.
Survivors include his wife Gwendolyn, a daughter LaDonna Delling and husband Dave of Oklahoma City, Okla., two sons Frank York and wife Rhonda of Pella, Iowa, and Kenneth L. York and wife Debby of Cedar Rapids, three sisters Minnie Underwood and Valere Shepherd both of Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Alma Whitlow of Modesto, California, and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Marvin, David, Jodie, and Chester.
Kenneth was born October 29, 1931 in Array, New Mexico, to John and Bessie Barker York. He married
Gwendolyn G. Lea on May 1, 1953 in Pueblo, Colorado. Ken worked as an accountant at Rockwell-Collins retiring in 1995. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1960 and served with the US Army during the Korean War.
In life Ken was a loving husband and devoted father. His contagious spirit of love and zeal for adventure will always be remembered by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends as he embarks on the greatest adventure of all-eternal life in the presence of his Saviour.

Reginald G. Touro, 96, of Northbrook Manor Care Center, formerly of 3927 Redbud Rd. N.E., died April 4, 2006 following a short illness. Services 11 AM Friday at Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church. Rev. Duane Hix will officiate. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 PM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years Vera; sons Ken Linda Touro of Marion, and Don Becky Touro of Goodlettsville, TN.; daughters Darlene Schrimper of Cedar Rapids, and Doris Joseph Masterson of Brown Deer, WI; and sister Faye Frietag of North Highlands, CA. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eloise Sorenson; brothers Lyle Touro, and Wayne Touro; grandson Michael Schrimper; son-in-law John W. Schrimper; and twin infant great-grandsons Brady and Aaron Touro.
Reginald G. Touro was born September 22, 1909 in Marion, son of George R. and Mabel L. Benson Touro. He established and ran Maico Hearing Service and retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church since 1946 where he and his wife were charter members of the Mariner's Club.

Albert H. Tognetti, 74, of Marion, died June 15, 2006 following a short illness. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home where Military Rites will be held at 11 AM. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post # 5. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years Betty, son Nat Tognetti and wife Sharon of Ankeny, Iowa, daughter Linda Lamb of Dothan, AL, and half brother Jack Tognetti of California. Also surviving are grandchildren Sean and Tyler of Des Moines and Heather of Dothan, AL and Bryan of Florida.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents.
Albert Harry Tognetti was born July 20, 1931 in Salinas, CA the beloved son of Costantino and Beatrice Tosoni Tognetti. He was united in marriage to Betty Jane Nichols on October 17, 1954 in Milton, Fl. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy in electronics from 1949 to 1969, where he was in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After retirement from the Navy, he was employed by Rockwell Collins for 18 years. He was greatly interested by computers and his family genealogy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

Pauline L. Tschirgi, 91, a resident of Bickford Cottage in Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at Bickford Cottage following a long illness. Services at 11 AM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. J. Richard Ernst will officiate. Entombment in Mt. Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Monday.
Survivors include her daughter Pamela Lorenzen and husband Garen, two grandchildren, Heather Hefflefinger and husband Thomas, Chad Lorenzen, a great granddaughter Alyssa Hefflefinger, all of Olin, her sister Virginia Brees of Cedar Rapids, her brother Laurence Brees of Cambridge City, Indiana, nieces and nephews.
Pauline was born February 7, 1915 in Iowa City. She married
Arnold J. Tschirgi on July 23, 1938 in Cedar Rapids. He died January 1, 1997. Pauline worked in the China Department at Armstrong's Department Store for 23 years, and in the Kitchen at Washington High School for several years. She was a member of St. Anne's circle at All Saints Catholic Church, and also a member of Cedar Rapids Women's Club, Hanford American Legion Post No 5 Auxiliary, and Armstrong's retirees. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and dearly loved children especially her great granddaughter Alyssa..

Survivors include son Frank "Steve" Turner III of Cedar Rapids, brother James Solem of Cedar Rapids, brother Robert Solem and wife Marcia of Pheonix, AZ, sister Georgene Squires and husband Gary of Mesa, AZ, sister Marie Mara and husband Richard of Deltona, FL, and sister Linda Prior and husband Jeff of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ashleigh, Arianna, Amanda; as well as 15 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Judith Ann Turner was born June 13, 1949 in Cedar Rapids the beloved daughter of George and Clara Hartgrave Solem. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
