A funeral service for Meryle D. Sadler, 76, of Rolling Meadows will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 29 at Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation will take place Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Mr. Sadler was born on Feb. 24, 1931 in Columbus, Kansas. He worked as a pipe fitter for many years and was a member of Pipe Fitters Local 501. He died on Mar. 24, 2007 at his home. Mr. Sadler is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, daughter Christine Abbate and brother Marvin Sadler. He is survived by his children Mark (Blanca) and Susan (Wue) Cho, grandchildren, and brothers.

Funeral services for Sylvia C. Schreiman, 87, of Des Plaines took place Friday at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. Thecla Church. Interment at St. Adalbert cemetery. Ms. Schreiman was born Feb. 17, 1920 in Chicago. The medical stenographer passed away at her home on Tuesday, Mar. 20. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Joseph and Anne nee Wozniak Schreiman. A funeral service for Earl K. Stigger of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Arlington Heights, 86, was held Saturday, Mar. 17 at Memory Gardens cemetery. Mr. Stigger was born on June 12, 1920. He died Mar. 11. He resided in Arlington Heights from 1957-1976 and was active in Lions International and presided over the Arlington Heights Club from 1974-1975. He is survived by his wife Vallare; children Carol, Bob and Alice; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; step-sons Greg, David and Chris Rupp and their five children. Mr. Stigger was preceded in death by his brother Clifford and sister Dorothy Craft.

A funeral service for James S. Wenle, 91, took place on Monday, Mar. 19, at the Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mr. Wenle was born on Oct. 14, 1915, in Rochelle, Illinois. He died on Friday, Mar. 16, at Lee Manor in Des Plaines. For 70 years, Mr. Wenle was a musician. He was member of the American Professional Orchestra Leaders and Chicago Federation of Musicians. During World War II, as a member of Special Services, he met Bob Hope, Barbara Eden and other entertainers. He was also owner of Wenle Landscaping in Des Plaines and Addison for 45 years. Mr. Wenle was survived by his wife Francis Wenle, children Kathleen and Kimberly (Willard) Seib, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Alfred Smith.

A funeral service for La Vergne L. "Bernie" Angsten of Des Plaines, formerly of Park Ridge, 91, was held Friday Mar. 9 at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home. Visitation took place the day before. Mrs. Angsten was born in Chicago on Dec. 27, 1915. She died Saturday, Mar. 3. She was a member of Lodge 979 Order of Eastern Star where she was a former secretary. She was also a member of the Park Ridge Fire Department Womens Auxillary. She is survived in death by her children Allen (Elaine) and Linnea (Jerry) Qualter, grandchildren Cheryl (Bob) Bacigalupo and Lori (Tony) Madl, six great grandchildren and cousins George Nelson and Audrey Ensor. Mrs. Benway was born on Mar. 31, 1942 in the Phillippines. She died Monday, Mar. 12 at Manor Care of Arlington Heights. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Northwest Community Hospital for over 15 years. She is survived by her husband Ralph, children Ralph B (Darlene), John S. (Beverley) and Dan J. (Karen), eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, siblings Corazon Primo, Adoracion Hagong, Rita Alvero, Agnes Gomez, Lucita Gomez-Ford, Jose, Virgilio and Juanito Gomez. Mrs. Benway was preceded in death by her father Engracion and mother Adoracion Gomez. Interment will be held at All Saints cemetery. He had worked as a sheet metal worker for Cleats Manufacturing for over 45 years. He is survived by his wife Shirley (nee Scarlate), children Denise Lazar, Heather, Melissa and Richard, grandchildren Angelina, Andrew and Marissa Lazar, siblings Janice (Peter) Infelise and Paula Maher. Mr. Dettloff was preceded in death by his sister Darlene.

He died on Saturday, Mar. 18, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He worked as a computer programmer for many years, and loved to travel, especially to Disney World. Mrs. Guzak provided service to her community and her parish, St. Edna Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, a Minister of Care and a Bereavement Minister. She was also a founding member of the Berkley Square Bridge Club. She is survived by her husband John, children John Michael (Kathy), James Robert (Colleen, Mary Eileen (Jim) Rickert, Jeffrey Patrick (Kelly) and Patricia Marie (Paul) Seiden, grandchildren John Ryan, Kristen, Maggie, Ashley, James.
