A funeral service for Anthony V. Krainik of Des Plaines, 85, was held Thursday, June 21, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Rosemont. Visitation was held prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mr. Krainik was born on July 19, 1921 in Chicago. He died Sunday, June 17 in Park Ridge. He was a machinist at Teletype Corp. He was also a member of Doorman and Dunn VFW Post and a member of St. Paul Cadetes. He is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Utrosa); children, Clifford (Michele), Gerald (Beth), Anthony (Angela), and Colleen (Stanley Sr.) Szpytek; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Krainik was preceded in death by his four siblings. Interment will be held at St. Joseph cemetery in Park Ridge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Frisbee Senior Center or Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.

A funeral service for Charles R. Mueller of Arlington Hts., 80, took place Friday at St. James Church in Arlington Hts. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines. Mr. Mueller was born Dec. 28, 1926. He passed away Tuesday, June 12. He is preceded in death by his dear brother, Frank Mueller. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia M. Mueller nee Coleman, his beloved children Kathleen A. (the late Terry) Tiernan, Charles R. (Margaret), Mary P. Mr. O'Brien was born Mar. 30, 1928 in Chicago. The Marine Corps Veteran worked for the city of Chicago as a construction machinist for many years. He was also a member of the Des Plaines Elks Club 1526 BPOE, Knights of Columbus Queen of All Saints, American Turners, the Stewart Club, and Machinist Local 126. He is preceded in death by his daughter Mary Beth (Michael) Casey. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice nee Bessler O'Brien, his children Kathleen (Patrick) Boyle and Timothy O'Brien, and adoring grandchildren Meggan (Bradley Manson) Boyle, Michael Boyle, Maggie Casey, Michael Casey, Sarah O'Brien, and James O'Brien. A funeral service for Hermina ³Minnie² Reiter of Rolling Meadows, 104, was held Tuesday, June 19 at St. Colette Church. Visitation was held the day before at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Mrs. Reiter was born on Apr. 21, 1903 in Schaffern, Austria. She died on Saturday, June 16 at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. She had worked for the Zenith Radio Corporation as an assembler of radios in the 1920s. She is survived by her daughter, Daisy (the late Robert) Luckey; grandchildren, Anita (Donald) Johnson, Diane (Robert) Meskan, Mark (Helen) Luckey, and Laurie (Mark) Nagel; great grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Meskan, Rachel and Andrew Luckey, Nicole Nagel, and Jessica Johnson. Mrs. Reiter was preceded in death by her husband, Matthias; and daughter, Bette Vallas. Interment was at St. Michael cemetery in Palatine. In lieu of flowers, masses are appreciated.

Helen A Zentek passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007 in Royal Oaks Healthcare Center in Terre Haute, IN. Helen, or Nana as she was known, was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 1, 1914 to Antonia and Michael Kosek who preceded her in death along with her sister Mary Kobylski and brother Walter Kosek. Helen was married
in Chicago on August 22, 1936 to Frank Zentek who also preceded her in death. Helen is survived by their four children, Dan Zentek and wife Barbara of Cass Lake, Minnesota, Judy Weaver and husband Jim of Woodstock, Illinois, Linda Hilbert and husband Vern of Marshall, Illinois, and Dave Zentek and wife Kris of Colorado. Helen is also survived by her ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Helen was an avid traveler and an active and devoted Catholic, a member of Our Lady of Hope Church in Rosemont, Illinois for many years. She loved to swim and dance and enjoyed her family and the many friends she made in several senior clubs and in her church. Cremation is scheduled at DeBaun Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 27th at Our Lady of Hope Church, 9711 West Devon Avenue in Rosemont, Illinois followed by burial at Resurrection cemetery in Justice, Illinois.

She is survived by her mother Shirley M. (nee Summers); father, Robert; siblings, Nancy and Gary (Karen); nephew, Adam Phan; and nieces, Audrey Phan, Elaine and Bernice Zielinski. Lawson Products Founder Dies
The founder of Des Plainesbased Lawson Products died Monday, June 11 after years serving not only as a business owner but as a philanthropist. Services were held yesterday (Thursday) for Sidney Port at North Shore Congregation Israel in Glencoe. He was 96. After Port became a successful businessman, he was reportedly known to donate millions to Chicago and California non-profit organizations. He also reportedly became a top racehorse owner at Arlington Park. Lawson Products was founded in 1952 by Port who wanted to start his own business repairing machine parts. The company is now a multimillion dollar organization that acts as an international seller and distributor of systems, services and products in the industrial, commercial and institutional maintenance, repair and replacement marketplace. The Lawson Products headquarters still sits in Des Plaines on Touhy Avenue near Mannheim Road.

A funeral service for Mary Kay Benson (nee Mate) of Rolling Meadows, 49, was held Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. at St. Colette Church. Visitation was held Friday, June 8 from 3-9 p.m. at the Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Mrs. Benson died Monday, June She had worked as a bus driver for Laidlaw in Mundelein for many years and also was a waitress. She is survived by her children, Tyler, Anthony and Tara Benson; mother, Marylou; brothers, John (Catherine), Daniel, and Russell Kimberly) Mate; and many nieces and nephews. A Requiem Eucharist for Norman Scott Davis, 69, of Arlington Heights, was held on Saturday, June 9 at St. Simon's Episcopal Church Ms. Davis was born on July 19, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After graduating from the University of Iowa, he married
his high school sweetheart Winifred in 1960 and moved to Arlington Heights. He worked in retailing, first with Marshall Fields, then with Sears, where he worked for more than 20 years as a textile buyer. He ended his career as the Vice President in charge of sales at Whiling Manufacturing. After retirement, Davis volunteered for many organizations, including Rotary, Heifer International, Arlington Heights Park District, Arlington Heights Historical Society and Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS). He also held numerous positions at St. Simon's Episcopal, most recently as the director of Lay Eucharistic Ministry. He and his wife were members of the Circumnavigator's Club, where Davis was a board member. He passed away on Monday, June 4 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents Norman Leo (Jack) and Dorthy Louise (Marsh +) Davis and parent-in-law. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife Wendy, sons Scott (Rose), Stuart (Julie), and Chris (Toni), grandchildren Branden, Allison, William, Anna, Rebekah, Jack and Christopher. Memorial contributions to the Scott Davis memorial fund in care of the church. Contributions will be used for church service projects.

A funeral mass for Adolf Andrelczyk, 89, of Des Plaines, was celebrated May 30 in St. Thomas Becket Church, Niles. Interment was in Maryhill cemetery. Arrangements were by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles. A native of Poland, he died May 26 in Holy Family Health Care Center. He worked as a tailor for Marshall Field 's. Surviving are his widow, Natalia (nee Misarko); a son, Mark (Cheryl); grandchildren Christine and Lauren; and siblings Wladyslaw, Bronislaw, Antoni, Jozef, and Dominika. He was preceded in death by a brother, Piotr, and a sister, Feliksa.
