Lois Louise Tone, 77, of 3753 Elmwood Dr. NE, died Friday, June 26, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital following a long illness. Services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Tuesday.

Surviving to honor her memory are her husband of 56 years Maurice, two sons Mark (Susan) Tone of Naperville, Illinois, and Shawn (Katherine) Tone of Cedar Rapids three grandchildren, Brandon Tone of Naperville, Illinois, and Austin and Annaleise Tone of Cedar Rapids, two sisters Marilyn (Everette) Haroldson of Cedar Rapids, and Linda (Dean) Wieditz of Vinton, and a brother Bob of Vinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters Betty Fabor, and Phyllis Strong.

Lois was born July 8, 1931 in Dysart, Iowa to Clarence and Doris Stein Fabor. She married Maurice B. Tone on June 6, 1953 in Vinton, Iowa. She was a beautician and homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.

Richard C. Taylor
Born in Lehigh, IA on January 25, 1925
Departed on July 14, 2009. Resided in St. Charles (formerly of Cedar Rapids), IL.

Richard C. Taylor, 84, of St. Charles, IL and formerly of 4100 Hickory Hill Lane SE Cedar Rapids died Tuesday July 14, 2009 in Bloomingdale, IL. Graveside services will be held 3 PM Monday July 20, 2009 at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM to 3 PM Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Richard is survived by two sons, Scott (Linda) Taylor of Zwingle, IA and Ric (Jody) Taylor of St. Charles, IL and a daughter Laurie (Blair) Bryant of Seattle, WA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. His wife Pat, a son Gregg, and his parents preceded him in death.

Richard was born January 25, 1925 in Lehigh, IA to Alex and Thelma Taylor. He served in WWII as a B-17 pilot with the 388th Bombardment Group and was stationed in Knettishall England. He was involved in the humanitarian food drops over Holland at the end of the war. He worked as a manufacturing rep and later owned Dick Taylor Sales. He married Patricia Ann Seymour February 6, 1949 in Iowa City.

Clyde C. Tramutolo
Born in Phoenix, Arizona on June 11, 1937
Departed on August 2, 2009. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Clyde C. Tramutolo, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died at Mercy Medical Center, Sunday, August 2, 2009. Celebration of Life Service: 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 610 – 31st Street SE, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Mark Kukkonen and Rev. Steven Papnkuk. Inurnment: Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, Iowa. Arrangements are entrusted to the Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Leona “Lee”; daughter, Ann and her husband, Roy Parker and their daughters, Kayle and Mallory, all of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; and three sisters.

Clyde was born June 11, 1937 in Phoenix, AZ to Gerado and Mario Tramutolo. They moved to Arvada, CO and graduated from Arvada High School. Clyde entered the US Coast Guard from 1957 to 1977. He married Lee on November 2, 1963 in Bettendorf. He was employed by Hartford Steam Boiler Company, retiring in 1995.

Clyde was a member of the American Legion.

Clyde will be remembered for his story telling and jokes.

Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church or the Diabetes Association.

Rose Mary Vojt

Rose Mary Vojt, 94, of Hilltop Manor died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at her home following a brief illness. Services: 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment: Mt. Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday from 3PM to 6PM. The Rev. James Brokman will officiate.
Survivors include seven daughters, Gail Eklind of Williamsburg, VA, Carolyn Cook of Marion, Joyce Kemp of Smithfield, NC, Rosemary Leesekamp of Anamosa, Joanne Vogel of Hiawatha, Rebecca Guyer of Kansas City, MO, Mary Patricia Carroll of Hiawatha; a son, Tim Vojt of Columbus, OH; 36 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and beloved sons-in-law, Vernon Cook, Raymond Leesekamp, and Philip Vogel; and a beloved daughter-in-law, Lorraine Vojt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, a son-in-law Ron Eklind, five sisters and one brother.
Rose was born March 8, 1913 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Joseph and Prudence Arrigo Rizzio. She married Fred Vojt on September 20, 1932 in Cedar Rapids. Rose was a member of the Ladies Circle at St. Matthews, the American Business Women's Club, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, St. Pius X Catholic Church, and was an active participant in the Country Stepper's Dance Company for over a dozen years. She was a regular at the Hiawatha Senior Center and had many friends at Hilltop Manor where she resided until her death. Rose was that rare person who always saw the good in everyone and who started each day with a smile. She brought joy to all those with whom she came in contact. She loved dancing, cooking, bowling, gardening, doing puzzles and being with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of donor's choice.

Eleanor Furnish Wihlfehrt

Eleanor Furnish Wihlfehrt 85, of Clinton, Louisiana, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003, in a Nursing Center in Clinton, Louisiana, following a short illness. Services at 3 PM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Bev Thompson-Travis will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 2 PM on Tuesday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include four sons Thomas Furnish Jr. and wife Juanita of Cedar Rapids, James Furnish and wife Lenora of California, Charles Furnish of Colorado, and Randy Furnish of Arizona, a daughter Judy Andrews and husband Carl of Clinton, Louisiana, three brothers Floyd Rowden and wife Dorothy of Cedar Rapids, Bill Rowden and wife Helen of Shellsburg, Iowa, and Fred Rowden and wife Martha of Indiana, two sisters Ellen Sacora and husband Keith of Marion, and Betty Neste and husband Dale of Decorah, Iowa, 13 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son Billie a daughter Lucinda, a sister Rosie, and two brothers Don and Leo Rowden.
Eleanor was born July 12, 1918 in Cedar Rapids to Roy and Vina Long Rowden. She married Thomas E. Furnish Sr. on September 15, 1937 in Center Point, Iowa. He died in 1973. She later married Irv Wihlfehrt who died in 1998.
Eleanor enjoyed painting and especially spending time with all her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joyce Ann Vaughn
Born in Wapello County, Iowa on February 10, 1940
Departed on December 1, 2006. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Joyce A. Vaughn, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died December 1, 2006 in her home following a brief illness. Services 3 PM Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Friends may call Monday from 2 PM until time of service. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Survivors include son Tony Vaughn and wife Cindy, son James L. Paris and wife Kim all of Cedar Rapids, and daughter Roxanne Bekaert and husband David of Omaha, Nebraska, sister Lois Laughlin of Eldon, and daughter in law Pam Vaughn of North Liberty. She is also survived by her 8 beloved grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John W. Vaughn, sons Dennis J. Vaughn, John M. Vaughn, and Hal Vaughn.

Joyce Ann Vaughn was born February 10, 1940 in Wapello County, Iowa the beloved daughter of Beryl A. and Alice L Schaffer Fite. She married John W. Vaughn on March 25, 1971 in Moline, IL. The greatest joy in her life was her grandchildren which she loved so dearly. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

James W. Young
Born on February 13, 1932
Departed on September 25, 2007. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

James W. Young, 75, 4430 Westchester Dr. NE died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a sudden illness. Funeral Mass: 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. The Rev. Donald Klein will officiate.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 49 years, Tootie are four children, Jeff Young Tonya of Green Bay, WI, Jonathan Young of San Francisco, CA, Missy Young Perry Jack of Dellwood, MN and Martha Young Rome Erick of Savage, MN; eight grandchildren, Mitchell, Carly, Eddie, Tim, Greg, Elizabeth, Eli and Maya; a brother, Dennis Young Rene of Moline, IL; and two nieces, Whitney and Amanda.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
James was born February 13, 1932 in Waterloo the son of Wesley H. and Emma K. Lebeda Young. He married Mary M. Bahl on September 6, 1958 in Waterloo. James was the owner of Young Broadcasting Co, broadcasting Christian radio to eastern Iowa. He was a member of the Friday Morning Men's Group, loved golf, fishing and going to Canada to see all of the snowbirds. He loved his grandkids and would do anything for them. James wintered in Florida, loved God and you could tell that God loved him. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Pius X Parish or to Northern Voices, an oral school for the deaf, of Roseville, MN. at northernvoices.org.
