Viva Krone
WALNUT -- Viva A. Krone, 93, of Walnut died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at the Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut.
Born Jan. 1, 1910, in Manlius Township, Bureau County, to Fred Morris and Margaret Elvena (Johnson) Stier, she married Wilbur Cecil Krone March 30, 1932, in the Manlius Baptist Parsonage. He died Feb. 13, 1963.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Rock Falls Community Church of Christ and was very active in the church. She also was a member of Royal Neighbors of America and Whiteside County Home Extension, and was a 4-H leader.
Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis (Marvin) Polte of Sheffield; two sons, Weston Krone of Rock Falls and Norman (Jean) Krone of Minonk; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Wilbur Donald and Marvin Cecil Krone; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, in the Allen-Grennan Funeral Home, First Avenue Chapel, Sterling, with the Rev. Brian Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. today in the funeral home.

Dorothy Holland
MACOMB -- Dorothy W. Holland, 83, of Wesley Village in Macomb, formerly of Chicago, died at 4 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born March 10, 1919, in Tiskilwa to Daniel Joseph and Mary Ellen (McCarthy) Holland.
She graduated from Bradford Community High School and was a 1942 graduate of Western Illinois University, first working as a teacher and later as a home economist. She retired in 1984 as vice president and director of consumer affairs of Kraft Inc., having been its first woman vice president. In 1983 she was named Distinguished Alumna at WIU and in 1984 received the honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters.
She was a member of Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago and St. Paul's Catholic Church in Macomb. She served on the board of directors of the senior centers of Metropolitan Chicago. She had been a member of the board of trustees for Marycrest College and on the Advisory Council of Ohio State University. She was past chairman of the Grocery Manufacturers Association Consumer Affairs Committee, as well as past president of the board of trustees for the American Home Economics Association. She also was a member of the Home Economists in Business and the American Council of Consumers Interests. She appeared before Congress in an advisory capacity concerning consumer affairs. She had been an active member of the prestigious Confrerie de la Chaine de Rotisseurs, a food and wine organization that toured and attended cooking schools throughout Europe.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Bradford, with Father Robert Rayson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Tiskilwa.
Visitation will be one hour before the services in the church.
The Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford is in charge of arrangements.
Christopher Woolley
MOUNT CARROLL -- Christopher Woolley, the son of Rebecca Flanagan of Mount Carroll, was stillborn Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Mercy Hospital in Clinton, Iowa.
Survivors include five siblings, Tiffany Flanagan of San Diego, Calif., and Brittany Klein, Travis Klein, Taran Klein and Shannon Klein, all at home; maternal grandparents, Sally and John Woolley of Princeton; and paternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Woolley of Princeton.
Graveside services were held Friday in Prairie Repose Cemetery, Dover, with the Rev. Fred Meisenheimer officiating.
Annetta Morris
TISKILWA -- Annetta F. Morris, 97, of Tiskilwa died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at the home of her daughter in Wataga.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church, Tiskilwa, with Arthur Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today in the Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, and one hour before the services Friday in the church.
Hurshel Reynolds
PRINCETON -- Hurshel Reynolds, 48, of 229 Sarah Ave., Princeton, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
He was born Nov. 16, 1953, in Forrest City, Ark., to Hurshel L. and Hattie M. (Marcum) Reynolds.
He was a retired U.S. marshall and had been a police officer in Missouri, a correctional officer and security guard.
Survivors include one daughter, Tiffany (Darrell) Baker of Missouri; two step-daughters, Melissa (Lupe) Villegas of Michigan, and Amanda Kloc of Princeton; three brothers, Danny McDonald of Sheridan, Dave (Pat) Pedbetter of the state of Washington, and Leroy McDonald; two sisters, Betty (Chuck) Brunton of Sheridan, and Audra Luker of Elgin; a special friend, Linda Kloc of Princeton; and seven grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today, Saturday at the Oakland Cemetery Chapel in Princeton, the Rev. Laura Root officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Bureau/Putnam Crimestoppers or Princeton Nazarene Church.
Lisa Trone
WYANET -- Lisa Marie Trone, 43, of 118 E. North St., Wyanet, died at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
She was born Feb. 7, 1959, in Beardstown to Glen E. and Vivian (Fuqua) Trone.
She received her bachelor of science degree in nursing from MacMurray College in Jacksonville in 1987 and was a registered nurse at the Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon. She was a member of the Princeton Assembly of God Christian Church.
Survivors include her parents of Walnut; two children, Daniel C. Trone and Jennifer Paige Trone, both at home; one sister, Janet Steinman of Hamilton, Ill.; and one brother, Tom Trone of Champaign.
Services were held Friday in the Worthington Funeral Home, Rushville, with the Rev. Scott Henley officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
Visitation was held before the services.
Memorials may be directed to a fund for her children's education in care of Amcore Bank in Princeton.
Mabel Tadie
GALESBURG -- Mabel J. Tadie, 75, of 1250 W. Carl Sandburg Drive, formerly of 1048 Johnston St., Galesburg, died at 6:18 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.
She was born March 29, 1927, in Ladd to Angelo and Mary (Corbi) Rivasi.
She graduated from Knox College in Galesburg in 1950 with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She was a nurse for St. Mary's Hospital, the Knox County Tuberculosis Office and the Galesburg Clinic.
She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Galesburg.
Survivors include three sons, Eugene P. (Virginia Canil) Tadie of Falls Church, Va., Patrick J. (Beatriz) Tadie of Potomac, Va., and Michael E. (Gwen) Tadie of Alexandria, Va.; one brother, Carl Rivasi of Fort Pierce, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Palmieri of Henry, Esther Cattani of Ladd and Dorothy McNally of LaSalle; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Services were held Monday in Immaculate Heart of Mary with the Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday in the Watson Funeral Home in Galesburg.
Memorials may be directed to Costa Catholic School.
Ruth Middleton
WALNUT -- Ruth I. Middleton, 92, a resident of the Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at the home.
Born Aug. 20, 1910, in Sterling to Norman and Olive (Sigman) Sarver, she married Gean H. Middleton Feb. 9, 1929, in Princeton. He died Oct. 31, 1990.
She was a member of the Walnut United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Jim (Anne) Middleton of Walnut, Jack Middleton of Mansfield, Ohio, and Joe (Carol) Middleton of Brunswick, Ga.; seven daughters, Genevieve (Dean) Walters, Rita Hallman and Charlotte (Bruce) Von Holten, all of Walnut, Lois (Gail) Swanson and Anita (Kent) Carpenter, both of Manlius, Phyllis (Darrell) Kump of Oregon, Ill., and Betty (Marlin) Jensen of Dixon; two brothers, Richard Sarver of Walnut and William (Gloria) Sarver of Rockford; one sister, Dorothy Royer of Rock Falls; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, three grandchildren, and one son-in-law, David Hallman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Saturday, in the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Pearle Lange officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday in the funeral home.
