SUZANNE T. JACOBS

A memorial service for Suzanne T. Jacobs, nee Turner, 73, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 11 a.m. at Park Ridge Community Church, in Park Ridge. Mrs. Jacobs lived in Park Ridge before moving to Des Plaines. She died in her home on Tuesday, Aug. 8. Her husband Thomas L., her stepdaughter Mary Jo Jacobs and her brother Robert Turner preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Ted (Amy) and Rob (Paul Amirault); her stepchildren Judy (Don) Crampton, Susan (Jim) McAninch, Peggy (Mike) Thomas and Jenny (Toby) Potter; her grandchildren Jake, Ross, Meade and Wesley Crampton, David, Jana, Lauren and Andrew McAninch, Zachary and Meryl Thomas and Stuart Potter; her great-grandchildren D.C., Charley and Harry Crampton, Naomi and Adam Wernham and Emma McAninch; and her sister Kay Sukow. Ryan-Parke Funeral Home in Park Ridge made funeral arrangements.

LYNN M. KMIECIK
Of Rolling Meadows

Lynn M. (nee Schneider) Kmiecik, 59, passed away at Lutheran General Hospital on Aug. 24. She was born in Evanston Nov. 2, 1946, and was a baggage service agent for United Airlines for over 25 years. Wife of the late Raymond J. Kmiecik, she is survived by her sons, John, Jeffrey, and Steven Collins, as well as her mother, Georgya Schneider, and her brother, Henry J. (Sharon) Schneider. Mrs. Kmiecik is preceded in death by her daughter, Georgya Lynn Schneider, and her father Henry Schneider. Visitation was conducted Monday at Meadows Funeral Home, Rolling Meadows. Funeral services were offered on Aug. 29 at St. Colette Church, followed by interment at St. Michael cemetery, Palatine. For more information, contact Meadows Funeral Home at (847) 253-0224.

MARY MCGUINNESS
Wife and mother

Mary T. McGuinness (nee Mulhem) died Aug. 20 at age 76. She was a native of Glenhest, Mayo County, Ireland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis McGuinness, daughter Maureen Baxter, son-in-law Thomas Baxter and brother Daniel. She is survived by her other children, Dennis (Marikay) McGuinness Jr. and Kathleen McGuinness; grandchildren Ryan, Kiel and Shane McGuinness and Shannon and Alex Wealther; siblings Thomas (TP) (Eileen) Mulhem, Agnes (the late Patrick) Collins, Doreen (Richard) Gorostiza of San Diego, sister-in-law Mary (the late John) Floyd and many nieces and nephews. Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 22, with funeral Mass at St. Alphonsus Liguori Church. She was buried at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines.

MICHAEL JAY NEFF
Drummer, Musician

Des Plaines native Michael Jay Neff, 54, a drummer who performed with many musical groups during his lifetime, died on Thursday, Aug. 24 at his Des Plaines home. Born Oct. 20, 1951, Mr. Neff is survived by his mother, Martha P. Schwenk; brother Barry (Linda); sister Maura (Charles) McKay; a niece; and his former wife. A memorial service was held yesterday (Tuesday) at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines.

ANNITA NIE
Registered nurse

Annita M. Nie, a former Rolling Meadows resident, died Aug. 23 in Mooresville, N.C. She was born Oct. 3, 1933 in Cincinnati. Annita Suesz married Donald Nie, and they raised Regina (Randy) Prior, Donna (Brian) Kroger, Cathy (John) Wendel, Michael (Ann) Miskin, John (Diane) Nie, Margaret (Jerry) Berg, James (Gina-Faye) and Matthew (Lisa) Nie. She had 25 grandchildren and a brother, Frank ³Buddy² Suesz. Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 27, with funeral the following day. Mrs. Nie was buried at St. Michael cemetery in Palatine.

BERNICE SLADEK
Mother and grandmother

Bernice L. Sladek of Rolling Meadows died Aug. 23 at the Asta Care Center in Elgin. She was born Aug. 28, 1921 in Verona, Pa. Bernice Butler married the late George Sladek and Edward L. Herman. Her children were Candace (Scott) Schumacher, George (Carrol) and Randolph. She was the grandmother of Lara and Christopher Schumacher and Michael, Elisabeth, Rebecca and Jonothon Sladek; sister of Paul (Nancy) Butler and the late Janet (Gene) Walsh. Visitation and funeral were Sunday, Aug. 27.

WALTER A. SOKOLOWSKI
Of Rolling Meadows

A funeral mass for Walter A. Sokolowski, 99, took place Saturday, Aug. 26 at St. Colette Church in Rolling Meadows. Visitation was Friday, Aug. 25 at the Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Sokolowski was an army veteran of World War II. He worked for Wiebolt's department store. He is survived by his wife Louise; children Anita (Peter) Janczak, Anthony (Marilee) Sokolowski; grandchildren Tony (Jennifer) Sokolowski, Tim (Faby) Sokolowski, Chandra (Tom) Kearney; great grandchildren Calab, Dyan, Kai and Samantha Sokolowski and Ryan Kearney. Interment was at St. Adalbert cemetery in Niles. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.

GENEVIEVE R. ANDRES
Of Arlington Hts.

A funeral mass for Genevieve R. Andres, 87, will be celebrated tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Hts. Rd. in Arlington Hts. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of mass. Fathers Richard M. Jacobs and William Zavaski will officiate. Private interment at St. Mary cemetery in Buffalo Grove. Genevieve was born Sept. 10, 1919 in Chicago. She was a housewife and owner of Bill's Inn in Arlington Hts. with her late husband, Bill, and also of Eisenhohl Nor-Wis Resort in Boulder Junction, Wi., which she operated with her late husband, Joseph Eisenkohl. She was the former president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Arlington Hts. She was also a member of St. James Church for 65 years. She passed away Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Claremont in Buffalo Grove. Genevieve is preceded in death by her husbands, William E. Andres and Jospeh Eisenkohl, and her parents, Walter and Estelle (nee Goralczyk) Jacobs. In lieu of flowers, masses appreciated or memorials may be made to St. James Building for the Future Campaign, 820 N. Arlington Hts. Rd., Arlington Hts., the American Cancer Society, 100 W. Palatine Rd., Palatine, or the Alzheimer's Association, 4709 Golf Rd., Ste. 1015, Skokie. Funeral arrangements made by Davenport Family Funeral Home.

JACK M. BRINK, SR.
Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Jack M. Brink, Sr., 88, of Mt. Prospect will be today at 11 a.m. at St. Simon Episcopal Church, 717 W. Kirchoff Rd., in Arlington Hts. Interment at Memory Gardens cemetery. Born January 30, 1918 in Chicago, Jack was a Mt. Prospect resident for 52 years. He loved golf and one of his greatest joys was teaching his children and grandchildren the game. He also loved art and would often draw pictures for his grandchildren, whom he would support in their activities no matter how long he had to travel to do so. His hope was for his family to continue to love golf and art. He was the beloved husband of Dolores Brink whom he was married to for 53 years. He passed away Saturday, Oct. 28. Jack is survived by his wife, his children Jack M. (Patty) Brink II, William J. Brink, Linda M. (Mike) Krese, Cynthia S. (Rick) Pauer, David G. Brink, Nicki (David) Gatto, Jennifer Krese, Michael Krese, Matthew Krese, and Nathaniel Pauer. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Simon Episcopal Church. CHARLES M. CAMARATA
Of Rolling Meadows

A funeral mass for Charles M. Camarata, 92, of Rolling Meadows took place on Friday, Oct. 20 at St. Colette Church. Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 20 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Interment at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Mr. Camarata was born on July 22, 1914 in New Maine, Penn. He was also a former resident of Donna, Texas. He worked was a steamfitter and was a member of Pipe Fitter Union Local 597, as well as a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, serving in the Navy. He died on Oct. 18, 2006 at Rosewood of Inverness. Mr. Camarata was preceded in death by his wife Hazel and sister Nancy Battaglini. He is survived by his children Diane (James) Dubinski and Charles Sr. (Sandy), grandchildren Melissa (Ron) Richter, Gregory Dubinski, Cynthia (Larry) Anselmo, and Sheri, Brian, and Michael Camarata, as well as sister Grace Carrubba. In lieu of flowers, contibutions to the Disable Veteran Association, 2122 West Taylor St., Chicago, IL, 60612.

THOMAS W. FLYNN
Of Niles

Funeral services for Thomas W. Flynn, 70, of Niles took place at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. Brebeuf church on Friday, Oct. 13. Visitation was the preceding day. Interment at Maryhill cemetery. Mr. Flynn was born March 22, 1936 in Chicago. An attorney, veteran and former Marine, he passed away Monday, Oct. 9. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Victoria (nee Howe) Flynn, and his son Michael Flynn. He is survived by his wife Judith (nee O'Connell) Flynn, his children Robert Flynn and Susan (Michael) Walsh, his sister-in-law Patricia McCauley, and his Grandchildren Nicholas, Kira, Zachary, Abigael, Jack, and Lileigh. He was fond uncle of many.

ELLEN H. GRADY

A funeral service for Ellen H. Grady (nee Hofman), 83, of Arlington Hts., took place Tuesday, Oct. 30 in Arlington Hts. Interment private . Ms. Grady was born on July 2, 1923 in Chicago. She passed away Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Manor Care in Northbrook. Ms. Grady was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Frances (nee Wiley) Hofman. She is survived by her beloved sons Kenneth A. (June) Grady, her dear grandchildren Marie E. Grady, Erin M. Grady, and Brendan C. Grady, her fond sister Jeanette (J. Rockhill) Todd Gray, her nephew William Mills Todd III, and her nieces Ellen Wiley Todd and Sarah E. Todd. A funeral service for Gladys L. Graumann, 85, of Prospect Heights, was held Wednesday at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Visitation was held Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens cemetery. Ms. Graumann was born on Jan. 22, 1921 in Des Plaines. She passed away on Oct. 26, 2006 in Elizabeth, Ill. Ms. Graumann was preceded in death by her husband Julius H. She is survived by her children Melodie (Paul) Erickson, Carter (Michele) Graumann, Rene (Robert) Brown, Mark (Barb) Graumann, and Daryl (Marie) Graumann, and siblings Marion Lutz and Elroy Reiter, as well as her 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

BETTY JOHNSON
Of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Betty Johnson (nee Schellenberg), 81, will be today at 11 a.m. at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines with Deacon James O'Malley presiding. Visitation was yesterday. Private interment. Mrs. Johnson was born May 6, 1925 in Chicago. An avid stamp collector, she loved to needle point and travel. Her memberships included the Des Plaines Frisby Senior Center, the Aqua Exercise at Willow Creek in Rosemont, and the Carriage Campers. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert W. Johnson, her sons Keith R. (Reg) Johnson and Mark (Joanne) Johnson, and her grandchildren Jeffrey (Stephanie) Johnson, Michael (Amy) Johnson, and Matthew Johnson. Memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Association appreciated.

LOTTIE P. KALISZ
Of Niles

A funeral service for Lottie P. Kalisz, 94, took place on Oct. 28, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. A funeral mass followed at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Adalbert cemetery. Ms. Kalisz was born on July 7, 1912 in Chicago. She was a homemaker for her family. She died on Oct. 23, 2006 at her home. Ms. Kalisz was preceded in death by her parents Walenty and Eleanor Wasielewski, her husband John, and brother Stanley Wasielewski. She is survived by her son Ronald (Maxine), daughter Diane (Dennis) Arndt, grandchildren Sharon (Patrick) Cole, Brian Arndt, and John, David, and Kevin Kalisz.

DOROTHY KNAACK
Of Des Plaines

A funeral mass for Dorothy Knaack, 75, of Des Plaines, took place on Monday, Oct. 30 at St. Mary Church. Visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 29 at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment at Mt. Emblem. Ms. Knaack was born on Feb. 14, 1931 in Chicago. She worked as a retail payroll supervisor for pharmaceutical companies and was a member of St. Mary Church. She died on Oct. 26, 2006 in Park Ridge. Ms. Knaack is survived by her sisters Margaret Berger and Gladys Remner, nieces Leslie Ludden and Karen (Kenneth) Forman, great nephew Robert (Cara) Forman, and dear friends Mary Hartwick, Ed (Carol) Lisowski, Jeff Lisowski, and Linda (Kelly) O'Conner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to one's favorite charity.

MARILYN A. NESTLER
Of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Marilyn A. Nestler, 60, of Rolling Meadows, was held at St. Colette Church. Visitation was at Meadows Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Michael cemetery in Palatine. Ms. Nestler was born on Jan. 14, 1946. She was a Chicago public school teacher for the last 15 years at Beaubien School. She died on Oct. 21, 2006 at her home. Ms. Nestler was preceded in death by her father Edward. She is survived by her sons Brian (Sheri) and Dr. David (Michelle) Nestler, grandchild Alley, brothers John (Beverly) and Edward (JoAnn) O'Leary, and mother Dorothy O'Leary. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Autism Society of Illinois, 2200 South Main St., Lombard, IL.

ALBIN OLSON
Of Arlington Heights

A visitation service for Albin Olson, 94, took place on Sunday, Oct. 29, at the M.J. Suerth Funeral Home in Chicago. Mr. Olson was born in Bark River, Michigan on Jan. 20, 1912. He died at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights on Sunday, Oct. 22. He worked as a carpenter and then as a superintendent in the construction trades. Mr. Olson was survived by his daughters Lorry (the late Jack) Barlow, and Pat Olson, his grandchildren Scott (Sue) Christiansen, and Carolyn (Doug) Destache, his great grandchildren Kelsey and Dana Christiansen, and Nicole and Jamie Destache, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Olson, who died in 1995. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity are appreciated.

REYNOLD PILOUSEK
Of Niles

A funeral service for Reynold Pilousek, 76, of Niles will be tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Visitation, also at Skaja Terrace, is today from 3 to 8 p.m. Mr. Pilousek was born on April 14, 1930. A construction worker, he was a member of the Niles Senior Center and the Niles Senior Citizens Club. He also volunteered at Lutheran General Hospital. He passed away on Friday, Oct. 27 at Lutheran General Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eric and Anna E. (nee Kern) Pilousek, and his brother Ronald (Annette) Pilousek. He is survived by his nieces Annette (William) Koch, April Pilousek, and Holly (Doug) Bressler, his grand nieces and nephews Annette, Billy, David, Adam, Emily and Hannah, and his great niece Ronnette. In lieu of flowers contributions to Niles Food Pantry, 1000 Civic Center in Niles.
