Gertrude J. Beiers, 72, of Rolling Meadows died Nov. 16 in Northwest Community Hospital. She was a native of Chicago. Funeral services and interment were private. Widow of the late Robert Beiers, she is survived by a son, Robert E., grandchildren and siblings. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Claudia; and a sister, Mary Johnson.

MARGARET CARNEY
of Des Plaines

A funeral Mass for Margaret "Peggy" M. Carney (nee Lydon), 86, took place Tuesday, Nov. 20, at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Des Plaines. Mrs. Carney died on Friday, Nov. 16. She was born on Feb. 21, 1921 in Castle Bar, County Mayo, Ireland. A longtime resident of Des Plaines, she was active as a minister of care and sacristan at St. Stephens Church.

GERALD A. CASTRO
of Glen Ellyn

A funeral service for Gerald A. Castro, 70, of Glen Ellyn, was held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 9 at Ryan-Parke Funeral Homes. Interment was at All Saints cemetery. Mr. Castro was born on March 22, 1937 in Chicago. He was a retired employee of the General Service Administration. He was a graduate of Loyola University Graduate School and St. Louis University. His wife, Mary Jeanne, is a former resident of Park Ridge. Mr. Castro passed away on Nov. 7, 2007 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Coslmo and Agnes. Mr. Castro is survived by his wife Mary Jeanne, children Elizabeth (Robert) VanSpankeren, Nancy (Dennis) Flanagan, Laura (Patrick) Dingillo and Gerald J., grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Nicholas, Kevin, Glanna, Patrick, Vanessa, Michael and Joseph, siblings Dr. Joseph (Barbara) and Rosemary (Donald) Dohring and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to Home Care Physicians, 1800 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL, 60187.

LYNN HOFBAUER-BAASE
of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Lynn Hofbauer-Baase, 61, took place on Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Des Plaines. Interment was private. Visitation was Friday, Nov. 16, at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. She was born on Oct. 3, 1946 in Chicago. She was a Vista volunteer and very active in her community. She died on Nov. 12, 2007 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Her brother, William Pat Hofbauer, and her father, John Hofbauer, preceded her in death. Her daughter Megan Baase, her stepson Brian (Annette) Baase, her mother Claire Hofbauer, her nephews Brad and Randy Hofbauer and her siblings Doug (Suzanne) and Joyce Hofbauer survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Cancer Society or Rainbow Hospice are appreciated.

JOSEPH LENCIONI
Army Veteran of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Joseph G. Lencioni of Des Plaines, 61, was held Monday, Nov. 19 at St. Mary of the Woods Church. Visitation was held the day before at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment was held at All Saints cemetery. He was born Nov. 15, 1946 in Chicago. He passed away Thursday, Nov. 15 at Decedent's Residence. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was also a certified public accountant. He is survived by his wife, Candace (nee Torello); children, John, Jeanne (Michael) Califf; grandson, Joey Califf; siblings, Richard (Beverly), Anita (Pat) Nugent, Eleanor (Michael) Duax. Mr. Lencioni was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Mary (nee Festa); and sister, Mary Christine.

FRANCES MARTINEK
of Des Plaines

A memorial service for Frances Martinek (nee Cosman), 86, took place on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment was private. Mrs. Martinek was born on Aug. 30, 1921 in Arlington Heights. She worked as a dry cleaning clerk and was very charitable to veteran causes. She died at home on Nov. 12, 2007. Her husband Henry preceded her in death. Her nephews, Wesley and John Martinek, her lifelong friend, Florence Hansen, and her great nieces and nephews survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Rainbow Hospice, 444 N. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge are appreciated.

BETH M. MILLER
Formerly of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Beth "Betty" M. Miller, 89, formerly of Mt. Prospect, was held on Monday, Nov. 19 at Community Presbyterian Church in Mt. Prospect. Visitation was held on Sunday, Nov. 18 at Oehler Funeral Home. Interment was at Memory Gardens. Ms. Miller is preceded in death by husband Roland G. and brothers Richard, Russel, Dale and Harold McElhimey. She is survived by children Patricia Miller, Kathleen (Stephen) Pattengale and Roland (Amy Morton-Miller) Miller. Memorials may be made to the church, the bird division of the Field Museum or the Glenview Education Foundation.

VIRGINIA PATEK
Formerly of Des Plaines

A graveside service for Virginia B. Patek, 93, will take place today (Wednesday), 1 p.m., at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Mrs. Patek died on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Meadowbrook Manor Care Center in Naperville. She was a longtime resident of Des Plaines, moving there in 1957. She was also a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

EDMUND A. POGORZELSKI
Army veteran of Niles

A funeral service for Edmund A. Pogorzelski, 90, of Niles, was held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at St. Juliana Church. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment was at Maryhill cemetery. Mr. Pogorzelski was born on Jan. 26, 1917 in Chicago. He worked a crew leader for Commonwealth Edison for many years and was a veteran of the Army. He died on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 at Condell Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores, parents William and Josephine, grandchild David, sisters Marie and Mildred and brother Chester. Mr. Pogorzelski is survived by his daughters Karen (Dennis) Kelley and Carole (Dennis) Trella, sons Edward (Mary) and Ronald (Eileen), grandchildren Christine and Denise Trella, Daniel and Edward (Jennifer) Pogorzelski, Jason (Breanna) Pogorzelski, George, Christopher, Carolyn, David, Robert (Mandy), William and Brian and Nicole Kelley, great-grandchildren Madeline, Matthew, Logan and Nicole, sisters Eveyln and Irene and brother-in-law Alvin (Barbara) Nicpon.

CARL RECHCYGIEL
of Des Plaines

A memorial service for Carl C. Rechcygiel, 89, will take place today (Wednesday), 3 p.m., at Black Ram Restaurant in Des Plaines. Mr. Rechcygiel died on Monday, Nov. 12. He was born on July 14, 1918 in Chicago. He worked as a photo engraver.

CHARLES F. SCHIPP
of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Charles F. "Fred" Schipp, 71, of Des Plaines, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment will be at All Saints cemetery. Mr. Schipp was born on Aug. 12, 1936 in Evanston. He worked as an inventor, R.C. model plan flyer, M.G. car enthusiast, handyman to his neighbors and perfector of the Shoe Trick. He passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 in Park Ridge. He is preceded in death by his brother Paul (Bonnie). Mr. Schipp is survived by his wife Sandra, son Michael, daughters Kathy (Bill) Hart and Lynne Schipp (Stephen Veach), grandchildren Kailey, Jenna, Alish, Sarah and Kaitlin, siblings Robert (Mary), Joan (Lambert) Schommer, James (the late Anne), Mary (Doug) Creger, Jamie (Steve) Petras and Edward (Mary) and many nieces and nephews.

RUTH WILHELMINE SCHLACHTER
of Des Plaines

A memorial service for Ruth Wilhelmine Schlachter (nee Hennig), 88, took place on Friday, Nov. 16, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Mall presiding. Interment was private. Mrs. Schlachter was born on Mar. 24, 1919 in Chicago. She died on Nov. 11, 2007 at Church Creek Nursing Center in Arlington Heights. Her husband, Harry A., and her brother, Arthur Hennig, preceded her in death. Her children Michael A. (Gerri) Schlachter, Casey T. (Wendy) Schlachter, and Shari Schlachter, her sister Wilma Hennig, and two grandchildren survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, 600 Hoffmann Drive, Watertown, Wisc. Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines made funeral arrangements.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23 at Oehler Funeral Home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens cemetery. Ms. Schleicher was born on May 16, 1922 in Chicago. She passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Heartstone Manor in Woodstock. She is preceded in death by her husband Frederick and son F. Michael. Ms. Schleicher is survived by sons James D. (Sheila) and Gary J. (Sue), grandchildren Gary J., Matthew J. (Jennifer), Kristi B. (James), great-grandchildren mason, Olivia and Gianna, sister Ruth (Richard) Czeszewski and aunt Mayne Sheldon. RITA SIKORSKI

A funeral service for Rita Mae Sikorski of Niles, 82, took place Saturday Nov. 17 at St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles. Visitation was Thursday. Interment at Maryhill cemetery in Niles. Ms. Sikorski worked as a hostess. She was also a Girl Scout leader for 15 years. She died Tuesday, Nov. 13. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Sikorski, and her parents Jerome E. and Flemmie nee Srino Ferra. She is survived by her daughter Elaine Sikorski, her son-in-law Thierry Tritsch, and her granddaughter, Josephine. Funeral arrangements by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home.

WALMA T. THOMPSON
of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Walma T. Thompson, 92, of Des Plaines was held on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 16 at the funeral home. Interment was at Ridgewood cemetery. Ms. Thompson was born on Dec. 13, 1914 in Chicago. She worked as a corporate secretary for an electronics company for many years. She passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Glenbrook Hospital. She is preceded in death by husband, Obert, and parents, Juho and Mathilda H. Martinmaki. Ms. Thompson is survived by her sons Roy (Susan) and John, and grandchildren Kimberly and Kristin. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Association.

RONALD TWOREK
Army veteran of Park Ridge

A funeral Mass for Ronald J. Tworek, 72, took place Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church in Park Ridge. Mr. Tworek died on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at his home in Marco Island, Fla. He shared time between Marco Island, his home in Park Ridge and a childhood summer farm in Crivitz, Wisc. He was born on Oct. 6, 1935. He served in the U.S. Army.

ERNEST WOLF
of Wheeling

A funeral service for Ernest H. Wolf of Wheeling, 81, was held yesterday (Tuesday) at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation was held the day before at Kolssak Funeral Home in Niles. Interment was held at All Saints Mausoleum. He is survived by his children, Ernest Jr. and Lisa (Patrick) Brownfield; siblings, sister, Rita; nieces and nephews, Catherine Wolf, Larry Wolf, Cindy (Ted) Bucki, Mark (Jen) Rodriguez, Vita (Joseph) Angeleri; sister-in-laws, Judy Wolf and Josephine (Alphonse) Rodriguez; brother-in-law, Vincent Scardina; and many great nieces and nephews. Mr. Wolf was preceded in death by his wife, Ann "Lala" (nee Scardina); and sibling, Manfred Wolf.

Interment at Resurrection cemetery. Ms. Zajdel was born on June 11, 1921 in Chicago. She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Kinga, and her dear brother Joseph Zajdel. She was loving aunt to Lenore Zajdel, Joseph, Jr. (MaryLynn) Zajdel and Paul (Julie) Zajdel, and great-aunt to Alexa, Nicole, Justin, Claire, Natalie, Grace and Kyle. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society.

ANN T. BRENNER
of Rolling Meadows

A funeral Mass for Ann T. Brenner, nee Miller, 88, took place Monday, Nov. 12 at St. Colette Church. Interment was at St. Joseph cemetery in River Grove. Visitation was on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Mrs. Brenner was born on April 8, 1919 in Kindi, Mich. She died on Nov. 8, 2007 at Rosewood of Inverness. Her husband George E. and her siblings Elizabeth Kunzer and Adam Miller preceded her in death. Her child Terry, her grandchildren Kurt Brenner, Gwen (Vlad) Garris, Jessica (Bill) Lewis, Rebecca (Mark) Jeossoe, and Erica Thomas, her great-grandchildren Irina Garris, Madison and Rylee Lewis, and Arwen Jeossoe, and her brother Carl (Lorraine) Miller survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Cancer Society are appreciated.

MICHELLE ANN BURBACH
of Palatine

Prayers for Michelle Ann Burbach, 31, will take place on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 9:30 a.m. at Ahlgrim Funeral Home in Palatine proceeding to St. Theresa Catholic Church in Palatine for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Sacred Heart cemetery in Northbrook. Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Miss Burbach was born on Nov. 26, 1975 in Evanston. She died on Nov. 10, 2007. Her parents Gerald S. and Mary Ann Burbach, her sisters Mary (Armando) Berrelez, Melissa and Christine Burbach, and her niece and nephew Veda June and Maddox Rey survive her.
