A funeral service for George J. Murges of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Park Ridge, 79, was held Tuesday, July 31, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation was held the day before at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home. Mr. Murges was born on July 27, 1927 in Chicago. He died Wednesday, July 25 at his Sarasota home. He graduated from McKinley High School. Upon graduation, he joined the Army Air Corps, serving until the end of World War II. After the war, he attended Wright Junior College. He was a member of the Illinois and Chicago bar associations. He practiced law for over 30 years. He served as President of the Hellenic Bar Association and was a member of the Shriners and the Union League Club. In addition, he was an active member of the Chicago Yacht Club. He is survived by his children, Anne (Leo) Ballentine, Jon (Helen) and Dean (Sharon); grandchildren, Nikki, Stephanie, Ashley and Ella; siblings, Kathleen Contos, Leah (Jack) Bowman, Paul (Angela), William (Susan), James (Irene), and Peter (Blanche). Mr. Murges was preceded in death by his wife, Maria (nee Maroulis), and siblings, Christine Licos and Dino. Interment was held at Elmwood cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Tidewell Hospice are appreciated.

A funeral service for Ingred S. Nyman, 85, of Des Plaines, was held Monday, Aug. 6, at Oehler Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Sunday, Aug. 5, at the funeral home. Burial was at Memory Gardens. Ms. Nyman was born on April, 20, 1922 in Oravais, Finland. She has been a resident of Des Plaines for 20 years and worked as a data entry clerk at Grainger in 1989. She passed away on Aug. 2, 2007. Ms. Nyman is preceded in death by her husband David and brothers Nils and Gunnar Blomqvist. She is survived by her children Rainer (Lyon), Ralph (Eileen), Roger (Helen), Lois (Richard) Spafford and David (Kathleen), grandchildren Elizabeth and Michael Nyman, Dan (Lynne) Smaczny, Denise Smaczny, Matthew, Erik and Kara Spafford and Steven and Kellie Nyman and siblings Erik (Kirsten) Blomqvist, Sven (Lillian) Blomqvist and Doris (Gustav) Sundstrom. A funeral service for Samuel Vala of Niles, 75, was held Tuesday, Aug. 7, at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held the day before at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Mr. Vala was born on May 22, 1932 in Newark, NJ. He died Tuesday, July 31 at Lutheran General Hospital. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He also worked at a bank. He is survived by his wife, Rose (nee Messina); son, Vincent; step-children, Rita (Stewart) Heuel-Cohen, Diane Heuel, Michael A. Heuel; grandchildren, Brenden and Brant Cohen; siblings, Martha Hines, Mary Calaghan, Ruthie Vala and Flavin Vala; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Vala was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Dean; and parents, Alberto and Maria (nee Stuppiello). Interment was held at All Saints cemetery. A memorial gathering for Richard (Dick) Louis Wellhausen of Rolling Meadows, 73, was held Thursday, Aug. 2 at Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Wellhausen was born in Chicago. He died Monday, July 30 at Northwest Community Hospital. He had his first paper route at eight years old. He served as an MP stationed in West Germany from 1956-58. After returning home, he joined the Arlington Heights Fire Department, where he served 20 years, planned the fireman's annual carnivals and picnics. After retirement, he then started his own taxicab company, Arlington Village Cab. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and sister.

Mrs. Chaney died on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007. Her father, Robert Daley, preceded her in death. Her husband Willard Chaney, her son Jason, her mother Mary Agnes nee Quinn, and her sister Margaret Daly survive her.

A funeral Mass for Robert DeBreau, 79, took place on Monday, Sept. 17 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Des Plaines. Interment was private. Visitation was on Sunday, Sept. 16 at G. L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mr. DeBreau was born on May 23, 1928 in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a truck driver. He died on Thursday, Sept. 13, in Gurnee. His wife of 46 years, Miriam (nee Marum), and his brother Charles Ebert preceded him in death. His sons Kenneth (Patricia) DeBreau and Thomas DeBreau and his grandchildren John and Michael DeBreau survive him.

He was the former CFO for the Mayfair Molding Products Company for many years. He is survived by his children, Albert F. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 9, at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Mr. Huff was born on Nov. 3, 1931 in Chicago. He served in the Marine Corps and was a partner with an insurance company in Des Plaines for many years. He was also a charter member of the Congregational United Church of Christ. He died on Sept. 6, 2007 at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke Medical Center in Chicago. His son Andrew and his siblings Irene Drumm, Harriete Wells, and Edward Huff preceded him in death. Mrs. Krzyzanowski was born on Nov. 27, 1922. She worked as a cashier and was a former member of the Filharmonia Choir. She died on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 at Regency Nursing Home. Her husband Eugene, her parents Walter and Anna (nee Palac) Krawczyk, and her brother Edward (Dolores) Krawczyk preceded her in death. Her sister Helen (Steve) Wilczynski, her son Gene (Karen) Krzyzanowski, her grandchild Sean Krzyzanowski, her three step-grandchildren, her brother-in-law Stanley Krzyzanowski, and many nieces and nephews survive her.

He was born on July 6, 1946 in Palatine. He passed away Friday, Sept. 7 at his home. He had worked as a butcher for Dominickšs for many years. He also served in the Army and was a member of the Palatine American Legion Post 690. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion and the Meat Cutters Union. He is survived by his son, William C.; siblings, Fredrick and Cathy Lauterburg; many nieces and nephews; and special partner, Sandra Poczatek. He died on Sunday, Sept. 16, at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Army Corps.

Prospect for over 50 years. She passed away on Sept. 13, 2007 at her home. She is preceded in death by her husband John T. Mellen, brothers and sisters Eloise Hughes, Bonnie Ashmorre, Waldine Young and Helen Miller and parents Hattie and Taylor Young.
