Linda K. Durant
Linda Kay Durant, 43, of Sioux City died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin M. Richter officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Durant was born Oct. 10, 1954, in Sioux City, the daughter of Lloyd J. and Betty E. (Ouellette) Schonrock Sr. She graduated from Western Iowa Tech. Community College with an associate arts degree.
She married Raymond E. Durant in 1990, in Sioux City. She was employed with Bomgaars.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and enjoyed girl's high school and college basketball.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bobby Schonrock and Dennis Decelle, both of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; four brothers, Lloyd Schonrock Jr. and his wife, Eileen, Larry Schonrock and his wife, Cheryl, and Duane Schonrock, all of Sioux City, and Roger Schonrock and his wife, Cindy, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth Ann Elgert and Chris Stettnicks, both of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Natacha Decelle.
Pallbearers will be Bobby, Lloyd J., Larry and Duane Schonrock, Dennis Decelle and Fred Goreham.

Jonathan E. Warntjes
HULL, Iowa - Jonathan E. Warntjes, 14, of Sioux Falls, S.D., formerly of Hull, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, at the Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sioux Falls Christian High School. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Hull. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m., at the high school. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls.
Jonathan was born June 18, 1984, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the son of Jerry Warntjes and Eloise Sikma. He attended Hull Christian Grammer School to the fifth grade and transfered to Calvin Christian Grade School. He attended one year at Sioux Falls Christian Middle School.
He attended First Christian Reformed Church in Hull and was a member of Shalom Christian Reformed Church and was active in the youth group at the church. He enjoyed basketball and other sports.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Eloise and Gary Sikma of Sioux Falls; his father and stepmother, Jerry and Lori Warntjes of Burlington, Wis.; a brother, Dustin; a sister, Christin Warntjes; four stepsisters, Jessica, Erica and Kayla Sikma and Erin Anderson; a stepbrother, Ryan Anderson; his grandparents, Harold and Tressa DeWit and John and Eleanor Warntjes, all of Hull; and his stepgrandparents, Jim and Betty Sikma of Hull and Ordie and Clarice Mayer.
Irma Fiene
CHARTER OAK, Iowa - Irma Fiene, 93, of Charter Oak died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Burial will be in Charter Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Huebner Funeral Home in Charter Oak.
Miss Fiene attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Charter Oak Community High School in 1923. She received her bachelor degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
She taught school for 50 years. She also taught Sunday School and Bible Classes for 20 years.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she was the organist and directed the womens choir for 10 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and Crawford County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include a sister, Esther Deur of McKinney, Texas.
Clarence Klaver
SANBORN, Iowa - Clarence Klaver, 80, of Sanborn died Saturday at the Sibley Care Center in Sibley, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christian Refomed Church in Sanborn. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Sanborn Funeral Home.
Frances D. Friedrich
ALTA, Iowa - Frances Doris Friedrich, 79, of Alta died Saturday at Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St John Lutheran Church, rural Alta. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home in Alta.

Arthur W. Anderson

Arthur W. Anderson, 85, formerly of Sioux City died of a heart attack Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at a Richland, Wash., hospital.
Services and burial will be in Richland.
Mr. Anderson was born June 16, 1913, in Sioux City, the son of Carl F. and Laura (Hultman) An-derson. He was raised in the Riverside area and attended Riverview School, West Junior High School and Central High School.
He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II as a surgical technician. Following his discharge, he moved to Richland.
He married Teckla Barreth on Sept. 18, 1954, in Richland.
He was employed with the U.S. Postal Department for 33 years, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of Westside Presbyterian Church in Richland.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Esther Hill of Portal, N.D., and Hilma Sloane of Sioux City; two brothers, Arnold V. Anderson and his wife, Joycelyn, of Livermore, Calif., and Victor A. Anderson of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gerda Skidmore.
William H. Davis
William H. "Bill" Davis, 54, of Lockport, Ill., formerly of Sioux City, died of a heart attack Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998, at his residence.
Services were held Aug. 5 at Anderson Memorial Chapel in Lockport. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born in Sioux City and attended school here.
He was employed in the transportation industry for 35 years.
He moved to Lockport 15 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Louise; five sons, Robert Regan and his wife, Cheryl, Chad Davis and his wife, Holly, Kevin Regan and his wife, Theresa, and Blake and Christopher Davis; a daughter and her husband, Lori and Gary Suski; eight grandchildren; and a sister and her husband, Caryl and Joe Banks.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Anna Wanned
Anna Wanned, 89, of Sioux City died Sunday at Countryside Retirement Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Elsie M. Duffy
Elsie M. Duffy, 90, of South Sioux City died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann Cemetery, Dixon, Neb. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, South Sioux City, with the Rev. David Liewer officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 8:30 p.m. today, with a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. followed by a family rosary, at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.
Mrs. Duffy was born May 12, 1908, in Laurel, Neb., the daughter of David and Mary (Tiedeman) French.
She married Tom Duffy in 1925, in Dixon. He died in 1959 in Sioux City.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Lyle of South Sioux City and Earl and his wife, Darlene, of Pender, Neb.; a daughter and her husband, Verna and Vern Johnson of Sioux City; a brother, Vernie French of California; a sister, Helen Wolfe of California; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Tom, Lynn, Bob, Marvin and Earl; a sister, Louise; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Ed McQuistan, Mark Richard and Mike, Pat, Shane and David Duffy.
Thomas A. Nickum
The Rev. Thomas Alvin Nickum, 83, of Hanford, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died of a heart attack Saturday in Hanford.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Seventh Day Advantist Church in Hanford. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. California arrangements are under the direction of People's Funeral Chapel in Hanford.
Francis D. Spain
Francis D. Spain, 80, of Sioux City died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Geelan officiating. The body will be cremated at a later date. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.
Mr. Spain was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Petersville, Iowa, the son of Daniel and Alice (O'Farrel) Spain.
He was raised in the Charlotte, Iowa, area, graduating from Charlotte High School in 1936. He lived in Clinton County before moving to Sioux City in 1953.
He married Connie Hamblin on March 15, 1945, in Clinton, Iowa.
He worked as a route man for Roberts Dairy in Sioux City and owned and operated the Dunes Bar in North Sioux City for many years. He later owned the Paxton Tap in Sioux City, retiring in 1983.
The couple had been winter residents of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., for the past 13 years.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a former member of the church's Men's Club. He was also a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He organized the first chapter of the National Cribbage League in Sioux City.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael and his wife, Benita, of San Francisco, Larry of Tucson, Ariz., and Phil and Craig, both of Sioux City; two daughters, Janelle Spain and Theresa and her husband, Bryan Goodman, all of Sioux City; three grandchildren, Zak Spain, Dorian Spain-Lavender and Emily Spain-Lavender; and a sister, Mary Alice Brick of Clinton.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Artie and Joey; and two sisters, Kathryn Spain and Sister Mary Fleurette, OSF.
Pallbearers will be Jack Walding, Mike Borschuk, Charlie Lanphier, Lee Mingo, Craig Estee, Kurt Estee and Micky McGuire.

Leona L. Reinhold, 93, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday in Plano following a lengthy illness.

William Harder
PONCA, Neb. - William "Bill" Harder, 88, of Ponca died Sunday at Elms Health Care Center in Ponca.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Ponca. Burial will be in Silver Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today, with the family present 2 to 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca.
Reva Van Den Berg
ROCK VALLEY, Iowa - Reva Van Den Berg, 68, of Rock Valley died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Netherland's Reformed Church in Rock Valley, with the Rev. John den Hoed officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, with the family present 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
Mrs. Van Den Berg was born Sept. 18, 1929, near Doon, Iowa, the daughter of Gerrit and Winnie (Hup) Maassen. She attended country school near Doon.
She married Albertus "Al" Van Den Berg on July 18, 1947, near Rock Valley. The couple famred near Rock Valley, until moving into Rock Valley in 1970.
She was employed at Valley Manor Nursing Home and as a clerk with various businesses in Rock Valley.
She was a member of Netherland's Reformed Church and Martha Mission Guild. She enjoyed quilting.
Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Gary and Norma of Rock Valley; a daughter and her husband, Arlene and Wayne Van Voorst of Sioux Center, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Gerrit and Marilyn Maassen of Jenison, Mich.; a sister and her husband, JoAnn and Gary Van Beek of Inwood, Iowa; six grandchildren, Curt and Alex Van Voorst, Kristi Hoogendoorn and Heather, Craig and Aaron Van Den Berg; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Glenn.

ALVORD, Iowa - Hilda Friedrichsen, 94, of Alvord died Sunday at Fellowship Village in Inwood, Iowa.
