Miriam Chambers
Miriam (Hearing) Chambers, 42, of Clarksville, Tenn., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 1997, from cancer.
Memorial service were held Wednesday, Dec. 10, at First gaptist Church in St. Bethlehem, Tenn.
Mrs. Chambers was born March 9, 1955, in Sioux City, the daughter of Russell and Dorthy Hearing.
She was a member of the first graduating class of West High School in 1973.
She married Donald Chambers of Phillips, Neb., on Aug. 9, 1973.
She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts and gardening.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Monica Wisnewski of Belleville, Ill., and Abigail Chambers of Clarksville; a son, Benjamin of Clarksville; her parents of Sioux City; two sisters, Jeanette Friesen of Walton, Kan., and Elaine Brown of Sioux City; and three brothers, Duane and Dwight Hearing of Sioux City and Tim Hearing of Hendersonville, Tenn.

Frances Benson
Frances (Cremin) Benson, 87, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at her residence.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Benson was born Nov. 25, 1910, in Sioux City, the daughter of Dr. William Joseph Slocum and Kathleen (Storey) Cremin. She was educated at Bradford, the University of Chicago and Smith College and graduated from the University of Iowa.
She married Harold O. Benson on Sept. 28, 1935, in Sioux City. He died in 1988.
In her younger years, she was a member of Bryant School PTA and served as a den mother and Brownie leader. She was a member of the Junior League of Sioux City and served on the board of the Boys and Girls Home. She enjoyed golf and reading.
Survivors include three sons, Peter and his wife, Barbara Ann, of Sioux City, Bradley of Gibson's, British Columbia and Cremin of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Barbara, of Old Town, Fla.; two grandchildren, Scott and Kelly; a great-grandson; a sister, Mary Bergeson of Sante Fe, N.M.; and her friend and companion, Connie Schultz.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Constance Huxley and Patricia Jones.

Carleton A. Hardy
Carleton A. Hardy, 60, of Conway, Ark., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at St. Vincents in Conway.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Roller-McNutt Chapel in Conway, with the Rev. Philip Hathcock officiating. The body was cremated.
Mr. Hardy was born July 2, 1937, in Sioux City, the son of Carleton and Louise (Zechman) Hardy.
He married Karen Haitz.
He was a retired manufacturing executive.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Kyle of Springdale, Ark., Todd of Franklin, Tenn., and Craig of Spring Hill, Tenn.; two brothers, John of Knoxville, Tenn., and Roger of Sioux City; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Carti of Conway or First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in Conway.
Roy I. Kent
Roy I. Kent, 89, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at a Sioux City nursing home following a brief illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Graf, pastor of Morningside Presbyterian Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Cemetery at Laurel, Neb. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Kent was born Oct. 28, 1908, in Laurel, the son of Henry J. and Minnie M. (Smith) Kent. He was raised on a farm in the Laurel area.
He married Levern Spike on Aug. 27, 1930, in Sioux City. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1938.
He was employed with Western States Manufacturing Company until retiring in 1974.
He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Mr. Kent was a member of the Sioux City Eagle's Club and enjoyed dancing and playing cards.
Survivors include a son and his wife, LeRoy and Coni of Sioux City; three daughters, Lorraine and her husband, Donald Windle, Shirley and her husband, Marvin Carrell, and Rita Kobes, all of Sioux City; a sister, Pauline Marshall of Window, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Florence A. Rice
Florence A. Rice, 84, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at a Sioux City nursing home following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. George P. Zehnder officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Ida Grove Cemetery at Ida Grove, Iowa. Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rice was born July 27, 1913, in Ida County in Iowa, the daughter of Cornelius and Louise (Streck) Boysen. She graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1931, and taught country school in the Ida Grove area from 1931 to 1940.
She married Elmer Rice on Dec. 25, 1939, in Ida Grove. They moved to Sioux City in 1940.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Gary and Peggy of St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter and her husband, Constance and Jerry McGee of Ricketts, Iowa; a sister and her husband, Hertha and Herbert Vaudt of Boone, Iowa; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
Pallbearers will be Richard "Chris" Stone, Jeffrey McGee, Earl Dean Schmidt, Gustave Boysen, Don Vaudt and Lloyd Brown.
William F. Tracy
William F. "Bud" Tracy, 82, of Oklahoma City, Okla., formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 1997, in Oklahoma City.
Services and burial were held Tuesday in Oklahoma City.
Edna D. Williams
Edna D. Williams, 89, of Sioux City, formerly of Bronson, Iowa, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, in Sioux City.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William H. Steward officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home.
Miss Williams was born July 26, 1908, in Bronson, Iowa, the daughter of James and Sarah Jane (Hunt) Williams. She graduated from Bronson High School as valedictorian of her class. She attended the University of Northern Iowa, recieving her bachlor's degree, then earned her master's degree at the University of Minnesota.
She taught school in Schaller, Bronson, Rockwell City and Ames, Iowa, before coming to Sioux City East, where she was a dramatics teacher, dean of girls and assistant principal. She taught for 43 years.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the American Association of University Women, the Univesity of Minnesota Alumni Association, the University of Northern Iowa Alumni Association, the National Education Association, the Iowa State Educational Association and the Iowa Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Iowa Deans and past president of both the State Deans and Sioux City Administration Club. She was noted in Who's Who in American Women. She published a cookbook "Food for Thought," and had several choral reading programs published.
Survivors include a brother, Aaron Williams of Bronson; a sister, Beulah Wood of Longmont, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Williams; and three sisters, Marian Pfremmer, Mildred Gosch and Gwendolyn Williams.
Pallbearers will be Steve and Jeff King, Paul Kirkegard, Rick Amos, Norman and Shane Williams.
Rita M. "Molly" Bousquet, 77, of South Sioux City died Monday; Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Veta Allen
MAPLETON, Iowa - Veta Pauline Allen, 85, of Mapleton died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at Casa de Paz Nursing Home in Sioux City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapelton, with the Rev. Mark Smeltzer officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Allen was born Aug. 27, 1912, in Mapleton, the daughter of Albert C. and Anna Lorene (Lee) Wiggs. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1931.
She married Earl "Bud" Allen on Aug. 6, 1932, in Dakota City. The couple farmed in Monona and Woodbury counties, at Smithland and Hornick, Iowa, from 1933 until retiring in 1977. They returned to Mapleton in 1977. He died May 24, 1990.
She was a member of Faith Bible Church in Mapleton, where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Richard and Marla of North Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Allen of Hornick; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond in infancy and Jimmy.
George J. Arens
YANKTON, S.D. - George Joseph Arens, 79, of Yankton died Sunday at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wynot, Neb. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton, Neb. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Ralph O. Artz
CHEROKEE, Iowa - Ralph O. Artz, 81, of Cherokee died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, with a family prayer service at 10:45 p.m., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cherokee, with the Rev. Gary Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery at Kingsley, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.
Mr. Artz was born June 15, 1916, in Potwin, Kan., the son of Fred and Flossie (Haines) Artz. He graduated from Kingsley High School in 1934.
He married Hilma Pratt on Sept. 30, 1937, in Kingsley.
He farmed in Afton Township for 30 years. Prior to that, he lived in the Kingsley area. He retired in 1981. Following his retirement, the couple delivered Winnebago motor homes nationwide.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul of Mojave Valley, Calif., and Roger of Lawton, Mo.; three daughters, Claudia Page of Mineral, Wash., Lynda and her husband, Richard Risner, of Temecula, Calif. and Gayle and her husband, Robert Lower, of Kirkland, Wash.; six grandchildren, Terri Murphy, Ginny and Josie Brown, Tim and Amy Artz and Chad Lower; two brothers, Ted of Wichita, Kan., and Gene and his wife, Margaret, of Loyal, Wis.; three sisters, Cleo Taplin of Aurora, Colo., Theo and her husband, Graydon Ashton, of Lakewood, Colo., and Joan and her husband, Ted Wilding, of Ballwin, Mo.

Erma Hansman
ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa - Erma Hansman, 89, of Rock Rapids, formerly of George, Iowa, died Sunday at Rock Rapids Health Centre.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in George. Burial will be in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present at 7 p.m., at the Bolin Funeral Home in George.
Ronald Hermelbracht
PENDER, Neb. - Ronald R. Hermelbracht, 24, of Pender died Friday, Dec. 12, 1997, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender. Burial will be in St. Mark's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender.
Mr. Hermelbracht was born Dec. 16, 1972, in Taft, Calif. He came to Nebraska as a young boy and was adopted by Harold and Judy (Mayberry) Hermelbracht. He graduated from Pender High School in 1992, where he was active in sports. He was employed with IBP.
Survivors include his children, Ryan and McKayla of North Sioux City; his parents of Pender; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Kellie and Kenny McKay of Pender, Kandie and Armando Ambriz of Pico Rivera, Calif., Kerrie and Chip Sorenson of Pender, Kristie Hermelbracht of Omaha, Neb. and Katie and Lowell Lemkuhl of Brancroft, Neb.; two brothers, Brian Ellinger of Dakota City and Jerry Ellinger of Aurora, Colo.; his grandparents, Betty Mayberry of Pender and Jack and Tina Ellinger of Ojai, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Mayberry.
Kathleen Hildreth
MERRILL, Iowa - Kathleen Lucille Hildreth, 64, of Rockwell City, Iowa, formerly of Merrill, died of cancer Monday, Dec. 15, 1997, at her residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St Francis Catholic Church in Rockwell City, with Monsignor L.M. Ziegmann, the Rev. Doug Klein, the Rev. Roger Linnan and the Rev. Richard A. Kielbasa officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 8 p.m., at the Palmer Funeral Home in Rockwell City.
Mrs. Hildreth was born Aug. 21, 1933, near Merrill, the daughter of Arthur and Marguerite (Hoffmann) Newman. She attended country schools and graduated from Le Mars High School in Le Mars, Iowa, in 1951.
She married Martin Hildreth on May 15, 1954, at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. In 1955, the couple moved to Rockwell City.
She was employed with the Calhoun County REC for 24 years and the last five years as a site monitor for Iowa Central Community College television classes at the Rockwell City-Lytton High School.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, where she was active in the church circle and mobile meal board.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Michael and Marilyn of Brookings, S.D., and Thomas and Theresa of Rockwell City; a surrogate son, whom they raised, and his wife, Randy and Becky of Rockwell City; six grandchildren, Ryan, Michele, Sara, Matthew, David and Anne; three surrogate grandchildren, Chad, Jasey and Karrie; a brother and his wife, Ken and Pat Newman of Denver, Colo.; five sisters and their husbands, Phyllis and Don Hindman of Sioux City, Marilyn and Vince Klein of Hospers, Iowa, Shirley and Dick Morrissey of Lincoln, Neb., Bernice and Leo Boland of Rapid City, S.D., and Arlene and John Jones of Cleveland, Tenn.; her mother-in-law, Lillian Hildreth of Fort Dodge, Iowa; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Joyce and Son Reynolds of Fort Dodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Earl Monk
ELK POINT, S.D. - Earl Monk, 87, of Elk Point died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Prairie Estates Care Center in Elk Point.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point, with the Rev. N. Richard Wiekert officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery at Kingsley, Iowa. Visitation will begin at noon today, with a prayer services at 7 p.m., at the Anderson Funeral Home in Elk Point.
Mr. Monk was born Oct. 10, 1910, in Oto, Iowa, the son of Charles and Phoebe (Lannagan) Monk.
He married Fay Mount on April 3, 1936, in Blair, Neb. The couple farmed in the Moville, Iowa, area. She died July 1, 1977.
He married Stella Fletcher on June 7, 1979, in Elk Point, where they made their home.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Brotherhood.
Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Dan and Louisa Monk of Daleon, China; a stepson and his wife, Richard and Marge Fletcher of Des Plaines, Ill.; a stepdaughter and her husband, Yvonne and William Busker of Elk Point; a stepdaughter-in-law, Paulette Fletcher of Sioux City; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Johnnie; an infant granddaughter, Melissa; a stepson, Roger Fletcher; four brothers, Sim, Clem, Henry and Clifford; and four sisters, Tressie Larsen, Bessie Efner, Flossie Vondrak and Inez Sherman.
Bradley A. Mosier
WHITING, Iowa - Bradley Allen Mosier, 41, of Whiting died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Bronson, Iowa.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Christ in Whiting, with Rev. Shawn Walden officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Mosier was born Dec. 17, 1955, in Sioux City, the son of David and Faonne (Bails) Mosier. He lived in Sergeant Bluff and graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School.
He married Kathy Boyle on July 23, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was employed as a professional painter and had lived in Whiting since moving from Sioux City in 1990.
He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and helped with the Abu Bekr Shrine Circus. He had played Santa Claus for the last eight years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy, at home; his parents of Sergeant Bluff; two brothers, Scott and his wife, Michell, of Baltimore, Md., and Troy of Sergeant Bluff; two sisters, Naydeen and her husband,Beckett Bell, and Jackie Mosier, all of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Wilbur Reynolds
BLENCOE, Iowa - Wilbur Reynolds, 91, of Blencoe, formerly of Onawa, Iowa, died Sunday at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa. Burial will be in Onawa City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Russell L. Robbins
ELK POINT, S.D. - Russell L. "Buzz" Robbins, 70, of Elk Point died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital.
There will be no services or visitation. Anderson Funeral Home of Elk Point was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Robbins was born July 23, 1927, in Elk Point, the son of Howard and Mary (Goss) Robbins. He graduated from Elk Point High School. He recieved his bachlor's degree in biology from South Dakota State University and his master's degree from Iowa State University.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
He married Jeanne Thornberg in 1965, in Rapid City, S.D. The couple resided in Jackson, Wyo.
He was employed with the Game, Fish and Parks Department for the state of South Dakota and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, retiring in 1989. He returned to Elk Point in 1990.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include a son, Tom of Portland, Ore.; a brother and his wife, Doyle and Glennys Robbins of Elk Point; a sister and her husband, Janice and Dale Ludy of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Harold Roos
SIBLEY, Iowa - Harold Jesse Roos, 73, of Sibley died Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at Royal C. Johnson Veterans Memorial Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Reformed Church in Sibley, with the Rev. Gary Van Heukelom officiating. Burial will be in Hospers Cemetery at Hospers, Iowa. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Walton, Roste and Vogel Funeral Home in Sibley.
Mr. Roos was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Hospers, the son of Dick and Anna (Smith) Roos. He attended school in Hospers, where he played basketball and baseball.
He served in the U.S Navy during World War II aboard the USS General.
He returned to Hospers, where he was employed at Pulley's Cheese Plant.
He married Rosella Zwagerman on June 25, 1948, in Hospers. He was employed at Zwagerman's Hardware Store, before moving to Missouri where they lived for two years. They returned to Hospers in 1958, and he operated Roos Plumbing and Heating for 14 years. In 1972, they moved to Sibley, where he worked as a plumber for Carlson's Plumbing and Heating, which later became Stofferans Plumbing and Heating. He retired in 1982.
He was a member of First Reformed Church, the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Sibley and the Hospers American Legion, where he served on the honor guard. He was a Cub Scout leader and served on the Hospers Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Rickey of Sibley; a daughter and her husband, Katha and Chuck Kruger of Sibley; a daughter-in-law, Charlotte Roos of Paullina, Iowa; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Roos of Sibley.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis; his parents; two sisters, Janet Brink and Dena Kimmel; and four brothers, Arie, Henry, Cyril and Dick Roos.
Audrey J. Stehr
ODEBOLT, Iowa - Audrey J. Stehr, 62, of Odebolt died of cancer Sunday, Dec. 14, 1997, at her daughter's residence in Hinton, Iowa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt, with the Rev. Albert Buelow officiating. Burial will be in Odebolt Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Odebolt.
Mrs. Stehr was born Oct. 21, 1935, in Odebolt, the daughter of John B. and Ethel (Rydberg) Buehler. She graduated from Odebolt High School in 1953.
She married Lester Stehr on July 7, 1956, in Odebolt.
She attended business school in Omaha, Neb., then worked as a cashier for many years in the Odebolt State Bank.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Bill and Kathy of Odebolt; two daughters, Karna Bresnahan and her fiancee, Bill Schiltz, of Hinton and Pam and her husband, David Simonson, of Dunlap, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Mathew, Brian and Bradley Stehr, Jon and Jeana Bresnahan, Drew Schiltz and Deric, Hanna, Kyle and Megan Simonson; a sister and her husband, Donna and Henry DeMey of Denison, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Darrel and Sally Buehler of Dexter, Mich.; her mother-in-law, Esther Stehr of Odebolt; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Wulf of Odebolt and Elaine and her husband, LeRoy Nemitz, of Charter Oak, Iowa; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Wayne and Nell Stehr of Norman, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and a brother-in-law.

ODEBOLT, Iowa - Ernest Lee Sweeden, 71, of Odebolt died Monday at his residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt. Burial will be in Odebolt Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Odebolt.
Deborah J. Tyer
KINGSLEY, Iowa - Deborah "Debbie" J. Tyer, 32, of Higley, Ariz., died Monday, Dec. 8, 1997, of Hodgkin's disease.
Mrs. Tyer was born Aug. 10, 1965, in St. Paul, Minn., the daughter of Dwayne and Sandy Kragness. She graduated from Foley High School in Foley, Minn. She attended St. Cloud State and graduated from Lambson Business College in Phoenix, Ariz.
She married Scott Tyer on March 4, 1995.
She was employed as an administrative sales assistant with Hensley and Company.
She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church and the City of Gilbert Promotional Corporation.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Megan of Higley; a son, Jacob of Higley; her parents, Sandy and Gene Schmidt of Gilbert, Ariz.; two brothers, Paul and Larry Schmidt of Chandler, Ariz.; her parents-in-law, Cal and Barb Tyer of Kingsley; her maternal grandparents, Don and Margaret Emerson of the Phoenix area; and her paternal grandmother, Rita Jean of the Phoenix area.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dwayne.

GEORGE, Iowa - Arthur Van Gelder, 79, the mayor of George, died Monday at the City Hall in George.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George. Burial will be in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present at 7 p.m., at the Bolin Funeral Home in George.
Randal L. Widman
BRONSON, Iowa - Randal L. "Randy" Widman, 41, of Bronson died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, from injuries suffered in a automobile accident.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Reformed Church, with Dr. Louis Lotz officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.
Mr. Widman was born Nov. 15, 1956, in Sioux City, the son of William and Alice "June" (Heaton) Widman. He was raised on a farm near Bronson and attended Lawton-Bronson Community Schools, graduating from Lawton-Bronson Community High School.
He married Janna Vos on March 25, 1977, in Le Mars, Iowa. The couple farmed in the rural Bronson area. He also worked for Wilson Trailer Company and most recently for Woodbury County in the Secondary Roads Department.
He was a member of member of Morningside Reformed Church. He was a past member of the Woodbury County Planning and Zoning Commission and an avid supporter of the Woodbury County 4-H program. In 1979, he was named the Woodbury County Farm Bureau Young Farmer of the Year.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Troy Lee and Tyler Randal, both at home; a daughter, Taunya June at home; his mother of Sioux City; three brothers and their wives, Bill and Barb of Salix, Iowa, Charles F. and Charlene of Bronson and David and Elizabeth of Sioux City; four sisters, Martha Kroeger of Sioux City, Karen and her husband, John Peterson, of Bronson, Beverly and her husband, Mort Zenor, of Moville, Iowa, and Susan and her husband, Gary Wiens, of Hooker, Okla.; his parents-in-law, Leroy and June Vos of Kinglsey, Iowa; and two brothers-in-law, Clint and Russell Vos.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother-in-law, Floyd Kroeger.
A memorial has been established in his memory.

MAY CITY, Iowa - Randi Wilder, 44, of Escondido, Calif., formerly of May City, died Sunday at her parents' residence in May City following a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church in Hartley, Iowa. There will be no visitation. Warner-Baumgarten Funeral Home of Hartley is in charge of the arrangements.

IDA GROVE, Iowa - Janice Ann Winterhof, 51, of Ida Grove died Monday at her residence.
Services are tentatively scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Church of God in Ida Grove. Burial will be in Ida Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove.
