Donald A. Knudsen
HUBBARD, Neb. - Donald A. Knudsen, 78, of Oakland, Iowa, formerly of Hubbard and Waterbury, Neb., died Sunday, June 7, 1998, at a Council Bluffs, Iowa hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Oakland, with the Rev. Dave Nolte officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City. Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland.
Mr. Knudsen was born June 4, 1920, in Waterbury, Neb., the son of Henry M. and Hannah Amanda Knudsen.
He married Leola M. Chambers on April 22, 1946. He lived in Hubbard, Neb. for many years before moving to Oakland 48 years ago.
He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed woodworking and golf.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Gene A. and Deb. of Hanou, Germany, and Keith A. and Marge of Ankeny, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kyle, Sean and Kimberly; three sisters, Elsie Thomas of San Jose, Calif., Dorothy Mortensen of Pottsville, Ark. and Nita Nordgren of Springdale, Ark.; and a brother, Ralph of Fremont, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to Oakland United Methodist Church.

RANDOLPH, Neb. - Leonard Martin Heger, 81, of Randolph died Sunday at the Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, Neb.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Frances Catholic Church in Randolph. Burial will be in St. Frances Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Johnson Funeral Home in Randolph. The will be a rosary today at 7:30 p.m. said by the Knights of Columbus and Foresters and a parish rosary at 8 p.m. all at the church.

MAY CITY, Iowa - Deforrest Adolf, 81, of May City died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in May City. Burial will be in Harrison Township Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Warner Funeral Home in Hartley, Iowa.
Hubert C. Kulvik
AKRON, Iowa - Hubert Chester Kulvik, 81, formerly of Newfolden, Minn., died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Elk Point, S.D. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

STORM LAKE, Iowa - Orval "Stub" Barber, 70, of Storm Lake died Sunday at the Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Storm Lake United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Storm Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Fratzke Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

GEORGE, Iowa - Evelyn Madison, 83, of George died Sunday at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids, Iowa.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Tabernacle Baptist Church in George. Burial will be in Adrian, Minn. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Roste Funeral Home of Rock Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.

REMSEN, Iowa - Cordelia Holler, 82, of Remsen died unexpectedly Sunday at her residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a rosary at 3 p.m. said by the Catholic Daughters of America and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m., all at the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

WAKEFIELD, Neb. - Joe Keagle, 79, of Wakefield died Sunday at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield. Burial will be in Wakefield City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 8 p.m., at the Bressler-Humlicek Funeral Home in Wakefield.

GALVA, Iowa - Bessie G. Dunhom, 87, of Galva died Monday at the Sunset Knoll Retirement Center in Aurelia, Iowa.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Barker Funeral Home in Holstein, Iowa. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Willow Township Cemetery at Holly Springs, Iowa. There will be no visitation.

G. Lyle Ross, 85, of Onawa, Iowa died Monday; Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
Daniel E. Tighe
Daniel E. "Danny" Tighe, 49, of Sioux City died of pancreatic cancer Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Russell Senstad of Redeemer Lu-theran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard. Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Tighe was born Nov. 14, 1950, in Sioux City, the son of David and Nanna (Rose) Tighe. He graduated from Central High School in 1968 and Morningside College in 1995, with a degree in mass communications. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1976, stationed in Korea. He served as an Army National Guard recruiter from 1981 to 1983. He then served with the Iowa Air National Guard from 1984 to 1985.
He married Jennie R. Paulos Aug. 11, 1994, in Nevada, Iowa. He was employed as a building inspector for the City of Sioux City. He also worked for Kern and Ace Sign Co. He was employed with several construction companies and had owned his own construction company. He was employed with the records administration at Gateway since 1996.
He was a girls softball coach at the Floyd Complex for many years, and enjoyed bowling and golf.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Sioux City; a son, Michael Tighe of Sioux City; three stepdaughters, Celeste and her husband, Jereme Muller, Corynne and her husband, Mitch Riffey, and Cathryn Paulos, all of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Dennis and Doris of San Antonio; three sisters, Nyonia Roberts of Jackson, Miss., Delores and her husband, Mike Price of Jackson, Mich., and Kathleen and her husband, Steve Speth of South Sioux City; two stepgrandchildren, Alyssa and Andrea Muller; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers will be Sean Speth, Ken Miller, Mike Landean, Jon Stolpe, Mark Hinds and Jeff Hass.
David Rowse
David William Richard Rowse, 23, of Oelwein, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Independence, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein, with the Rev. Robert Dagit officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Iowa Air National Guard, 185th Fighter Wing of Sioux City. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
Mr. Rowse was born Dec. 27, 1976, in Sioux City, the son of Dennis William Ray and Susan Gayle (Jacobi) Rowse. He graduated from Oelwein Community High School in December 1995.
He served with the Iowa Air National Guard in 1994, where he was a staff sergeant with the 185th Fighter Wing in Sioux City. He was an aircraft maintenance chief.
He attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa State University and Des Moines Area Community College.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Survivors include his parents of Oelwein; a sister, Kelly Rowse of South Sioux City; a half sister, Sherry Scheller of Chicago; maternal grandparents, Norman and Lola Jacobi of Sioux City; paternal grandmother, Veramay Rowse of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a nephew, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, W. Leonard Rowse.
A memorial fund has been established.

Tiffany Joy Humbert, 21, of Sioux City died Monday; Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel.
Karl H. Luneckas
Karl Heinz Luneckas, 54, of Iowa City, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died of cancer Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at his residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City, with the Revs. Michael Phillips and Charles Edwards officiating. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of George L. Gay Funeral Home and Crematorium in Iowa City.
Mr. Luneckas was born Feb. 10, 1946, in Kempten, Germany, the son of Mamertas Antonus "Tony" and Josefine (Drexel) Luneckas. He moved with his father to the United States and Sioux City as a child. He graduated from East High School in 1964, and the University of Iowa in 1969, earning a bachelor's degree in business. While in college, he was active in fencing and received various Big Ten Conference honors.
He married L. Sherie Moore in 1969. He owned and operated Luneckas Insurance Services Inc. for more than 30 years, in the Iowa City and Coralville, Iowa, area.
He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; his father of Sioux City; two sons, Tony and his wife, Heidi of Coralville, and Darin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three daughters, Lezli Luneckas of Des Moines, Nikki and her husband, Brad Hoyt of Quincy, Ill., and Kiersten Luneckas of Cedar Rapids; three granddaughters, Lexi, Trystin and Madison Luneckas.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
