Clinton Behrens
WALNUT -- Clinton Behrens, 80, of 500 Don Marquis Drive, Walnut, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Colonial Hall Living Center in Princeton.
Born April 6, 1924, in Manlius to Benjamin H. and Martha A. (Jensen) Behrens, he married Olga Lambert in March 1945 in New Orleans. She died in July 1952. He then married Caryl Ioder Dec. 27, 1953, in the Red Oak United Methodist Church, Walnut. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 12th Armored Division and served at the Battle of the Bulge. He farmed in the Walnut area for several years and then worked at Case Implement in Princeton as store manager for about 15 years. After his retirement, he was self-employed as a distributor of live game in Chicago Markets for many years.
He was a member of the Red Oak United Methodist Church, Princeton Elks Club and Walnut American Legion Post 179.
Also surviving are one daughter, Phyllis Donahue of Magnolia, Texas; two sons, David (Lois) Behrens of Walnut and Don (Karen) Behrens of Harmon; one brother, James Behrens of Prophetstown; one sister, Elaine Martin of Ohio, Ill.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Linda; one sister, Katie Phillips; and two grandchildren in infancy.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Bob Meador, pastor of the Red Oak United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the Red Oak United Methodist Church, Walnut Fire Department or Colonial Hall Living Center.
Jessica Burtsfield
EUREKA -- Jessica L. Burtsfield, 25, of Eureka, formerly of Washburn, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident in rural Eureka.
She was born Feb. 12, 1979, in Peoria to Jack and Cheryl Keith Burtsfield.
She was a member of the Washburn Methodist Church. She also attended Oehrlein School of Cosmetology in East Peoria.
Survivors include her fiancee, Erik Bruell of Eureka; one daughter, Chloe Elizabeth Bruell; her father, Jack Burtsfield of Spring Bay; one brother, David Burtsfield of Washburn; and her grandparents, Jack and Nina Keith, and Ray and Mary Burtsfield, all of Washburn.
Her mother, Cheryl, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Washburn United Methodist Church, the Rev. David Pyell officiating. Burial will be in Buckingham Cemetery in Washburn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ries-McKitrick & Newton Mortuary in Washburn.
Memorials may be made to her daughter, Chloe Bruell, in care of the Alpha Community Bank, Washburn.
Herbert Davenport
PRINCETON -- Herbert L. Davenport, 92, of 515 S. Sixth St., Princeton, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
He willed his body to medical science at the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Assunta Fambrini
SPRING VALLEY -- Assunta "Ann" Fambrini, 100, of 121 E. Devlin St., Spring Valley, died at 7:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at the Spring Valley Nursing Center in Spring Valley.
Born Oct. 16, 1903, in Spring Valley to Joseph and Nicola (Bigiarelli) Marinangeli, she married Baptista Fambrini Oct. 6, 1945, in Queen of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaSalle. He died Jan. 12, 2001.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Spring Valley and the Mother Cabrini Sodality of the church.
Survivors include three great-nieces, Julia Mannix, Ellen Davidson and Colleen Cates; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Spring Valley, with the Rev. Joseph Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
William Morrow
HENRY -- Dr. William S. Morrow, 80, of West Hickory Grove, Dunlap, formerly of Henry, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Born May 18, 1923, in Columbus, Ohio, to William and Frances Keene Morrow, he married Elizabeth Davenport in Chicago on July 1, 1951. She survives.
He practiced medicine for many years in Harvard, Ill., and was a member of the Illinois and McHenry County Medical Societies. He was a member of the Henry United Methodist Church and its choir. He was a former member of the Henry Community Ambulance Board of Directors, the Henry Rotary Club, the Marshall Putnam County American Cancer Society, the Peoria Astrology Association, and took part in the literacy program at the Henry Grade School.
Survivors include one son, Bill (Liz) Morrow of Mahomet; two daughters, Maureen (Sean) Leuba of Peoria and Sue (Gary) Hulin of Wyoming, Ill.; one sister, Mary (Robert) Weise of Richardson, Texas; and four grandsons.
One daughter, Marybeth, one brother and one sister all preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Chillicothe Mortuary, the Revs. Mary Kathryn Pearce and Ken Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Harvard at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Memorials may be made to the Henry Community Ambulance Service, the Harvard Rescue Squad or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Marjorie Thompson-Feik
PRINCETON -- Marjorie O. Thompson-Feik, 90, 607 Park Ave., LaMoille, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born Jan. 13, 1913, in Bureau Township of Bureau County to Dennis and Luella (Olds) Woods, she married Neil Thompson June 12, 1935. He died in 1976. She then married Melvin Feik Dec. 12, 1992. He survives.
She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in LaMoille.
Also surviving are one daughter, Margo (William) Phillips of LaMoille; two sons, Dennis (Linda) Thompson of Princeton and Larry (Lana) Thompson of Roswell, N.M.; two stepchildren, Richard (Barbara) Feik of LaMoille and Jane (Dave) Dilbeck of Mendota; three sisters, Clara Madison, Martha Swanson and Ayliffe Transou, all of Princeton; six grandchildren, Jeff Thompson, Trisha Johnson, Steve Phillips, Doug Phillips, Richard Thompson and Gina Thompson; stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Lisa Kruse-Safford officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the Community United Methodist Church.
Meril Tumbleson
NEPONSET -- Meril M. Tumbleson, 78, of rural Neponset died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Kewanee Care Nursing Home in Kewanee.
Born Nov. 19, 1925, in Bradford to William and Edna (Petersen) Tumbleson, he married Arlene Linden July 30, 1945, in Bradford. She survives.
He was a farmer all his life, retiring in 2001. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church in Bradford.
Also surviving are one son, Dan (Linda) Tumbleson of Buda; two daughters, Becky (Les) Orwig of Wyanet and Theresa Foes of East Moline; one brother, Bill Tumbleson of Kewanee; one sister, Carol (Paul) Mowbray of Kewanee; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Phyllis Tumbleson and Angela Wilson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, in the Leet Memorial United Methodist Church, Bradford, with Father Jerry S. Rafalko officiating. Burial will be in the Bradford Cemetery in Bradford.
Visitation was held Monday in the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford.
