Christina L. Windsor, 85, of Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998, in Waterloo.

Services were held Saturday, Dec. 12, at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Sioux City. Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Arrangements were under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home in Waterloo.

Vern E. Niebuhr
Vern E. Niebuhr, 85, of Sel Valle, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday in Del Valle.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Austin, Texas. Burial will be in Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Gladys M. Olson
Gladys M. Olson, 89, of Sioux City died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Donohue Sarff and Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mrs. Olson was born May 1, 1909, in Shabbona, Ill., the daughter of Andrew and Martha (Borgenvik) Berg. She graduated from Shabbona High School and attended teachers college.

She married Gerhard Olson on Oct. 29, 1932, in Shabbona. The couple moved from Huron, S.D. to Sioux City in 1947.

She was employed in the china department of Younkers for 19 years.

She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and various women's organizations in the church. She was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Martha and Tom Morley of Sioux City and Deanna and Denis Zimmerman of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren, Monica Haines, Leslie Muston, Andrea Raasch, Andrew, Eric and Ryan Zimmerman; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph and Carl Berg and an infant brother; and four sisters, Anna Jarvis, Carrie Schwebe, Josie Rompf and Mabel Jordal.

Pallbearers will be Jon Muston, David Raasch, Ramon and Paul Horton, Andrew and Eric Zimmerman.

Charles W. Ramsey
Charles W. "Chuck" Ramsey, 63, of Sioux City died Monday at a Sioux City nursing home following a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Logan Park Cemetery. There will be no vistation. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.

Addie M. Swessinger
Addie M. Swessinger, 102, of Sioux City died Monday at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehabiliation Center.

Graveside services will be at a later date in Logan Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Kenneth D. Gonsalves
Kenneth D. "Preacher" Gonsalves, 47, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunrise Manor, with the Rev. Elem Ford officiating. The body was cre-mated. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemier Funeral Home.

Mr. Gonsalves was born April 16, 1951, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Manuel and Margaret (Sayers) Gonsalves.

He graduated from Warren High School and later from the University of Ohio. He moved to Sioux City in 1985.

He married Elaine Lesner on Dec. 10, 1992, in Sioux City.

He was employed with Thomas Carnivals, Sioux City Engineering and later with Schaeff Inc.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife; a brother and his wife, Rick and Darlene Young of Warren, Ohio; four sisters, Debbie and her husband, Jack Whalen, of Cortland, Ohio, Cyd and her husband, Jack Nice, Hope Metzler and Lonie Young and her husband, Chris Cope, all of Warren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Hanna N. Gilman
Hanna Nora Gilman, 103, of Valley, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday at Valhaven Nursing Home in Valley.

Services were held Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Valley. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City.

Margaret Miller, 80, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday; Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

John C. Seek
John C. Seek, 84, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday; Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Muriel Pestel
WISNER, Neb. - Muriel Pestel, 75, of Wisner died Saturday at St. Frances Memorial Hosptial in West Point, Neb.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisner. Burial will be in Wisner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Kuzelka Funeral Home in Wisner.

Joseph Huisinga
DENISON, Iowa - Joseph Huisinga, 86, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, formerly of Denison, died Saturday at Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Burial will be in Crawford Heights Memory Gardens.

Henry E. Elgersma
SANBORN, Iowa - Henry Edward "Hank" Elgersma, 84, of Sanborn died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sanborn Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. Dale Fopma officiating. Burial will be in Roseland Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Earl T. Conway Post 318 of Sanborn. Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Sanborn Funeral Home.

Mr. Elgersma was born Feb. 12, 1914, in May City, Iowa, the son of Peter and Cynthia (Hofland) Elgersma. He was raised and received his education in Sanborn.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945, stationed in the Pacific Theater, during World War II.

He married Angeline (Heemstra) Vander Wilt on Dec. 10, 1947, in Sanborn.

He was employed in the trucking business, later owning and operating Keen Korner Oil Co. in Sheldon, Iowa. He than owned Sheldon Transport, which he operated until retiring.

He was a member of Sanborn Christian Reformed Church, where he served as a deacon and on the CRC Building Committee. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and bowling.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Jay and Darlene of Sheldon; two daughters and their husbands, Trudy and Paul Anema of Sanborn and Shirley and Marlin Broek of Mesa, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jessie Vos of Sanborn.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jake; and a grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Dan Anema, Scott, Mike, Jamie and Cory Elgersma and Bruce Heynen.

PRIMGHAR, Iowa - Dale E. Hansen, 72, of Primghar died Monday at Baum-Harmon Hospital in Primghar.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Primghar. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Primghar.

CROFTON, Neb. - Mernie K. Hilfiker, 86, of Crofton died Tuesday at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crofton. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, Neb. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton.

Emma Holmes
EMERSON, Neb. - Emma Holmes, 92, of Emerson died Tuesday at Heritage of Emerson Home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bressler-Humlicek Funeral Home in Wakefield, Neb. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Emerson. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Audrey Kohn
HARTLEY, Iowa - Audrey Kohn, 73, of Hartley died Tuesday at her residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hartley. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Friday at Sanborn Funeral Home in Sanborn, Iowa. There will be a family visitation and a parish Scripture service at 7 p.m. Friday at the church.

Donald Zimmer
BOYER, Iowa - Donald George "Cactus" Zimmer, 75, of Boyer died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Vail, Iowa. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with a Legion of Mary rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a parish wake service at 7:30 p.m., at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison, Iowa.

Mr. Zimmer was born Sept. 5, 1923, near Aspinwall, Iowa, the son of George and Zella (Brasel) Zimmer. He graduated from St. Ann's Catholic High School in 1941.

He married Betty Koenck on June 4, 1945 in Vail. The couple lived on a farm near Boyer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking.

Survivors include his wife; three sons and their wives, Francis and Vicki of Deloit, Iowa, Chuck and Pat of Leonard, Texas, and Dale and Judy of Kiron, Iowa; four daughters and their husbands, Donna and Roger Galles of Remsen, Iowa, Karen and Bob Reisz of Denison, Iowa, Mary Jane and Joe Siegner of Vail and Joan and Brent Bauer of Audubon, Iowa; a son-in-law, Neil Reising of Wall Lake, Iowa; 38 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Naurine Schultz of Olpe, Kan., Betty Crane of Schleswig, Iowa, and Waldean Rice of Seattle, Wash.; and two brothers, Gene of Omaha, Neb., and Duane of Schleswig.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Keith; a daughter, Susan Reising; and a brother, Harold.

Lilly Schultz
KIRON, Iowa - Lilly Schultz, 93, of Kiron died Monday at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kiron. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison.

Evelyn Siderius
BOYDEN, Iowa - Evelyn Siderius, 78, of Orange City, Iowa, formerly of Boyden, died Monday at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Reformed Church in Boyden. Burial will be in Sheridan Township Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Boyden.

Dick Van Maanen
ROCK VALLEY, Iowa - Dick Van Maanen, 82, of Rock Valley died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Reformed Church in Rock Valley, with the Rev. C. Eric Fennema officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today, with the family present 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.

Mr. Van Maanen was born Aug. 17, 1916, near Rock Valley, the son of Dick and Dena (Vrymoet) Van Maanen. He attended Christian School in Rock Valley.

He served in the U.S. Army for three and a half years during World War II, as a military policeman, stationed in Italy and Africa.

He married Henrietta Postma on Feb. 14, 1947, near Rock Valley. The couple farmed in the Rock Valley area, until retiring to Rock Valley in 1980.

He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Dennis and Audrey of Hull, Iowa; three daughters, Geneva and her husband, Bob Tronnes, of Minneapolis, Minn., Audrey and her husband, Earl Schuld, of Woodstock, Minn., and Lorna Van Maanen of Rock Valley; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gerrit D., John D. and Henry D.; and two sisters, Gertie Van't Hul and Henrietta Kempema.

Howard McGuire
PENDER, Neb. - Howard McGuire, 75, of Pender died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, at Pender Community Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Church of Pender, with the Rev. Susan Banholzer officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today at Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender.

Mr. McGuire was born July 27, 1923, in Pender, the son of Paul and Ada (Grubb) McGuire. He attended country school and graduated from Wakefield (Neb.) High School.

He married Mary Cooper on Aug. 25, 1945, in Lucedal, Miss.

He served in the armed forces. Following his discharge, he was employed with Pacific Gas and Electric Co. in California for 37 years, retiring in March 1983. The couple moved to Pender in 1994.

He was a member of American Legion, Shriners, Scottish Rites, Veterans of Freign Wars and Masons.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Lannie and Susan of Portland, Ore., and Bobby Joe and Sandy of Gulfport, Miss.; six grandchildren, Joanne, Howard, Chris, Paul, Phillip and Lorry; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Eldon and his wife, Deloris, of Pender and James of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles.
