Regina Marie Cloud
RICKETTS, Iowa - Regina Marie Cloud, 44, of Ricketts died Friday, April 6, 2001, at her residence.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ute Community Building in Ute, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at Ute Community Building. Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Smid
GRANVILLE, Iowa - Robert Smid, 75, of Granville died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Orange City Health System in Orange City, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville with Monsignor Kenneth Seifried officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Granville. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday, with a parish rosary at 5 p.m., and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the church. Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smid was born May 3, 1925, in rural Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Louis and Susan (Becker Claybaugh) Smid. He was raised in the Le Mars area and attended St. Joseph's Grade School and St. Joseph's High School in Le Mars, graduating in 1943. He then helped his parents in farming near Le Mars. He married Florence Colling on Jan. 26, 1948, in Granville. They lived near Le Mars where they farmed. In 1953 they moved near Granville where they farmed until retiring in 1990 and moving into Granville.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was an active member of the parish. He became a lay Eucharistic minister in 1970, the first in St. Joseph's parish. He was a church lector, past member of the grade school board, past member of the parish board having served two terms, one as president and was a past chairman of the annual parish picnic.
Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Mary Kay of Omaha; a daughter and her husband, Ruth and Bob Schilmoeller of Burnsville, Minn.; four grandchildren, Laura and Katie Smid, Adam and Paul Schilmoeller; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Smid of Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Irma Claybaugh Bohlke; and a brother, Donald.
Pallbearers will be Richard Kellen, Rodney LaBahn, Adam and Paul Schilmoeller, Ken and Stephen Smid.

Norman E. Anderson
WAKEFIELD, Neb. - Norman E. Anderson, 88, of Omaha, formerly of Wakefield died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Hospice House in Omaha.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Evangelical Covenant Church in Wakefield. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Bressler-Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Anderson was born Oct. 1, 1912, in Wakefield, the son of Andrew T. and Anna (Youngquist) Anderson. He grew up on a farm north of Wakefield. He attended Sand Creek School until eighth grade, and then worked on the family farm. He was baptized and confirmed in Evangelical Mission Covenant Church.
He married Geraldine Faye Sherman in 1938. Theythey farmed on one of the Pearson farms until 1943 when they purchased and moved to a farm near Wayne, Neb. In 1954, they moved back to a farm two miles north of Wakefield. He raised livestock and general crops and also ran a dairy operation. They sold their farm in 1972 and moved to South Dakota to work for Stuckey's. In 1974, they moved to Omaha. Mrs. Anderson died in May 1974. He worked for Richman Gordman Stores until he was 78. In 1990, he retired due to heart problems.
He enjoyed baseball.
Survivors include five daughters, Jenene and her husband, Herman Rauth of Honey Creek, Iowa, Andrea and her husband, William Gibson of Omaha, Lynette Guthmiller of Melbourne, Fla., Pamela and her husband, Michael Decker of Omaha, and Rhonda and her husband, Michael Balch of Des Moines; two sons and their wives, Wayne and Terri Anderson of Beaverton, Ore., and Charles and JoAnn Anderson of Azle, Texas; 17 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; a brother and his wife, Harold and Darlene of Wakefield; a sister-in-law, Edna Anderson of San Benito, Texas; and several cousins.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Lawrence.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice House, 7415 Cedar, Omaha, NE 68124-2367.

Margaret 'Peggy' Jane Malloy
SALIX, Iowa - Margaret "Peggy" Jane Malloy, 59, of Salix, died Friday, April 6, 2001, of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix with the Rev. Donald H. Slaven officiating. The body will be cremated. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Salix. There will be no viewing or visitation. Larkin Northside Funeral Home of Sioux City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Malloy was born Oct. 13, 1941, in Sioux City, the daughter of George and Margaret Ping. She graduated from Holly Springs High School and also Stewart's School of Cosmetology. She married Thomas Michael Malloy on Dec. 15, 1968, in Worthington, Minn. He died Dec. 18, 1990, in Sioux City. She owned and operated the His and Hers Beauty Salon on the farm. She also owned and operated the Watering Hole in Holly Springs. She farmed and raised hogs. For the last several years, she had worked for MCI in sales and E.P.S.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was an active volunteer on many church committees, and was a former director of religious education for the church. She had been active with the Cub Scouts. She enjoyed making crafts, crocheting and raising hogs.
Survivors include four sons, Kevin and his wife, Edna Malloy of Chicago, Ronald Holdgrafer Malloy of Salix, Russell Malloy of Tulsa, Okla., and Thomas Jr. and his wife, Brandi Malloy of Sioux City; three daughters and their husbands, Tina Marie and Don Swanson Jr. of Thurston, Neb., Betsy and Dave Doberstein of Ogema, Wis., and Rhonda and Danny Quiroz of Montgomery, Texas; her parents of Sioux City; two brothers and their wives, Chuck and Jan of Denton, Texas, and Doug and Teri of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters and their husbands, Marilee and Scott Lynn of Whiting, and Deb and Kevin Klemme of Hinton, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Tara, Donna, Pablo, Nicko, Tamra, Mackenzie Jane, Jessica and Megan; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Rodney; and a sister, Shelly.

Marlene Fay Pennings
SHELDON, Iowa - Marlene Fay Pennings, 61, of rural Sheldon died Friday, April 6, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Reformed Church in Sheldon with the Revs. Dave Brower and Gordon Bloemendaal officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with family present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the church. Sheldon Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pennings was born Dec. 11, 1939, in Alton, Iowa, the daughter of Dick and Roevina (Cleveringa) Van Klompenburg. She grew up, attended school and graduated from high school in Alton. She attended business school in Sioux City for one year. She married Henry John Pennings on May 9, 1961, in First Reformed Church in Orange City. They lived in rural Sheldon. She worked part time as a housekeeper.
She was an active member of First Reformed Church of Sheldon where she was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher, church librarian, and a member of the Women's Guild for many years.
She enjoyed sewing, making ceramics, gardening, and helping with the harvest.
Survivors include her husband; six daughters, Carla Dunham of Sioux Falls, Rachel and her husband, Leon Hubers of Maurice, Iowa, Marilyn and her husband, Todd Wichers of Littleton, Colo., Laura and her husband, Jim Evenson of Mantorville, Minn., Donna and her husband, Greg Van Peursem of Papillion, Neb., and Linda and her husband, Greg Winkel of Ashton, Iowa; a son, Gary Pennings and his friend, Jessica Malsed of Ames, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, Matthew Dunham, Brittney, Christopher and Paige Hubers, Kayla, Kyle and Marissa Wichers, Ashley, Amber, Morgan and Tyler Evenson, Emily and Connor Van Peursem, Courtney and Kylie Winkel; her parents of Orange City; three brothers and their wives, Harvey and Cheryl Von Klompenburg of Orange City, Delmar and Clarine Von Klompenburg of Maurice, Iowa, and Rich and Rhonda Von Klompenburg of Alton; a sister and her husband, Rose and Ron Wenstrand of Wakefield, Neb.; and a brother-in-law, Denny Cordle of Iowa City, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brennan James Evenson; a sister, Delores Cordle; her grandparents; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law.

Elsie C. Pageler
CRAIG, Iowa - Elsie C. Pageler, 93, of The Abbey in Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of Craig died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig. Burial will be in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Craig. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars is in charge of arrangements.

J. Conley Stone
J. Conley Stone, 86, of Sioux City died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital of a brain tumor.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Morningside Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Donohue Sarff officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Mr. Stone was born Nov. 16, 1914, in Whiting, Iowa, the son of William Garrett and Anna Lee (Conley) Stone. He was raised in Whiting and attended Whiting High School.
He married Dolores Olsen in July 1939, in Sioux City. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1940. He was employed with Sioux Tools for 40 years, retiring in 1979 as plant supervisor.
He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council, as council president, usher, on the finance committee and many other organizations. He enjoyed golfing and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Doug and Patty of Gardenville, Pa., and Rick and Jan of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a daughter, Jane Anderson of Sioux City; two brothers and their wives, Don and Jean and Doyle and Eleanor, all of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edger and Malvern; and a grandson, Michael Stone.
Pallbearers will be Bjorn Anderson, Doug II, Ron and Dick Stone, Tim Book, Matt Snelson and Russ Wielgos.

Wayne F. Haley
Wayne F. Haley, 72, of Sioux City died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Revs. Alfred McCoy and Thomas Geelan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.
Mr. Haley was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Moville, Iowa, the son of Edward and Wilma V. (Hart) Haley Sr. He moved with his family to Sioux City as a child. He graduated from Central High School.
He was employed with Sioux City Battery Co. He also was employed with Sioux Professional Dental Lab for 25 years. He was currently employed with Woodbury County Council on Aging in the Human Services Department.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Survivors include a brother and his wife, Paul "Gene" and Marge of North Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Marie Haley of Sioux City, and Pauline and her husband, Emery LaCroix of Elkhorn, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward Jr.

Celestia R. Dyer
Celestia Rose Dyer, 72, of Sioux City died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey A. Schleisman officiating. Bu-rial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.
Mrs. Dyer was born Oct. 3, 1928, in South Sioux City, the daughter of Francis W. and Martha L. (Chamberlain) Grace. She was raised in South Sioux City and graduated from South Sioux City High School. She then moved to Sioux City and graduated from beauty school.
She married Joseph E. Dyer on July 9, 1949, in Sioux City. She was employed as a beautician for 30 years. She had owned and operated her own shop "Justa Beauty Shoppe" for about 10 years. Her husband died Dec. 28, 1975, in Sioux City. In 1980, she became employed as a licensed care giver with Amicare. She retired in 1992.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was an Apostolic Christian in Opus Spiritus Sancti and involved in the Charismatic Movement. She also did home Bible study groups. She enjoyed gardening, painting and reading.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert and Nancy of McCook Lake, S.D.; four daughters, Theresa and her husband, Ed Bosworth of West Hills, Calif., Rebecca S. Hill and Mary Jo Dyer, both of Sioux City, and Nancy and her husband, Robert Barnes of McCook Lake; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife, Joseph and Marie Grace of Beaverton, Ore.; and a sister and her husband, Catherine and Glenn Anderson of Sioux City.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Josephine Miller.
Pallbearers will be William, Larry and Dennis Franco, Richard Anderson and Joseph and Jonathan Barnes.
