Hartman; mother of Carlton (Kristine) Hartman; grandmother of Stephanie; sister of Constance (Wayne) Wolf. Mrs. Hartman was a past village clerk and trustee for the Village of Wheeling. Memorial visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Kolssak Funeral Home in Wheeling. Interment was private.

Roberta A. Holden, 79, of Des Plaines, died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009 at Holy Family Health Center. She was born Aug. 6, 1929 in Ponchatoula, LA and was an antique dealer. A funeral service was held at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 6 and St. Mary Church with interment at Forest Home cemetery in Wisconsin. She is survived by her husband, Laurence Holden; children, Gregory Holden, Michael Holden and Lauren (Kurt) Wolf; and her four grandchildren and nieces.

Helen Sijeric Jewgieniew, 95, of Niles, died on Monday, July 27, 2009 at her home. She was born Aug. 18, 1913 in Poland. Funeral services were held at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 29 and St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles. Interment was at Maryhill cemetery. Survivors include her children, Casimir Jewgieniew, Jerzy (Ella), Jessie, Lela, Henry (Sylvia), Stanley, Theresa (Jorge), 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Alice Catherine Kummerow (nee Valkman) 96, of Des Plaines, died on Aug. 2, 2009 at Snow Valley Center Nursing Home in Lisle. She was born Dec. 21, 1912. She was the wife of the late Richard W. Kummerow; mother of Richard C. Kummerow (Linda); grandmother of David, Christiana and Susan. Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Lisle handled the arrangements. Burial was on Aug. 6 in Irving Park cemetery, Chicago.

Delores Irene Loeb, 81, of Mt. Prospect, was born Feb. 5, 1928 and died in July. A funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mt. Prospect. Burial was private. Mrs. Loeb became a nurse later in life and worked for a local nursing home. She was a volunteer at The Lutheran Home and did volunteer work for P.A.D.S. She also was a foster parent of nine infants. She is survived by her husband, Harmon Loeb; children, Mark Loeb (Amy), Heidi Lloyd (Dick), five grandchildren, a niece, nephew and cousin.

Mary Jo Lynas (nee Brigham), 70, of Rolling Meadows, died Aug. 4, 2009 at her home. She was born June 8, 1939 in Battle Creek, Mich. She was the wife of the late Gene Lynas; mother of Kenneth (Jeanne) Nagel; Deborah (Wes) Haight, Scott (Bridget) Nagel and Daniel (Lori) Keller; grandmother of eight; and sister of Robert (Delphine) Brigham. A graveside service and interment were held Monday, Aug. 10 at Elwood cemetery, Elwood, Indiana.

Doris Masset, of Wheeling, died Aug. 6, 2009 at the Harbor House in Wheeling. She was born Nov. 21, 1909 in Haverstraw, NY. She is survived by her nephew, Eugene (Margaret) Bruckert and was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Masset. A memorial mass was held Monday, Aug. 10 at Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Arlington Hts. Interment will be at Calvary cemetery, Woodside NY.

Anna Josephine Miksch (nee Geraci), 74, of Arlington Hts., died July 26, 2009. She worked for State Farm Insurance for many years and for her daughter's CPA office in Florida. She was the wife of the late Victor; mother of Kenneth (Debbie) and Diane Miksch and grandmother of three. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 30 at Meadows Funeral Home and St. Simon Episcopal Church in Arlington Hts. with interment at All Saints cemetery, Des Plaines.

Norma Morrison, a long-time Glenview resident, died Monday, July 27, 2009 in her sleep at her home. Morrison is survived by her husband, William Morrison, and son, David Morrison, who lived with her in her Glenview home, and another son living in Washington, D.C. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m. at Wagner Farm in Glenview. All are invited to attend.

Harold H. Schultz, 89, of Arlington Hts., died on July 27, 2009. He was the husband of Charlotte Necia Schultz, brother to John A. Jr. (Marjorie) Schultz, uncle to John P. (Sharon) Schultz, James C. (Virginia) Schultz, Marcy L. (Gary) Evans and Jeffrey A. (Melinda) Schultz, great uncle to Matthew and Bryant Evans and Erik and Lauren Schultz. Funeral services were Friday, July 31 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. Entombment took place Saturday, Aug. 1 at Mound cemetery in Racine, Wisc.

Gordon T. Shick, 66, of Schaumburg, formerly of Elk Grove Village, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. He recently retired from Exhibit Group Giltspur after 39 years of employment. He was born in Punxsutawney, PA and was a veteran of the Army. Mr. Shick is survived by his wife, Joan B. and children, Heather Y. and Gordon R. Shick; siblings Gerald and Larry Shick. There were no funeral services.

Jr. (Linda) Van Hyning, Barbara (Richard) Nelson and the late Thomas J. (Paula) Van Hyning; grandfather of six and great grandfather of 14. He was preceded in death by one grandchild and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home, Des Plaines.

Richard J. Baranowski, 87, of Sarasota, Florida, died on Aug. 9, 2009. He was the husband of Elizabeth; father of Donna, Richard (Mary) of Arlington Hts. and Craig (Trudy); grandfather of April, R.J. and Kateri; brother of Lorraine Brilbeck. Baranowski served as a chief petty officer in the Coast Guard during WWII. Prayers were said on Thursday, Aug. 13, at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. with entombment at All Saints.

She was born March 26, 1931, in Chicago, and died Aug. 10 at Manor Care in Arlington Hts. She was the wife of the late Jerome F. Blaski; mother of Linda (Bill) Thomas, Barbara Blaski and the late Brian (Kirsten Bray) Blaski; and grandmother of four.

Robert Carl Franz, of Rolling Meadows, died on Aug. 11, 2009 in Chicago. He was born in Indianapolis, Ind., Oct. 25, 1939. He was the owner of Bob's Union 76 in Palatine and worked for the Village of Palatine. He served in the US Navy. He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons Richard Franz, Randy Franz (Wendy), Michael Franz (Julie), Jeffery Franz (Linda) and daughters, Jennifer Walker (Glynn), Kimberly Loomans (Dan); and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 17 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Palatine. Meadows Funeral Home made the arrangements.

Jeff Grimm, 39, of Oak Park, formerly of Arlington Hts., died suddenly of heart failure on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009. Grimm served in the U.S. Army Infantry Division as an Airborne Ranger from 1988-1993, stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. He is survived by his girlfriend, Kathleen Dudaryk; his mother Sue Grimm; siblings, Wendy (Jim) Milligan, Laura, Ashlynn and Joe Grimm. A funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 13 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. Interment was private.

Virginia E. Jobst, of Arlington Hts. died on Aug. 15, 2009 in Park Ridge. She was born July 8, 1918 in Chicago and retired after working 30 years at New Trier East High School where she taught public speaking. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21 at St. Cecilia Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment is private. Glueckert Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
