Born in Highland Park, she lived in both Arlington Heights and Palatine. She worked for the Northwest Suburban Special Education for over 27 years and was a member of the Palatine women's club and many bridge clubs. A funeral service for Mary Ellen Gallagher nee Byrne, 83, took place on Monday, Jan. 23, at St. Vincent DePaul Church in Chicago. Visitation was at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge with interment at All Saints cemetery. Mrs. Gallagher died on Jan. 19. She was the beloved wife of Neil Sr. for 60 wonderful years. A funeral service for Raymond E. Hinze, 85, took place on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment will be in Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights. Mr. Hinze was born on Aug. 16, 1020 in Evanston. He was employed as a sheet metal journeyman and owned Black Acre farm and roadside stand for 47 years. He was also on the board of directors of the Cook County Farm Bureau. He died at his home on Jan. 27. He was preceded in death by his brother Harvey (Barbara) and a sister Esther. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Laura (nee Fritz); his children David, Howard (Sharon), Karen (James) Gutzmer and Peggy (James) Refenes; grandchildren Peter, Mark, Kevin, Steven, Matthew, Josh, Rachel, James, Rebecca and Leah; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Donald LeRoy Kaiser, 81, was held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the G.L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines. Interment took place in Rock Island National cemetery in Rock Island, Ill. Born April 15, 1924, in Moline, Ill., he passed away Saturday, Jan. 28 in his home. Mr. Kaiser was an industrial chimney inspector, and was a World War II Marine Corps veteran who had been stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He is survived by his wife, Sandy (nee Lipp); sons and daughters, Dana, Mark, Kim, Kevin, Steven, Jeffrey (Kris) and Denise (Jeff); grandchildren, Amy, Travis, Patrick, Mark A., Cati, Jacob, Samantha, Lucas, Marissa and Charlie; and his sisters, Shirley (David) and Marilyn (Byrad). Arlington Hts. resident Walter C. Krause died Jan. 25 at Lutheran Home For The Aged. He was celebrated with services at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and Montrose cemetery. Mr. Krause was a switchman for Illinois Bell by trade and a veteran. He belonged to the Moose Lodge, American Legion Post #134 and the Niles Senior Center. Roman Madura passed away Jan. 23 at the age of 84. The Chicago native was celebrated with services over the weekend at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, St. Isaac Jogues Church and Maryhill cemetery. Rita Rose Gresens (nee Ostrowski) of Rolling Meadows passed away Mar. 8. She was born Feb. 21, 1930 in Chicago. Mrs. Gresens was the head housekeeper at Clearbrook for 17 years. She was preceded in death by husband Charles E. and sister Virginia Charnota. She is survived by children Charles (Katy) Gresens and Robin Gruenfeld; and grandchildren Matt Gruenfeld, Jennifer (Jason) House and Heather and Sean Gresens. Miriam Webb Jung of Palatine passed away Mar. 8 at Alexian Brother Medical Center, where she'd served many years as a volunteer. She had been a resident of the northwest suburbs for 77 years. Mrs. Jung had also volunteered as a Girl Scout and 4-H leader and with different school systems. She was a manager in a printing firm. She was preceded in death by husband Erich H. Jung and siblings Maurice Webb and Margaret Webb Hardy. Mrs. Webb was born Oct. 24, 1906. Survivors include daughters Erica (Robert) Schwartzler and Ann Finney; granddaughters Roberta (Dan) O'Connell, Susan (Allan) Rath, Sarah (Jim Hernandez), Ellen (Charles) Leonard, Linda (James) Tepper and Kate Schwarzler; great-grandchildren Kerry, Erica and John O'Connell, Emily and Erin Rath and Riley and Colin Hernandez; sister Madeline Webb Montelbano; and many nieces and nephews. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater as a combat infantryman. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He also owned SP Piraino Produce in the South Water Market. He died at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village on Mar. 6. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Piraino. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Audrey M.
