Patrick J. Riibe
Patrick J. Riibe, 79, of Sioux City died Monday, April 20, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul-Louis Arts of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery at Hartington, Neb. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Riibe was born March 27, 1919, in Hartington, the son of Frank and Barbara (Manley) Riibe. He attended school in Hartington. He moved to Sioux City in 1933.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1939 to 1946.
In 1951, he moved from Sioux City to Hawthorne, Calif.
He married Barbara Buchanan on Aug. 6, 1955, in Hawthorne.
He was employed with Aero-Space Corporation in Hawthorne. The couple returned to Sioux City in 1989.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Hawthorne, the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Rita Kirchmeier; a brother, Vincent Riibe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Patrick; two sisters, Madeline Jueden and Sally Skarnulis; and four brothers, Joe, Gene, Michael and Sylvester.
Dorothy L. Sager
Dorothy L. Sager, 73, of Sioux City died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin J. Boes, pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Sager was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Jefferson, S.D., the daughter of Thomas and Caroline (Blange) Frisbie. She was raised on the family farm in Jefferson and moved to Sioux City.
She graduated from Central High School and attended White's Business School in Sioux City.
She married Glenn V. Sager on July 17, 1944, in Denver, Colo. He died Dec. 10, 1983, in Sioux City.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include four daughters, Joan Sager, Gale and her husband, Gerald Conrad, and Glenda and her husband, Robert Fredericksen, all of Sioux City, and Kay and her husband, Dave Grover, of Wheeling, Ill.; a son-in-law, Larry Heckert of Sioux City; a brother, Marvin Frisbie of California; a sister, Czerina Light of Dell Rapids, S.D.; 10 grandchildren, Celeste Bathurst, Chad and Clay Heckert, Guy and Melissa Dawdy, Troy Conrad, Tammi Petersen, Bobby and Nacole Fredericksen and Misty Smith; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carol Heckert; three brothers, Danny, Stanley and Thomas; and a sister, Doris.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Fredericksen, Clay and Chad Heckert, Troy Conrad, Guy Dawdy, Gerald Conrad and Larry Heckert.
Cora L. Wilkinson
Cora L. Wilkinson, 66, of Sioux City died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Morningside Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home.
Anna J. Tennis
Anna Jean Tennis, 97, of Sioux City died Monday, April 20, 1998, at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Berkemier Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill Muller of Riverside United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8:30 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tennis was born Oct. 10, 1900, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Hill) Sandoe. She graduated from Waterloo High School and moved to Sioux City in 1922.
She married Glenn Tennis on Nov. 10, 1922, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple made their home in Sioux City. He died Dec. 6, 1966.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Rowley of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Alan Rowley, Cheryl Knaack, Bill Corder and Debra Houser; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Beller; a grandson, Steven Rowley; and a great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Gaylen, Scott and Brad Knaack, Alan Rowley, Bill Corder, Danny Houser and Bob Beller.
Winifred B. Miller
Winifred B. Miller, Cuero, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, died Monday; Berkemier Funeral Home.
Carl T. Reinbold
LAWTON, Iowa - Carl T. Reinbold, 80, of rural Lawton died Saturday, April 18, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moville, Iowa, with Monsignor Roger J. Augustine officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m., at the church. McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Reinbold was born April 13, 1918, in Mapleton, Iowa, the son of Charles and Hilena (Kueney) Reinbold. He attended school in Anthon, Iowa.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1943.
He married Anna Paulsen (Riemenschneider) on Aug. 1, 1961, in Cherokee, Iowa. He had lived in Anthon, Cherokee and Sioux City before moving to Lawton in 1973.
Mr. Reinbold was employed with Schissel Manfacturing in Cherokee, Prince Manfacturing and Wincharger, and from 1965 until his retirement in 1980 he worked at Concrete Pipe Machinery.
He was a member of Immcaulate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; four stepsons, Dean Riemenschneider and his wife, Marlene, and Richard Riemenschneider, all of Pierson, Iowa, Larry Riemenschneider and his wife, Mary, of Lawton and Allan Riemenschneider and his wife, Gail, of Okoboji, Iowa; eight stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Newman of Anthon, Iowa, and Anna and her husband, Laurence Beaubien, of Jefferson, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Smith.
Pallbearers will be Dave, Vincent and Gary Beaubien, Ray Wilson, Chuck Cloud and Robert Kern.

MOVILLE, Iowa - Ernest Steffen, 68, of rural Moville died Sunday at his residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville.
Clarence W. Pearson
CONCORD, Neb. - Clarence W. Pearson, 91, of Concord died Sunday at Wakefield (Neb.) Health Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Concord. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Bressler-Humlicek Funeral Home in Wakefield. Visitation will resume from 7 to 9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the church.
Janice Hanson
EMERSON, Neb. - Janice Mae Hanson, 71, of Emerson died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cornerstone Assembly Church in Pender, Neb., with the Rev. Ralph Youngman officiating. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery at Wakefield, Neb. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Bressler-Humlicek Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Mrs. Hanson was born July 28, 1926, in Wasau, Neb., the daughter of Ruben and Esther (Windell) Anderson. She graduated from Wasau High School and attended Wayne State College, receiving her degree in home economics in 1953.
She taught school near Randolph, Neb.
She married Melvin Hanson on June 12, 1954. The couple made their home on the family farm.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters and their husbands, Lois and Ray Pirozek of Sioux City, Mary Ann and Kirk Bryne of Wakefield and Sharon and Tom Duff of Breda, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, Harley and Lois Anderson of Wasau and Leon and Dahlonna Anderson of Fort Worth, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda and Kayla Pirozek, Rebecca and Daniel Simpson and Andrew and Jonathon Duff.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and an infant brother; an infant son, Daniel; and a son-in-law, Jeff Simpson.
Edythe M. Hanson
WAKEFIELD, Neb. - Edythe M. Hanson, 96, of Wakefield died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Wakefield Health Care Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Presbyterian Church in Wakefield, with the Rev. Susan Banholzer officiating. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m., at Bressler-Humlicek Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Mrs. Hanson was born Jan. 1, 1902, near Wakefield, the daughter of Charles A. and Cora (Brown) Kinney. She attended Wakefield schools, graduating from Wakefield High School in 1921. She attended the Methodist School of Nursing in Omaha, Neb., receiving her nursing degree in September 1925.
She was employed as the county nurse for Wayne County before working at Dr. Coe's office and Wakefield Community Hospital.
She married John W. Hanson on Sept. 12, 1935. He died Sept. 29, 1960.
She served as chairman of the Office of Nurses Association of Nebraska for eight years and was a delegate to the national convention for five years.
She was a member of Goldenrod Chapter of the Eastern Star, holding all officies, the Hather 38, the Temple of Daughters of the Nile in Sioux City, the Wakefield American Legion Auxiliary, the Wakefield Presbyterian Church and the Ruth Circle.
Survivors include a sister, Genevieve Koenes of Seattle, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Edd, Jack, Busty, Dutch, Pete and Marvin in infancy, and three sisters, Marguerite Peabody, Phyllis Moore and Harriet Otte.
Velma J. Poulsen
MILFORD, Iowa - Velma June Poulsen, 81, of Milford, formerly of Spencer, Iowa, died Saturday at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Spencer. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City. There will be a Fellowship at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sioux City at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today, with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Warner Funeral Home in Spencer.

MOREHEAD, Iowa - Terry Lee, 25, of Morehead died Saturday at an Omaha, Neb., hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morehead Christian Church. Burial will be in Soldier Valley Cemetery at Pisgah, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa, Iowa.
Glen Wilson
MILFORD, Iowa - Glen Wilson, 84, of Milford died Sunday at Milford Nursing Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Milford. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at Turner Funeral Home in Milford.
Gladys M. Fields
SANTEE, Neb. - Gladys M. Fields, 52, of Santee died Monday, April 20, 1998, at a South Sioux City nursing home following a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Santee Community Gymnasium, with the Rev. Mercy Hobbs of Our Most Merciful Savior Church in Santee officiating. Burial will be in Congregational Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, with a wake service at 8 p.m., at the gymnasium. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Fields was born Dec. 15, 1945, in Winnebago, Neb., the daughter of Joseph and Rachel (Frazier) James. She attended Sioux City schools.
She married Leslie Fields. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Tracy of Sioux City; two daughters, Angel Thomas of South Sioux City and Jessica Scott of Santee; three brothers, Kenny, Gene and Bobby Jo Frazier, all of Sioux City; three sisters, Brenda, Juanita and Myra Frazier, all of Sioux City; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Yolanda Thomas; and her stepfather, Melvin Frazier of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jason and Joey Lee; and a brother, Milton Frazier.
Pallbearers will be John Taylor, Daniel Denney, Robert Frazier, Nate Gilpin, Wilford Kitto and Harold LaPoint.
Marvin Krogman
KINGSLEY, Iowa - Marvin Krogman, 48, of Kingsley died Saturday, April 18, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley, with the Rev. James Fangman officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Nash Post 140 of Kingsley. Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. today, with a rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Krogman wass born Feb. 18, 1950, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Milo and Marvel (Cuthrell) Krogman. He graduated from Kingsley-Pierson High School in 1968. He then attended Nettleton Business Training College in Sioux City.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He married Karen Nugent on June 16, 1973, in Kingsley. The couple lived in Breda and Ida Grove, Iowa, and the past 21 years in Kingsley.
He was employed as the outside foreman with Kingsley Farmers Elevator for 17 years.
He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, American Legion Nash Post 140 and the Kingsley Golf Club and was a former Kingsley Volunteer Fire Department member. He ejoyed dancing, singing and bowling.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael and Matthew, both at home; two daughters, Mindy and Michelle, both at home; his father and stepmother, Milo and Margaret of Kingsley; his grandmother, Lois (Cuthrell) Kowalski of Sioux City; two sisters and their husbands, Marilyn and Tim Pridie of Odebolt, Iowa, and Nancy and Denny Bainbridge of Kingsley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Krogman; and maternal grandfather, Ed Cuthrell.
Thomas V. Sullivan
Thomas Vincent "Barney" Sullivan, 75, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Ponca and Newcastle, Neb., died March 22, 1998, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Sullivan was the son of Tom and Mae (O'Neill) Sullivan. He farmed in the Ponca area and had a hardware store at Newcastle. He retired from the J.C. Penney Co. in Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; three daughters and their husbands, Dolores and Mike Maxwell of Plano, Jeannie and Art Gibson of The Colony, Texas, and Joni and Randy Reed of Crowley, Texas; a brother and his wife, Neil and Iva Sullivan of South Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Helen Dennis of Nocona, Texas, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Johnson.
Harry H. Bonnema
LE MARS, Iowa - Harry H. Bonnema, 80, of Le Mars died Sunday at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church E.L.C.A. in Le Mars. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Wasmar American Legion Post 241 of Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Bernard Weyer
HAWARDEN, Iowa - Bernard Weyer, 70, of Hawarden died Sunday at Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden.

HAWARDEN, Iowa - Dawn Norma Irene Gray, infant daughter of Shane and Darla Gray of Hawarden, was stillborn Saturday at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in McCook Cemetery at North Sioux City. Berkemier Funeral Home of Sioux City is in charge of the arrangements.
