Olive D. Lacey
Olive D. Lacey, 100, of Sioux City died Friday Feb. 13, 1998, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Rev. Morris Russell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lacey was born Oct. 18, 1897, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Iddings) Nourse, in Mapleton, Iowa. She married Herbert R. Lacey on Feb. 26, 1916, in Sioux City. He died Feb. 12, 1980.
She was a charter member of Northside Alliance Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Evonne and her husband, Marvin Weiner, of Sioux City, and Miriam Thirstrup, of Yuma, Ariz.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Susan Hall of Humboldt, Iowa, Helen McDole of Sioux City, and Florence Krosean of Marysville, Calif.
She was preceded in death by two children, one granddaughter, and five brothers.
Memorials may be directed to the Northside Alliance Church.
Thomas Foley
Thomas Michael "Mike" Foley, 80, of Sioux City died Thursday Feb. 12, 1998, at Westwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. Marvin J. Boes officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mr. Foley was born April 23, 1917, the son of Joseph and Rose (Mc Guirk) Foley, in Newcastle, Neb. He moved to Jackson, Neb. as a youth and graduated from St. Catherine's Academy there. He farmed in the Jackson area until 1966. He married Vera P. Abramo on April 11, 1966, in Sioux City. The couple then moved to Sioux City. He was employed by Concrete Pipe, Sioux City Transit System, and Marian Health Center, retiring in 1987.
He was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; four step-sons, Larry Jones and his wife, Jeanne, Michael Abramo and his wife, Joann, Frank Abramo and his wife, Susie, and Joseph Abramo, all of Sioux City; a step-daughter, Theresa and her husband, Paul DeLange, of Algona, Iowa; a sister, Rose Mc Gowen of Jackson, Neb.; 14 grandchildren, Angela Lutter, Chris Carl, Lari Adair, Louis Jones, Jeanne Jones, Bob DeLange, Pete DeLange, Kevin DeLange, Mark DeLange, Jessie Abramo, Jennie Abramo, Frank Abramo, Sal Abramo, and Kelsey Abramo; 16 great-grandchildren; four nephews; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Gertrude Foley in infancy, Sarah Foley who was Sister Lilia, a Dominican nun, and Benetta Kleespies.
Pallbearers will be Angela Lutter, Lari Adair, Bob DeLange, Pete DeLange, Kevin DeLange, and Mark DeLange.
George Fourkiller
George James Fourkiller, infant son of Desmond DuMarce and Sandra Fourkiller, died Friday at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alfred W. Gilpin Community Center in Macy, Neb. Burial will be in Fremont Family Cemetery. Native American services began Saturday, continuing until 10 a.m. Tuesday at the VFW in Macy. Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa is in charge of the arrangements.
Helen Waller
Helen Elizabeth Waller, 63, of Sioux City died Thursday in Houston, Texas of Leukemia.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Allen D. Call officiating. Burial will be in Sioux Narrows Cemetery in Sioux Narrows, Ontario, Canada. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Waller was born Sept. 3, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Martha (Fellingham) Haize, in Chicago. She received her B.S. degree from Kansas University and her master's degree from the University of South Dakota. She married William W. Waller on Dec. 27, 1960, in Independence, Mo. She was a teacher for the Sioux City schools for many years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Iowa State Education Association, and Chapter CZ, P.E.O.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, United Church Women, and summer member of United Church of Canada, Sioux Narrows.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, William E. and his wife, Hyon-Suk, of Leavenworth, Kan., and Thomas G. and his wife, Talese, of Seattle; a daughter, Elizabeth R. and her husband, Christopher Lovin, of Bowlingbrook, Ill.; three sisters, Carol Ross of Whitewater, Wis., Anne Rucker of Kansas City, and Marilyn and her husband, Don Hardy, of McLouth, Kan.; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Soelberg, Stan Frerichs, Jim Hoey, Doug Oss, Gene Ulrich, and David Hardy.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church.

Norman E. Luschen
EMERSON, Neb. - Norman E. Luschen, 66, of Emerson died Friday Feb. 13, 1998, at Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Neb.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson with Rev. Kenneth Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pender. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson.
Mr. Luschen was born Oct. 18, 1931, the son of Henry and Mildred (Hoier) Luschen. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Maureen Peters in Emerson on June 17, 1956, after which the couple lived near Emerson. They lived in Emerson for the past 14 years. He was last employed at the D.V. Industries in Pender.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Owen of Ewing, Neb., and Chad and his wife, Sarah, of Wayne, Neb.; two daughters and their husbands, Grace Ann and Jerry Nieman of Divide, Colo., and June and Doug Koester of Carroll, Neb.; his mother, Mildred Heyne of Pender; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Dennis and Jim.
Etta Kramer
GEORGE, Iowa - Etta Kramer, 93, of George died Saturday at the George Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in rural George. Burial will be in First Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. Monday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Bolin Funeral Home in George.
Eilert Goldhorn
GEORGE, Iowa - Eilert Goldhorn, 94, of George died Saturday at George Good Samaritan Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hope Reformed Church in rural George. Burial will be in the Hope Reformed Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. Monday with the family present from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bolin Funeral Home in George.
Agnes Waldschmitt
REMSEN, Iowa - Agnes Waldschmitt, 81, of Remsen died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday with a rosary at 3 p.m. by the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.
Mrs. Waldschmitt was born Dec. 5, 1916, the daughter of Casper and Anna (Deters) Freking, in rural Le Mars, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the Le Mars area, graduating from St. Joseph's High School in 1935. She married Ray Waldschmitt on Feb. 17, 1941, in Le Mars. They lived in Remsen until 1948 when they moved to rural Remsen and farmed until retiring and moving into Remsen in 1973. She had been a resident of the Happy Siesta Health Care Center since Sept. 1997.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sister Shirley Waldschmitt, O.S.F., of Las Cruces, N.M., and Jane and her husband, Philip Ortmann, of Sioux City; four sons and their wives, Gerald and Jean, David and Donna, all of Remsen, Thomas and Margaret of Ankeny, Iowa, and James and Elaine of Johnston, Iowa; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Caroline Freking of Le Mars; and two brothers, Greg Freking and Leo Freking and his wife, Therese, all of Le Mars.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Joseph, and Bernard Freking; and two sisters, Mary Haverkamp and Frances Bohnenkamp.

DENISON, Iowa - O.B. "Bud" Rumble, 77, of Denison died Friday at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. Burial will be at the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday with a Legion of Mary rosary at 5 p.m., a wake service at 7 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:30 p.m. at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison.
Donald E. Fritzsche
PRIMGHAR, Iowa - Donald E. Fritzsche, 78, of Primghar died Saturday at Primghar Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Church of Primghar. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Monday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home in Primghar.
Paul P. Henrich
LE MARS, Iowa - Paul P. Henrich, 89, of Le Mars died Saturday at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars after a brief illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with an Altar Society rosary at 4 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m. at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars.
Helen James
WAYNE, Neb. - Helen James, 90, of Wayne died Thursday Feb. 12, 1998, at the Wayne Care Center in Wayne.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Wayne with Rev. Craig Holstedt officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at Schumacher Funeral Home in Wayne with a prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. James was born Oct. 7, 1907, the daughter of W.C. and Emilie (Leutzinger) Hensel, on a farm west of Hinton, Iowa. She attended kindergarten through eighth grade at Hinton Public School and graduated from Sioux City Central High School with a teacher's certificate in 1925. She attended college at Morningside College and Wayne State College. She graduated from Vocal Music and Piano in 1927. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Wayne State College in 1934 and her masters from the University of Nebraska in Supervision and Administration in 1961. She married Ross P. James on July 4, 1948 at her parents' home in Hinton.
She enjoyed the 42 years she spent in education. She taught school in Sioux City for 20 years, supervised student teachers at Wayne State College for nine years, was Wakefield High School principal for five years, was reading consultant for E.S.U.I. for six counties, and was elementary principal in South Sioux City for five years.
She was a member, Sunday school teacher, and choir member of Mayflower Congregational Church in Sioux City until 1948 when she became a member of Presbyterian Church in Wayne where she became an Elder. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in 1960 and as organist for 17 years. She was also past president of Acme Club, a member of Women's Club, Wayne Hospital Auxiliary, Wayne Area Retired Teachers, National Education Association, and Daughters of the Nile in Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, and a sister.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Etter, Robert Carhart, Greg Mosley, Merlin Sievers, Charles Carhart, and Stanley Hansen.
