June Parks
June Parks, 74, of Rogers, Ark., formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, with the Rev. Richard S. Oswald officiating. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Rogers.

Mrs. Parks was born June 4, 1923, in Sioux City, the daughter of Harry and Bertha (Kaarhus) Horstman.

She married Cyril "Cy" Parks. The couple owned and operated Court Street Variety Store in Sioux City. They moved to Rogers in 1977.

She worked on the Manhattan Project in Chicago, Ill., during the development of the atomic bomb.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and was active at the Hobac Senior Center in Bentonville, Ark.

She was a homemaker and an avid card player.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and their wives, Paul and Janet Parks of Rogers, Jim and Kathy Parks of Bentonville, and Tom and Beth Parks of Rogers; two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Mark Whisenhunt, and Mary and Paul Bushnell, all of Rogers; and 12 grandchildren, Julie, Charlie, John, Jerry, Robert, Michelle, Kathy, Shannon, David, Eric, Jacob, and Sarah.

Robert E. Knowles
Robert E. Knowles, 65, of Sioux City died Friday, Jan. 10, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. James Mosley and the Rev. George Naylor, both of the Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C., officiating. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Knowles was born July 30, 1932, in Sioux City the son of John and Agnes (Carlberg) Knowles. He attended Leeds High School.

He married Betty Harding on Sept. 15, 1951, in Sioux City.

He was employed at Wilson Trailer for over 25 years and then at Gordon Recovery Center until his health began to fail.

He was a lifelong resident of Sioux City and Dakota City, Neb.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Billie Jo Knowles, Robin and her husband, Doug Buryanek, all of Sioux City, and Roxanne and her husband, Patrick Pearson of Dakota City; three sons, Joe and his wife, Mary of Dayton, Nev., John and his wife, Rochelle, and Scott, all of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren, Chantalle Galbraith, Mande Knowles, Trevor Knowles, Christie Knowles, Richard Theeler, Jennifer Knowles, Tracy Knowles, Chandra Knowles, Collin John Knowles, Aliesha Knowles, Anthony Knowles, and Austin Knowles; two great-grandchildren; and a brother and his wife, John and Jean Knowles of Littleton, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

DonnaBelle Petz
DonnaBelle Petz, 71, of Sioux City died Saturday at her residence following an extended illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Vickie L. White
Vickie L. White, 46, of Sioux City died Friday in Sioux City.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

William V. Striegel
William V. Striegel, 68, of Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, following a stroke.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Golden Valley, Minn.

Mr. Striegel graduated from Trinity High School in Sioux City and from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.

He married Sally Tritz of Sioux City in 1951.

Survivors include his wife; five children; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Eugene.

Rose A. Davis
Rose A. Davis, 99, of Fresno, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, in Fresno following a long illness.
Memorial services will be at
2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City, following a private burial in Pierson, Iowa. The Rev. Ronald T. Allin will officiate. There will be no visitation. The Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel in handling arrangements.

Mrs. Davis was born Sept. 27, 1898, near Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of David and Annie (Milton) Blair. She was raised in Kingsley and Sioux City.

She married Irwin O. Jacobson on June 14, 1922. The couple divorced in 1941.

She married Clarence N. Davis on Jan. 19, 1949. He died April 26, 1975, in Sioux City. She moved to Fresno in 1983, residing with her daughter, and later a granddaughter.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 81 years, and held memberships in several community organizations.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Lois and Jack Heitzman of Fresno; a son and his wife, Robert and Marcia Jacobson of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church.

Timothy Glen Cable
MACY, Neb. - Timothy Glen Cable, 30, of Macy died Friday following an accidental shooting.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Winnebago, Neb., with the Rev. Steve Bres officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, Neb. The Munderloh Funeral Home of Pender, Neb., is handling arrangements.

Mr. Cable was born June 23, 1967, the son of Gayle L. and Catherine M. (Tyndall) Cable. He attended Macy Public School, graduating in 1985.

He served in the United States Marine Corp at Subic Bay in the Phillipines.

He married Gina Rouge of Lalongapo, Phillipines.

He was employed at the Carl T. Curtis Health Center, as a certified nurse assistant and physical therapist aide, where he cared for the elderly. He also worked as a security guard for the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska in Macy.

He was a lifelong member of the Comanche Little Ponys Warrior Society, and enrolled member of the Comache Tribe of Oklahoma.

He was a lifelong member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his children, Stephan Michael Cable of Des Moines, Iowa, Michael Manuel Cable, Catherine Marine Cable, Nathan Webster, Karen Webster, and Allen Lee Webster; his companion, Wilhelmina Webster, all of Macy; his mother; and two sisters, Janine Cable and Naomi L. and her husband, Jesse Garcia.

He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Richard H. and Alice S. (McCauley) Tyndall; and paternal grandparents, Burt and Josie N. Cable Sr.

Josephine M. Walker
VERMILLION, S.D. - Josephine M. "Jo" Walker, 67, of Vermillion died Saturday at Dakota Hospital in Vermillion.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion.

Lois J. Tracey
LE MARS, Iowa - Lois June Tracey, 61, of Le Mars died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Mrs. Tracey was born June 15, 1936, in Merrill, Iowa, the daughter of Omer and Lora (Holton) Ritchie. She moved with her family to Hornick, Iowa, when she was five. She graduated from Hornick High School in 1954.

She married Dale Tracey on Nov. 7, 1956, in Hornick. The couple lived in Le Mars for 41 years.

She worked for Lovely Drug for several years and later for Floyd Valley Hospital in the dietary department for several years until retiring in 1984, due to ill health.

She was a member of Presbyterian United Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Roger Tracey of Le Mars; a sister and her husband, Judy and Larry Ruchti of Le Mars; three brothers and their wives, Joy and Joyce Ritchie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Darrell and Betty Ritchie of Sioux City, and Paul and Helen Ritchie of Smithland, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Janet L. Lindsey
MERRILL, Iowa - Janet Louise Lindsey, 63, of Merrill died suddenly Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa, with the Rev. Fred Malone officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lindsey was born Jan. 11, 1934, on the family farm near Smithland, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Audrey (McDonald) Daniels. She attended country school near Smithland. She moved to Merrill with her family at 14 and graduated from Liberty Consolidated High School.

She married Clinton Lindsey on May 17, 1952, in Merrill. The couple farmed west of Merrill for several years.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, and friendships.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters and their husbands, Susan and Jerry Young of Camden Point, Mo., and Danet and John Ketelsen of Sloan, Iowa; two sons, Mike and his wife, Marcy, and Rick, all of Merrill; a sister, Debbie Daniels of Merrill; three brothers, Leonard Daniels of Henderson, Nev., Arvin and his wife, Bonnie Daniels of Sioux City, and Daryl and his wife, Donna Daniels of South Sioux City; nine grandchildren, Valerie, Travis, Jerry Jr., Carrie, Nicholas, Katie, Emily, David, and Drew; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Randy in 1976; her parents; and a sister, Lorretta Boelter.

Carol L. Christensen
CLIMBING HILL, Iowa - Carol L. Christensen, 71, of Climbing Hill died Tuesday in McAllen, Texas.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Climbing Hill. Burial will be in Westfork Township Cemetery in Climbing Hill. Visitation will be after 6 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Kandace Jane Burnight
JEFFERSON, S.D. - Kandace Jane Burnight, 44, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Jefferson, died unexpectedly Wednesday.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Larkin Funeral Home in Omaha. Burial will be in Omaha. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

Don E. Spotts
BATTLE CREEK, Iowa - Don Erwin Spotts, 69, of Battle Creek died Friday, Jan. 9, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Private family memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove, Iowa, with Dr. Herb Johnson officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Battle Creek. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Spotts was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Battle Creek, the son of Earl and Florence (Schmidt) Spotts. He received his education in Battle Creek, then served in the military.

He married Norma Cameron on July 31, 1951, in Clarksville, Tenn. He farmed in near Battle Creek for several years, then moved to California in 1958. He returned to Iowa in 1966, where he worked for the Iowa State Highway Commission for 28 years, retiring in 1994. He moved back to the family farm in 1993.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, and his dog, Brownie.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Randy and Grace of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Barry and Alicia of Westby, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; and three sisters, Inez Maxwell of Medford, Ore., Rachel and her husband, Edwin Hammer, and Beverlyn and her husband, Jimmie Schumacher of all of Ida Grove.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Chet Maxwell.
