Joyce J. Hart
HOMER, Neb. - Joyce J. Hart, 68, of Homer died Thursday at a South Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Homer. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City.

Paul B. Milbrodt
MOVILLE, Iowa - Paul B. Milbrodt, 67, of Moville died suddenly Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Donohue Sarff officiating. There will be no visitation. Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home of Sioux City is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Milbrodt was born March 15, 1931, in Akron, Iowa, the son of Herman and Meta (Frerichs) Milbrodt. He was raised in the Akron area. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He married Helen E. Erickson on Aug. 1, 1951, in Akron. The couple farmed in the Akron, Hinton and Westfield, Iowa areas from 1954 to 1962. They moved to Sioux City in 1982, where he farmed for many years. He was also employed as a truck driver with Joe Rosenthal & Sons at the stockyards. She died July 17, 1983, in Omaha, Neb.
He then married Patricia J. (Horton) Androy on May 20, 1988, in Sioux City. The couple moved to Moville in 1988.
He was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church, the Teamsters Union Local 383, the American Legion Post 724 and the Veterans of Foreign War, both in Brunsville, Iowa, and the Independent Order of Forresters.
Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Matthew and Laurie of Kansas City, Mo. and Mark A. and Carla of Akron; three daughters and their husbands, Paula J. and Luther Thoresen of Ruthvan, Iowa, Carla J. and Guy Lennan of Lee's Summit, Mo. and Trish and Larry Jones of Sioux City; four brothers, Henry of Sioux Falls, S.D., George and his wife Marge of Hinton, Iowa, Robert of Sioux City and Charles and his wife Rita of Akron; five sisters, Ruth Heubrook of Hawarden, Iowa, Vera Hansen of Sioux City, Dorothy and her husband Rodney Lane of Meckling, S.D., Mary and her husband John Miller of Rock Valley, Iowa and Edith and her husband James Small of Akron; 14 grandchildren, Benjamin, Jessica and Alena Thoresen, Leah, Nathan, Sara, Cody, Christopher, Eric and Shawn Milbrodt, Skyler, Jordan and Cady Lennan and Todd Butters; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Troy Butters.
Pallbearers will be his nieces.
Memorials may be directed to the Brunsville, Iowa, American Legion Post 724.

Clara P. Rumohr
LE MARS, Iowa - Clara P. Rumohr, 90, of Le Mars died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, at the Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Larry C. Fett officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery at Moville, Iowa. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family will be present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars. Moeller Funeral Home of Remsen, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Rumohr was born Jan. 16, 1908, in Battle Creek, Iowa, the daughter of George and Minnie (Burow) Bottjen. She was raised in the Correctionville, Iowa area and attended school in Moville. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She married Emil Karl Frederick Rumohr on Oct. 10, 1928, in Moville. The couple farmed for many years near Moville. They then moved to a farm near Remsen, where they farmed until retiring in 1967 and moved to Marcus, Iowa. He died March 29, 1974. She moved to Le Mars 14 years ago and entered Brentwwod Nursing Home two years ago.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Lydia Circle.
Survivors a son Emil Karl and his wife Carol of Sioux City; two granddaughters, Laura Rumohr and Vicki Nehring; a great-granddaughter; four brothers and their wives, Carl and Gladys Bottjen of Hawarden, Iowa, Elzie and Marian Bottjen of Moville, John and Marlyss Bottjen of Kingsley, Iowa and Cecil and Inez Bottjen of Sioux City; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Ruhmor of Moville and Helen Bottjen of Remsen; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Albert and George Bottjen; and a sister, Edna Rumohr.

Dalia E. O'Connor
Dalia E. O'Connor, 88, of Sioux City died Friday, June 12, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Augustana Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Last officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Mrs. O'Connor was born Nov. 16, 1909, in Sioux City, the daughter of Nels and Anna (Anderson) Ledell. She attended Sioux City schools. She was employed as a medical secretary.
She married Dennis M. O'Connor on Jan. 16, 1929, in Elk Point, S.D. He died Feb. 28, 1974.
She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Rory of Wakonda, S.D.; a daughter and her husband, Patricia and Adrian Berg of Edina, Minn.; a sister, Eldia Johnson of North Hollywood, Calif.; a grandson Joel Berg; and two great-grandsons.

Mildred V. Hatlestad
Mildred V. Hatlestad, 84, of Sioux City died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at her residence following a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church, with the Rev. A.E. Vehling officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hatlestad was born March 8, 1914, in Sioux City, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Johnson) Austin.
She married Edward Albrecht on Feb. 11, 1939, in Sioux City. He died June 1, 1947, in Sioux City. She then married Charles Hatlestad on Oct. 16, 1948, in Omaha, Neb. He died Aug. 10, 1964, in Sioux City.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Ladies Circle.
Survivors include a son and his wife, James and Patricia Albrecht of Olathe, Kan.; two daughters and their husbands, Judith and Gary Eyer of Olathe, Kan. and Judith Emily and David McCue of Wichita, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Matthew Albrecht and James V. McCue; four sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers will be Jim Morehead, Les King, Kevin Wingert, Chuck Gurnsey, Walt Plendl and Ron Johnson.
Memorials may be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church.

Catherine Marriott
Catherine Marriott, 75, of Sioux City died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. LeRoy Seuntjens, the Rev. John Brennan and the Rev. Thomas Geelan officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 3:30 to 5 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m., a rosary at 4 p.m. said by the St. Therese's Study Club and the Carmelite Guild Board and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., all at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home.
Mrs. Marriott was born July 10, 1922, in Sioux City, the daughter of Charles and Kathryn (Fleming) Brennan. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1940 and attended business school in Sioux City. She was employed in the payroll division, civilian personnel, at the Sioux City Air Base during World War II.
She married Dr. Charles M. Marriott on July 12, 1945, in Sioux City. The couple lived in Sioux City until 1948, when they moved to Omaha, Neb. They returned to Sioux City in 1958.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she was a Lay Minister of Communion, the church Confraternity, the St. Therese Study Club, the Woodbury Medical Auxiliary, the Birthright of Siouxland and the Carmelite Guild Board. She was a volunteer coordinator for the Soup Kitchen and a volunteer for Meals of Wheels. She recently received a service award from the Woodbury Medical Society Allinace for her many years of service.
Survivors include her huband; three sons and their wives, William C. "Will" and Teri of Phoenix, Ariz., James D. "Jim" and Marilyn of Omaha and Dr. John T. and Rebecca of Sioux City; five daughters, Mary C. and her husband Dr. Fred Gawecki of Papillion, Neb., Kathryn N. "Kathy" Marriott of Arvada, Colo., Margaret J. "Meg" Marriott of Omaha, Judy A. and her husband Dr. Roger Laushman of Oberlin, Ohio and Colleen M. and her husband Scott Schmidt of Omaha; four brothers, Robert and his wife Stacia Brennan of Wausau, Wis., James and his wife Mary Brennan of Janesville, Wis., Rev. C. John Brennan of Sioux City and Richard and his wife Jean Brennan of Sioux City; three sisters, Mary Eunice and her husband Al Strozdas of Springfield, Ohio, Sr. Jean Brennan, O.P., of Dubuque, Iowa and Sr. Margaret "Peg" Brennan, O.P., of Whitefish Bay, Wis.; and 18 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Dr. John Heffron, Ted Alvey, Dr. James Goebel, Dr. Tim McCoy, Dr. Ken Keane and Charles Marriott.

Earl B. Edwards
Earl B. Edwards, 75, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at his residence.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clint Poppe officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Edwards married Eleanor Manhold in 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He married Joy Ann Kowalke on May 1, 1954. He played the saxophone with a dance band.
He was a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Lincoln, the N.A.L.C. with the Post Office and the Musicians Union in Sioux City and Lincoln.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Renfro of Waterloo, Iowa and Mark and his wife Barb Renfro of Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Paula and Rick Erickson of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a brother and his wife, Clyde and Marge Blinn of Minneapolis, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joy; a daughter, Julie Edwards; and a stepdaughter, Darlene Jackson.
Memorials may be directed to Good Shephard Lutheran Church or Tabitha Hospice of Lincoln.
Pallbearers will be Krage, David and Dennis Kowalke, Curt Schoenrock, Dick Kucera, Greg Spevak and Jennifer Helmick.

John H. Crabbe
ALCESTER, S.D. - John H. Crabbe, 91, of Alcester died Friday at Morningside Manor Nursing Home in Alcester.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Big Springs Baptist Church in rural Alcester. Burial will be in Big Springs Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at Wass Funeral Home in Alcester.

Ruth I. Harris
ONAWA, Iowa - Ruth I. Harris, 82, of Sergeant Bluff, formerly of Onawa, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at the Embassy Rehab Care Center in Sergeant Bluff.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sloan City Cemetery, rural Sloan, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.
Mrs. Harris was born June 3, 1916, in Blencoe, Iowa, the daughter of George and Jenny (Frisk) Conyers. She moved with her family to rural Moorhead, Iowa, where she graduated from the eighth grade at Hiawatha Country School. She graduated from Onawa High School in 1934. She then taught at the Mann School in Sioux Township, rural Moorhead.
She married Paul Harris on June 23, 1936, in Onawa. The couple lived in Onawa until January 1942, when they moved to a farm near Moorhead. In December 1957, they moved to Sloan, then returned to Onawa in 1987. He died July 20, 1994, in Onawa. She was a seamstress and sewed professionally from her home.
She had been a member of the Methodist Church in Turin, Iowa.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Dave Martin of Grass Valley, Calif. and Judy and Ron Abbott of Santa Ynez, Calif.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Bernard and William "Bill".
