C. R. "Dick" Zieke, 85, of 2131 First Ave SE, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, at the Health Center at Cottage Grove, following a long illness. Memorial services will be held at the Cedar Rapids YMCA, 207 7th Ave SE, on Monday May 12, 2008, at 2:30 PM. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment at Oak Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include one son, Steven Beth of Caledonia, MN., two daughters Susan Pam of Spooner, WI., and Lee Lindsay of Decorah, and a sister Betty Jo Hardies of Las Vegas, NV. Also survived by two grandchildren, Margaret and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean, son Charles Richard Zieke Jr., and two brothers F. G. Zieke Jr. and Robert P. Zieke.

Dick was born December 9, 1922 in Storm Lake, Iowa to Franklin G. and S. Frances Smoot Zieke. He married Jean Morris on February 15, 1945 in Cedar Rapids. She died March 15, 2008.

Dick was a graduate of McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids, and the University of Iowa. He served with the Navy Air Corps during WW II, and owned and operated Morris Bookkeeping Service until retirement.

Dick was a lifetime member of the Cedar Rapids YMCA where he played handball for many years. He was an active volunteer at Camp Wapsie Y, and participated in Family Camp for over 40 years. His joy in life was spending time with family and friends. Dick was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Memorial donations may be made to Camp Wapsie Y in care of the Cedar Rapids YMCA.

Janet Coquillette Wray
Born in Cedar Rapids, IA on February 19, 1916
Departed on April 23, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Janet Coquillette Wray, 88, of Cottage Grove Place, died at Mercy Medical Center Thursday, April 23, 2004 after a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Turner East Funeral Home & Crematory by the Rev. Herbert Isenberg of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Private Burial: Oak Hill cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Daniel Wray of Marion; a grandson and his wife, Robert and Angelina Davis of Marion; and a granddaughter Angela Davis..

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Davis and a brother James Coquillette.

Janet was born February 19, 1916 in Cedar Rapids to St. Elmo and Bernice Grout Coquillette. She graduated with an A.A. degree from Stephens College in Columbia MOand a B.A. from the University of Iowa. She married Robert S. Wray on July 15, 1939 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1995.

Janet was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Junior League since 1937, the PI PHI Sorority since 1936, PEO Chapter I H, AAUW, and the Cedar Rapids Country Club.

Morse Malcolm Tibbits
Born in Rock Falls, Iowa on July 8, 1928

Morse M. Tibbits, 80, of 145 Robinwood Drive, Robins, died January 26, 2009 in his home following an extended illness. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Faith Bible Church, Robins. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Shiloh cemetery, Hiawatha.

Survivors include his wife Beverly; daughter Debra K. Takatsuka and husband Alan of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; daughter-in-law Joni Tibbits of Robins; grandchildren Lisa M. (Brandon) Kepner and Benjamin Tibbits, all of Cedar Rapids, Ryan Y. Takatsuka of Ft. Dodge, and Kai N. Takatsuka of Minneapolis, MN; special niece Dakota Eckhard of Oakland, CA; great grandchildren Bronson W. and Alexis Kepner; and sister Ida Rose Scholl of Rockwell, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Fred R. Tibbits, grandson Brandon W. Tibbits, and brother Roger Tibbits.

Morse Malcolm Tibbits was born July 8, 1928 in Rock Falls, Iowa the son of George M. and Helen E. (Morse) Tibbits. He served his country honorably in the United States Army as an MP, and also in the Merchant Marine. He was united in marriage to Beverly J. Norcross on July 12, 1947 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He was a member of the Local IBEW # 405, for over 55 years. During his last 26 years he worked for Munson Electric at Collins Radio retiring in 1990. He served as Robins Town Marshall, Electrical Inspector for 20 years, and the first Fire Chief of the city. He was a member of Marion American Legion # 298, Cedar Rapids Emmaus Community, and attended Faith Bible Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and the joys brought by little children.

Memorial donations in Morse’s honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

John R. Zahn
Born in Benton County, IA. on August 11, 1920
Departed on June 12, 2003. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

John R. Zahn, 82, of 2305 Glacier Street SW died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at his home after a long illness. Services at 10 AM on Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Rev. Steven Rosonke will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery where there will also be military rites. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 6 PM on Sunday where there will be a vigil service at 5 PM.
Survivors include his wife, Doris, two sons, William and his wife, Mary of Cedar Rapids, Rocky and his wife, Nancy of Amana, three daughters, Ruth Zahn of Vinton, Jeanette Hiser of Fountain, CO. and Penny Ackerman and husband Richard of Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Mary Evens and husband, Pearl of Urbana, Lavone Lee and husband, Bob of Vinton, Mardell Lint and husband, Stanley of Shellsburg, Hazel Rublock and husband, Harry of Vinton; three brothers, C. Lavern and wife, Esther of Grandview, WA., Walter and his wife, Sandy of Shellsburg and Paul and his wife, Mike of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mable Franks, his parents, two brothers, Oliver and Albert and four sisters, Ruth Zahn, Dorothy Zahn, Marie Anglin and Lois Lee and a grandson, Benjamin Ackerman.
John was born on Aug. 11, 1920 in Benton County, the son of John and Verna Rambo Zahn. He married Doris J. Martin on June 6, 1948 in Center Point. John was a 30-year veteran of the Army and Army Reserve, retiring in 1985. He later worked in the plumbing business in Cedar Rapids and retired from the Iowa Men's Reformatory Maintenance Dept. in Anamosa after 13 years of service. He was received by Christ at All Saints Catholic Church in 1989 and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church since 1998. He was also a member of VFW Post No. 788 and the Marion American Legion Post No. 298. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. A memorial fund has been established in John's name.

Aziza S. Wendt
Born in Germersheim, Germany on October 22, 1954
Departed on June 18, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Aziza S. Wendt, 49, of 3610 Yellow Pine Dr. NE, went to be with our Lord on Friday, June 18, 2004, in University Hospital in Iowa City, following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Monday in Oakland Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Jerry Hill and Rev. Paul Miller will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday and at the church after 12:30 PM on Monday.
Survivors include her husband Mark, a daughter Blair of the home, her parents, Walter and Lydia Baumann, two sisters Manuela Rummele and Kerstin Saltzer, and half sisters Sylvia, and a half brother Rudiger Baumann, all of Germany.
Aziza was born October 22, 1954 in Germersheim, Germany. She married Mark Wendt on July 4, 1975 in Germersheim.
Aziza was a homemaker and active member of Oakland Church of the Nazarene.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Oakland Church of the Nazarene, 3000 42nd St. NE, Cedar Rapids, Ia. 52402.

Tyler Nathan Toll
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 3, 1990
Departed on February 10, 2009. Resided in Robins, Iowa.

Service: Friday, February 13, 2009
Tyler Nathan Toll, 18, of 500 Camelot Place, died February 10, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital from injuries following a car accident. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, February 13, 2009 at Cedar Valley Bible Church. Pastor Tristan Guthrie will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cedar Valley Bible Church. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his parents Wendy and Todd, brother Devin, and sister Chelsea all of Robins; grandmother Nancy Toll, grandparents William and Sally Schaab all of Cedar Rapids; great grandmother Betty Oser of Scottsdale, AZ; uncle Judd Toll of Cedar Rapids; aunts Kim Ward of Cedar Rapids, Michelle (Michael) Zika of Marion, and Sonya (Patrick) Hughes of Shakopee, MN. He is also survived by 9 cousins, 5 great aunts and uncles, and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather William Toll, maternal great-grandfather Leo (Bud) Oser, and his beloved dog Dalab.

Tyler Nathan Toll was born July 3, 1990 in Cedar Rapids, at Mercy Medical Center, the son of Todd W. and Wendy S. (Schaab) Toll. He was a student at Cedar Valley Christian School, and was in his final year, set to graduate in May. He was involved in many youth groups, drama productions, and enjoyed attending and cheering on the sports teams at his school. He also volunteered throughout the community, and will be remembered for his heart to serve others. He also had a great enjoyment of cars. Tyler will forever be remembered for his contagious smile and his loving personality.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the memorial fund established in Tyler’s name.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Marion Police Department, St. Luke’s Hospital, and Cedar Valley Christian School.
