James M. Eadie, 88, a prominent dog breeder and trainer and Park Ridge resident, died Apr. 19. Funeral services were private, with arrangements by Cooney Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice or the Japanese Chin Club Dog Rescue, 1114 12th St., #205, Santa Monica, CA 90403, or the English Springer Spaniel Rescue, 2721 Walker Lee, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. He was a World War II Purple Heart veteran, past commander of the Oak Park Amvets and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was a graduate of the Illinois Technical Institute and worked in the insurance industry. He was an American Kennel Club TDX judge and a breeder of top winning dogs, many with multiple titles in the U.S. and Canada. He recently began involvement in search and rescue of dogs and was a member of the Japanese Chin Club and active in the Rand Park Dog Training Club of Des Plaines. Surviving are his widow, Irene; and nieces and nephews Sandy Donnelly, Virginia Gelling, Maryann Duboy, Jane Sielken and Robert Selby.
Rowland Ecker

A funeral service for Rowland Conley Ecker, 72, was held Friday, Apr. 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Ben Bergren presiding. Visitation took place Thursday, Apr. 24 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Interment will be at Memory Gardens cemetery. Mr. Ecker was born Oct. 30, 1935 in Collinsville, Ill. He was a retired teacher, teaching five years at Webster Jr. High in Collinsville and then 33 years at Maine Township High School. He was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church for 40 years. He passed away on Sunday, Apr. 20, 2008 at Northwest Community Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Charlotte. Mr. Ecker is survived by wife Patricia, children Linda (Lee) Mehlhop and Sandy (Steve) Challgren, grandchildren Elizabeth Mehlhop and Charlotte and Rebekah Challgren, brother Lowell Ecker and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association or Trinity Lutheran Church.

A memorial service for Donald Roy Franke, 79, a former long-time elementary school teacher in Park Ridge, will be held in the area in July, his family said last week. Roy died Apr. 6 in his Florida home with his family by his side. Final arrangements are being made by Affinity Direct Cremation Service, Brandon, Florida. Franke was an assistant principal and principal at two former and three present schools in Park Ridge-Niles School District 64 for 24 years before his retirement in 1988. He served Lincoln Middle School, the former Merrill and Madison schools, and Jefferson and Franklin schools. Surviving are his children, Dale, Steve (Janet) of Des Plaines, and Nancy (Jeff) Wietholter; and five grand-daughters, Jenna, Cara, Megan, Kelly and Melissa. Ms. Frawley was born Aug. 12, 1961 in Davenport, Iowa. She passed away suddenly Apr. 18 in Orlando, Florida, where she was attending a McDonalds Corp. Worldwide Convention, where she was employed as the director of Global Marketing. She is survived by daughter Mary Clara Frawley, siblings Colleen (J.F.) She worked at Elgin State Mental Health Care in Elgin for more than six years as a technician. She died on Apr. 17, 2008. Her sister Heather Hofmann preceded her in death. A funeral mass for Ferdinand F. (Fred) Malinowski, 65, a 31-year resident of Elk Grove Village, was celebrated Apr. 22 in St. Julian Eymard Church. Burial followed in St. Michael cemetery. He was a retired 20-year police officer in Elk Grove Village, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and was a retired 22-year staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Surviving are his widow, Christine M. (nee Wajler), children Lynn M. (Michael) Burks, Beth A. (Richard) Kane, and Fredrick L. (Idalia); a brother James M. A funeral service for Leonard "Tom" McCue, 70, of Mt. Prospect was held Thursday, May 1, at St. Raymond de Penafort Church. Visitation took place Wednesday at Friedrichs Funeral Home. Interment was at St. Michael the Archangel cemetery in Palatine. Mr. McCue was born Sept. 13, 1937 in Chicago. He was an Army veteran stationed in Europe and the retired president of Repco Associates in Elmhurst. He was president and a member of the board of directors of ASPE and ASSE and Northwest Side Plumbers Club, as well as a member of the Plumbers Union Local 130. He was a member of the St. Raymond's Bowling League as well. He passed away on Sunday, Apr. 27, 2008 at ManorCare in Northbrook.

More Than 50 Years In the Priesthood
Rev. Joseph McGinnity, 77, of Palos Park died Friday, Apr. 18 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Rev. McGinnity was born Oct. 1, 1930 in Chicago. He served the parishioners at St. Linus, St. Hilary, Queen of Martyrs and St. Gerald parishes and was a dedicated pastor of St. Zachary Parish in Des Plaines for 20 years. He also served Our Lady of the Ridge and Our Lady of the Woods parishes. Father McGinnity was a teacher and counselor to students at Brother Rice, Good Councel and Mother McCauley high schools. He was a 2005 recipient, along with his brother, Fr. Bob, of the Joseph Cardinal Bernardin In Service of One Another Award from Mundelein Seminary. Rev. McGinnity also served as chaplain of the Des Plaines Police Dept. from 1997-2002. He resided in the Bishop Lyne Residence in Palos Park. He is preceded in death by his parents Peter H. and Marie C. McGinnity, brother William J. McGinnity, sister, Marie (Frank) Morrissey. Rev. McGinnity is survived by his brother, Rev. Robert F. McGinnity; niece Mary (Gregory) Kwazny, nephew Frank (Melanie) Morrissey; three great nephews, Frank, Jack and Joey Morrissey and great niece, Sarah Kwazny. Visitation was Monday, Apr. 21st at Sacred Hearts Parish in Palos Hills and Mass of the Resurrection was on the same day at Sacred Hearts. Tuesday, Apr. 22 was visitation at St. Zachary Church in Des Plaines. On Wednesday, Apr. 23 Mass of the Resurrection at noon was celebrated by Cardinal Francis George. Interment was at St. Mary Star of the Sea in Long Boat Key, Florida. Ms. Molloy was born Jan. 13, 1909 in Madison, N.J. She worked as an office manager at Detex Corp. for many years and retired to Sarasota, Florida with her husband Ed in the early O70s before returning to the Chicago area in 2000. She passed away on Sunday, Apr. 20, 2008 at Nazarethville in Des Plaines. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ed. Ms. Molloy is survived by children Edward Jr. (Frann), Mary Jean (Bob) Jarosz and Anne (Duane) Murner, 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She worked as a computer analyst and was a talented crafter specializing in knitting and crocheting. She was a Miss Photoflash contestant, but could not pursue a modeling career due to health issues. She died on Apr. 21, 2008. Her husband Arthur, her mother Shirley Stevenson (late George Stevenson), her siblings Janice (Ernest) Swirles, Joan (late Dayle) Lites, Gary (Gail) Stevenson, and the late David (Sue) Stevenson, her parents-in-law Donald and Marry Stelling, her siblings-in-law Don Stelling, Terry Peterson, and Cary Stelling, many nieces and nephews, and her pets Marco and Shadow survive her.

Robert Strobel
World War II Veteran Of Prospect Heights
A memorial visitation for Robert Strobel, of Prospect Heights, was held yesterday (Tuesday, Apr. 29) at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Interment was private. Mr. Strobel was born June 7, 1927 in Marion, Ohio. He served in the Navy during WWII and then attended Ohio State University, where he also played football. In 1966 he founded Prospect Airport Services and built it into a national airline services company now employing over 4, 000 people. He and his wife also founded the Robert and Mary Strobel Scholarship Fund, which offers financial aid to employees wishing to further their education. He passed away on Apr. 26, 2008 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. He is preceded in death by his parents James Richard and Helen. Mr. Strobel is survived by wife Mary, children Vicki (Doug Glover) Strobel, Marcia (Ernie) Williams, Michael (Veronica) Strobel, Robert Jr. (Shala) Strobel, Nancy (Jim) Jones, King (Aneta) Strobel and Patti (Earnie) Bailey, grandchildren Michael, Daniel, Becky, B.J., Nicole, Melissa, Barbara, Mary Beth, Sarah, Adam, Valarie, Robert, Christine, John and Jamie, great-grandchildren Raina, Gavin and Kairi, brother David (Delores) Strobel and his dog Molly.
