A funeral service for Virginia "Ginny" Busby (nee Pasternak), 82, will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Interment will be at Memory Gardens cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 4 at the funeral home. Mrs. Busby was born on Dec. 26 in Chicago. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She volunteered in School Dist. 25, visited the Arlington Heights Senior Center, exercised at the Lattof YMCA, and fished for walleye in Canada. She died on Nov. 30, 2007 at her home. Her husband Arthur, her parents Adam and Mary (nee Namislovska Pasternak), her brothers Adolph and Matthew "Mike" Pasternak, her brothers-in-law Joseph Pisowicz and Frank Szerszen, and her sister-in-law Mary Pasternak preceded her in death. Her sons Arthur Jr. (Judy), Jim (Kari), Tom (Stephanie), and John "Jack" (Christine), 11 grandchildren, and her sisters Loretta Pisowicz and Vera Szerszen survive her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Lattof YMCA, 300 E. Northwest Highway, Des Plaines, are appreciated.

A funeral service for James J. Christopher of Mt. Prospect, 80, was held yesterday (Thursday) at Matz Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Visitation was held the day before at the same location. Interment was held at Memory Garden cemetery. He was born on Dec. 7, 1926 in Chicago. He passed away Sunday, Dec. 2 in Arlington Heights. He was an employee at United Airlines, a representative of I.A.M., Dist. 141, Local 1487 and a lifelong White Sox fan. He is survived by his wife, Jeri; children, James (Kathy), Richard (Jacque), Thomas (Debbie), Susan (Harry) Marion, and Nancy; grandchildren, Carrie, Michael, James, Lindsay, Alex, and Alyssa.

His wife Evelyn (nee Lyons), two brothers, and one sister preceded him in death. His children Nancy (late Alan) Binder and Jane (John) O'Brien, his grandchild Jennifer O'Brien, his siblings Margaret (William) Casey, Anne (late Richard) Nyquist, Josephine (Steve) Venci, and Bridget (Pat) O'Mallie, and many nieces and nephews survive him. He was born on Apr. 15, 1948 in Chicago. He passed away Sunday, Dec. 2. He was a member of the Shoot Metal Workers Local 73. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Larson); children, Noel Lynn, Robert, and Theresa; and brother, Jeffrey (Angelica). A visitation and funeral service for Ruth Heinemann of Arlington Hts., 88, took place Monday, Nov. 26, at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Arlington Hts. and a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Hts. She successfully lived the Christian principles she learned while attending St. Peter Lutheran School in Arlington Hts. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1938. She was employed by H.W. Gossard until her retirement. Her greatest joy was selflessly giving of herself to her beloved brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and their children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Wallace, Walter, Wilbert, and Robert, and her sister-in-laws, Anna and Betty Lou. She is survived by her siblings, David Heinemann, Alice (Guy) Eisenhuth, and Louise (Gordon) Prager, her nephews Wilbert (Laureen) Heinemann and Guy (Susan) Eisenhuth, Wayne (Wanda) Eisenhuth, Glenn (Cheryl) Eisenhuth, and Richard (Susan) Eisenhuth, and 13 grand nephews and nieces.

Saloon owner, former Rosemont Cavalier
Funeral services for Dan Ronald Horst, 64, were held, Thursday, Nov. 29 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home in Palatine. Horst owned the Oak Alley Saloon in Palatine and was a member of the Rosemont Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Horst marched with the group and served on their Board of Directors. Horst was born in Providence, RI in 1943 and died on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007. He is survived by his wife Gayle Horst (nee Cummings), son Michael Horst, father Gottried Horst, brother Donald Horst, mother-in-law Virginia Cummings, brothers-in-law; Larry Cummings, Brian (Joanna) Cummings and Scott Cummings. She was a member of the Niles Lioness Club, the Niles Community Church, and the Niles Senior Center. She died at Rush North Shore Hospital on Nov. 26, 2007. Her parents George and Clara (nee Dahl) Reid and her sons Mark and Craig McAndrew preceded her in death. Her husband Russell McAndrew, her daughter Karen (Jim) Murphy, her son Scott (Gail) McAndrew, her grandchildren Patricia and Christine, and her daughter-in-law Patricia McAndrew survive her. REV. LEONARD MEZYDLO

A funeral service for Rev. Leonard T. Mezydlo, 82, will take place tomorrow (Thursday), 10:30 a.m., at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church in Des Plaines. A visitation is taking place today (Wednesday) at the church from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. during the visitation. Rev. Mezydlo, who was Pastor Emeritus at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church, became a priest in 1950. He was a judge of the Met. Tribunal, and he served as pastor at St. Stephen from 1980-1993. He was born on Oct. 25, 1922 in Chicago, and died on Friday, Nov. 30, at Oakton Pavillion Nursing Home. He was survived by his brother Eugene (Frances) Mezydlo and sister Rosemary A. Mezydlo, and preceded in death by sister Grace (late Albin) Lenczycki. He was also uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Jon M. Peterson of Mt. Prospect, 68, was held Saturday, Dec. 1, at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Visitation was held the day before at the same location. He was born on Jan. 10, 1939 in Chicago. He passed away Sunday, Nov. 25 at his home. He was a radio reporter for the U.S. Navy who then worked for AT&T; for 36 years. He was a member of Telephone Pioneers. He was also active in Communication Workers of America, Local 4250/5050, serving as a Union Steward and Vice President. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (nee Dunne); children, Jon M. Jr., Thomas A., and Rachel A.; brother, David T. (Claudette); sister-in-laws, Betty Peterson and Ramona (Bob) Sharp. Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his parents, James O. and Anna; and brother, James O., Jr. Interment was held at Memory Gardens cemetery. Grahm Thomas and Emmitt Charles Van Hyning, newborn twin sons of Chuck and Daneen (Gaffey) Van Hyning, passed into heaven on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, Illinois. He worked for Comdisco in facility maintenance in Wood Dale. He was longtime member of the Meadows Baptist Church. He passed away Saturday, Dec. 1 at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. He is preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. She was born on Oct. 24 1944 and died at Alexian Brothers Medical Center on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007. A resident of Elk Grove Village, Felitto worked as a read estate agent. She is survived by her sons Brent William (Susan) Felitto of Winetka and Raymond Nicholas Felitto; grandchildren Justine, William, and Jarod Felitto and sister Diana Novotny. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia (nee Reichbauer) Novotny and father John William Novotny.

A funeral and mass was held Monday, Dec. 10 beginning at 9 a.m. for Frank Hennessey, 72, of Glenview, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Glenview with internment following at Ascension cemetery in Libertyville. Visitation was held at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge on Sunday, Dec. 9. A World War II veteran, Hennessey, died on Nov. 29, 2007. Hennessey is survived by his wife Donna (nee Gleason) Hennessey, mother-in-law Jewel Gleason, brother-in-law Brian (Linda) Gleason, niece Erin (Alex) and nephews; Groh and Greg (Emily). He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Donald.
