Lillian I. Frantz
ALTA, Iowa -- Lillian Irene Frantz, 89, of Alta died Friday, June 16, 2000, at the Sunset Knoll Retirement Home in Aurelia, Iowa, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Barker Funeral Home in Alta with the Rev. David Swinton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Frantz was born Sept. 9, 1910, in Alta, the daughter of Arthur and Ethel (Wall) Millard. She married Soren Leslie Andersen on Dec. 21, 1929. He died March 3, 1941. She married Dale Frantz on Dec. 3, 1953. He died in 1979. She was a lifelong resident of Alta.
Survivors include a sister, Mabel Hustedt of Alta; a sister-in-law, Ione Millard of Alta; a daughter-in-law, Patsy Andersen of Alta; five grandchildren, Douglas Andersen, Marsha Boykin, Arles Andersen Jr., Paul Andersen, Ruth Ann Knuth; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie; a son, Arles A.; a grandson, Bruce Andersen; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Francis S. Bauerly
MERRILL, Iowa -- Francis S. Bauerly, 81, of Pierz, Minn., formerly of Merrill died Friday, June 16, 2000, at a St. Cloud, Minn., hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellendale, Iowa, with the Rev. Robert J. Waters officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion George M. Nelson Post 662 of Sergeant Bluff. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., with a vigil service at 7 p.m., all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.
(Barnett) Bauerly. He married Janet D. Maievsky on June 16, 1945, in Sioux City. They farmed near Merrill until 1959. They moved to Pierz in 1961 and continued farming for many years.
He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellendale. He was most recently a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, Minn. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Little Falls, Minn.
He enjoyed horses and traveling. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary of Rice, Minn., and Tim and his wife, Jane of Sartell, Minn.; two daughters and their husbands, Connie and Jim Frerichs of Delta Junction, Alaska, and Carol and Bruce Fimon of Minneapolis; four brothers and their wives, Maynard and Fern of Sioux City, Vernon and Dorothy of Tucson, Ariz., Robert and Betty Jane of Sioux City, and Don and Betty Lou of Sergeant Bluff; seven grandchildren, Tony Frerichs, Terri Hennager, Jake, Jeni, Jason, Krista and Tina Bauerly; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lucille.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Elvira Stockfleth
Elvira Stockfleth, 87, of Mapleton, Iowa, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines; Armstrong Funeral Homes in Mapleton is in charge of arrangements.

Frank Galbraith
SPENCER, Iowa -- Frank Galbraith, 78, of Spencer died Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly, Iowa, with military services by Everett Boyles Jr. Post 414 of Everly. There will be no visitation. Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Eunice Ver Steeg
SHELDON, Iowa -- Eunice Ver Steeg, 89, of Sheldon died Friday at the Oak Park Care Center in Sheldon.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.

Gilbert Raveling
SPENCER, Iowa -- Gilbert Raveling, 77, of Spencer died Saturday at the Longhouse Residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Bethany Lutheran Church. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Barnes Township Cemetery in Linn Grove, Iowa, with military services by Loe-Thomas-Peterson American Legion Posts. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kirby Q. Norman
ONAWA, Iowa -- Kirby Q. Norman, 66, of Iowa City, formerly of Soldier, Moorhead and Sergeant Bluff, died Saturday at University Hospital in Iowa City,
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Onawa. Burial will be in Belvidere Cemetery in rural Turin, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home.

Ruby Frahm
AKRON, Iowa -- Ruby Frahm, 88, of Akron died Sunday.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Westley United Methodists Church in Akron. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Sophie C. Van Wyhe
CRAIG, Iowa -- Sophie Catherine Van Wyhe, 86, of Craig died suddenly Friday, June 16, 2000, at her residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig with the Rev. Peter Boe officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Van Wyhe was born October 7, 1913, in Chicago, the daughter of Piort and Catherine (Kiebala) Brzoza. She was raised and received her education in Chicago. She worked at Merchandise Mart in Chicago until she met her husband. She married Lawrence Van Wyhe on Dec. 27, 1944, in Chicago. They lived in Chicago and later in Bremerton, Wash.
She enjoyed listening to the radio, playing Polish polka records, and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Virginia and Gerald Edgar of Garner, Iowa; a son and his wife, Lawrence and Kathleen of Ankeny, Iowa; five grandchildren, Susan Van Wyhe, Lee Edgar, Sarah Van Wyhe, Greg Van Wyhe, Angela Honson and Charity Edgar; a sister, Jean Zielinski of Oak Park, Ill.; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, John and Walter Brzoza; and a sister, Mae Kowalski.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Dr. Leo L. Ronfeldt
Dr. Leo L. Ronfeldt, 72, of Sioux City died Saturday at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. James United Methodist Church. Entombment will be in Westfork Township Cemetery in Climbing Hill, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Sandra Roberts Thieman
Sandra Roberts Thieman, 73, of Sioux City died Saturday at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Billy E. "Bill" Foulk
Billy E. "Billy" Foulk, 83, of Dakota City died Saturday at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Lutheran Church. The body was cremated and a private family burial will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and a Masonic service by North Riverside Lodge 662 A.F. & A.M. at 7:30 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Lela L. Tweet, 82, of Sioux City died Sunday; Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Larry Duane Doninger
Larry Duane Doninger, 39, of Sioux City died Sunday; Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Frances Miller
Frances Miller, 91, of Manchester, Tenn., formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Coffee County, Tenn., with the Rev. John Kirk officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Manchester Funeral Home in Manchester.
Mrs. Miller was born March 24, 1909, in Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Eunice (Taylor) Fegenbush. She graduated from Whiting School.
She married Beverly Mercer in 1928. The couple made their home in Sioux City, where she was a homemaker. Her husband preceded her in death. She later married John B. Miller, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Tullahoma, Tenn.
Survivors include two sons, Gary and Don Mercer, both of Manchester; three daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Jim Cobb and Sandy and Edward Shasteen, all of Manchester and Sally and Bill Bishop of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters and their husbands, Sally and Paul Poskevich of Sioux City and Maxine and Dr. Edward Hammer of San Clemente, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur "Bud" Mercer; a daughter, Beverly Taylor; three brothers, Don, Dale and William Fegenbush; and four sisters, Marjorie Gaskill, Mildred "Dutch" Anderson, Alice Atmore and Sister Mary Eunice (Annabell).
