John J. DeFelice

John Joseph DeFelice, 58, of Idaho Falls, died Sept. 24, 1998, at Columbia Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of cancer.
He was born Jan. 11, 1940, in Los Angeles, Calif., to John Vincent and Vivian Irene Crowel DeFelice. He was raised and attended schools in the San Fernando Valley. In the summer of 1991, he moved to Idaho Falls to be close to his daughter.
In the summer of 1958, he married Helen Willis. They were later divorced. On Aug. 18, 1975, he married Debra Abrams and they were later divorced.
Survivors include his three daughters and two sons, Lori J. Gutierrez (Rey), JoAnn H. Cook (Wayne), Wendy S. DeFelice, John M. DeFelice, and Anthony DeFelice (Holly); a brother, William A. DeFelice; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
An open house in honor of John will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the home of his family at 555 Winston Ave. in Idaho Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.

N. Grant Tolman

Nathan Grant Tolman, 81, of Idaho Falls, died Sept. 23, 1998, at Columbia Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 14, 1917, at Honeyville, Utah, to Nathan Tolman and LaRee Scott Tolman. He was raised in the area, where he attended schools. He graduated from Utah State University.
On Nov. 25, 1950, he married JoAnn M. Amann in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He was a businessman in Idaho Falls, where he resided for the past 36 years.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a mission in Australia. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. His greatest joys were giving to any and all in need, and being with his grandchildren - he loved taking them to Smitty's Restaurant.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn of Idaho Falls; his children and their spouses, Bruce Grant Tolman (Vicki) of Idaho Falls, Carol Ann Harrop (Patrick) of Beaver, Ohio, Claudia LeRee Russell (Neal) of Idaho Falls, Jonathan Paul Tolman (JoAnn) of Logan, Utah, Maria Tolman Rossi (Kirk) of Madison, Wis., Vance Tolman of California, and Scott Tolman (Libby) of Texas; a brother, Reed Tolman of Salt Lake City; a sister, Sarah Lou Munhollen of Georgia; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and two sons.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Idaho Falls LDS South Stake Center, 2051 S. Emerson, with Bishop Maurice McAffee officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in the Honeyville, Utah, Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls.

Robert L. Howell

PARKER - Robert L. Howell, 81, of Parker, Idaho, died Sept. 23, 1998, of natural causes at his home.
He was born May 1, 1917, at Clearwater, Idaho, to William Monroe and Edith Mae Baker Howell. He lived most of his life in Fremont County, where he enjoyed the great outdoors.
On June 16, 1941, he married Elva Orgill at Rexburg, Idaho. All of his life he worked with cattle, working for the Bitch Creek Cattleman's Association; and B.M. Tibbitts and Sons where he cared for their cattle for more than 20 years, and he also worked in the potato warehouse during the winter months. He also worked for Davis Lake Cattleman's Association. He retired in 1991 and turned all of his attention to gardening. He grew a very large productive garden.
Survivors include his wife, Elva of Parker; a son, Darrel Howell (wife, Lyla) of Tetonia, Idaho; a daughter, Minnie Kidd (husband, John) of St. Anthony, Idaho; a brother, Lewis Howell of Landers, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas; a sister, Hollie, brothers, Lenard and Edward; and a half-brother, Asa.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Parker LDS Ward with Keith Cornelison of the Bishopric officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bert Flamm Mortuary in St. Anthony, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Bert Flamm Mortuary in St. Anthony.

Gordon C. Galloway.

PORT ST. JOHN, Fla.- Gordon C. Galloway, 67, of Port St. John, Fla., a teacher for 40 years and former resident of Idaho Falls, died Nov. 30, 1998, at his home. His wife is Betty Galloway of Port St. John.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home in Cocoa, Fla. The family suggests donations to the Titusville Christian School, 3155 South St., Titusville, FL 32780.

SALMON - Virginia G. Klingler, 81, a former Salmon, Idaho, resident, died Nov. 27, 1998, in Portland, Ore.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Salmon Cemetery under the direction of Jones and Casey Funeral Home in Salmon.

ROBERTS - Martha Waite Clark, 82, of Roberts, Idaho, died Dec. 2, 1998, at her home. She was under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.

POCATELLO - Luke Carr Struve, 86, of Pocatello, Idaho, died Nov. 26, 1998, at a Pocatello care center following an illness.

Bruce V. Nielsen.

AMMON - Bruce Venoy Nielsen, 60, of Ammon, Idaho, died Feb. 12, 1999, at his home of apparent heart failure.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at noon at the Ammon LDS Stake Center on Ammon Road with Bishop Dennis Clayton officiating. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Coltrin Colonial Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and Wednesday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.

George H. Peterson.

POCATELLO - George H. Peterson, 76, a prominent local businessman in Pocatello, Idaho, died Feb. 11, 1999, at a Pocatello hospital from complications of pneumonia.
He was born July 21, 1922, in Idaho Falls to Lester Hans and Nellie Simmons Peterson. He attended schools in Idaho Falls, Ucon, Lava, Mesa, Ariz., Boise, and Pocatello.
On Nov. 19, 1941, he married Nora Rae Anderson in Rigby, Idaho, and they had six wonderful children. His early work included the C.C.C's, the State Highway Department, and the Naval Ordinance Plant. At the N.O.P. he worked as a machinist, becoming a supervisor. In 1949 he changed professions and became a carpenter for the Clark and Johnson Construction Co. By 1950 he was a partner, creating Peterson and Johnson. They were instrumental in the building of many homes and commercial businesses until they split up in the late 1950's. He then became a building developer, where his ambitious and creative talents helped him to be very successful. Highlights included construction of the Pocatello City Air Terminal building, accomplished with his close friend and business partner, Dean Nielson. They later dissolved the partnership. The company currently remains under the management of his son.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and attended the Highland 3rd Ward. He served on the Planning and Zoning Commission, was a member of the Elks Club, and a longtime contributor to organizations including the Boy Scouts and Primary Children's Hospital. He enjoyed his cabin in Island Park, Idaho, and was a HAM radio enthusiast who was instrumental in the installation of repeaters around Pocatello. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, golfing and traveling. He also enjoyed flying and was a licensed pilot. He was a very dedicated and loving family man.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Rae of Pocatello; three daughters and their spouses, Cheryl Foster (Martin) of Evanston, Wyo., Shannon Yount (Stuart) of Boise, and Susan Kuta (Alan) of Pocatello; three sons, Steven Peterson (Joni) of Pocatello, Gregory Peterson (Tammy) of Chubbuck, Idaho, and Douglas Peterson (SaDee) of Chubbuck; three sisters, Marie Peck, Ruth Wood (Boyd), and Norma Hansen (Lynn), all of Idaho Falls; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lester Peterson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Highland 3rd Ward, corner of Butte and Hiskey Roads, Pocatello, with Bishop Clair Bowen officiating. The family will meet with friends Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave., Pocatello, and Tuesday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.

John R. Bower Jr., 83, of Idaho Falls, died May 15, 1999, at his home.

Leo "Keith" Brown, 70, of Idaho Falls, died July 7, 1999, at his home following a lingering illness.

BRAXTON, Miss. - Lawrence C. Gardner, 69, of Braxton, Miss, a retired electrical worker, died June 30, 1999, of injuries received in an automobile accident on Highway 49, near Mendenhall, Miss.
His 11 children include three area residents, Marilyn Standfield, Felecia Jones and Tracy McLaurin, all of Idaho Falls.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 6 at the New Jerusalem Apostolic Church in Magee, Miss. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery in Mendenhall under the direction of J & M Funeral Home in Mendenhall.

Trudy Tranmer Stegelmeier, 56, of Ashton, died Nov. 4, 1999, at St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ashton LDS Stake Center. The family will meet with friends at the church Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery in Ashton under the direction of Valley Mortuary in Ashton.

POCATELLO - Eunice Paulsen Van Atta, 89, of Pocatello, died Nov. 4, 1999, at the Pocatello Regional Medical Center.
She is the mother of Ann (Dick) Finlayson of Pocatello.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hill, Hawker and Sandberg Funeral Home in Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends Monday for one hour before the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grove City Cemetery near Blackfoot.

BLACKFOOT - John Edward Taylor, 87, of Blackfoot, died Nov. 4, 1999, at the Idaho State Veterans' Home in Pocatello after an extended illness.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Grove City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends Monday for one hour before services at Hill, Hawker and Sandberg Funeral Home in Blackfoot.

HAYWARD, Calif. - Marianne Nathala Brunt, 62, of Hayward, Calif., a school teacher for 35 years, died Jan. 3, 1999, in California. Her parents were the late Paul and Nathala Brunt of Idaho Falls.
Funeral services were held at the Hayward LDS 2nd Ward, 2401 Gading Road.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Kenneth Gene Jorgensen, 74, of San Jose, Calif., a former resident of Idaho Falls, died Jan. 13, 1999, in his home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Coltrin Colonial Mortuary, 2100 First St., in Idaho Falls. The family will meet with friends for one hour before services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veteran's Team.

Sandra Renee Fullmer, 64, of Ammon, died April 18, 1999, at Columbia Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ammon LDS 10th Ward, 4375 E. Sunnyside Road, with Bishop Rod Dutson officiating. The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Coltrin Colonial Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls, and Saturday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.

REXBURG - Delia Rose S. Hernandez, infant daughter of Nancy A. Hernandez and Roberto Hernandez A. of Roberts, Idaho, died April 17, 1999, at Madison Memorial Hospital of prematurity.
Survivors include her parents; three brothers, Jose Huitron, Gabriel Huitron and Roberto Hernandez Jr., all of Roberts; two sisters, Christine Hernandez and Kasandra Hernandez, both of Roberts; and grandparents, Audelia and Antonio Hernandez of GTO, Mexico. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday in the Rexburg Cemetery with Father Paul Wander officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg.

SUGAR CITY - Verna McKague, 65, of Sugar City, died April 18, 1999, at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sugar City LDS 1st Ward. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Thursday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in the Lewisville Cemetery under the direction of Valley Mortuary in Driggs.

Olga Nickerson, 92, of Idaho Falls, died April 19, 1999, at the Lincoln Court Retirement Center.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. John Lutheran Church, 290 E. 17th St. in Idaho Falls. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.

Ruby LouEne Searle Oswald Morse, 70, of Idaho Falls, died April 25, 1999, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls, with Alan Knapp, first counselor in the bishopric of the Willow Creek LDS Ward, officiating. The family will meet with friends for one hour before the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery.
The location of the visitation was not correct in Tuesday's paper because of information received by the Post Register.
