A funeral service for Kathryn A. Ehrhardt (nee Glines), 92, of Des Plaines, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday (Jan. 23) in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 W. Higgins Rd., Schaumburg. Interment will follow in Town of Maine cemetery, Park Ridge. Widow of the late Edward Ehrhardt, she is survived by her son, Michael (Julie); grandchildren Andy, Sean, Matt, Kelsey, Steve (Missy) Ehrhardt, and Sarah (Tom) Link; plus six great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines.

Joseph L. Eterno
Of Niles

A funeral service for Joseph L. Eterno, 86, of Niles, was held Thursday, Jan. 15, at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation took place on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment was at All Saints cemetery. Mr. Eterno was born Nov. 1, 1922 in Chicago. He passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at Lutheran General Hospital. He is survived by daughter Marianne (Michael Murphy), sons Michael (Cheryl) and David (Julie Ballenger), grandchildren Maricarmella, Maria, Anthony, Timothy and Elisabeth. He is preceded in death by wife Artenzia.

Theodore J. Fijalkowski
Of Niles

A funeral service for Theodore J. Fijalkowski, 90, of Niles, was held Saturday, Jan. 17, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Visitation took place prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment was at St. Adalbert Mausoleum. Mr. Fijalkowski was born Dec. 30, 1918 in Chicago. He was an Army veteran of WWII and member of the Theodore Roosevelt Post #4 and the Amvets Victory Post #34. He passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009 at Rainbow Hospice Arc. He is survived by wife Bernice and grandchildren Teddy and Natalie (Patrick) Loechl. He is preceded in death by son Ted (Dorna).

John Patrick Gallagher
Of Schaumburg

A funeral Mass for John Patrick Gallagher, 82, took place Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. Marcellin Church in Schaumburg. Interment was at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation will precede the Mass. Mr. Gallagher was born on Apr. 17, 1926 in Chicago. He died on Jan. 13, 2009 at his home. His wife June preceeded in death. His wife Monica and his children Lawrence and Brian Gallagher and Kim Dara Jones survive him. Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows made funeral arrangements.

James S. Ganley
Of Chicago

A funeral service for James S. Ganley, 89, of Chicago, was held Saturday, Jan. 17, at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation took place Friday, Jan. 16, at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mr. Ganley passed away on Jan. 14, 2009. He is survived by wife Mary, children James J. (Kathleen), Marie, Eileen (Michael Fahey) and John, grandchildren Erin, Kiera, James, Maura and Brid and many nieces and nephews.

Richard J. Gardzelewski
Korean War Army Veteran

Of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Richard J. Gardzelewski, 80, took place Saturday, Jan. 17 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Memorial visitation will be Friday, Jan. 16 at the funeral home. Mr. Gardzelewski was born on Sept. 12, 1928 in Chicago. He died on Jan. 12, 2008 at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. Dolores (nee Graham), his wife of 57 years and his children Dru (Steve) Douglas, Jill (Glenn) Pugh, Richard J. Jr. (Sherrie), Julie Schachtschneider, and Beth (John) Arciszewski survive him.

Helen Ann (Kostas) Halverson
Formerly of Des Plaines

Helen Ann (Kostas) Halverson was born March 4, 1924 in Cushing, Okla­homa to Ada (Copple) and Louis Kostas. She was the older of two chil­dren, hav­ing a younger sister, Mar­ilou (Kostas) Vosburgh. Helen passed away on Jan­uary 16, 2009.
Helen spent her youth in Chicago attending public schools and graduating high school in 1942. The schools at­tended included Schurz High School and VonStueben High School.
Helen married her high school sweetheart, Roger Halverson on July 12, 1943 in Columbia, South Carolina where Roger was stationed be­fore going to Europe during World War II. After the war ended, they settled in Des Plaines, Illinois and raised their family of 6 children. Helen was a partner and secre­tary/treasurer of Halverson Construction Inc. with Roger. They were long time members of Christ Church, United Church of Christ, Des Plaines.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved son David in 1958. Her parents, Louis in 1969 and Ada in 1983, and her husband Roger in 1989. Also pre­ceding her in death was nephew Jacob Vosburgh in 2002 and dear friend Ray Pal­icki in 2008.
After over 40 years in Des Plaines, Helen and Roger relo­cated to Antioch, Illinois and again to Crystal Lake, Illinois in 1987. He­len was the care­taker for Roger during a long struggle with Alzheimer's. He­len was a long time member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Crystal Lake.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Sue Anne Mc­Neil and her husband, Jim of Crystal Lake, Illinois. Son Paul and Andrea of Elgin, Illinois. Son Jon and wife Joann of Crystal Lake, who were primary care­tak­ers of Helen in her later years. Son Mark and wife Jea­nine of Des Plaines, Illi­nois. Foster son Bill Lunsford of Morris, Illi­nois. And very dear family friend, Cindy Palicki, of Northville, Michigan.
Helen is survived by grand­children Michelle (McNeil) Roof of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Kristin (McNeil) Elsner and hus­band Jim of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Dave Halverson and his fiancé Heather and son, Nicholas of Colorado, Katie Halverson of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Casey Halverson and her fiancé Brandon Todd of Palatine, Carly Halverson of Des Plaines, Illinois, Matthew Ohm of California and Jim Ohm of Wheeling, Illinois.
There are also four great grandchildren, Colin Roof, Courtney Roof, Zach El­sner and Nate Elsner.
Helen is also survived by her sister, Marilou (Kostas) Vos­burgh and her hus­band, Dr. Richard Vos­burgh of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and their chil­dren, Steve Vosburgh and wife Julie of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and Peter Vos­burgh and wife AnneMarie of Fer­gus, Ontario, Canada and their son, Matt. Dear friends Suzan, Ed, Don, Fred, Jon Hahnfeldt.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Satur­day, February 21, 2009 at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ.

Roger W. Hill
Formerly of Palatine

A funeral service for Roger W. Hill, 50, formerly of Palatine was held Friday, Jan. 16, at Holy Family Parish in Inverness. Visitation took place on Thursday, Jan. 15, at Ahlgrim Funeral Home. Mr. Hill was born March 31, 1958 in Phoenix, Arizona. He passed away on Sunday, Jan. 11, at his home in Hutsonville, Illinois. Mr. Hill is survived by mother Jane M., wife RoseMarie, daughter Krystle, sisters Pam (Thayer) Davis, Janet Hill, brother Duane (Donna) Hill, father-in-law Joseph Covelli, sister-in-law Felicia (Greg) Jayes, uncle Ron (Susan) Mateja and nephews and nieces Andrea and Kate Davis, Blake, Jacob and Nathan Hill, David, Joseph and Michael Manseau and Alexa, Dominic, Zachary and Mario Jayes. He is preceded in death by father Royce W., mother-in-law Rose Marie Covelli and sisters-in-law Cathy Hanlon and Patti Covelli.

Edward J. Kazmierski

A funeral service for Edward J. Kazmierski, 93, took place Friday, Jan. 9 at St. Cecilia Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment was at St. Adalbert cemetery in Niles. Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 8 at Matz Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Mr. Kazmierski was born on July 5, 1915 in Chicago. He died on Jan. 6, 2009 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights. His wife Alice preceded him in death. His children Norman Kazmierski and Judith (Stephen) Lipinski survive him.

Donald J. Kraemer
Design engineer and 20-year Niles resident

A funeral service for Donald J. Kraemer, 72, of Des Plaines, took place Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. John Brebeuf in Niles. Interment will be private. Visitation was Friday, Jan. 16 at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mr. Kraemer was born on May 19, 1936 in Chicago. He died on Jan. 13, 2009 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. His wife Lola M. (nee Peterson) preceded him in death. His son Ronald W. (Elaine) Kraemer survives him.

Camille M. Kramer
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral Mass for Camille M. Kramer (nee Powalish), 84, took place Monday, Jan. 19 at St. Edna Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Entombment was at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines. Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 18 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Mrs. Kramer was born on Mar. 18, 1924 in Chicago. She died on Jan. 14, 2009 at Church Creek Health Center in Arlington Heights. Louis, her husband of 38 years preceded her in death. Her children Lynn Bouska, Curtis (Laurie), and Linette Kramer survive her.

Mary Jane Larson
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Mary Jane Larson, 87, took place on Saturday, Jan. 10 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Interment was private. Visitation was Friday, Jan. 9 at the funeral home. Mrs. Larson was born on June 21, 1921 in Memphis, Tenn. She died on Jan. 7, 2009 in Arlington Heights. Her husband Carl M. "Mart" Larson and her daughter Deborah (Jeff) Poat survive her.

Samuel J. Mammano

A funeral service for Samuel J. Mammano, 82, of Morton Grove, took place on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Interment was at Maryhill cemetery in Niles. Visitation was Monday, Jan. 19 at the funeral home. Mr. Mammano was born on Apr. 23, 1926. He died on Jan. 16, 2009 at Bethany Terrace Nursing Home.

Dorothy M. Miller
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Dorothy M. Miller was held Wednesday, Jan. 21, at St. Edna Catholic Church. Visitation took place Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Glueckert Funeral Home. Mrs. Miller was born March 22, 1939 in Chicago. She passed away on Jan. 16, 2009 at Northwest Community Hospital. She is survived by husband Marvin, children Gregory (Cynthia) Miller, Paul Miller and Susan (James Cannon) Miller, grandchildren Alison and Michael Miller, siblings Barbara (late Gerard) Brunner and Walter (Amy) Peldiak, sister-in-law Carol (Steve) Rodabaugh, brother-in-law Glen (Joyce) Miller and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents Walter and Mary Peldiak.

Beverly J. Moravcik
Of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Beverly J. Moravcik (nee Damler), 73, took place Monday, Jan. 12 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Park Ridge. Interment was at Mt. Emblem cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 11 at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mrs. Moravcik died on Jan. 6, 2009. Her husband Martin and her children Katherine (Craig) Shever and Beverly Ann Moravcik survive her.

Frances M. Nied

Visitation was Friday, Jan. 16 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Mrs. Nied was born on Nov. 5, 1909. She died on Jan. 14, 2009 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Her husband Felix Nied and her son Daniel Nied preceded her in death. Her daughters Alice (Ronald) Lorenzo and Gloria (Frank) Morvay survive her.

Edward Jack Parsons

A funeral service for Edward Jack Parsons, 83, took place Thursday, Jan. 8 at St. Benedict Home. Interment was at Mt. Carmel cemetery. Visitation preceded the service. Mr. Parsons was born on Oct. 25, 1925 in Chicago. He died on Jan. 5, 2009 at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago.

A funeral service for Sam Pistone, 78 took place Monday, Jan. 19 at St. Emily Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment was at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 18 at Kolssak Funeral Home in Wheeling. Mr. Pistone was born on Jan. 6, 1931 in Chicago. He died on Jan. 14, 2009. Patricia (nee Clifford), his wife of 51 years and his children Peter (Michele) Pistone, Terri (Gary) Schroeder, Rose (Jim) Breitzman, Gina (Matt) Borneman, and Angela (Dave) Eddy survive him.
