A funeral service for Jane E. Vance (nee Park) of Des Plaines, 51, will be held Saturday, June 2 at noon at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Visitation will be held today (Friday) from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home. Mrs. Vance was born on Sept. 23, 1955 in Chicago. She died Sunday, May 27 at Northwest Community Hospital. She worked as a legal secretary for five years at Winston and Straun in Chicago. She also loved planting flowers, bowling and reading. In addition, she was a past president of the Craig Manor Home Owners Association. She is survived by her husband, Brad P.; children, Jackie Ann, and Jay Philip; father, John (Jan) Park Jr.; mother, Charlotte (Elmer) Rosser; siblings, John (Debbie) Park III, Charles A. (Mary) Park, and Connie F. (Mike) Reed; mother-in-law, Geraldine (late Philip) Vance; sister-in-law, Lisa Kowalski; and eight nieces and nephews. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Leukemia Foundation are appreciated.

ELAINE H. WHITE
A Ph.D. in Caring

A funeral mass for Elaine H. White, 80, was celebrated May 26 in St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, Arlington Hts. Interment was in St. Adalbert cemetery, Niles. Arrangements were by Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., Arlington Hts. A native of Chicago, she died in Arlington Hts. on May 23. Commenting on her homemaker talents, her family said, "She had a doctorate in caring. She was employed since 1945 as a wife and mother. She was happiest spending time caring for and loving her family." Surviving are two daughters, Cherie Kotara of Arlington Hts. and Dawn (Frank J. Santore) White-Santore of Joliet, and grandchildren Jen and Kim Kotara, and Heidi, Kristofer, Nicolle, and Alex White-Santore. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Caroline Jeffers; her husband, Donald F. White; her brothers, Fotis and Christos Zaphiropolous; and her son in law, Jim Kotara. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Hts. ROBERT BOOS
Of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Robert Boos of Park Ridge, 81, was held Friday at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Visitation was held the day before at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Mr. Boos was born on Oct. 4, 1925 in Chicago. He died Friday, May 11 at St. Matthew Center for Health. He was an entrepreneur that own a surplus business. He and his wife traveled extensively. He enjoyed hiking, ³jeeping² and exploring out west. In the winter, he enjoyed skiing. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (nee Ksiazek); children, Carole (David) Lienau, Kenneth (Cynthia), Jeffrey (Catherine), and Bradley (Carol); grandchildren, Colleen (Chinh) Pham, Brian, Michael and Gregory Boos, Barrett and Kyla Boos, Alex and Keith Boos; brother, Richard (Ann), and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Boos was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Helen (nee Kengott). Interment will be held at Montrose cemetery. Memorials may be made to Avenues to Independence in Park Ridge.

ROSEMARY A. FISCHER
Of Mt. Prospect

A Mass for Rosemary A. Fischer (nee Lundstedt), 78, formerly from Chicagoıs Northwest side, was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Emily Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect. Visitation was from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Born June 1, 1928, she died Friday, May 18. Mrs. Fischer was a former member of St. Emıs Gems. She was a retired account executive for the Bank One branch at Western and Devon in Chicago. She was the wife of the late Frank Fischer; mother of Barbara (Keith) Parker, Frank (Angela) Fischer, Paula (Tom) Morris and Cathy (Dave) Fredriksen; grandmother of Erika and Amy Fischer, Samantha Dial and Alec and Chloe Fredriksen; daughter of the late Mary (nee Dlugos) and the late Gustav Lundstedt; sister of Catherine Buric; sister-in-law of Mary Ann Ozzie; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. CHARLES FRITZ
Of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Charles M. Fritz of Park Ridge, 82, was held Thursday, May 17, at St. Maryıs Episcopal Church in Park Ridge. Visitation was held the day before at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home. Mr. Fritz died Monday, May 14 in his home. He was a retired Lt. Commander, U.S.N., of WWII. He attended Field School and Maine High School, where he was an allstate drummer. An avid alum of alma mater, Northwestern University, he followed his Wildcat football team and Band for over 60 years. He also played softball for many years with the Park Ridge Menıs League and was a longtime member and golfer at Park Ridge Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Renee (nee Schert); children, Gail (Dave) Wolfe, Chuck (Kathy), John (Gayle) and Ann (Jim) McFarland; grandchildren, Laura, Brian (Emilee), Kaitlin, Charles III (Amy), Jenny, Mike, Danielle, Casey, Kelly, Kylie, Jimmy, Megan and Allison; great-grandson, Charles IV; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Wandtke. Interment was held at Town of Maine cemetery in Park Ridge. Memorials to the Les Turner-ALS Foundation are appreciated.

JERZY LANIEWSKI
Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Jerzy ³Jerry² Laniewski of Mt. Prospect, 47, was held Tuesday, May 22, at St. Zachary Church in Des Plaines. Visitation was held the day before at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment was conducted at Maryhill cemetery in Niles. Mr. Laniewski was born on June 5, 1968 in Poland. He died Friday, May 18 in Chicago. He was a 20 year owner of Jerry L. Construction located in Chicago. He also loved to fish. He is survived by his wife, Lucy (nee Zalewskia); children, David and Michelle; siblings, Wieslaw (Malgorzata) and Danuta (Wieslaw) Amonowicz; parent, Czeslawa; and four nieces and one nephew. Mr. Laniewski was preceded in death by his other parent, Tadeusz.

MARIAN McCOOL
Of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Marian E. McCool (nee OıBrien) of Rolling Meadows, 85, was held Saturday, May 19, at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Visitation was held the day before. Interment was conducted at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights. Mrs. McCool was born on July 9, 1921. She died Tuesday, May 15 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights She was a cashier at the Osco drugstore in Rolling Meadows for many years. She is survived by her children, Dan, and Susan (John) Engelking; grandchildren, Tanya (Eric) Zukauskas and Justin (Christine) Engelking, great grandchildren, Jonathan and Melanie Engelking and Paige Zukauskas; siblings, Rose (Neil) Damery, Danny OıBrien, and Betty Culberson. Mrs. McCool was preceded in death by her husband, L. Thomas; and brother, Patrick.

GERALDINE McGUIRE
Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral Mass for Geraldine ³Gerri² (nee Ewing) McGuire took place yesterday (Tuesday) at St. Raymond de Penafort Church in Mt. Prospect. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. Gerri was born Dec. 29, 1939 in Joliet to the late Celeste (nee Briscoe) and George F. Ewing. She was a retired nurse at Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines. She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy in Joliet, St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria, Called and Gifted program of the Archdiocese of Chicago and was an extraordinary Minister and Minister of care of St. Raymondıs. Gerri is survived by her husband, Phillip McGuire, her children, Dr. Mary (Dr. Curtis) Hall, Dr. Phillip M. (Terrell) McGuire, Patrick (Katrina) McGuire, Julia (Louis) Coco, Dr. John (Mimi Chang) McGuire and Colette (Timothy) Harkins, and 17 grandchildren.

SHIRLEY MROZIK
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Shirley K. Mrozik (nee Johnson), of Arlington Heights, 73, was held Friday, May 18, at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Entombment was held at Memory Gardens cemetery in Arlington Heights. Mrs. Mrozik was born on June 26, 1933 in Chicago. She died Monday, May 14. She is survived by her husband, Richard W., Sr.; children, Richard W., Jr. (Debra), and Judy (Alan) Born; grandchildren, great granddaughter and siblings. Mrs. Mrozik was preceded in death by her brother, Harold (Rose) Johnson.

IMO F. NEMETZ
Of Des Plaines

A memorial service for Imo F. Nemetz, 97, of Des Plaines, will be held tomorrow (Thursday) at the Lutheran Home of Arlington Heights. Interment will be private. Ms. Nemetz was born in El Paso, Ill. and became a life long resident of Des Plaines. She passed away on May 20, 2007. She is preceded in death by her husband Eric A. Ms. Nemetz is survived by her children Lane (Christel) and Paul and grandchildren Kristy and Jason.

ANTONIO PARENTI
Of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Antonio Parenti, 84, of Park Ridge was held on Monday, May 21 at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Visitation took place on Sunday, May 20 at Cooney Funeral Home. Interment was at St. Joseph cemetery. Mr. Parenti died on Thursday, May 17. He is preceded in death by his wife Lydia nee Pasquini. Mr. Parenti is survived by his children Ronald (Diana), Roseann (James) Chodak, John (Laurie) and Marianne (Sal) Scafidi, grandchildren and sister.

RUTH REDDY
Of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Ruth C. Reddy (nee Earle), 82, took place on Saturday, May 19, at Meadows Funeral Home. Mrs. Reddy was born on Sept. 2, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa. She died on Wednesday, May 16, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove. She was survived by her children Marcia (Ken) Haworth and William (Judith) Reddy, grandchildren Kristen, Melissa and Kenny Haworth, and Krystal and Adam Reddy, and siblings Bobby Earle and Alice (the late Donald) Knight. Mrs. Reddy was preceded in death by her husband William M. and siblings Harry, John, Betty and Susie.

ROBERT SCHULZE
Of Arlington Heights

A funeral service for Robert Schulze of Arlington Heights, 74, was held Monday, May 14, at St. Ednaıs Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Visitation was held the day before at Oehler Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Mr. Schulze was born on Apr. 13, 1933 in Blue Island. He died Wednesday, May 9 at home. He was a teacher and coach for over 30 years at Wheeling High School in Township Dist. 214. He was also a retired Navy Pilot who loved classical music, golf and traveling. He was also involved in the Navy Reunion Squadron VA 145. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. (nee Cox); children, Eric, Kurt and Brett; siblings, Ted (Jeanie), Bill (Joan), Grace Glascock; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Schulze was preceded in death by his brother, Ken (Susan). Interment was private. Memorials to St. Judes Children Hospital or a favorite charity is appreciated.

WAYNE VAESSEN
Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral Mass for Wayne S. Vaessen, 68, will take place today (Wednesday), 10 a.m., at St. Raymond Church. Mr. Vaessen was born on May 8, 1939 in Chicago. He died on Friday, May 18. Mr. Vaessen was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Union Local 150. He enjoyed working with his hands, fishing, the outdoors, woodworking and vintage cars and airplanes. He was survived by his children Dan Vaessen, Connie (Vince) Gibson, Sue McCann and Amy (Mark) Belssner, siblings and 13 grandchildren. Mr. Vaessen was preceded in death by his wife Donna J. Vaessen (nee Herman).

EDWARD WALKER III
Of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Edward M. Walker III of Elk Grove Village, 74, will be held today (Thursday), 8 p.m. at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Mr. Walker was born on June 10, 1932 in Morris, IL. He died Monday, May 14. He had worked as a sheet metal worker for many years. He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Navy. He is survived by his children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Marie and Geraldine Walker.

GWENDOLYN ZIPPARRO
Of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Gwendolyn Zipparro, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at Mary Seat of Wisdom Church. Ms. Zipparro was born May 30, 1921 in Chicago. She was a homemaker for her family. She passed away on May 21, 2007 in Park Ridge. She is preceded in death by her husband Vincent, sister Violet (Wesley) Mosher and parents Kurt and Lillian Adams.

CECILE F. BROSKA
Of Des Plaines

A funeral service and visitation for Cecile F. Broska of Des Plaines, 90, took place Saturday, May 12 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment at St. Adalbert cemetery. Mrs. Broska was born Mar. 10, 1917. The homemaker died Wednesday, May 9. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary nee Galgan Wolanski, and her husband Leo Broska. She is survived by her children, Paul Broska and Lois (the late Robert A.) Giesel, her grandchildren Nora (Bryan) Miller, Audrey Johnson, and her great-grandchildren Hannah and Charlotte.

WALTER CLINTON
Of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Walter S. Clinton of Elk Grove Village, 82, will be held Saturday, May 14, 10 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Church. Mr. Clinton was born in St. Louis, Mo. He died Saturday, May 5 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He was a retired 20 year employee of AMP Corp. of Elk Grove Village as a salesman. He was also a World War II Navy Pilot and Company Commander. He is survived by his children, Dr. Scott W. (Anne), Bridget A. (Jack) Billings and Cheryl M.; grandchildren, Kerry, Megan, Colleen, Daniel, Kathleen Clinton and Emily and Alexandra Billings. Mr. Clinton was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Lee (nee Zurheide). Interment will be held at All Saints cemetery in Des Plaines. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions to the Queen of the Rosary Church are appreciated.

HELEN SZWEDO GLOGOWSKI
Of Niles

A funeral service for Helen Szwedo Glogowski, 93, took place on Friday, May 11, at St. John Brebeuf Church. Mrs. Szwedo Glogowski was born on March 10, 1914 in Calumet City. She died on Monday, May 7, at Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care. She was survived by her daughter Barbara LaPenta, grandchildren Alicia (Mark) Wydra and Jennifer (John) DeGregorio, great grandchildren Jacob and Rebecca DeGregorio, sisters Regina (late Ted) Nagler, Jean (late Leonard Czechowski and late Sam Pinio) and Sophie (late Harry) Frank, brother Edward (Lorraine) Rzendzian, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Szwedo Glogowski was preceded in death by her father Frank Zendzian, mother Elizabeth (nee Dziekonski) Zendzian, husband Walter Szwedo, husband Walter Glogowski, and brother Steven Zendzian.
