Charlotte Ida Follett was born in Chicago on Sept. 26, 1913 and died on Sept. 20, 2009 at her home. She is survived by her children, Carol Ann Bianchi, Vernette Cheryl (Frank) Sullivan, Ronald Vernon (Mary Alice) Follett and Glen Charles (Patricia) Follett; her eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Otto Follett. Funeral services were said Wednesday, Sept. 23 at Orchard Evangelical Free Church, Arlington Hts. Entombment at Memory Gardens.

Geraldine B. Hanson, 83, of Rolling Meadows, died Sept. 23, 2009 in her home. She was born Apr. 15, 1926. She worked at Clearbrook and was a member of the organization's Women's Board. Mrs. Hanson was the wife of the late Kenneth; mother of Lee and the late Wayne Hanson; and sister of the late Shirley Bertele. Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 28 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows.

A memorial service for Ralph Hardy, 88, of Palatine, will be on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at Christ Lutheran Church, Palatine. He was born Sept. 10, 1921, in Chicago and died on Friday, Sept. 25 in Arlington Hts. Mr. Hardy was a sergeant in the U.S. Army having served in World War II as a rear tail gunner. Survivors include, brother, Bernard Hardy; nieces, Gail Talbot, Karen Karsten, Victoria (Conrad) Schramm, Leslie (Charles) Johnson, Drue (David) Campbell; and nephew, Raymond Karsten. Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Palatine, handled the arrangements.

Gail L. Hart was born Aug. 24, 1937 in Chicago and died Sept. 21, 2009 at ManorCare of Rolling Meadows. Mrs. Hart was employed by the Village of Arlington Hts. for over 30 years before retiring in 2002. Survivors include her children, Timothy M. (Wendy) Hart, Wendy S. (Will Tieman) Hart and Terence D. (Melinda) Hart; her seven grandchildren, her sister and brother. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl "Fred" Hart. She was the wife of the late Raymond W.; mother of Roland and James (Linda) Kehe; grandmother of five and great-grandmother of 12. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 30 at The Lutheran Home. Steve Kiss, 88, of Niles, died on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 at Lutheran General Hospital. He was born Sept. 12, 1921 in Hungary and before retirement was a maintenance engineer. Funeral services were held at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 18 and St. John Brebeuf Church. Interment was at Maryhill cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Helen Kiss; children, Ann Grayzeck and Joe (Cookie) Kiss; four grandchildren, sister Wilma (Don) Rahrig and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rossberg was the wife of the late Adolph Henry; mother of Jay (Debbie) and Cheryl Rossberg; grandmother of two; great-grandmother of three; and sister of the late Viola Weiss, Florence Dome, William and Raymond Yost. Mrs. Schuett was the wife of the late Erwin Schuett; mother of the late Sandra Cirone, Sheryl (Patrick) Murray and Sheila (Kent) Smith; grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of 14. Funeral services for Gloria Stauss (nee Anderson) 80, of Rolling Meadows were held on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Palatine. She was born July 15, 1929 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and was raised in Chicago. She died on Sept. 21 in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Mrs. Stauss was the wife of the late Charles R.; mother of the late Charlie (Barb Folkes); grandmother of Jamie (Joe) Ragonese and Nicole Stauss.

Kenneth H. Stevens was born Aug. 4, 1928 in Chicago and died Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Hts. He was the owner of K & B Graphics, Inc., and a veteran of the Army having served in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; his children Richard (Nancy) Stevens and Johanna (Elizabeth Schell) Stevens and his grandchildren, Jake and Kate. Services and interment will be held privately. Torgny J. Westerberg

Torgny Joel Westerberg, 99, was born June 12, 1910 in Taylor, Texas and died on Sept. 24, 2009. Mr. Westerberg was married
to Lillian Dahl for 70 years. He founded Westerberg Engineering. He is survived by daughters, Lois Gaskin and Virginia (Larry) LaVelle; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 at the First United Methodist Church of Palatine.
Merryrose Wurtz

Merryrose Wurtz (nee Richardson) 73, was born Feb. 2, 1936 in Potlach, Idaho, and died Sept. 15, 2009. She served as staff vice president for risk management at Allied Products Corporation for a number of years. Mrs. Wurtz is survived by her children Diane Kenyon, Laura Wurtz and Brian (Lesley) Wurtz; five grandchildren and one brother, Jim (Kathie) Richardson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Ronald Wurtz and daughter, Linda Wurtz Steward. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 21 at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Interment at Elmwood cemetery.

Gayle B. Bantner, 86, of Elk Grove Village, died on Sept. 27, 2009 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He was a master sergeant in the Army during World War II, a pharmacist for 60 years and former owner of Elk Grove Drugs. From 1963-2005, he was a member of the Elk Grove Village Police and Fire Commission and from 1964-1972 was on the Elk Grove Village Plan Commission. He was the husband of the late Jane; father of John (Vivian) Gayle, H. (Sandra) Banter, Kathleen (Gerald) Walsh, Brenda (Allen) Carroll and Sharon Brown; loving grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Mass was celebrated Friday, Oct. 2 at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment at St. Michael cemetery, Palatine.

William A. Berg, 77, of Elk Grove Village, formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died on Sept. 15, 2009 in his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1932 in Leavenworth, Kansas, and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Aeronautical Radio, Inc., for 36 ½ years. Mr. Berg was the husband of Laura L. Berg; father of Jeffrey W. Berg and Kathryn Ann Kaya; grandfather of Nicholas Berg and Alexander Kaya; brother of Betty Ann (Raymond) Hoppe and loving uncle. Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at Grove Memorial Chapel. Interment in Kansas.

Mrs. Braun was the wife of Berton G. Braun; mother of David P. (Patricia) and Jeffrey D. (Tina) Braun; grandmother of four; and fond sister and aunt.
