Michael Werner Ware, 51, of 3124 Terry Drive SE, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007, in his home following a long illness. Memorial services with military honors will be held at 11 AM Thursday in All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Condon officiating. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday.

Survived by his wife Carol Faye Ware, two sons Jacob Angie Elkins of Columbus, Ohio, and Aaron Tiffany Elkins of Alliance, Nebraska, grandchildren Joshua, Kane, Allison, and Makaya Elkins, two sisters Janet Johnson and Lisa Michael South all of Columbus, Ohio, three brothers Timothy Carol Ware of Union Grove, Wisconsin, Stephen Sue Ware of Powell, Ohio, and Matthew Terri Ware of Orlando, Florida, mother in law Charlotte Ohrtman of Spirit Lake, Iowa, brothers in law Michael Ohrtman of Apache Junction, Arizona, and PerryMary Ohrtman of Alliance, Nebraska, sister in law Nancy Jim Sundall of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and father in law William Ohrtman.

Michael was born October 8, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio to Roger Allen and Dorothy Josephine Young Ware. He was a US Army peacetime veteran. He married Carol Faye Ohrtman on February 7, 1987, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a systems Engineer for Geologics. He enjoyed Ohio State and Iowa Football games, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Military honors will be by Hanford American Legion Post 5.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church, or to Hospice of Mercy.

Nautica Nevaeh Wolfe-Mckeny, 6 day old daughter of Nichole Wolfe and Terry Mckeny Jr., died Saturday, January 12, 2008, in St. Luke's Hospital.

Private services will be held in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Survivors include her mother Nichole Wolfe of Cedar Rapids, and Terry Mckeny Jr. of Santa Cruz, California, grandparents Joseph Wolfe Jr, and Barbara Wolfe both of Cedar Rapids, Veronica Mckeny of Des Moines, Iowa, and Terry Mckeny of Hinesville, Georgia, great grandparents, Judy Wolfe Higbee and Janet Cronbaugh both of Cedar Rapids, Stephen Cronbaugh of Muscatine, Pauline Patrick and Mary Patrick both of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her great grandfathers Joseph Wolfe Sr. and Calvin Patrick Sr.

Nautica was born January 6, 2008, in St. Luke's Hospital.

Jeanne Wagaman

Jeanne Wagaman, 89, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Ames, died Saturday, February 23, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at First United Methodist Church, Ames. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids from 4 to 7 on Monday, February 25th.

Jeanne Lois Wagaman was born December 23, 1918 in Norfolk, Nebraska, the beloved daughter of Harry K. and Selma A. Durrie. She graduated from Norfolk High School and married Nelson "Wag" Wagaman April 17th, 1939. Wag was the love of her life and they were married 67 years. Jeanne loved being a homemaker and raising her two children, Bill and Julie.

Jeanne was known as a gracious hostess to friends and family. She was very involved with her friends, neighborhood, community and church. She was a fifty year member of First United Methodist Church in Ames and worshipped at New Covenant Bible Church in Cedar Rapids for the last ten years. Most of all Jeanne loved her family and her role of mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jeanne loved everyone and drew others to her through her sweet, positive and generous spirit. She lived a life of joy and leaves behind a legacy of love and blessings for others.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers: Harry Durrie Jr., Robert Durrie and George Durrie.

Survivors include son, Bill Wagaman, of Topeka, Kan.; daughter, Julie Nelson and husband Jeff, of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law, Marianne Wagaman, of Topeka, Kan; five grandchildren, Jeffery Wagaman of Topeka, Kan., Wendy Montgomery and husband Mike, of Decatur, Ill., Scott Nelson and partner Hannah Garry of Nederland, Colorado., Tracey Chesmore and husband Joshua, of Cedar Rapids, and Sarah Wacker and husband, Cason, of Center Point. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Chance Montgomery, Lindsey Wagaman, Caleb and Noah Chesmore and Ellie Wacker.

Memorial donations in Jeanne's honor may be made to New Covenant Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, St. Luke's Hospice in Cedar Rapids or to the First United Methodist Church in Ames.

Arrangements in Cedar Rapids are entrusted to Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Arrangements in Ames are being handled by Adams Funeral Home.

Her family would like to thank all the wonderful care-givers at Garnett Place Retirement Community, West Ridge Nursing Home and the wonderful nurses and doctors at St. Luke's Hospital and St. Luke's Hospice.

Carol J. "Jeanne" Williams, 60, of 820 27th St. in Marion died Sunday Feb. 24, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center after a short illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.
Survivors include her husband, Carl, four sons, Daniel Robbin Pierce and Mark Pierce all of Cedar Rapids, Rick Jennifer Williams of Marion and Jim Sara Williams of Florida, two daughters, Carla Heath of Cedar Rapids and Judy Scott Hand of Altoona, one sister, Linda Catlett and two brothers, Kevin Mary Van Houten all of Cedar Rapids and David Van Houten of Ely. She is also survived 19 grandchildren, Curtis, Stephanie, Heath, Brandon, Chloe, Chance, Destiny, Danny, Dallas, Brandon, Kyle, Emma, Gracie, Zoey, Peggy, Amanda, John, Amanda and Desi, 3 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Marilyn Van Houten and her two best friends, Cathy and Janet. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Don.
Jeanne was born on July 2, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Carl and Winnifred Coon Van Houten. She married Carl Williams on May 2, 1986 in Central City. Jeanne worked in assembly at Hunters Specialties for 17 years. She was a member of the U.S.B.C. She enjoyed crafts, flowers, gardening, making jewelry bowling and especially time spent with her many friends and beloved family. Memorial donations may be given to the March of Dimes, Camp Courageous or the DAV in Jeanne's name.

John W. Weik
Born in Waterloo, Iowa on September 23, 1926
Departed on February 24, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

John W. "Jack" Weik, 81, of 2525 Falbrook Drive NE, died at Mercy Medical Center, Sunday, February 24, 2008, after a short illness. Services will be held at a later date. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; two daughters, Jan Walt Drahozal of Solon, and Judy Rick Sumner of Oak Park, IL; and four grandchildren, Lydia and Travis Drahozal and Lindsay and Drew Sumner.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Weik.

Jack was born on September 23, 1926 in Waterloo, Iowa to William and Nell Jenson Weik, living in Cleveland, OH, Peoria, IL, and Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1944. He received a BA from the University of Iowa in 1951 where he was on the track team, holding the Big Ten record for high jump for many years. Jack was a Navy veteran of WWII. Jack worked for Standard Oil while living in Washington, Iowa and then for King's Concrete after moving to Cedar Rapids in 1966.

Phyllis Jeanne Weik
Born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 28, 1928
Departed on February 26, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Phyllis Jeanne Weik, 79, of 2525 Falbrook Drive NE, died at Mercy Medical Center, Tuesday, February 26, 2008, after a short illness. Services will be held at a later date. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements are with Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.

Survivors include her two daughters, Jan Walt Drahozal of Solon, and Judy Rick Sumner of Oak Park, IL; four grandchildren, Lydia and Travis Drahozal and Lindsay and Drew Sumner; and a sister, Barbara Ray Rouw of Des Moines.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, who died on February 24, 2008; parents; and stepmother, Maurine Callison Brightman.

Phyllis Jeanne Brightman was born on July 28, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Mabel McRae Brightman. She graduated from East High in Des Moines in 1946 and attended nursing school at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines graduating in 1949. She married Jack Weik in 1950 and moved to Washington, Iowa in 1953 where she worked as a nurse in surgery and delivery. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1966 where she worked in the OR at Mercy Hospital until her retirement in September 1988. She was a dedicated member of the T.T.T. Society serving as an officer of her chapter a number of times. She also volunteered for many summers as a camp nurse at the T.T.T. Camp for Girls in Eden Valley, Minnesota.
