She was a 55-year resident of Des Plaines, and a a member of the Des Plaines Lodge of Ladies of the Elks. She is survived by children, Dennis (Marge) LaSota, Stanley (Dorothy) LaSota Jr. and Diane (George) Hegner; grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of two. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley LaSota, Sr. Entombment will be held at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Hillsdale. In lieu of contributions can be made to Rainbow Hospice.

Interment was at Maryhill cemetery. Ms. Majewski was born Sept. 17, 1911 in Chicago. She worked as a secretary for a pharmaceutical company for many years. She passed away on Thursday, Mar. 13, at the Winchester House. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J., and parents, Joseph and Louise Kosinski. Ms. Majewski is survived by daughters Cynthia (Ron) Ways and Sharon (Zig) Zudyk, son Bernard, grandchildren Lisa (Steve) Zarnow, Scott Matthews, Michael Ways, Leslie (Jeff) Van De Velde, James (Julie) Ways, Teresa Majewski and Tom Majewski and nine great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John R.; children, Diane (Adrian) Steinberg and John J. (Pamela); grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kathryn, and Jennifer Steinberg, and Stephanie and Abigail Malek; step-grandson, Richard Simon; aunts, Geneieve Macior and Charlotte Wazniak; and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by siblings, Ann (Allan) Reisner; Bob (Esther Brodsky). He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille. Interment will be held in Delphos, Ohio.

Interment was at All Saints cemetery. Mr. Nowicki was born Oct. 14. 1918 in Chicago. He was a veteran and was an self-employed artist. He passed away on Tuesday, Mar. 11, 2008 in his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Helen, and son John. Mr. Nowicki is survived by wife Lucy, daughters Lucy Alice Flemming and Mary H. (James) Bradley, son Francis J. (Linn) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held for Florence A. Potrue at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Friday, Mar. 14 and St. Juliana Church with interment following at Maryhill cemetery. Potrue, a homemaker, was born on Feb. 8, 1918 in Chicago. She died on Sunday, Mar. 9, 2008 at the Rush North Shore Hospital. Potrue is survived by her sons, Ken (Cindy) Potrue and Ron (Sandi) Potrue, sisters Ester (Walter) Yorkman and Leona (Eugene) Pedersen. She was also an aunt to many. She was preceded in death by her father, William Machnikowski, mother Mae (nee Marshal) Machnikowski, husband Fred Potrue, and son Robert (Dorathy) Potrue.

A funeral Mass for Catherine Julia Provost (nee Ryan), 89, took place on Monday, Mar. 17 at St. Alphonsus Church in Prospect Heights. Interment was at St. Peter cemetery in Skokie. Mrs. Provost was born on June 11, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisc. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy and Marquette University. At each reunion, she won a prize for having produced the most children. She was a USO director, a devout Roman Catholic, and had a lifelong devotion to the Blessed Mother. Her parents, Edward and Leontine Mansur Ryan and her siblings Elizabeth and William Ryan preceded her in death. Her husband of 62 years, Leo H. She was born on Oct. 30, 1922 in Poland. She passed away Thursday, Mar. 13 at Brighton Gardens in Hoffman Estates. She loved to cook and garden. She was also a member of the Mt. Prospect Senior Center and St. Raymond's knitting group and Ministers of Praise. She is survived by her children, Christine Bartha and Karl (Judy); grandchildren, Kelly and Jaimee Bartha, Anna, Kristi and Jonathan Resele; siblings, Maria and Elizabeth; and daughter-in-law, Bela Bartha. A funeral service for Robert F. Braschko, 77, will take place today (Wednesday), Mar. 26, at 11 a.m. at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery in Barrington. Visitation will precede the funeral beginning at 9 a.m. Mr. Braschko was born on Feb. 22, 1931 in Chicago. He graduated Taft High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War then worked for Centel in Des Plaines for 19 years. He died on Mar. 19, 2008 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights. His wife Karen (nee Biermann); his children Kimberly (Mark) Hoelterhoff and Robert F. Braschko Jr.; his grandchildren Devin, Kylie, and Maja Hoelterhoff; his siblings David (Jan) Braschko and Susan (Jim) O'Neil; and many nieces and nephews survive him.
