A funeral service for William J. Barnes, 73, of Palatine was held on Monday, Jan. 29 at St. James Church. Visitation was held on Sunday, Jan. 28 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Interment was at All Saints Polish National cemetery in Chicago. Mr. Barnes was born on June 6, 1930 in Cleveland, OH. He died on Jan. 24, 2007 in Palatine. Mr. Barnes is preceded in death by his wife Carol, his parents William J. and Margaret, brother Richard Barnes and brother-in-law Gustave Lamesch. He is survived by his children William J. (Marcia) Barnes III, Jane (Robert) Walsh, Patricia (Scott) Kane and James (Laura) Barnes, step-daughter Lisa (T.J.) Thiltgen, grandchildren Dan, Sean, Caitlin, Cariann, Megan, Tom, K.J., Jake, Haley and Tommy, sisters Margaret (Robert) Kozurek and Mary Lameshch and sister-in-law Mary Barnes. MICHAEL E. CALLAGHAN
of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Michael E. Callaghan, 66, of Elk Grove Village was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Interment will be private. Mr. Callaghan was born in Weston Super Mare, England. He was a retired 29-year employee of Duo-Fast Corp. of Franklin Park and was recently employed as by ADP of Elk Grove for six years. He died on Jan. 24, 2007 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Lillie. Mr. Callaghan is survived by his wife Marlene A. and children Brendan M. and Kristin A. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Christus Victor Lutheran Church.

SHIRLEY M. CAMPBELL
of Niles

A funeral service for Shirley M. Campbell, 77, of Niles took place Wednesday, Jan. 31 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at Mt. Emblam cemetery. Ms. Campbell was born April 5, 1929 in Brookfield, Ill. She worked as secretary for the Cook County Circuit Court, Criminal Division. She passed away Thursday, Jan. 25. She is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret (nee Patello) Stuenkel and Ernest C. Stuenkel. She is survived by her husband, Donald Campbell, her children Bonnie (Dennis) Schambach and Charles Campbell, her grandchildren Bruce, Heather, Rhana, and Evan, and her great grandson Michael.

HERBERT CHURCH
of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Herbert S. Church, 86, was held Thursday, Feb. 1, 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Arlington Heights. Mr. Church was born on July 24, 1920 in Farmingham, Massachusetts. He died on Sunday, Jan. 28, at his home. He worked as the vice-president and general manager of Turner Construction's Chicago territory, retiring in 1985. He was instrumental in the remodeling of the Horizon Child Center in April of 1997. He was also the director of the Builders Association of Chicago, and belonged to many other clubs and organizations as well. Mr. Church was survived by his wife Carol (nee Orzech), children Carolyn (John) Fahey, David (Chary), Kathryn (late James) Jur, Virginia (Thomas O'Mara) Church and Trish (Vernon) Church-Podlasek. He was also survived by 15 grandchildren, and his brother Marion Nielsen. He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara (Frank) Strange. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.

LOIS EKLIND
of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Lori Marilyn Eklind, 77, of Park Ridge since 1964, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at South Park Church in Park Ridge. Visitation Tuesday. Private interment at Ridgewood cemetery in Des Plaines. Lois was born Sept. 30, 1929 in Chicago. She was an accomplished pianist and musician. She played for numerous churches and for the King's Couriers. She married Howard Eklind on Feb. 11, 1956. They have been members of South Park Church for 50 years, where she volunteered in many ways including participating in the Women's Missionary Society, Pioneer Girls, World Day of Prayer, the Pre-High group and playing the piano. She was known as a gracious hostess and a talented decorator. She hosted students from International Students ministry in her home on many occasions. Lois and Howard have been known for their generosity to many organizations and ministries. She passed away Monday, Jan. 29 at the Moorings in Arlington Hts. after a battle with cancer. Lois is survived by her husband, Howard Eklind, and her two daughters, Karen J. Eklind and Janet L. Eklind. Memorials may be directed to India Rural Evangelical Fellowship, P.O. PATRICIA M. GRAPENTHIN
of Palatine

A funeral service for Patricia M. Grapenthin, 64, of Palatine, was held private. Ms. Grapenthin was born on Aug. 10, 1942 in Chicago. She enjoyed decorating and sculpting. She died on Feb. 1, 2007. She is preceded in death by her siblings Roger Grapenthin and Phyllis (Bob) Little. Ms. Grapenthin is survived by her husband Dennis, children Kurt (Jenny) and Brett (Karen), grandchildren Jessica, Karly, Justin and Jason, brother Thomas (Sandy) Cahill, brother-in-law Larry (Maureen), and mother-in-law Anne (the late George) Grapenthin. KENNETH R. HARRIS
of Niles

A funeral service for Kenneth Richard Harris, 86, of Niles, took place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Visitation was from 3 to 9 p.m. at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment will be at Eden Memorial Park. Mr. Harris was born on Dec. 6, 1920 in Gillespie, Ill. He worked as a salesman at a confectionery and was a former Mended Hearts volunteer at Lutheran General Hospital. He was also a veteran. He died on Jan. 30, 2007 at St. Matthew Center for Health. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Josephine, wife Eleanor, son Craig and sisters Maguerite, Edith and Josephine. Mr. Harris is survived by his daughter Lynne (Ken) Kalberg, grandchildren Christopher (Kim) Zito, Jefferey Zito and Andrew Zito, brother William, and many nieces and nephews.

GERTRUDE HINZ
Lifelong resident of Arlington Heights

Funeral services for Gertrude Hinz 93, were held Monday, Feb. 5 at Lutheran Home & Service for the Aged in Arlington Heights. Visitation was Sunday at the Lutheran Home. Hinz died Wednesday, Jan. 31. She was born in Arlington Heights on February 21, 1913 to Edward and Bertha (nee Brockmann) Hinz. She was a lifelong resident of Arlington Heights and a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. She is survived by many cousins and friends. Internment was at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Peter Lutheran Church Radio Broadcast Fun, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights, 60004.

KAREN JANIS
of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Karen K. Janis (nee Kenar), 64, was held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 11 a.m., at the Grove Memorial Chapel. She died on Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Seasons Hospice in Chicago. For eight years, Ms. Janis worked for an ADP Dealer Services of Hoffman Estates. She was survived by her husband Erv Janis, children Jennifer and Janine Janis, and Jolene (Lino) Checchin, and grandchildren Samantha, Adam and Nicholas. Ms. Janis was preceded in death by her mother Ethel (Hank) Wojak (nee Warren), father Edward Kenar, and son Jeffrey Janis.

ROBERT A. MINUTILLO
of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Robert A. Minutillo, 76, took place on Thursday, Feb. 1, at St. Colette Church. Interment will be at St. Michael cemetery in Palatine. Visitation was at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Mr. Minutillo was born on Nov. 24, 1930 in Chicago. He was a freight salesman for PIE Freight Company for more than 30 years. He died in his daughter's home with his family around him on Monday, Jan. 27, 2007. His brothers Harry and Lawrence Minutillo preceded him in death. His wife Marie nee Bailey; his children Lawrence (Bonnie), Sandra (Steven) Nabazas, Barbara (John) Wielosinski, Cathy (John) Garbosa, Robert (Patricia) and Joseph (Carolyn) Minutillo; his 11 grandchildren; and his 5 great-grandchildren survive him.

PATRICIA MULDOON
of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Patricia Joyce Muldoon (nee Higgins), 72, is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 7, 10 a.m., at the St. Colette Church. Ms. Muldoon was born on March 27, 1934 in Chicago. She died on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. She was adopted from St. Vincent's Orphanage by John and Rose Higgins of Chicago. In her younger years, she would go on to be President of the ST. Colette's Women's Club. She also worked for many years as a loan officer. Ms. Muldoon was survived in death by her husband Thomas, children Martha (Frank) Guerrero, Noreen (John) Huffman, Sheila (Michael) Sydorowicz, Tim (Claudia), Kathleen Wilson and Robert (Jennifer) Muldoon. She was also survived by nine grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Colette Church are appreciated.

WILLIAM POWELL
of Glenview Served in WWII

Funeral services for William Powell, 83, were held Thursday, Jan. 25 at St. Isaac Jogues Church in Niles. Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 24 at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Niles. Powell was born in Chicago on Sept. 15, 1923. He worked as a structural engineer for an engineering company and served in the navy during World War II. He died at Abington of Glenview nursing and rehabilitation facility on Monday, Jan. 22. Powell is survived by his wife Ruth nee O'Neill; daughter Rita Marie; siblings Rita (late William) Donlon and Rev. John J. Powell. Internment will be at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colombiere Center, 9075 Big Lake Rd., Clarkston, Michigan, 48347.

JOAN MARIE ROSS
of Niles

Funeral services for Joan Marie Ross, 67, were held Saturday, Feb. 3, at Our Lady of Ransom Church in Niles. Visitation was Friday, Feb. 2 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Ross died Wednesday, Jan. 31 at Lutheran General Hospital. She was born on April 25, 1939 in Chicago. She worked as a school teacher at St. Isaac Joguez in Niles. She is survived by her siblings Robert (Paula) Ross, Sandra (George) O'Connor, nieces Julie (Ralph DiBenedetto, Janet (William) Prince and Laura (Bret) Cassata; nephew James O'Connor; great nieces Alyssa, Jaclyn, Rebecca and Nikki; and great nephews Jim, Tom and Justin. Internment will be at Maryhill cemetery in Niles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

ELSIE M. STOECKEL
of Palatine

A funeral service for Elsie M. Stoeckel, 99, of Palatine, was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 at Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation took place from 10 a.m. until the service. Interment will be at Randhill Park cemetery in Arlington Heights. Ms. Stoeckel was born on April 21, 1907 In Philips Wisc. He had worked for Park Lane Laundry ironing shirts. She died on Jan. 30, 2007 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center in Rockford. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, son Richard, and sister Martha Bogititus. Ms. Stoeckel is survived by her children Alfred (Joyce), Warner (Cheryl) and Roger (Gail), ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and sisters Gertrude Kenyon and Laura Heizler. CAROL TEGEL
of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Carol A. Tegel (nee Chudik), 58, was held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at St. Colette Church. Ms. Tegel was born on Nov. 27, 1948 in Chicago. She died on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at her home. She had worked for High School Dist. 214 as a records clerk for many years. Ms. Tegel was survived by her husband Gabriel, children Michael (Sondra) and Steve (Shari), father Robert, brother Robert Chudik, and sisters Diane (Jim) Daggete and Tricia (Steve) Hall. She was preceded in death by her mother Rosemary Chudik. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Brain Tumor Association are appreciated.

MILDRED R. ZYCH
of Schaumburg

A funeral service for Mildred R. Zych nee Prusinski, 93, took place on Friday, Feb. 2 at St. Julian Eymard Church in Elk Grove Village. Interment will be at St. Adalbert cemetery. Visitation was held at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Mrs. Zych was a loving homemaker and a past president of NALC Auxiliary - Branch 11 of Chicago. She died on Sunday, Jan. 28 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Her husband Henry S. and her daughter Carol Ann Zych preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters Diane H. (James) Schreiner and Eileen R. (Michael) Curtin; her grandchildren U.S. Army Major James H. (Diane) Schreiner, U.S. Air Force Capt. Robert J. (Nicole) Schreiner and Lisa and Michelle Curtin; and her great-grandchildren Anne, Melissa, Katherine and Hayley. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Hospital for Children are appreciated.

MARIE BAKER
Of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Marie J. Baker (nee Loetz), 96, took place Tuesday, Apr. 10, at St. Zachary Church in Des Plaines. Mrs. Baker was born on Feb. 16, 1911, and she died on Wednesday, Apr. 4, in Des Plaines. She was a homemaker and a former member of St. Stephen's Church. Mrs. Baker was survived by her grandchildren as well as 18 great grandchildren and a sister-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, son Richard (Gerry) Baker and daughter Doris (Edward) Brown.

ABEL M. BOLANOS

A funeral service for Abel M. Bolanos, 19, of Rolling Meadows was held on Monday, Apr. 9 at St. Colette Church. Visitation took place on Sunday, Apr. 8 at Meadows Funeral Home. Interment at St. Michael cemetery in Palatine. Mr. Bolanos was a 2005 graduate of Rolling Meadows High School and a sophomore at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He is survived by his parents Abel and Maria and sisters Marivelle (Jacob N. Whitver) and Jasmin X. Bolanos. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Colette Church.

MILDRED LORRAINE "MILLIE" BORG
Formerly of Des Plaines, Mt. Prospect, Arlington Hts.

A memorial mass for Mildred Lorraine "Millie" Borg, formerly of Des Plaines, Mt. Prospect and Arlington Hts., was held Monday, Apr. 9, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Gurnee. Interment at Ridgewood cemetery, Des Plaines. Mrs. Borg was born September 4, 1926 in Chicago. She died Tuesday, Apr. 3 at her home in Grayslake. She worked as manager of the Lingerie Department and in worked in the Bridal registry at Carson Pirie Scott in Mt. Prospect for over 25 years. She was a member of the Mt. Prospect Junior Women's Club, past-president of the PTA, member of the Des Plaines, Mt. Prospect, Arlington Hts. and Grayslake historical societies, member of the Prairie Ridge Quilters Club, The Questers Club and Project Linus. Survivors include children Walter (Sherrie) Borg of Des Plaines, Bruce Borg, Charlotte Beske, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her god-daughter. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Walter H., Jr.

CHARLES F. BRADY
Formerly of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Charles F. Brady, 73, formerly of Park Ridge, will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge. Interment will be at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Mr. Brady was a Korean War Veteran and a retired Lieutenant C.F.D. He passed away on Mar. 23, 2007 at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is preceded in death by his wife Ann. Mr. Brady is survived by his children James, Michael (Cheryl), Nick and Suzanne (Adams) Davis, his seven grandchildren, brothers James (Irma), John (Janet) and Thomas (Kathy) and friend Patricia Ligouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Spina Bifida Association of Illinois, 8765 W. Higgins Rd., Suite 403, Chicago, IL 60631.
