A funeral mass for Arthur C. Vodicka, 82, of Park Ridge was celebrated at Our Lady of Ransom Church in Niles. Interment at All Saints cemetery, Des Plaines. Arrangements were made by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles. A native of Chicago and a retired sundries salesman, he died Aug. 14 in Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (nee Paskowicz); children Arthur J. (Mary); Robert (Anne), Richard, and Nancy (Jim) Lewandowski; grandchildren Alex (Allison), Mike, Annie, Tom, Matt, Christopher, Zachary, Jeff, Jamie, and Doug; great-grandchildren Alana and Alyssa; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass for John Q. Walsh, 79, of Chicago, was celebrated in St. Juliana Church on Aug. 24. Interment followed in All Saints cemetery. Arrangements were by Cooney Funeral Home, Park Ridge. He died Aug. 20. Surviving are his widow, Barbara (nee Brady); children Patricia (Stephen) Knapp, John Q. Jr., Annette (Mark) Sereika, Mary Barbara, Karen (Kevin) Miller, Steven J. (Anne), and Nancy (Stephen) McNamara; 18 grandchildren; and siblings Kieran (the late (Lois), Gerald (Judith) Walsh, Rita (Joseph) Zielinski, Catherine (Bruce) Hoffman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia.

Funeral services will take place today (Wednesday) for Felicidad M. Beltran (Medriano), 82, of Niles, at St. John Brebeuf church at 10 a.m. Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 20 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Maryhill cemetery. Ms. Beltran was born on March 2, 1925. She was a dentist and a member of the Illinois Association of Urdaneta Families. He passed away on Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband Andres, son Chris Cesar, daughters Claridad, Florian B. (Mario) Bayan, Demetria B. (Florencio) Serain, Marry Ann B. (Emmet) Micor, Eppie B. (Gary) Seminara, Jerrylene B. (Limuel) Sagadraca, brother Teofilo Medriano, her 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ms. Beltran was preceded in death by father, Dionicio C. Medriano, mother Cresencia T. (Cervantes) Medriano and sisters Juanita M. Laungayan and Flora M. Sumait.

A funeral for Andrew Bucaro of Elk Grove Village, 79, was held Monday, Aug. 20, at Grove Memorial Chapel. Visitation was held the day before at the same location. Mr. Bucaro was born in Chicago. He died Thursday, Aug. 16 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He worked for 25 years at the Metropolitan Sanitary District. He was also a Marine Corp. Veteran for IBEW Local 134. Additionally he was a member of the Laurel Masonic Lodge of Franklin Park. He is survived by his wife Joyce M. (nee Rizzo); children, Rev. Michael F., Andrew Jr., William B. (Ingrid), and Karen L. (Steven) Plantz; grandchildren, Michael, Cindy, Jason, William Jr., Michelle Bucaro, and Ashley, Shaun, Stevie Plantz. Entombment was held at Queen of Heaven cemetery.

Of Elk Grove Village
Chapel prayers for Josephine F. Coppola nee Dellaria of Elk Grove Village, 93, took place Saturday, Aug. 18 at Queen of the Rosary Church. Visitation was the previous day. Interment was at St. Joseph cemetery in River Grove. Ms. Coppola was born in Johnstown, Penn. The loving homemaker was also a member of Sheila Ray Senior Center in Elk Grove Village. She died at home Tuesday, Aug. 14 peacefully with her family. She is preceded in death by her brothers Charles Dellaria, Sammy Dellaria, and John (Mary) Dellaria. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Patrick J. Coppola, children Peter (Bernadette) Coppola, Joy (Dominic) Muzzupappa, grandchildren Anthony Muzzupappa, John (Andrea) Muzzupappa, and Nicole (Michael) Carstens, and great grandchildren Samantha, Dominic, Vincent, and Joseph, and brother Tony Dellaria.
LISA A. CURRIER

A funeral mass will be held for Lisa A. Currier, 47, of Elk Grove Village on Friday Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Queen of the Rosary Chapel. A 10:15 a.m. prayer will precede the mass at Grove Memorial Chapel at in Elk Grove Village. Visitation is on Thursday Aug. 23 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Currier was born in Evergreen Park and worked for 15 years as a social worker. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Millikin University and her Graduate Degree from Loyola University. She died on Sunday, Aug. 19 at her home with her family. Currier is survived by her nephews Daniel T. and Christopher J., niece Emma M. mother Madeline (Beville), brothers William J., Thomas J., James J. and David G. (Stefany). She is preceded in death by her father William J. Currier.
GERALD C. DAHM

Gerald "Jerry" C. Dahm, age 78 and a 51 year resident of Des Plaines, passed away Monday, Aug. 13 at Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview. Jerry was born in Evanston on November 16, 1928 to the late Raymond and Mildred (nee Woss) Dahm. He served with the U.S. Naval Reserve and had a 40 year career with NICOR before retiring 15 years ago. Jerry was a former member of Rotary International and previously served as an usher at St. Emily Church, Mt. Prospect. He was the beloved husband for 54 years of Loretta M. (nee Zeutschel) Dahm; loving father of Bradley G. Dahm and Cynthia A. Fosnow, both also of Des Plaines; proud grandfather of Jaime (Christopher) McNees; dear brother-in-law of Clara (Oscar) Beck, the late Ruth (the late Leonard) Marshall and the late Frank (Lorraine) Zeutschel; fond uncle, cousin and friend to many. Visitation was held Friday, August 17. Funeral Saturday, August 18. Interment at All Saints cemetery, Des Plaines.

A funeral service for Ethel A. Horn nee Engbrecht, 94, took place on Friday, Aug. 17, at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Entombment was at Mount Emblem cemetery. Visitation preceded the service. Mrs. Horn was born on Nov. 8, 1912 in Melrose Park. She died in her home on Monday, Aug. 13, 2007. Her husband Franklin, her parents Charles and Anna Engbrecht and her siblings Art, George, Helen, and Dorothy preceded her in death. Her nieces and nephews Shirley (Arnold) Marolf, Joan (late Ken) Becker, Robert (Patricia) Haertel, and Nancy (John) Culton and many great and great-great nieces and nephews survive her.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 18 for Xenophon Koliopoulos of Morton Grove. Koliopoulos owned the Sherman Restaurant for 30 years before retiring in 2004. Kolipoulos is survived by his wife Marianna (nee Spiropulos); son Gary (Alexandra); daughter Angie (Steve) Edsey; grandchildren Colin and Marianne; brother James (Bessie); sister Antonia (George) Sarantopulos; sister-in-laws Dina (Spiros) Antonopoulos, Georgia (George) Kirakoulis, Soula (Nick) Iliopoulos; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service and burial for Stephen H. Kozak of Des Plaines, 53, were private. Visitation took place Monday at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mr. Kozak was born Apr. 3, 1954 in Chicago. He worked as a facility supervisor for Littelfuse, Inc. in Des Plaines. He died Thursday, Aug. 16 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He is survived by his wife, Patricia nee Pacheco Kozak, children Koreen (Anthony Pizano) Kozak, Eric M. Kozak, and Nicole (Anthony Grembowski) Thomsen, grandson Tyler Grembowski, mother-in-law Irma (the late Robert) Pacheco, sisters Patricia Volk and Lori (Dr. Edward) Newman, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services were held yesterday (Tuesday), Aug. 21, for Arthur P. Maciejewski, of Des Plaines, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation took place on Monday, Aug. 20 at Glueckert Funeral Home. Burial was at all Saints cemetery. Born on January 15, 1921 in Chicago, Maciejewski worked as a machinist for Colombia Tool and Die in Glenview and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Lafayette Council #361 for over 50 years. He died on Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He is preceded in death by his son Michael and his parents Anton and Rose. Mr. Maciejewski is survived by his wife of 66 years Alice nee Chmura, children Barbara (Michael) Kledzik, Carol (Harold) Root, Donna (Al) Russ, Alice (Bill) Haas, Arthur Maciejewski, Susan (Ralph) Meixner, Christy (Kenneth) Schmidt, Timothy (Nadine) Mack Maciejewski; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Interment was at St. Joseph cemetery. Ms. Mayer was born on April 15, 1915. She was a homemaker for her family and wife of the late Michael Mayer. A funeral service for Richard Thomas McKenna, 59, took place Monday, Aug. 20, at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mr. McKenna died on Thursday, Aug. 16, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. He was born May 5, 1948 in Chicago. A lifelong resident of Des Plaines, he was a big Bears football fan. He was also involved in ballroom dancing.

A funeral services for Emma Willett (Westphal), 93, of Niles, was held on Monday, Aug. 20 at Severino's River Woods Funeral Chapels. Visitation was held on Sunday, Aug. 19 at the funeral home. Interment was at Ridgewood cemetery. Born on May 13, 1914 in Roberts County, South Dakota, Willett was a long time resident of Niles and worked at the Teletype Corporation in Skokie until her retirement. She passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007. Willett is survived by her children, Virginia (the late Raymond) West, Mellanie Fowler and Linda (Pepin-Francis (John), two sisters, Lizzetta Buchele and Anna Louise Hanson, three sisters-in-law, Delores Nelson, Gertie Westphal and Idora Westphal, eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin Willett, her parents Gustav and Annie (Driessen), six brothers, Loarf, August, Louis, Albert, John and Rudolph. four sisters, Marie, Louise, her twin sisters Josephine and Esther and grandchildren Johnny and Brandy Pepin.

Chapel prayers and a funeral Mass for Richard L. Bartels of Elk Grove Village, 73, took place at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment at St. Adalbert cemetery in Niles. Mr. Bartels was born in Dundee, Ill. The National Guard Veteran was a 47-year resident of Elk Grove Village. He worked for many years at United Postal Service and as a truck driver for Karps Co. He passed away peacefully at home with his loving family Friday, Aug. 10. Mr. Bartels is preceded in death by his cherished granddaughter Brittany Bartels. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Theresa H. Sobczak, his loving children Jeffrey R. (Karla), Debbie T. Bartels, and Carolyn A.
