Myrtle C. Bennett
Myrtle C. Bennett, 82, of Sioux City died Sunday at her residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Willard G. Kohler
Willard G. "Bill" Kohler, 78, of Sioux City died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michaels Catholic Church, with the Rev. Lawrence McCarty officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Monohan Post 64. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 9 p.m. and a Scriptural service at 7:30 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Kohler was born April 15, 1920, in Kersey, Colo., the son of George and Grace (Hofstetter) Kohler. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Ethel Wolterman on Oct. 19, 1944, in Danbury, Iowa. He was employed with Roberts Dairy and the City of Sioux City.

He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Gary and Debbie of Guthrie, Okla.; three daughters and their husbands, Lynn and Ron Sanger of New Orleans, La., Debra and Thomas Heck of Sioux City and Rochelle and Terry Heck of Sergeant Bluff; a brother, Jess of Greeley, Colo.; two sisters, Marple McCreery of Broomfield, Colo., and Arlene Greenwood of McClean, Va.; seven grandchildren, Michele Newburn, Corey, Jennifer and Matthew Heck, Brent Sanger, Stacey Hattermann and Samuel Kohler; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Gayle Jean; two brothers, Roy and Clyde; and a sister, Retha.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Harold J. Richardson
Harold J. Richardson, 72, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998 at home after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. to day at Augustana Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Last officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with graveside rites by the Morningside American Legion Post 697. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Richardson was born July 29, 1926 in Sioux City, the son of Guy Nathan and Verna (Thomas) Richardson. He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Rosalie F. Johnson on Oct. 25, 1964, in Hornick, Iowa. He held various jobs in and around Sioux City. He was employed at Marian Health Center for 18 years at a painter in the maintenance department, retiring in May 1993.

He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nancy and Amy Richardson, both of Sioux City; several nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Daniel; two brothers, Earl and Doyle and two sisters, Laura and Velma.

Pallbearers will be Victor Voloshen, Charles Bales, Dave Midland, Alex Smith, Bob O'Connell and Marvin Olson.

Grace Kistner
Grace Kistner, 83, of Sioux City died Sunday; Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

James W."Bill" Moughan
James W."Bill" Moughan, 89, of Ellisville, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, died Friday; Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Joyce M. Murray
ONAWA, Iowa - Joyce M. Murray, 64, of Onawa died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Mrs. Murray was born March 11, 1934, in Moneta, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Elva (Trojahn) Lorenzen. She graduated from Everly (Iowa) High School in 1951, and attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa for two years.

She married Marvin Wayne Murray on Nov. 23, 1952, in Jackson, Minn. The couple moved to Onawa in 1962. She was employed as a secretary with Monona County Abstract Office, Robert Underhill and Richard Mock Attorneys at Law and Fouts Chiropractic, all in Onawa and as a clerk with Jubiliee Foods in Onawa. She retired in June 1998. He died May 26, 1990, in Onawa.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Jill and her husband, Marv Hausman, Valarie Murray and her fiance, Randy Ping, and Peggy and her husband, Jeff Rolph, all of Onawa, Jody and her husband, John Hardison, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Marjorie and her husband, Doug Jaminet, of Sioux City; four sons and their wives, Jaimie and Rhonda, Edward and Amy and Steven and Teresa, all of Onawa, and Jeffrey and Lynn of Sergeant Bluff; 19 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother and his wife, Dale and Karen Lorenzen of Naperville, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Cliff and William Murray and his wife, Claire; and two sisters-in-law, Marjorie and her husband, Perry Cedarholm, and Verleen Murray.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Marvin Wayne Jr in infancy.

Robert Fulton
SIBLEY, Iowa - Robert Fulton, 62, of Sibley died Saturday at his residence.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley. There will be no visitation.

Stanley J. Christensen
BERESFORD, S.D. - Stanley J. Christensen, 86, of Beresford died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Bethesda Nursing Home in Beresford.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Beresford Zion United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Beresford Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Wass Funeral Home in Beresford.

Mr. Christensen was born April 1, 1912, in Beresford, the son of Peter A. and Kristine Christensen. He attended school in Beresford. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe.

He married Lois G. Cressey on Aug. 17, 1953, in Sioux City. He was employed with John Deere in Beresford from 1950 until retiring in 1976. Following his retirement, he worked part time for the City of Beresford for several years.

He was a member of Beresford Zion United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion of Beresford.

Survivors include his wife; a brother and his wife, Peter A. and Eleanor of Vermillion, S.D.; a sister, Martha Anderson of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Christensen of Vermillion; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Melancon of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Phyllis L. Runkle
UTE, Iowa - Phyllis L. Runkle, 74, of Missouri Valley, Iowa, formerly of Ute, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Rose Vista Care Center in Woodbine, Iowa.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Missouri Valley, with the Rev. David Masten officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 7 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hennessey, Van Cleave and Hurley Funeral Home in Missouri Valley.

Mrs. Runkle was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Ute, the daughter of Fred E. and Anna (Kiepe) Mohr.

She married Donald Runkle on Feb. 19, 1950, in Ute. She had lived in Missouri Valley for many years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and had been a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheila Runkle of Jefferson, Iowa; a son, Dayle of Jefferson; four sisters, Edna John of Ute, Ruth Strait of Battle Creek, Iowa, Marcella Kuehl of Mapleton, Iowa, and Barbara Timms of Ute; and a brother, Fred Mohr of Ute.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Wendy M. Bauer
CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa - Wendy Marie Bauer, 18, of Correctionville died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, of injuries suffered in a automobile accident.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, with the Rev. Consorcia A. Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Wendy was born Aug. 5, 1980, in Sioux City, the daughter of Kenneth and Kim (Dawdy) Bauer. She attended Sioux City schools until moving with her family to Corectionville in 1994. She graduated from River-Valley High School in 1998. She was attending Western Iowa Tech Community College, studing general business and was employed at Caseys in Correctionville. She enjoyed music, art and character drawing.

Survivors include her parents; four brothers, Jeremy of Sioux City, Nathaniel, Joshua and Todd of Correctionville; three sisters, Christina, Valerie and Amber, all of Correctionville; maternal grandparents, Chuck and Beverly Dawdy of Sioux City; paternal grandparents, Francis and Ethel Bauer of Pierson, Iowa; great-grandmother, Fanny Dawdy; and a nephew.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bolles, Bill O'Connell, Nathan Shever, Bob Beazley, Pat Langschwager, T.J. and Jason Bauer and Breton Heald.

Dell H. Vollers
PENDER, Neb. - Dell H. Vollers, 71, of Sioux City, formerly of Pender, died of cancer Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at his residence.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Covenant Church of Pender, with the Revs. Roger Edwards and Joseph Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Vollers was born Dec. 7, 1926, in Pender, the son of Carl H. and Martha (Stalling) Vollers. He was raised in Pender and worked at his father's car dealership as a mechanic. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Lorraine Beckman on June 20, 1954, in Pender. He owned and operated Vollers and Son Ford dealership in Pender. The couple recently moved to Sioux City.

He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in North Sioux City, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion both of Pender. He served on the board of directors for Countryside Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Lon Hale of Savonburg, Kan., Karen and Barry Molencupp of Rockford, Ill., and Lori and Cliff Teel of Hornick, Iowa; a son and his wife, Dr. Kurt and Rachel of Central City, Neb.; a brother, Carl of Pender; three sisters and their husbands, Verna and A.B. Van Kley of Pender, Carol and Waldo Harris of Washington, Ga., and Donna and Lugene Cromer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and 16 grandchildren, Krista, David, Kara, Matthew and Jonathan Hale, Mark, Stephanie, Janell, Karissa, Ryan, Laura and Joylynn Molencupp, Kaleb, Rachelle, Karl and Sarah Vollers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Jordan; and an infant sister.
