A funeral service for Marion A. Sroka of Chicago, 89, was held Saturday Mar. 10, 10 a.m. at St. Thecla Church. Visitation was held the day before. Mr. Sroka was born in Chicago on July 24, 1917. He died Wednesday Mar. 7, at Loyola Medical Hospital in Maywood. Mr. Sroka was a World War II vet, a member of Norwood Zurek Amvets Post 36 and St. Thecla Leisure Club. He is survived in death by his wife Janina (nee Migon), children Robert (Linda), Joan (Charles) Blanchard and Stanley (Carmen), grandfather of seven and great grandfather of six. Interment took place at St. Adalbert. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Rainbow Hospice or Cancer Research are appreciated.

A funeral service for Mary Ann Strebler (nee Bacon), 80, took place on Thursday, Mar. 8, at Meadows Funeral Home. Ms. Strebler was born on Mar. 14, 1926. She died on Sunday, Mar. 4, at Manor Care in Arlington Heights. She had worked at the Rolling Meadows Library for over 40 years, and after retiring she returned to volunteering there twice a week in the technical service department. She served as the first bookkeeper and business manager on the first library board. Ms. Strebler was survived by her husband John, children Robert (Ann) and Kenneth Strebler, and grandchildren Graham, Jonathan, Noah and Kelsey. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Congregational United Church of Christ are appreciated.

A funeral service for Lorrayne Tyler (nee Hansen), 79, was held Wednesday at St. Colette Church. Mrs. Tyler was born in Chicago on June 12, 1927. She died Saturday, Mar. 3 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. She is survived in death by her husband Donald G., children Donna (Gerard) Slania and Cathy (James) Leschman, grandchildren David, Daniel and Christopher Slania and Donald and Lisa Leschman.

A funeral service for Katherine Ulrich, 85, of Elk Grove Village, took place Saturday Mar. 10, at Oehler Funeral Home Des Plaines Chapel. Mrs. Ulrich was born Mar. 13, 1921 in Liebling, Romania. She died Monday, Mar. 5. Formerly of Des Plaines, she immigrated with her family to the United States when she was eight months old. She graduated from Lakeview High School. She was a member of the Lieblinger German Club and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicago. She also was a member of the North, Ladies Auxiliary at Luther High School. She is survived in death by her children Barbara K., John M. (Carin) and William M. (Kathy), grandchildren Laura (Chris) Mikolajczewski, Lisa Bania, Lynda (Michael) Griffin, Debbie Bania, Kim, Maggie, Elizabeth (Joseph) Robinson, John II, Matthew, Catlin and Max, great grandchildren James, Justin, Amber, Katie, Kelsey and Ethan, sister-in-law Elizabeth (Joseph) Kunst. Mrs. Ulrich was preceded in death by her husband John "Hans". Interment will be held at Irving Park cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to charity of choice is appreciated.

A funeral service for Steven Vaughn of Wheeling, 17, was held Thursday, Mar. 8 at Severino's River Woods Funeral Chapels. Mr. Vaughn was born on June 4, 1989. He died on Saturday, Mar. 3 at his home. He was a student at Kirk School in Palatine. He was also a Special Olympics athlete who won numerous metals and competed in state contests. He is survived by his parents Steven V. and Deborah L. (nee Smith), sister Katie, uncles Robert Smith and Stanley Vaughn, cousin Ed, Jenny and Katie. Entombment took place at All Saints cemetery.

A funeral service for Bill Weber of Glenview, 77, was held Sunday, Mar. 4, at St. Phillip Lutheran Church in Glenview. Mr. Weber died at his home Thursday, Mar. 1. Mr. Weber worked for 30 years with the Prudential Insurance Company as an agent earning his Charter Life Underwriter's degree. He was a graduate of Monmouth College and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife Diana, children Peter and Jeffrey (Lisa), grandchildren Kaitlyn, Joseph and Nicholas. The interment was held at Acacia Park cemetery. Richard H. Becker, formerly of Des Plaines, died in his home Wednesday, Feb. 28. He was 75. Funeral services were held Saturday, Mar. 3 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Visitation was held the day before at the funeral home. Becker was born May, 20, 1931 in Chicago to the late Henry and Lolita Becker. He worked for Illinois Tool Works, Fastex Division, for over 33 years. He is survived by his wife Nancy A. nee Burke who he married
in 1952; children Diane France and Michael R. Becker; grandchild Tiffany France; sisters-in-law Joyce (late Errol) Brown, Patricia (George) Pradel, Mary (Tom) Barbera, and brother-in-law Ted (late Shirley) Taillon. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law Raymond (late Sheila) Burke. Internment will be at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights.

He worked as a lumber truck driver. Mr. Bremer was survived by his children June (late Rudy) Behnke and Robert (Maudie), sister Alice (Leonard) Bengston, and cherished friend Al Kroll. Ms. Cesarotti was born on June 26, 1920 in Chicago. She died at Resurrection Medical Center Monday, Feb. 26. Ms. Cesarotti worked as an office administrator for Crain Packing. A funeral mass for Dolores M. Cuttle, 83, a long-time Rolling Meadows resident, was celebrated Wednesday in Our Lady of the Wayside Church, Arlington Hts. for 61 years before his death. She died Friday, Mar. 2 at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. She worked as a nurse at several hospitals over the years. She is survived in death by her children Patricia L. Juza and Linda L. Patricia Gale McBrien, formerly of Des Plaines, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Mar. 2 at her home in Minnesota. She was 50. Visitation was held in Minnesota today (Friday) at Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield, Minnesota. McBrien was born September 26, 1956 in Chicago. She was raised in Des Plaines and graduated from Maine East High School in 1975. She went on to radiology school and later worked in the medical field before deciding to switch to banking with TCF Bank, which eventually transferred her to Richfield, Minnesota. McBrien later made another career change and founded her business "never Home alone Pet Sitting, " and later founded "Southpaws Canine Academy." In 2003 she became a certified veterinary technician. McBrien is survived by her husband Jerol; brother David (Michelle) Gale; brothers-in-law James (Brenda) McBrien and Charles McBrien; sister-in-law Karen (Dennis); and nephew Kyle. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Jane (Brisher) Gale. Internment will be in St. Charles, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any humane society.
