Edna Epperson
MORRISON -- Edna M. Epperson, 91, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, formerly of Walnut, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at the home.
Born Feb. 17, 1911, in Neponset to Roy and Anna (Peterson) Glaze, she married Wm. L. Epperson Sept. 2, 1935, in Wyanet. He died April 25, 1983.
She graduated from Walnut High School in 1927. She worked at the Walnut Grade School a a bookkeeper for many years and also worked with her husband at Epperson Furniture Store in Walnut.
She was a member of the Walnut Christian Church, an elder at the church, and also served as a Sunday school superintendent in prior years. She was active in the Senior Citizens in Walnut.
Survivors include two sons, William Lewis (Susan) Epperson of Walnut and Roy Epperson of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Sandra Rideout of Morrison; three sisters, Nona Parker of Walnut, Elinor (Harold) Wallace of Gainesville, Fla., and Doris Arduini of Bloomington; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nina Gerbitz.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Robert E. Smith, pastor of the First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church of Walnut Sunday School.

Alfred Fenoglio
Washington, Ill. -- Alfred W. Fenoglio, 90, a resident of the Washington Christian Village in Washington, Ill., for the past two years, formerly of 2811 Sixth St., Peru, died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Washington Christian Village.
Born July 16, 1912, in Spring Valley to Alfredo and Johanna (Cavaletti) Fenoglio, he married Irene Hassler Sept. 3, 1939, in Peru. She died in 1994.
After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he worked various jobs in his life, including auto mechanic at Balestri and Sons in Spring Valley, an ammunition technician at Elwood Ordinance Defense Plant near Joliet, an assembler at Sturtevant Division of Westinghouse in Peru, an engineer at Star Union Brewery in Peru and a technician at Illinois Power Co. from which he retired in 1975. He also did part-time shoe repair work for 30 years.
He was a member of the Peru American Legion.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherrill (Jim) Saathoff of Washington; three grandchildren, Pam Saathoff of Seattle, Wash., Jim (Jackie) Saathoff of Creve Coeur and Debbie (Kirk) Cooper of Hanna City; and seven great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Minnie Fenoglio and Louise Mini.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, with the Rev. James Gorby officiating. Burial will be in the Peru City Cemetery, Peru.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or Washington Christian Village.

Vernon Pease
PRINCETON -- Vernon William Pease, 68, of 625 N. Jacqualine Lane, Princeton, died at 4:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at his home.
Born July 29, 1935, in Sheffield to William Leonard Pease and Verna Dell (Scott) Pease, he married Clara Marie Bartman in 1970. She survives.
He retired from Champion Pneumatic Machinery Co. after 32 years plus. He started as a drill press operator and throughout his employment was a lathe operator, tool maker and second shift supervisor. He was plant supervisor for 10 years in Montgomery, Ala., then returned to Princeton as unit assembly and shipping supervisor until retiring.
He was a life member and past commander of AMVETS Post 180. He also was a member of Princeton American Legion Post 125 and Princeton Moose Lodge 1339, and an honorary Alabama National Guardsman. He was a veteran, having served with the Army Corps Reserve. He graduated from Sheffield Consolidated School in 1953.
Also surviving are three children, Connie M. (John) Allen of Sheffield, Judy K. (Chris) Nauman of Mumford, Tenn., and Tony A. (Debbie) Pease of Princeton; four stepchildren, Terry L. (Kay) Johnson of Monroe, N.C., Robin R. Johnson of Princeton, Rhonda K. (Randy) Baker of Princeton and Troy (Gwen) Johnson of Sheffield; one sister, Mercedese Ingles; one half brother, Richard Porter of Florida; 19 grandchildren, Josh, Brandi, Jason, Jeremy, Billie, Don, Tim, Candace, Krystal, Kyle, Jordan, Heather, Elizabeth, Kari, Kristi, Jake, Edward, Andy and Alex; nine great-grandchildren, J.T., C.J., Krystelle, Gavin, Savanah, Austin, Ethan, Jesse and Amya; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ernest Pease; one half sister, Geraldine Snow; two half brothers, Harry and Robert Porter; one brother, Ronald G. Pease; and two grandchildren, Kit and Wesley.
Services were held Monday in the Princeton Bible Church with the Rev. Lauren Gerber officiating. Burial was in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.
Visitation was held Sunday in the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton.
Memorials may be directed to St. Margaret's Hospice or Princeton American Legion

Ronald Larkin
AXTELL, Kan. -- Ronald O. Larkin, 60, of Axtell, Kan., died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at his home.
Born June 15, 1942, in Axtell, Kan., to Francis and Elizabeth (Lierz) Larkin, he married Janice Heiman Feb. 23, 1963, in Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. She survives.
He grew up on the family farm east of Baileyville, Kan., and graduated from B&B High School in 1960. He attended Highland Community College, Benedictine College at Atchison and Clayton University in St. Louis, Mo. He received a degree in business administration. He worked for the Mobil Oil Corporation for 32 years in transportation and distribution. He spent 18 years living and working in the Kansas City area before being transferred with the company to their chemical and fertilizer division in Princeton for nine years. He next moved to Mobil Mining and Minerals in Lakeland, Fla., for 10 years. He also was the owner of BeeLine Signs in Lakeland, Fla. He retired in 1997, and he and his wife moved back to the Axtell area in 1998.
He was a member of St. Michael's Church where he was a lector and a CCD teacher, the Knights of Columbus, and served on the Axtell City Council. He also was a member of the Lions Club in Illinois, served on the United Way Board in Florida, served on school boards, parish councils and found time to devote to youth in all the communities he lived. He chaired many athletic organizations as well as coached in various sports over 35 different teams through the years.
Also surviving are one son, Randall Larkin of Lawrence, Kan.; three daughters, Lisa Coultas of Valrico, Fla., Jane Gudenkauf of Axtell, Kan., and Joy Lohmeyer of Lone Tree, Colo.; his mother of Seneca, Kan.; one brother, Bruce Larkin of Baileyville, Kan.; one sister, Mary Heiman of Olathe, Kan.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father on Dec. 15, 1995; and one brother, Russell Larkin on Feb. 29, 2000.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, in St. Michael's Church in Axtell, Kan. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baileyville, Kan.
Rosaries were recited Monday in the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca, Kan.
Memorials may be directed to St. Michael's School in Axtell, Kan., and sent in care of the family.

Martha Paden
HENRY -- Martha J. Paden, 95, of Heartland Healthcare in Henry died Tuesday, June 10, 2003.
She was born Nov. 9, 1908, in Walnut Township, Bureau County, to Harry B. and Nancy (Mattson) Paden.
She graduated from Princeton High School and Illinois State College in Normal. She taught elementary school for 43 years at Ohio, Morrison and Rockford. She was at Rockford for 29 years.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Princeton, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Association of Community women.
Survivors include cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Cremation was accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements.

Sandra Furst
DOWNS -- Sandra L. Furst, 65, of Downs died at 10:41 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at the family residence in Bloomington.
Born April 18, 1938, in Kewanee to Louis Naseef and Jessie Haroldine Green , she married William Galloway Sr. in 1956. She later married Albert J. Furst in 1976.
She was formerly employed as a driver's license examiner with the Illinois Secretary of State office and as a waitress at the Bloomington Elks Lodge.
Survivors include her stepmother, Mary Elsie Naseef of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three grandchildren, William (Phyllis) Galloway Jr. and Michael T. (Tonia) Galloway, both of Bloomington, and Brian (Jan) Galloway of Normal; one sister, Betty Jo (Ron) Elliott-Davis of Walnut; three half sisters, Jeanette (David) Sutton of Harmon, Sadie Husko of Mundelien and Brenda Naseef of Bloomfield; five half brothers, Joe Naseef and John Naseef, both of Chicago, Tony Naseef of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Frank (Jane) Freeburg Jr. of Princeton and Steven (Cindy) Swearingen of Sparta, Texas; six grandchildren, Katie and Sarah Galloway, Brianna, Connor and Janelle Galloway and Vanessa Galloway; and one uncle, George (Sandy) Naseef of Texas.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven and James D. Galloway; two half brothers, Edward McBride and Norman Swearingen Jr.; one half sister, Sally Pace; and his longtime companion, Robert Stuart.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, in the Calvert and Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Mark Moore officiating. A private family burial will be held.
Visitation was held Friday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Leukemia Center or BroMenn Hospice.
