Charles C. Clayton
Charles Clinton Clayton, 68, of Sioux City died Sunday, March 9, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Monahan Post 64. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Clayton was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Pipestone, Minn., the son of Wilbur and Marion (Trigg) Clayton. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Miriam Peterson on Oct. 29, 1971, in Vermillion, S.D. He lived in Sioux City and Sergeant Bluff most of his life.
He was employed at Nixon Feed, Cargill and retired from Wilson Trailer Company about six years ago.
He was a member of the Machinist Union.
Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Charles C. and Sandra of South Sioux City; three stepsons, Rodney Jr., Michael and Greg Brandhagen all of Sioux City; three stepdaughters, Ronda and her husband John Schultz, Susan and her husband Timothy Kacena all of Sioux City, and Gail O'Connor of Dakota Dunes; a brother and his wife, Clifford and Virginia of Westfield, Iowa; three sisters, Betty Martin of Sergeant Bluff, Norma and her husband Sam Sheldon of Sioux City and Mary Lou and her husband Don Landers of Lincoln, Neb.; 19 grandchildren, Chad, Staci, Cari, Carli, and Dusty Clayton, Melissa Hofer, Caleb, Brandi, Seth, Angelia, Michael and Chantel Brandhagen, Heather Avitia, John Schultz, Corrine and Cody O'Connor, Maggie Lane, and Timothy and Amanda Kacena; and three great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Lawrence Sturzl; a brother, Bruce Struzl; and a granddaughter, Jennie Brandhagen.
Guy G. Kindig
Guy G. "Junior" Kindig, 72, of Sioux City died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. Thomas E. Geelan and Rev. Dennis W. Meinen, pastors at Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mr. Kindig was born March 22, 1924, in Sioux City, the son of Guy G. and Ada (Beeghley) Kindig. He was raised in Pierson, Iowa and graduated from Pierson High School, where he was active in baseball and basketball. He married Barbara Ann Mull on Sept. 30, 1947, in Tama, Iowa.
He was a truck driver for 42 years. He owned and operated his own truck and leased to All American. He retired in 1986.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Retired Teamsters Local 710. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Cathy and Mike Griggs of Early, Iowa; two sons and their wives, Larry D. and Carol A. of Omaha, Neb. and Doug and Beth of LaVista, Neb.; two adopted daughters, Janet Siebold and Barbara Brewer both of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Gwen and Richard Langley of Westfield, Iowa; a half-brother, Larry Frohman of Sioux City; his grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Duane and Garold.
Pallbearers will be Gene Buhman, Randy Solomon, Cy Anderson, Don Frederick, Mel Ahlquist, and Terry Prince.

Isaac R. Reynosa
Isaac R. Reynosa, 69, of Sioux City died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Marvin Boes officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a scripural wake service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mr. Reynosa was born Aug. 5, 1927, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Thomas and Maria (Rodriquez) Reynosa. He married Virginia Oliva. She died in 1968. He married Rosamaria Ledezma on Aug. 5, 1969, in Waukeegan, Ill. He became a resident of Sioux City in 1981. He was employed at Swift's Packing Company for 32 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Roberto and his wife Terri, Larry and his wife Leeann all of Rochelle, Ill., Danny and his wife Sarah of Sioux City, and Sandro at home; six daughters, Alicia and her husband Mario Avila, Esther and her husband Alberto Vargas all of Rochelle, Ill., Emma Reynosa and Dianna Reynosa both of Chicago, Ill., Marisol and her husband Jose Cardona and Sandra and her husband Horacio Campos all of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Raymond and Antonia of San Antonio, Texas; a sister and her husband, Herminia and Mario Estrada of San Antonio; 22 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria; two brothers, Thomas and Hilario; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Jose Cardona, Horacio Campos, Steve Cogdill, Jose Barrientos, Joseph Corey, and Fernando Rico.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
C. Inez Schroeppel
Cora Inez Schroeppel, 89, of Sioux City died Friday, March 7, 1997, at Casa De Paz.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riverside United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Order of Eastern Star services conducted by Silver Chapter O.E.S. at 7 p.m., all at Berkemier Funeral Home.
Mrs. Schroeppel was born June 4, 1907, at Sioux City, to Louis and Ethel (Gary) Bourette. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. She married Frank T. Schroeppel Oct. 7, 1925, at Elk Point, S.D. The couple made their home in Sioux City. He died in 1974.
She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Silver Chapter O.E.S., Daughters of the Nile, and Girls of "68.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Self of Sioux City; a son, Wesley Schroeppel of Las Vegas; a brother, Charles Jessup of Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Beckwith; a son, Arthur; a great-grandson; two sisters and a brother.
Warren O. Bonnes, 73, of Sioux City died Saturday; Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home.
Anna M. Mairer, 69, of Sioux City died Saturday; Nelson-Berger Morningisde Chapel.

IDA GROVE, Iowa - Mark H. Friedrichsen, 40, of Ida Grove died Sunday of injuries suffered in a skid-loader accident at his residence.
Services are pending at the Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home of Ida Grove.
Deborah S. Hamlin
STORM LAKE, Iowa - Deborah S. Hamlin, 47, of Storm Lake died Friday at the Buena Vista County Hospital following a sudden illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Hayes Township Cemetery at rural Arthur, Iowa. Visitation will begin after noon today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Fratzke Funeral Home.
Elmer C. Larson
UTE, Iowa - Elmer C. Larson, 82, of Ute died Friday, March 7, 1997, at his residence in Sioux City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute, with the Rev. Edgar Bode officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Armstrong Funeral Home of Ute.
Mr. Larson was born July 28, 1914, near Hinton, Iowa, the son of Charles and Alma Larson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He was raised and later farmed in the Hinton area.
He married Hertha Maschmler. She died in 1967. He married Elsie Hinrichsen on Feb. 3, 1968 in Ute. The couple later retired from farming and moved to Charter Oak, Iowa in 1976, where they lived on an acreage and raised hogs. They moved into Ute in 1990. He entered North Park Place in Sioux City in August 1995.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute.
Survivors include his wife of Ute; two daughters, Carolyn Kounkel of Le Mars, Iowa and Janet and her husband Bill Ostler of Elma, Wash.; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Shirley and Chuck Lee of Lyton, Iowa and Joyce and Clark Downing of Sioux City; three stepsons and their wives, Lowell and Pat Hinrichsen of Ute, Earl and LaBerta Hinrichsen of Moorhead, Iowa and Roger and Janice Hinrichsen of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Jean Larson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a brother, Robert "Bud" of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Helen and Emery Hardersen of Hinton; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis at birth and Douglas; a stepson, Orval Hinrichsen; a granddaughter, Lori Kounkel; and two stepgrandchildren, Steven and Tami Hinrichsen.
Theresa Namminga
SPRINGFIELD, S.D. - Theresa Namminga, 81, of Springfield died Saturday at her residence.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Springfield. Burial will be in Emanuel Reformed Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home of Springfield. Visitation will resume from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.

ASHTON, Iowa - Albert Petersen, 87, of Ashton died Saturday at the Good Samaritan Center in George, Iowa.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Ashton. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley, Iowa. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Sanborn Funeral Home of Sanborn, Iowa.
Caroline E. Walker
HAWARDEN, Iowa - Caroline Elizabeth Walker, 100, of Hawarden died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at the Hawarden Community Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden, with the Rev. Byron Shafer officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Walker was born Sept. 9, 1896, in Union County, S.D., the daughter of Fredrick and Nellie (Noteboom) Boeck. She graduated from the Hawarden High School and taught at Williams School in Union County, S.D.
She married Ivan B. Walker on Sept. 20, 1916, in Hawarden. For many years the couple raised and sold strawberries and vegetables from their acreage garden. He died Dec. 7, 1985.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Lance of Hawarden and Robert of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a daughter and her husband, Virginia and Ernest Packard of Hawarden; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Fredrick "Buck"; and a sister, Mary Jane Hartman.
Hans O. Young
IDA GROVE, Iowa - Hans O. Young, 82, of Ida Grove died Sunday at the Morningside Care Center in Ida Grove.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Battle Creek, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
