A funeral service for Michael J. Buta, 60, of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Mt. Prospect, was held Saturday, July 7 at Matz Funeral Home. Visitation took place on Friday, July 6 at the funeral home. Interment was at All Saints cemetery. Mr. Buta was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He is preceded in death by his wife Joanne. He is survived by son Michael Jr. (Karen) and siblings Bernie and MaryEllen Buta and Elizabeth Sabatine.

A funeral service for Evelyn V. Henek, 85, of Des Plaines, was held on Saturday, June 7 at St. Juliana Church. Visitation took place Friday at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment was at St. Adalbert cemetery, Ms. Henek was born on Dec. 10, 1921 in Chicago. She worked as a teacher for many years. She passed away on Tuesday, July 3 at the Abington of Glenview. She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore Henek and brother Walter Bogusz. Ms. Henek is survived by her daughters Judy (David) and Barbara (Ed) Ude, parents Frank and Anna (Jurick) Bogusz, grandchildren Laura and Mark Ude and John and William Smolen and sisters Emily (the late Stanley) Walczak and Renata (Walter) Dudek.

A funeral service for Julia H. Herigodt (nee Gladkey) of Des Plaines, 70, was held Tuesday, July 9 at Oehler Funeral Home Des Plaines Chapel in Des Plaines. Visitation was held at the same location prior to the service. Mrs. Herigodt was born on July 20, 1936. She died Saturday, July 7 at her home. She worked in real estate for 30 years and loved to travel. She was the treasurer and past president of the Women in Real Estate Club. She was also a member of the McGill Managmenet Association and a member of the Des Plaines Elks Club #1526. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Ann, Scott T. (Sandra), and Charise L. Delgadillo; four grandchildren; and sister Sandra L. (James) Packard. Mrs. Herigodt was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Gladkey. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The American Lung Association are appreciated.

A funeral service and interment for Dorothy A. Magnuson nee Smith of Arlington Hts., 84, will be private. Ms. Smith was born Apr. 17, 1923 in Chicago. She passed away Monday, July 9 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Hts. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Magnuson, her sister Mildred Ide, and her parents, Bernard and Agnes Smith. She is survived by her sons Donald (Dorothy) and Ronald (Debbie) Magnuson, and her grandsons Ryan and Adam.

A funeral service for Patrick J. McSwiney, 77, of Park Ridge, was held Friday, July 6 at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Visitation took place on Thursday, July 5 at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Interment was at Maryhill cemetery. Mr. McSwiney was a native of Macroom, Co. Cork, Ireland. He died on Monday, July 2, 2007. He is preceded in death by his brother John. Mr. McSwiney is survived by his wife Elizabeth, children Rosaleen McSwiney and Ellen Renna, grandchildren Zachary, Neal and Sarah Renna, brothers Rev. Joseph McSweeney, Daniel, Timothy, Thomas and Peter and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Johanna H. Moderi of Niles, 82, took place Saturday at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at Maryhill cemetery. Mrs. Moderi was born Feb. 3, 1925. She was a teacher in the Chicago Public School System. She was a member of the Meals on Wheels Organization and a friend of the Niles Public Library. She passed away Wednesday, July 4. She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Moderi, and her sister Gertrude (the late John) Sommerer. She is survived by her children Martin (Cynthia) Moderi, Elizabeth (James) Wilbur, William (Christine) Moderi, and Mary Moderi, her grandchildren Jason (Heather) Moderi, Michelle (David) Moderi, Elizabeth Kurpiel, Andrea Kurpiel, Laura Kurpiel, Jeffrey Kurpiel, Jeffrey Wilbur, her great grandson Ryan Mullen, and her sister Erica (the late William) Off. A funeral service for David W. Monroe, 75, will take place today (Wednesday), 7:30 p.m., at Grove Memorial Chapel, with visitation from 3-9 p.m. Interment is private. Mr. Monroe died at his home on Sunday, July 8. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a resident of Elk Grove Village for 33 years.

Mrs. Suwalski was born Jan. 20, 1924. She made her living as a nurse. She died Sunday, July 1 at St. Benedict Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her husband George J. Suwalski and her parents, Frank and Mary (Bezler) Jankowski. She is survived by her children William (Nancy) Suwalski, Timothy (Linda) Suwalski, Susan (Chester) Zablocki, Diane (Frank) Cinardi, Robert (Julie) Suwalski, and Joanne (Thomas) Fledderman, 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Georgia L. Davidsmeyer, 90, of Elk Grove Village, was held on Tuesday, July 3 at Diamond Grave cemetery in Jacksonville, Ill. Visitation was held on Monday, July 2 at Grove Memorial Chapel. Ms. Davidsmeyer was born in Jacksonville, Ill. and was a 46 year resident of Elk Grove. She was the owner and founder of Davidsmeyer Bus Service, Inc. She has been involved with school children transport for Dist. 59 and 214 for many years and was a long time member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Mt. Prospect. She died peacefully at her home on her 90th birthday. She is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Norman H. and brother Walter (The late Velma) Leake. Ms. Davidsmeyer is survived by her daughter Karen A. (Richard D.) Bingham, grandchildren William (Lea Ann) Bingham, Robert (Emily) Bingham and Kimberly Bingham and great-grandchildren Kara and Robbie.

A funeral service for Marianne P. Gillespie, 91, of Des Plaines, was held on Monday, July 2 at St. Stephen Church. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 1 at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment was at All Saints cemetery. Ms. Gillespie had endured many health threats, including overcoming breast cancer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Tiger Woods. She had a witty sense of humor, a wonderful spirit and a polite personality. She passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2007. She is preceded in death by husband Francis "Hank", whom she married
on January 29, 1935, one sister and two brothers. Ms. Gillespie is survived by her children Thomas (Marte), Mary Anne (Elmer) Rossini, Noreen and Daniel Gillespie and Kathleen (Kenneth Sr.) Slama, grandchildren Erin (Craig) Yarwood, Darryl J. "DJ" (Maribeth) Rossini, Michael (Heather) Rossini, Kenneth Jr. and Kerri Slama and Kristen (Johnny Ribar) Slama, great-grandchildren Brendan, Riley and Delaney Yarwood, Alexandria Rossini and Eleanor Rossini and two great-grandchildren on the way.

Mr. Gleeson was born on July 28, 1913 in Danville. He died Tuesday, June 26. He is survived by his children, John W. (Deborah) Gleeson II and Robert T. (Judith); grandchildren, Megan, Max, Elizabeth, Michael, and Robert Gleeson; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Gleeson is preceded in death by his wife, Sue L. (nee Egizi); and three siblings.

She is survived by her children, Erwin (Margaret) Hagemann and Gisele (Gerard) Warner, and grandchildren Lauren Zielke, Robert (Linda) Hagemann, Steven (Kristi) Warner, Sean (Lisa) Warner, Tracy Hagemann, Jenifer (Rance) Barham, and Patricia (Casey) Hames. A funeral service for Kenneth F. Jarocki, 79, took place at Queen of the Rosary Church in Elk Grove Village. Visitation was held at Grove Memorial Chapel. Mr. Jarocki died on Saturday, June 16, at a hospice care center in Brooksville, FL. He was a resident of Spring Hill, FL, but was formerly of Elk Grove Village. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army.

A funeral service for Ingeborg A. Ball of Harvard, Ill., 92, formerly of Des Plaines, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30 at Hultgren Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will be today (Friday) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow service at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace. Ingeborg was born May 28, 1915 in Batavia. She began her career as a certified nursing assistant in Des Plaines. She then worked in Wheaton at Parkway for many years. She retired only two years ago from Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream. She was an active member of the Des Plaines Bible Church and then the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, June 25 at Mercy Hospital in Harvard. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd J. Ball, her second husband, Earle S. Ball, four sisters, Signe Swanson, Charlotte Swanson, Marjorie Mair, and Nancy Shumway, and her brother Everett Stenman. She is survived by her three children, Carna Schroder, Sandra (Leo) Von Busch, and John (Faith) Ball, ten grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and her brother, Arnold (Marion) Stenman. Visitation was held yesterday (Tuesday) at River Woods Funeral Chapels In Des Plaines. Interment will be at Maryhill cemetery. Mrs. Carlson was born on Feb. 10, 1940 in Chicago. She worked as a cashier at the Jewel Foods at Oakton and Milwaukee in Niles for 35 years. She was a talented singer and was a part of the St. Juliana Choir and the Irish American Heritage Singers. She also loved travel and photography. She is preceded in death by her father William Wolski. Mrs. Carlson is survived by her husband Paul G., mother Irene H., children Donna (John) Rogers, Linda Cunningham (Kelly Devlin) and Michael (Constance) Cunningham, step-children Karen Finnander, Sharon Hart, Paul E. Carlson and Susan Pawl and grandchildren T.J. and Jack Rogers.
