Funeral service for Frank J. Zangara of Elk Grove Village, 51, was said Thursday, Sept. 6, at Queen of the Rosary in Elk Grove Village. Entombment at All Saints cemetery. Mr. Zangara was born in Chicago. He passed away peacefully at home with his family. He is preceded in death by his loving father Anthony Zangara and cherished nephew James Blasucci. He is survived by his loving mother, Silia Zangara, dear sisters Donna (Michael) Valentino and Nina (Anthony) Zaremba, and cherished nieces and nephews Gina Acino, Michelle Zareba, Anthony Zaremba, Paul Valentino, and Julianna Zaremba.

A funeral Mass for Frank M. Bugalski, 90, took place Monday, Sept. 24, at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge. Mr. Bugalski was born on Sept. 29, 1916 in Chicago. He died on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Lutheran General Hospital.

A funeral Mass for Antonio V. Campos took place Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Cecilla Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment was at St. Mary cemetery in Evergreen Park. Visitation was on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. His wife Frances Campos, nee Bruederie, preceded Mr. Campos in death. His sons James (Maggie) VonBruchhaeuser, Walter (Anita) Mrozinski, and Antonio Campos Jr.; his grandchildren James (Kim), Bryan, and Elizabeth VonBruchhaeuser and Rebecca Mrozinski; and three great-grandchildren survive him.
ARLETTE CARSTENS
of Des Plaines
Devoted mother and homemaker, Arlette June Carstens (nee Brobst), 80, died on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Lutheran General Hospital. For 59 years, she was the loving wife of Albert J. Carstens who for over 30 years was the varsity baseball and football coach at Maine West High School. Carstens retired in the 1980s after presenting the school with three state championship baseball titles. According to her daughter, Carol, "She loved her children and grandchildren. Over the years, she was in a bowling league and was employed at City Products as a switchboard operator. Her passion was taking care of the flowers in her yard and making sure everything in her home looked just right. She was very organized and put us to shame. She loved dogs and they loved her."
Mrs. Carstens loved paperback book crossword puzzles and was a daily devotional reader of the Bible. Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines was her place of worship. Mrs. Carstens is survived by her children Carol Carstens, Debbie Carstens, Julie (John) Lillquist, Cathy (David) Meyer and grandchildren Michael, Amy (Jesse), Jeffrey, Courtney and Alex. Also, many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Duane Brobst. Visitation was on Friday, Sept. 28 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. She laid in state on Saturday until the time of the funeral service at at Trinity Lutheran. Interment at the Town of Maine cemetery, Park Ridge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

A funeral Mass for Henry J. Duzynski, 88, took place Saturday, Sept. 29, at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment was at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation was Friday, Sept. 28 at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mr. Duzynski died on Sept. 26, 2007. His wives Dorothy, nee Thompson, and Mary, nee Barclay, and siblings Alexander, Casimir, and Cecelia Wargo preceded him in death. His daughters Susan (Thomas) Kolk and Janet Briggs; grandchildren Jessica, Paul, and Stephanie Kolk, Sarah (Joseph) Farley, and Amanda Briggs; and many nieces and nephews survive him.
MARTIN MATTHEW FAHEY, M.D.

Martin Matthew Fahey, M.D., 94, of Glenview, passed away at home Saturday, Sept. 29 following a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on May 13, 1913 in the rural farming community of Fink Creek Road in Lewis County, West Virginia, Martin was raised on the family farm near Weston. After graduating from the University of West Virginia, he went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Chicago (Rush Medical School) and trained in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic. From 1945-1947, he served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He opened a medical practice in 1949 and, in the mid-1950s, joined his brothers and other physicians in establishing the Fahey Medical Center in Des Plaines. He practiced medicine for 45 years, serving at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Holy Family in Des Plaines and Lutheran General and Resurrection hospitals in Park Ridge. During that time, he served terms as chief of staff and chief of surgery at Holy Family and St. Francis hospitals. He retired from practice in 1988 at the age of 75.
"He was a true family man which really stems from his boyhood values, which he carried on in his adult life, " stated his son, Martin Fahey, Jr. "He and mom had nine children. My father made time for his family and was dedicated to his patients. He was an extremely busy, dedicated, professional." There were times when all his father's hard work couldn't save a patient, according to his son. "It drained him sometimes, but he knew not everyone could be saved. My father was a man filled with compassion. A real fighter." He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna (Thompson) and eight children: Sharyn of Wyoming, MN; Barbara of Glen Ellyn; Mary Ellen (Mike) Morrison of Helena, MT; Martin Jr. (Peggy) of Grand Haven, MI; James (Susan) of Glenview; Debralyn of Glenview, Diane (Paul) Alston of Phoenix, AZ; and Dawn Hayes (the late Christopher) of Glenview. Dr. Fahey is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Madonna; a grandson, Kevin, by his parents Thomas and Mary Ellen, of Weston, West Virginia; his brothers and sisters, Patrick, M.D., (the late Nell); Margaret, George (Mildred), John, M.D. (Victoria), Thomas, Mary and Joseph, D.D.S. Visitation was yesterday (Thursday). Funeral from the funeral home today (Friday), Oct. 5, 9:30 a.m. to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Glenview, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment at All Saints cemetery.

A funeral Mass for Dorothy L. Keefe (nee Gallagher), 83, took place Tuesday, Sept. 25, at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Mrs. Keefe was born on Feb. 3, 1924 in Chicago. She died on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Belmont Village in Glenview. She had worked as a social worker for Catholic Charities.

A funeral service for William Klippert Sr., 74, a 30-year resident of Park Ridge, was held Friday, Sept. 28 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery, Skokie. A farmer, avid woodworker who loved hunting and fishing, he died Sept. 23. He worked in the family greenhouse for 44 years. Surviving are his widow, Solveig; children Bill (Linda), and Lisa (Alec) Miller; grandchildren Kelly, Nick, Kristen, and Traci; and siblings Albert Jr. (Bette), Laverne Beckwith, and Kathy (Bill) Stewart. He was preceded in death by brothers Richard and Ron.

A graveside service and interment for Nancy Ruth Martin, nee Goodspeed, 87, formerly of Rolling Meadows, will take place Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights. Visitation will precede the service from 11 a.m. to noon at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Mrs. Martin was born on June 20, 1920 in Joliet. She worked as a checker for Jewel Food Store in Rolling Meadows for more than 30 years. She died at her home on Sept. 30, 2007. Her husband D. Richard preceded her in death. Her children David (Bonnie), John Martin, and Georgia (Thomas) von Schaumburg and her grandchildren Matthew (Ashley), Michael Martin, and William von Schaumburg, survive her.
