Amos E. Williams, 68, 711 16th St SE, died Wednesday October 29, 2008 in his home from heart failure. Services: 1:00 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Robert C. Pleiness from Good News Baptist Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Survivors include Mary Ann Williams of Cedar Rapids, his children, Patricia Parkinson of Venice, Florida, Chestine Vanderslice of Cedar Rapids, Wendy (Brad) Ridenour of Greeley, Iowa, Kevin Williams (Nicole) of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Amy (Doug) Bruce of Cedar Rapids, a brother, Cliford Williams of Cedar Rapids, two sisters, Marguerite Hennessey of Springfield, Illinois and Mary Lou (Clyde) Anderson of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

His parents, a niece, Tina Bean and a nephew Mike Bean, brother in law, Don Hennessey Sr. and a sister Gladys Grape preceded him in death.

Amos was born January 25, 1940 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Willie and Geogia Collins Williams. He was a truck driver for Nabisco Foods and owner and operator of Yellow Cab in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. He served in the army during peacetime. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Hanford Post #5. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Melanie Stahlberg, Mercy Hospice and all the neighbors for all they did for Amos.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.

Zola Mae Weldon
Born in Oxford, IA on February 18, 1922
Departed on November 6, 2008. Resided in Walker, IA.

Zola M. Weldon, 86, of 3105 Campfire Rd. near Walker died at the home of a friend in Ryan on Thursday Nov. 6, 2008 after a brief illness. Memorial services at 11 AM on Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynne Weldon of Boulder, Colorado and Anne (Eugene) Butz of Robins, a sister, Eileen McCormack of Huntington Beach, California and two brothers, Charles Stratton of Seattle, Washington and Wayne Stratton of Tiffin. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Patrick, Laura, Timothy, Eric, Darla, Kim and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick.
Zola was born on Feb. 18, 1922 in Oxford, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Wagner Stratton. She married Patrick J. Weldon on Dec. 21, 1940 in Marengo. He died in 2002. Zola was a baker and worked for Bishops Buffett for several years. She was a member of the Troy Mills garden Club and was a Lady Elk. Zola had a great sense of humor and was always there when someone needed her. She will be greatly missed by her friends and beloved family. The family would like to give a special thanks to Tressie and JoEllen for the loving care given to Zola. A memorial fund has been established.

Ruth G. Wuggazer
Born in Hammond, Indiana on July 14, 1912
Departed on November 25, 2008. Resided in Perry, IA.

Ruth G. Wuggazer, 96, of the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, formerly of Cedar Rapids died at the Perry Lutheran Home on Tuesday Nov. 25, 2008 from complications of old age. Services at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after Noon on Saturday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith (Paul) Sundholm of Fairmont, Minnesota, two sons, Robert (Sharon) Wuggazer of Omaha, Nebraska and Thomas (Margaret) Wuggazer of Coffeyville, Kansas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michele) Sundholm, Kristen (Michael) Francis, Jill (Greg) Heims, Sheryl (Michael) Frye, Jonathan (Heidi) Wuggazer, Shauna (Korey) Knott, William (Lisa) Wuggazer, David and Bradley Wuggazer and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters.
Ruth was born on July 14, 1912 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of William and Emilee Feiertag Brauer. She married Rev. Erhard W. Wuggazer on Oct. 20, 1938 in Hammond, Indiana. He died 1985. Ruth was a register nurse and worked at the Hammond, Indiana Hospital and Mason City, Iowa Hospital for several years. She was a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City. Ruth enjoyed knitting. She was a very kind person who would always be there to help anyone. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family. A memorial fund has been established in Ruth’s name.

Marion Mildred Wiegand
Born in Chicago, Illinois on January 25, 1920
Departed on November 29, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Marion S. Wiegand, 88, a resident of Manor Care Nursing Home, died there Saturday November 29, 2008 following a long illness. Services will be held at a later date. Her body was cremated. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Kirkland and husband Will of Cedar Rapids, two grandchildren, Steve (Debora) Kirland of Ojai, California and Marc (Ann) Kirland of Champaign, Illinois, five great grandchildren, Benjamin, Becca, Mathias, Kaylee and Jesse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisiters, Ruth Ann Miller and Junellen Butler and a brother, Wayne Scheuneman.

Marion was born January 25, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Felix Mildred Pressel Scheuneman. Marion was an office manager for a phycian in Chicago, Illinois. After retiring she moved to Cedar Rapids in 1983. She was a member of Women’s League Voters, Cedar Valley Group of the Embroiderers Guild of America and Peoples Unitarian Church, where she was active in the Van Vechten Guild. Marion enjoyed the company and valued the creative time with family and friends. She was a gifted artist who was never without a project to work on. From painting to handcrafts, to miniatures and her favorite counted cross stitch. Marion was a wonderful mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Manor Care Nursing Home and Mercy Hospice for all the loving care they gave her.

Doris Werth
Born in Clermont, IA on January 19, 1927
Departed on November 30, 2008. Resided in Marion, IA.

Doris Werth, 81, of Linn Manor Care in Marion died Sunday Nov. 30, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital after a short illness. Services at 11 AM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Dr. T. Edwards Breed and Vicar Debbie Thompson will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday.

Survivors include two daughters, Nina (Mike) Kaegbein of Cedar Rapids, Carol (Tim) Dunnington of Barrington, Illinois and a brother, Norman Gilbert of California. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Allison and Kyle Dunnington, Steven Werth, and Daniel and Nicholas Fry. Three step-grandchildren, one great grandchildren and 14 step-great grandchildren.

Doris was born on Jan. 19, 1927 in Clermont, the daughter of Nels and Josephine Steinerson Gilbert. She married Willard F. Werth on Dec. 1, 1956 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1992. Doris was a typist at Collins for several years and later was a seamstress at both Kiecks and Younkers for over 13 years. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway. Doris enjoyed walks, her friends, family and especially her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association in Doris’ name.

Bong Ye You
Born in Seoul, South Korea on October 26, 1911
Departed on July 15, 2002. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Bong Ye You, 90, of 4705 Westchester Dr. NE, died Monday, July 15, 2002, in St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Services at 10:30 AM Friday in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Jong Koo Lee of the Cedar Rapids Korean Baptist Church will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at the chapel after 10 AM on Friday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include two daughters Ok Ran Kim of Los Angeles, California, and Kim Wessels of Cedar Rapids.
Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and three special friends An Soon Opfer, Joseph Dwyer, and Song Pok Yi. She was preceded in death by her husband Kim Yun Soo, and a son Jin Ku Kim.
Bong was born October 26, 1911 in Seoul, South Korea. She was a member of the Cedar Rapids Korean Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Rapids Korean Baptist Church.

Wilbert “Bill” E. Ward, 85, of 3012 – 30th Street Drive SE, died at the Dennis & Donna Hospice House of Mercy, Tuesday, December 9, 2008, after a long illness. Services: 5 p.m. Friday at
Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. Steve Benton of Faith Bible Church, Robins. Private Burial: Aspen Grove cemetery, Burlington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Bill is survived by wife, Joan; children, Sandra, Wilberta, and Mark Ward; and first wife, Patricia.

He is also survived by four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters and brothers.

Bill was born on June 28, 1923 in rural Benton County to Peter and Caroline Kimm Ward. He was a truckdriver for over 40 years, retiring in 1984. He married Joan Houts on August 12, 2000 in Robins. He was a member of Faith Bible Church.
