Jeffrey Funderberg
TISKILWA -- Jeffrey Austin Funderberg, 26, of Tiskilwa died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born April 7, 1977, in Princeton to Barry and Wanda Funderberg.
Survivors include one son, Austin Michael Funderberg of Buda; his mother of Green eville, Tenn.; two sisters, Natasha Lynn Funderberg of Green ville, Tenn., and Christy Phipps-Dixon of Midway, Tenn.; two brothers, Bryan Allen Funderberg and Michael G. Funderberg, also of Green eville, Tenn.; his grandfather, Charles "Chuck" Funderberg of Tiskilwa; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Edith Pauline Funderberg, Leonard A. Hicks and Lillian Ruth Hicks; and great-grandmothers; and aunts and uncles.
A service will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home, Green eville, Tenn., with the Rev. Tommy Collins officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Green eville, Tenn.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Saturday, and Sunday at the funeral home.
A memorial service also will be at 6 p.m. today, Saturday, at 115 N. Washington St., Tiskilwa.
Genevieve Siebert
SPRING VALLEY -- Genevieve Siebert, 84, a resident of the Spring Valley Nursing Center for the past five years and formerly of 207 Pulaski St., Spring Valley, died at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at the center.
Born Jan. 4, 1919, in Streator to Henry and Anna (Miller) Neu, she married Arthur Siebert Jan. 31, 1940, in Streator. He died Oct. 1, 1981.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Spring Valley and the Maria Society of the church.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (Emily) Siebert of Doyleston, Ohio, Michael Siebert of Pontiac and James Siebert of Spring Valley; two daughters, Mary Ann (Reuben) Molina of Darien and Kathy Meger of Peru; one brother, Gene Neu of Kinsman; two sisters, Theresa Baumann of Bourbonnais and Irene Watson of Streator; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. today, Saturday, in the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, and at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Spring Valley, with the Rev. Paul Meismer officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be one hour before the services today in the funeral home, and also was held Friday in the funeral home.
Bernard Bernardi
NORMAL -- Bernard "Bernie" Bernardi, 62, of 1105 Pine Ridge Court, Normal, died at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Manor Care in Normal.
Born Jan. 8, 1941, in Spring Valley to Donald and Mary (Ferrero) Bernardi, he married Bonnie Blundstone June 17, 1967, in Ladd. She survives.
He earned his bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctor of philosophy degree from Illinois State University in Normal. He taught industrial technology at ISU for 10 years. He later founded Bernardi Printing in Normal, operating for many years.
He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Newman Center in Normal.
Also surviving are two children, Bridget Bernardi of Normal and Brenden Bernardi of Bloomington; and four brothers and sisters, Donald (Celia) Bernardi of Pontiac, and Joe (Barb) Bernardi, Frances Victor and Marie (Tom) Giordano, all of Ladd.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington, with Monsignor Mark Williams officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Ladd Cemetery, Ladd, with the Rev. Harold Datzman, O.S.B., officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, in the Stubblefield-Calvert Memorial Home, Normal, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m.

Arden Strub
DIXON -- Arden Dale Strub, 71, of Dixon died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at his home.
Born July 26, 1930, in Sterling to Edgar and Frances (Wesner) Strub, he married Dorothy P. Kibble Nov. 12, 1955, in Dixon. She preceded him in death.
He was employed with KSB as a painter prior to retirement in 1997. He was involved in the Dixon Bowling Association and the Dixon Girls Softball League.
Survivors include three sons, Arden D. Strub, Rick L. (Lucy) Strub and Scott A. (Tammy) Strub, all of Dixon; three daughters, Sherri (George) Monroe and Linda (Larry Michael) Smith, both of Dixon, and Lori (David) Lewis of Wyanet; three sisters, Muriel J. Strub and Donna Johnson, both of Dixon, and Carol J. (Wendell) Hebert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Richard Reigle, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the church.
Memorials may be directed to the Hospice of the Rock River Valley or the Rock River Bible Camp.
Guadalupe Garza
BIG ROCK -- Guadalupe Garza, 59, of Big Rock died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital.
Born June 26, 1942, in Elsa, Texas, he was a member of United Automobile Workers 145.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Virginia (Sterling) Garza of Big Rock; four sons, Guadalupe of Aurora, Eduardo of Chicago, David of Naperville and John Henry (April) Garza of Aurora; three daughters, Fay (Steve) Woodruff of Missouri, and Odie (Scott) Fann and Olivia Garza, both of Aurora; two stepdaughters, Dawn Campbell of Ottawa and Jennifer Spradling of Sandwich; his mother and stepfather, Victoria and Francisco Molina of Aurora; five brothers, Eduardo (Karen) Garza Jr. of Roseville, Mich., and Roy (Theresa) Garza, Pedro (Debbie) Garza, Frank Molina and Mario (DeeDee) Molina, all of Aurora; one sister, Jeannie (Arturo) Rodriguez of Marine City, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Gloria; one stepdaughter, Lori Schiffgens; one granddaughter, Stephanie Sterling; his father, Eduardo Garza; and one sister, Maria Minerva Gonzalez.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Daleiden Lake Street Mortuary, Aurora, with the Rev. Larry D. Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, in the mortuary.

Eleanor Johnson
WALNUT -- Eleanor Irene Bartel Johnson, 87, of the Walnut Manor Nursing Home, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at the Walnut Manor.
Born Sept. 28, 1914, in Walnut to Louis and Josephine (Johnson) Hoffman, she married John J. Bartel Oct. 28, 1939, at St. Mary's Church in Sterling. He died May 30, 1979. She then married John W. Johnson on July 8, 1981, at St. Mary's of the Mount in Horseshoe Bend, Ark. He died Feb. 15, 1995.
She worked at Lawrence Brothers in Rock Falls for five years with her first husband. They moved to Burlington, Iowa, in 1944 where they operated the Bartel Electric Shop for 33 years until their retirement to Horseshoe Bend, Ark., in November of 1977. During her 22 years there, she was active in St. Mary's of the Mount Church where she served on the board. She was a member of the church's Kitchen Band. She returned to Walnut in September of 1999, where she lived at the Walnut Homestead and Walnut Manor Nursing Home.
Survivors include three nieces, Carolyn Johnson and Sharon (Pat) Broeren, both of Walnut, and Vicki Parsons of Belvidere.
Her parents, an infant daughter, Theresa in 1950, and one brother, Vernon Hoffman, all preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Walnut, the Rev. Binh K. Tran, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour Tuesday prior to the services at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Walnut Manor Nursing Home and the Walnut Fire Department.
Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
Darlene Lampkin
PRINCETON -- Darlene E. Lampkin, 85, of 917 W. Farnham St., Princeton, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, in Colonial Hall Nursing Center in Princeton.
Born July 21, 1917, in LaMoille to Floyd and Jessie (Erickson) Stocking, she married Hershel W. Lampkin Feb. 9, 1937, in Tiskilwa. He died May 24, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Patt (Bill) Fleming of Princeton; one brother, Gene (Joanne) Stocking of Princeton; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Summers Chapel in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton, with the Rev. Father James Ramer officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Cremation was accorded.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be directed to the Elks Crippled Children, Princeton Lodge 1461, or the donor's choice.
The Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
