ANDORF, MINNIE (MUDDERMAN) was born November 29, 1931, at Stout, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Bena (Raske) Mudderman. She married George A. Andorf December 20, 1952, near Grundy Center, Iowa. He preceded her in death August 22, 1987. She married Jack Bellis May 31, 1997 and he preceded her in death September 4, 2000. Minnie worked for Wal Mart as a greeter for fourteen years. She died Saturday, August 14, 2004, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa, at the age of 72 years.
Minnie is survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Jon) O’Neall of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three sons, Dale E. (Cathy) Andorf of Columbus, Ohio, Danny (Debra) Andorf of Reinbeck, Iowa and Paul (Jeaneen) Andorf of Bettendorf, Iowa; one step son, Jeff Bellis of Des Moines, Iowa; one step daughter, Deb (Greg) Reese of Council Bluffs, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Amy, Brandon and Ashley O’Neall, Jason Choates and Josh Andorf, Elaine and Abbigail Andorf; two step grandchildsons, Nick and Chris Reese; one great grandchild, Parker Choates; two step great grandchildren, McKenna and Peyton Reese; one brother, Harlen (Bev) Mudderman of Palestine, Texas; three step brothers, Bill (Nancy) Bird of Hudson, Iowa, Ronnie (Georgiana) Bird of LeRoy, Minnesota and Russell Bird of Buckeye, Arizona: one sister, Wilma (Virgil) Bahlman of Tripoli, Iowa and one step sister, Donna Schoelberl of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Minnie was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents and one son James Andorf.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial in Reinbeck Cemetery, Memorials may be directed to the family.

ANDREASSEN, HELEN A. was born May 23, 1913, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence Blain and Nellie May (Eldridge) Stephens. She married Alfred Andreassen on September 7, 1933 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1974. Helen died Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, at 87 years of age.
She is survived by her three sons, Terry D. Andreassen of Waterloo, Larry S. Andreassen of Harpers Ferry, Iowa and Donald G. Andreassen of Urbandale, Iowa; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a brother, Glenn W. Stephens and four sisters, Gladys M. Johnson, Mabel Beard, Hattie Christy and Alma Dray.
Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2001, at First Lutheran Church, with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.

ANDREESSEN, STEVEN E. , 53, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, August 5, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. He was born March 27, 1951, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Edward and Marian (Neber) Andreessen. Steven received Christ in his life on February 13, 1962. He was a Produce Manager at HyVee.
Steven is survived by two daughters, Lindsey (Patrick) Anderson of Ballwin, Missouri and Kerry (Dan) Strait of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one granddaughter, Madison Strait; his mother, Marian Andreessen of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one brother, Dennis Andreessen of West Des Moines, Iowa and one sister, Colleen (Ron) Wessels of Parkersburg, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father on April 26, 1972.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford, Iowa. A memorial fund will be established.

ANWAY, MARY EMMA (FOX), age 76, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls after a long struggle with cancer. She was born March 6, 1928 in Stanley, Iowa the daughter of Frank & Theresa (Friedrich) Fox. She married Leo Anway on June 2, 1946 in Fairbank, Iowa. She was a graduate of Fairbank High School and was a homemaker and musician. She was a member of Finchford Community Bible Church and a ladies bible study in Cedar Falls.
Survivors include her husband, Leo, of Cedar Falls; son and daughter-in-law Al & Vickie Anway and grandsons, Doug and Jeff, all of Roanoke, Virginia; daughter Sharon Anway of Cedar Falls; son, Galen Anway of Cedar Falls; sister, Velma Padget of Waterloo; and brother and sister-in-law, Bernard & Marlyn Fox of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Anna & Ray Dallenbach; sister and brother-in-law, Emily & Leslie DeHart; and brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth & Martha Fox.
Funeral services were 10:30 Friday, October 8, 2004 at Finchford Community Church with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the church. A luncheon was served at the church following the committal service with an acoustic jam session following the luncheon.

APERANS, PHYLLIS ANN was born August 26, 1938 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Lyra (Steggall) Pepin. She married Janis Aperans on October 19, 1956 in Cedar Falls. Phyllis died Sunday, March 16, 2003 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, at 64 years of age.
She is survived by her husband, Janis, of Cedar Falls; four sons, John (Marsha) Aperans of Albuquerque, New Mexico, James (Pamela) Aperans of Crossville, Tennessee, Jeorge Aperans of Cedar Falls and Jerold (Susan) Aperans of Fairfield, California; a daughter, Tania (Hamid) Sagha of Waterloo, Iowa; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a brother, Donald D. (Joan) Pepin of Janesville, Iowa.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services were 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 21 at Nazareth Lutheran Church Chapel. Inurnment will be at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.

ARENDS, GRANT , 89, of Cedar Falls died at home on Sunday, February 29, 2004. He was born October 25, 1914 near Parkersburg, Grundy County, Iowa, the son of Peter and Grace (Hook) Arends. Grant married Lucille Handshaker on December 20, 1944 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He served with the U.S. Army during WW II and was Sales Manager at Tate Cadillac-Olds-Honda in Waterloo, Iowa, retiring in 1982. Grant was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls and the American Legion Post 237 in Cedar Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Lennette (Mike) Perigo of Cedar Falls and Cynthia (Rick) Noah of Charles City, Iowa; four granddaughters, Breanna Hennessy, Noelle, Erica and Kelsey Noah, and two sisters, Irene Bird of Waterloo and Ruth Cessna of Rockford, Illinois.
Grant was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Merle Arends and one sister, Violet Armstrong.
Memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, at First Presbyterian Church with private inurnment at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Aurand, Douglas LaVerne , 74, of Waterloo died Monday, February 5, 2001 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes. He was born January 8, 1927 in Maquoketa, Iowa the son of Carl and Bessie (Tracy) Aurand. Mr. Aurand served in the United States Navy on an Underwater Demolition Team during WWII. He married Helen Mallas February 26, 1950 in Boone, Iowa. He was employed with John Deere for 21 years retiring in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, Waterloo, Iowa; one son, Samuel L. Aurand, Greene, Iowa; three daughters, Linda M. Martin, Waterloo, Debra A. Hanson, El Dorado Hills, California, and Julie A. Hobert, Evansdale, Iowa; two grandchildren and one brother, Mike Aurand, Boone, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy.
Family directed memorial services were 12:30 p.m. and military rites at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2001 at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4616 Cedar Heights Dr., Cedar Falls. Military rites were conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Memorials may be given to Cedar Valley Hospice.

BADERSCHNEIDER, LAVINA E. was born December 7, 1906 near Klinger, Iowa the daughter of Carl and Kate (Neumann) Matthias. She married Ted Baderschneider on June 27, 1929 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Klinger, Iowa. They worked at the Klinger general store for 10 years then bought their own store at New Hartford and operated it for 11 years. After selling the store, Lavina became a full-time homemaker. Later, she and Ted moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, becoming members of St. John’s Lutheran Church. There Lavina served on the altar guild. Ted preceded Lavina in death on October 2, 1974. She continued living at their home on Ellen St. until moving to the Lutheran Home in December of 1999. Lavina died Monday, August 14, 2000 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, at 93 years of age.
She is survived by her son, Pastor Victor Baderschneider of Mahomet, Illinois; two daughters, Wera B. Gahre of Fontana, California and Edith B. Liesener of Silver Springs, Maryland; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother, Vernon Matthias of Readlyn, Iowa.
Lavina is preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers, Fred, Ora and Clarence Matthias.
Funeral services were Saturday, August 19, 2000, at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church or Christian Crusaders.

BAERWALD, DORIS M. , 93, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center. Doris was born October 15, 1910 at Tripoli, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Alma (Mahlstedt) Guhlow. She married Harry Parson in 1927. He preceded her in death in 1950. Doris married Warner “Doc” Baerwald on December 2, 1961. He died May 19, 1968. Doris was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls and was an avid volunteer with many local organizations.
She is survived by her three daughters, Maxine (Bernard) Evers of Coggon, Iowa, Mary Jean “Gina” Cord of San Diego, California and Gloria Erickson of Butte, Montana; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a step-son, Dean Baerwald of Missouri; two step-daughters, Karen Carlo of Cedar Falls and Marcia Carroll of Missouri, and three brothers, Junior (Myrna) White of Cedar Falls, Anson (Marge) White of Waterloo, Iowa and Virgil (Bobbie) White of Kimberling City, Missouri.
Doris was preceded in death by her two husbands and parents; her son, Harry Parson; her step-father, Harry White; four sisters, Eva White, Elnora Schmidt, Vera Ingersoll and Shirley Caulkins, and three brothers, Kenneth, Jim and Ellis White.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2004, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery, rural Nashua, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 1, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Christian Crusaders.

BAKER, MARGARET ANNA , 100, died Sunday, February 15, 2004, at the Western Home Communities Stanard Family Assisted Living Center in Cedar Falls. She was born May 30, 1903 in Washington Township, Iowa, the daughter of John and Hettie (Ford) Morgan. Margaret married Rodney Baker on June 2, 1928 in Manchester, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1969. Margaret taught piano for 71 years and was a member of the Northeast Area Music Teachers Association. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 70 years, where she taught Sunday School, was a charter member of the Boardman Boosters, played the piano and organ and sang in the choir. Margaret enjoyed knitting and made beautiful quilts for her family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Dean Baker of Newton, Iowa and J. Edward Baker of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Julie (Brian) Kingery of Gresham, Oregon and Chad Baker (fiancée Jana Ware) of West Des Moines, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Brett, Lauren and Andrew Kingery; and a brother, Paul (Irene) Morgan of Cedar Falls.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband and parents; three sisters, Eva Varco, Irma Baskins and Alice Pattee Pelley and a brother, Roger Morgan.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, with intermenty at Washington Chapel Cemetery in rural Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the church, Cedar Valley Hospice or the Western Home Communities.

BANDFIELD, LLOYD was born March 5, 1931 in Waterloo, Iowa. the son of John and Mae (Smith) Bandfield. He worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing from 1958 to 1972. He then was self employed at the L. and E. Broom Factory in Dinsdale, Iowa, retiring in 1984. He married Esther Christensen October 31, 1951 in Waterloo, Iowa. Lloyd died Friday, March 23, 2001 at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa at the age of 70.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Esther of Reinbeck, Iowa, six sons and daughters; Marcia Meyer of Cedar Falls, Iowa, John Bandfield and Bill Bandfield both of Dinsdale, Iowa, Tracy Bandfield of Moberly, Mo., Lisa Bandfield and Melisa Wood both Dinsdale, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, Brad, T. J., Jason, Shane, Trisha, Dawn, Michael, Christina , Taylor, Madison and McKenzie and one great grandchild, Mikaela; three brothers, William Bandfield of Dunkerton, Iowa, John Bandfield of Biggers, Arkansas and Lyle Bandfield of Fairfield, Arkansas; one sister, Evelyn Lamfers of Evansdale, Iowa. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ricky Bandfield, one granddaughter, Carrie Bandfield, two brothers, Robert and Donald Bandfield; two sisters, Harriet Mellen and Virginia Bandfield.
Services were 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2001 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the family.

BARNARD, ALLAN A. was born April 13, 1944 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of G. A. “Art” and Ella Rabe (Fredricksen) Barnard. He married Sharyn K. Riter on November 8, 1964 in Cedar Falls. Allan was a corrosion technician for 28 years with Cedar Falls Utilities. He was very active with BMX Bicycle Moto Cross and was a custom car enthusiast. Allan died Thursday, January 9, 2003, at his home in Cedar Falls, at 58 years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Sharyn, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Travis Barnard and his wife Anji and Sgt. Timothy Barnard and his wife Sara, all of Cedar Falls; his mother, Ella Barnard, of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Diane Weissman and her husband Wes, of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Allan was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2003, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.

BAUER, DOROTHEA J. was born September 12, 1909 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Jennie (Vaughn) Grosse. She married Edward J. Bauer on June 7, 1933 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1988. Dorothea was a former schoolteacher, homemaker and farmer’s wife. She died Sunday, January 5, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare Center in Tupelo, Mississippi, at 93 years of age.
Dorothea is survived by her son, Larry E. Bauer and his wife Bonnie ,of Tupelo, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Allan and Michael Bauer; three step-grandchildren, Jessica Arendt, Rusty Smith and Chris Smith; two great-grandchildren, Scout and Ryan Bauer; ten step-great-grandchildren, Jordon, Hannah, Madison, Marie, Ericka, Chapman, Austin, Whitney Reed and Brody, and a brother, Albert Grosse of Cedar Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a sister, Eva Osborne and two brothers, Irvin and Andrew Grosse.
Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls with burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Dike, Iowa. A memorial fund will be established.
