Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Richard Witkowski, 49, of Sioux City died Saturday near Valentine, Neb.

Dorothy C. Brent, 79, of Sioux City died Sunday at Matney Morningside Manor.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present 6 to 8:30 p.m., at Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home.

Anna L. McCreery
FONDA, Iowa - Anna Louise McCreery, 82, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Fonda, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Remington Heights Retirement Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda, with the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman and the Rev. Armand Bertrand officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahaney Funeral Home in Fonda.
Mrs. McCreery was born March 26, 1916, in Fonda, the daughter of E.H. and Anna (Tolan) Tiedeman. She received her education at O.L.G.C. School and had post graduate schooling at Fonda Community School. She graduated from St. Theresa College in Winona, Minn.
She taught high school in Ute, Iowa, and later taught commerical at Fonda Community School.
She married John "Jack" McCreery on Dec. 29, 1945, in Fonda. The couple made their home in Fonda, where they owned McCreery Auto Co. She was employed as the office manager of the auto company.
Mr. McCreery died in 1987. She entered Remington Heights in March 1998.
She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and the American Legion Auxiliary, both in Fonda.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Mary and Steve Hutcheson of Kansas City and Jean and Kevin Karhoff of Omaha; five sons, Jim and his wife, Duanna, of Orlando, Fla., Mike and his wife, Karen, of Boca Raton, Fla., Joe and his wife, Mary, and John, all of Omaha, and Tom and his wife, Cindy, of Waterloo, Iowa; a brother, Dr. John Tiedeman of Sioux City; a sister, Grace Reichardt of Rochester, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill, Joe, John and Tony Tiedeman, Bill Messenger and Gerald Johnson.
Gordon Den Herder
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - Gordon Den Herder, 85, of Sioux Center died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at his residence.
Graveside services were held Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Memorial services were held Monday at First Reformed Church. The Rev. Arnold Punt officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.
Mr. Den Herder was born March 2, 1913, in Sioux Center, the son of Gerrit and Hattie (Te Grotenhuis) Den Herder. He attended school through the eleventh-grade at Sioux Center Community Schools.
He married Ella Vreeman on Feb. 24, 1937, in Sioux Center. The couple lived and farmed near Sioux Center.
He was a member of First Reformed Church and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Sharon and John Vreugdenhil of Sioux Center; four grandchildren, Doug, Randy and Mike Vreudenhil and Leanne Van Holland; three brothers, John, Alvin and Kenneth, all of Sioux Center; and two sisters, Alyda De Vries of Sioux Center and Janice Sandbulte of Luverne, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer, and a sister, Jeanne.
Pallbearers were Doug, Mike and Randy Vreudenhil, Arlin Van Gorp, David A. Van Holland and Dan Den Herder.
Bree L. Webster
MACY, Neb. - Bree Linn Webster, 3 years-old son of Foster and Jeanelle (Brown) Webster of Macy, died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital of burns suffered in an April 1998 fire near Macy.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alfred W. Gilpin Community Center in Macy. Burial will be in Omaha Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh Funeral Home of Pender, Neb.
Bree was born Sept. 16, 1994.
Survivors include his parents; three brothers, Kyran, Foster III and Rylan; his grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Candice Webster and Maxine and Oliver Parker; and an aunt.
Oswald J. Allard
JEFFERSON, S.D. - Oswald J. "Ozzie" Allard, 83, of Ordway, Colo., formerly of Jefferson, died Monday, June 29, 1998, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in LaJunta, Colo.
Burial was July 2 in Fort Lyon (Colo.) National Cemetery.
Mr. Allard was born Jan. 26, 1915, in Jefferson, the son of Edward J. and Edme (Montagne) Allard.
He married Pearl Leblanc on May 20, 1940, in Sioux City.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Georgette "Jet" DeLaughter of Sioux City; and two brothers, Martin "Marty" of Sioux City and Dean of Seattle, Wash.
Angela A. Leiting
COLUMBUS, Neb. - Angela Ann Leiting, 24, of Columbus died Sunday near Randolph, Neb., of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Frances Catholic Church in Randolph. Burial will be in St. Frances Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Randolph. There will be a rosary at 8 p.m. today at the church.
Maxine G. Benson
CLIMBING HILL, Iowa - Maxine Gladys (Haddock) Benson, 54, of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, formerly of Climbing Hill, died Sunday, July 12, 1998.
Memorial services were held Thursday, July 16, at First Church of the Nazarene in Victoria.
Mrs. Benson was born March 22, 1945, in Sioux City, the daughter of Samuel Robert "Bert" and Bessie Haddock.
She married David Benson on July 6, 1965, in Sioux City. The couple made their home in Victoria.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Naomi and her husband, Glen Loewen, of Saskatoon, Saskatchewen, and Rachel Benson of Victoria; a son, Peter of Victoria; two brothers and their wives, Earl and Charlotte Haddock of Anthon, Iowa, and Gerald and Shirley Haddock of San Jose, Calif.; two sisters and their husbands, Alma and Kenneth Timmer of Lakefield, Minn., and Irene and Leland Lantz of Moorhead, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Ruth.
Memorials may be directed to Worldserve Ministries in White Rock, British Columbia.

FORDYCE, Neb. - Eugene Lawrance Kelly, 26, of Fordyce died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Congregational United Church of Christ in Newcastle, Neb. Burial will be in Newcastle Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 4 p.m. today at Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ruby A, Gosch
MAPLETON, Iowa - Ruby Ardus Gosch, 82, of Mapleton died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Mapleton, with the Rev. Linda Boggs and the Rev. Karen Handke officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.
Mrs. Gosch was born Dec. 13. 1915, in Crawford County in Iowa, the daughter of Ernest W. and Selma Margaret (Hanneman) Rickert.
She married Edward C. Gosch Sr. on Nov. 13, 1937, in Vermillion, S.D.
She taught school from 1935 to 1938 and returned to teaching in 1949. She retired from the Westwood Community Schools in 1978.
The couple began farming in 1938 in Cooper Township. They farmed in the Mapleton community until 1966, when they moved into Mapleton.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, United Church of Christ and the Women's Fellowship. She enjoyed quilting and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Janyce L. Lee of Denver, Karen J. Kennedy and her husband, Noel, of Minneapolis, Carolyn C. Pierce and her husband, Tom, of Mapleton, Ruby A. Owens and her special friend, Larry Kuzler, of Orville, Calif., and LouAnn M. Gray and her husband, Roger, of Omaha, Neb.; a son and his wife, Edward V. Jr. and Lora of Omaha; a sister, Elvira Stockfleth of Mapleton; 14 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister; a grandson, Michael Owens; and a great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bret A. Lee, Tom and Steve Owens, Jason and Mark Pierce and Brian Gosch.

UTE, Iowa - Arlene R. Rude, 73, of Ute died Sunday in Onawa, Iowa.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ute. Burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Ute.

Jacquelynn M. Manning
BURBANK, S.D. - Jacquelynn Mary Manning, 57, of Burbank died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Sioux Valley Hospital following an brief illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion, S.D. Burial will be at a later date. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home in Vermillion.
Mrs. Manning was born March 20, 1941, in Gregory, S.D., the daughter of Alfred and Edna (Vosika) Ryan. She was raised in Gregory and graduated from Perry High School, Perry, Iowa. She attended Mount Saint Scholastica in Atchison, Kan.
She married James Lee Manning on June 18, 1966, in Akron, Iowa.
She was employed with the University of South Dakota history department for 11 years. She was previously employed at the Broadcaster Press for five years.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and a volunteer Sunday lector. She was active in Reach for Recovery, where she supported women recuperating from breast cancer. She enjoyed walking, reading and garage sales.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter and her husband, Kate and Dean Heitkamp of Lansing, Kan.; three sons, Kelly of Sioux Falls, S.D., Lt. Ryan of Monterey, Calif., and Regan and his wife, Julie, of Scotland, S.D.; two grandchildren, Adam Heitkamp and Madeline Manning; two sisters, Angela Smith of Le Mesa, Calif., and Stephanie Krasovec of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; her stepmother, Christine Ryan of Akron; a stepsister, Janice Morehead of Akron; and two stepbrothers, Virgil Morehead of Sioux City and Norman Morehead of Le Mars, Iowa.
Memorials may be directed to the family in Burbank.

VERMILLION, S.D. - Ethel L. (Lovejoy) Olson, 82, of Boxholm, Iowa, formerly of Clay County in South Dakota,, died Wednesday in Medway, Ohio.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home in Vermillion. Burial will be in Bluff View Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service today at the funeral home.
Vincent A. Strubbe
HAWARDEN, Iowa - Vincent A. Strubbe, 83, of Hawarden died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Hawarden Community Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 5 p.m. today at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the church.
Mr. Strubbe was born June 5, 1915, in Sioux County in Iowa, the son of Alphonse and Marie (Blauwet) Strubbe. He attended school in Garfield Township.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945.
He married Betty Jenkins on Oct. 24, 1944, in Wallace, Neb. The couple farmed in Sioux County, until moving to Hawarden in 1977.
He was a member of Bergstrom-Bodeen Post 128 of Hudson, S.D. He served on the board of St. Mary's Church in Rock Valley, Iowa, and the Rock Valley Cooperative Board. He was a current member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Mark and Susan of Rock Valley; two daughters and their husbands, Billie and Ray Berner of Longmont, Colo., and Vicki and Harvey Olson of Hawarden; a daughter-in-law and her husband, Melanie and Doug Ranschau of Sioux Center, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Clarence and Pauline of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister and her husband, Alice and Gene Bottomley of Vero Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a son, James; a brother, Alphonse; and two sisters, Marian Gayer and Olga Sletten.
Patrick G. Kelley
HAWARDEN, Iowa - Patrick George Kelley, 67, of Hawarden died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at Veterans Administation Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Mr. Kelley was born March 16, 1931, in Hawarden, the son of William and Lucille (Schaefer) Kelley. He graduated from Hawarden High School in 1949.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant from January 1951 to December 1954, serving in Korea.
He married Bettye Turkett on June 14, 1953, in Clovis, N.M. The couple farmed, until he became the manager of the Hawarden Reminder newspaper. He later worked for the Hawarden Independent newspaper. He managed the Hawarden Eagles Club and was employed by Lynott Implement before retiring.
Mrs. Kelley died Feb. 11, 1966.
Mr. Kelley was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hawarden Eagles Club and Hawarden American Legion.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Patrick "Shane" and Marge of Madison Lake, Minn.; two daughters, Sherri Daale and her husband, Jerry, of Hawarden and Becky Kelley of Sioux Falls; two brothers and their wives, Michael and Regina of Grand Junction, Colo., and William and Barb of Hawarden; three sisters, Kathleen "Kitty" O'Connor and her husband, Connie, of Sedona, Ariz., and Mary Falde and Patricia Blake, both of Hawarden; four granddaughters, Stacy, Stephanie, Shannon and Jenna Daale; and 17 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry.
