John Earl Wise II, of Cedar Rapids died May 14, 2007 in his home following a sudden illness. Memorial Services 1 PM Saturday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. William B. Harnish will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Friday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Jodi Wise; his sons Zakk and Quinn Wise and their mother Carrie Haddad all of Cedar Rapids; mother Pat McDowell and husband Bud of Cedar Rapids; brother Brian Wise and wife Carrie of Andover, MN; sister Amy Wise of Cedar Rapids; grandmother Janice Wild Jorgenson of Cedar Rapids; aut Lynda Wild of Clear Lake; step sons Anthony and Nicholas Nassif of Cedar Rapids; as well as 3 step sisters, one step brother, several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his father John Earl Wise I, grandfather Robert L. Wild, and grandparents, Orris and Troas Wise.

John Earl Wise II was born January 14, 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa the beloved son of John E. and Patricia Wild Wise. He was a 1985 graduate of Washington High School, where he was involved in swimming. He was employed as a chef, and previously worked at Elmcrest Country Club. He enjoyed cooking, playing golf, playing pool, and the Minnesota Vikings. He will be greatly missed by his family.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in John's honor.

Johnny Williams
Born in Muscatine, Iowa on September 14, 1945
Departed on May 28, 2007. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Johnny Williams, 61, of 1900 8th Ave SW, died Monday, May 28, 2007, in Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. At his request he is being cremated. Memorial services will be at 2 PM Thursday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Dr. Kay Slocum of First Lutheran Church will officiate. Friends may call at the chapel after 1:30 PM on Thursday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Surviving to honor his memory are his wife Linda, his parents Ray and Edna Williams, and his father in law and mother in law Dr. and Mrs. G. L. Schmit all of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by a sister Edna Rae Devore Dale of Yuma, Arizona, a step brother Walter Williams Donna of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and step sister Connie Osborne Kenneth of Muscatine, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his birth father, and his grandparents.
Johnny was born on September 14, 1945 in Muscatine, Iowa. He married Linda Schmit on November 22, 1985 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Johnny was a machinist at Rockwell Collins for 16 years retiring in 2002. His hobby was classic cars that he bought and restored to be beautiful cars. He was a football addict.
Johnny will be greatly missed by his family, his car buddies, and his dog Mandi.
A memorial fund has been established.

Ronald James Warren
Born in Iowa City, Iowa on January 4, 1947
Departed on June 5, 2007. Resided in Oxford Junction, IA.

Ronald J. Warren, 60, of 310 Fairview Street, Oxford Junction, died June 5, 2007 in his home following a short illness. Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, June 8, 2007 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Friday. Arrangements and Cremation entrusted to Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his loving wife Ruth; daughter Daisy Langston and husband Matt of Nebraska; daughter Teresa Coder and husband Kevin of Anamosa; son Ronald James Warren; son Robert Warren of Oxford Junction; step son Richard D. Edmunds of Hamilton, IL; brother David Warren of Colorado; sister Susie of Cedar Rapids; and brother Richard Porter and wife Nancy of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are his 13 beloved grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents David and Helen.

Ronald James Warren was born January 4, 1947 in Iowa City, Iowa the beloved son of David Jerome and Helen Mae Franks Warren. He served his country honorably during the Viet Nam War in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Ruth Edmunds on June 2, 1980 in Cedar Rapids. He was employed for 3 years at M & K Dust Control; and also was owner for 10 years of Warren Management Motels. He was a member of the VFW in Oxford Junction. He enjoyed golfing at St. Andrews Golf Course, fishing near Olin, and above all time spent with his beloved family and especially his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the memorial fund that has been established in Ron's honor.

Lydia Warfel
Born in White Rock, Minnesota on July 11, 1917
Departed on June 22, 2007. Resided in Hiawatha, IA.

Lydia "Dee" Warfel, 89, of the Promise House in Hiawatha formerly of Lexington Dr. NE. in Cedar Rapids, died Friday June 22, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Services at 1:30 PM on Wednesday at the Milledgeville Brethren Church in Milledgeville, Illinois where friends may call after Noon on Wednesday. Rev. Russell Gordon and Rev. Tony Hawkins will officiate. Burial in the Oak Knoll cemetery in Sterling, Illinois. Friends may greet the family at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids from 4 to 7 PM on Monday. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Claudia Warfel, Barbara Tom Read all of Cedar Rapids and Jackie Timothy Sweet of Reinbeck, 2 sisters, Bernice Cunningham of Galesburg, Illinois and Doris McCleary of Sterling, Illinois. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Darcie, Darin, Brian and Julie Read, Kimberly Anderson and Jennifer Sweet, 4 great grandchildren, Kyle and Augie Knutsen and Abigail and Austin Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Dee was born on July 11, 1917 in White Rock, Minnesota, the daughter of Orville and Mary Ann Meyers Hawkins. She married Claude R. Warfel on April 30, 1938 in Milledgeville, Illinois. He died in 1989. Dee and her husband owned and operated the Milledgeville Greenhouses in Milledgeville and retired from there after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Milledgeville Brethren Church. Dee's faith and family were foremost in her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. A memorial fund has been established in Dee's name.

Katherine Elizabeth Weeks
Born in Chillicothe, Iowa on January 6, 1924

Katherine Elizabeth Weeks, 83, of 155 16th Ave SW, formerly of Ottumwa, died Friday, June 29, 2007, in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a short illness. Services at 3 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Thomas McDermott of St. Ludmila's Catholic Church will officiate. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Monday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include three daughters Barbara Weeks and husband Brian Walter of Madison, Wisconsin, Paula Musel and husband Steve of Hastings, Minnesota, and Kathleen Bessey and husband Mike of Winthrop, Iowa, a son Tom Weeks and wife Cheryl of Madison, Wisconsin, a brother Paul Fabritz and wife Maxine of Chandler, Arizona, three sisters Mary Pumphrey of Batavia, Iowa, Betty Hallberg and husband Richard, and Julia Muchow and husband Jack all of Ottumwa, seven grandchildren Ryan, Andrea, Ben, Kristin, Emily, Holly, and Katie, and three great grandchildren Kalen Mason, and Ashlee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Judith, and a brother Edward.
Katherine was born January 6, 1924 in Chillicothe, Iowa, to William and Elizabeth Roberts Fabritz. She married Everett Weeks on March 8, 1944 in Pensacola, Florida. He died June 27, 1992.
Katherine was a member of St. Ludmila's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, camping, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, 318 18th Ave, Hiawatha, Iowa 52233.

Wilma L. Martin Wilson

Wilma L. Martin Wilson, 91, of 1215 Harrison Ct. NW. died Sat. July 7, 2007 at her home after a long illness. Services at 11 AM on Wed. at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include four sons, Thom Sandy of Cornville, AZ., Dave Joan of Chandler, AZ., Bill Colleen of Marion and Wayne of Cedar Rapids, three daughters, Teri Barnhart and Barb Dave Armstrong all of Cedar Rapids and Sandy John Neiderhiser of Ames. She is also survived by grandchildren, Rachel, Blake, Keerlana, Michelle, Mark, April, Steve, Carly, Kyle, Heather, Faith, Brynna and Bob and three great grandchildren, Adele, Aiden and Justice. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Wilma was born on Feb. 11, 1916 in Linn County, the daughter of William and Fannie Miller Martin. She married Tom K Wilson on Nov. 28, 1946 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died in 1986. Wilma was a distribution clerk for the US Postal Service for 19 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, American Legion Hanford Post No. 5, Waves National, volunteered at the VA Hospital in Iowa City for over 17 years and proudly served as a Wave in the Navy during WWII as a cryptographer. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, nature; watching the squirrels, birds the deer and especially spending time with her friends and beloved family. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Mercy or American Legion Hanford Post No.5, who will be doing the graveside military services.

Clarence R. Yock
Born in Clarence, IA on April 15, 1922
Departed on July 3, 2007. Resided in Monticello, IA.

Clarence R. Yock, 85, of the Monticello Care Center in Monticello formerly of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday July 3, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a short illness. Services at 11 AM on Monday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Rev. Phil Jorgensen will officiate. Burial with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday.

Survivors include a son, Thomas and his wife, Jane of Palo, a daughter, Jayne Billington and her husband, John of Santa Rosa, California and a brother, Harlan of Clarence. He is also survived by a son in law, Bill Jones of Coralville, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Jones, a brother, Harold and an infant sister.

Clarence was born on April 15, 1922 in Clarence, the son of Harry and Naomi Gortner Yock. He married Geraldine "Geri" M. Dirks on Oct. 2, 1943 in Glendale, California. She died in 2004. Clarence was an estimator for Tom Bowker and Sons for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a charter member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, American Legion Hanford Post No. 5, VFW Post No. 788 and proudly served in the Army during WWII. Memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Foundation in Clarence's name. Military rites by American Legion Hanford Post No. 5.
