Salvatore 'Sam' Esposito

Salvatore "Sam" Esposito, 69, of Naperville died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at home. He was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Chicago.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Marciniak) Esposito; two children, Gennevive (husband Boyd) Buck and John (wife Lisa); five stepchildren, Michelle (husband Ian) Johnson, Steven (wife Julie) Marciniak, Melissa (husband Robert) Wis, Milenda (husband Grant) Haggard and Ron Marciniak; 16 grandchildren; eight siblings, Antoinette Magnini, Frances Platek, Theresa (husband Frank) Napolitano, John (wife Marlene), Gennevive Trioani, James (wife Kathy), Anna LaSpina and Joseph (wife Patricia); and many nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy (Schlavone) Esposito; and three brothers-in-law, Carl Magnini, Gregory Platek and Vince LaSpina.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 26, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville.

A funeral service will begin at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at the funeral home and proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1450 Green Trails Drive in Naperville.

Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to CNS Hospice, 690 E. North Ave., Carol Stream, IL 60188.

B. Dare Border Gumprecht

B. Dare Border Gumprecht, 83, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away at her home Wednesday, March 31, 2004. She was born June 2, 1920, in Bozeman, Mont.

She attended school, worked and met her husband, Roland, in Bozeman. They married in Charleston, S.C., before he went overseas to serve in World War II.

She was a homemaker and the founding member of Prairie Shufflers Square Dancing Club of Richland, Wash., and was past president of PTA, Richland Garden Club and Bridge Club. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, formerly of Naperville, Third Ward, and presently of Zionsville Ward, 10710 Shelborne Road, Carmel, Ind.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Roland O. Gumprecht; three daughters, Linda D. (husband Doug) Head, Virginia Gumprecht and Nancy K. (husband Stuart) Yeager; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jerry R. Border.

A funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the Zionsville Ward. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Sunset Hills cemetery in Bozeman.

Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Carmel handled arrangements.

Mark C. Hanson

Mark C. Hanson, 44, of Naperville died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born May 24, 1959, in Chicago.

He was a 1977 graduate of Lisle Senior High School and a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and John Marshall Law School. He was a lawyer and partner at Williams and Marcus Ltd. in Chicago. He was elected committeeman for the Naperville Township Democratic organization. He coached baseball and soccer with the Naperville Park District.

He is survived by his wife, Pam; two children, Carly and Samuel; his mother, Jean; five siblings, Karen (husband Bruce) Hyland, Amy (husband Corky) Akins, Kurt (wife Colleen), Kristin Ostarello and Randi (husband Larry) Olson; and nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell; and his father, Herman.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, Route 53 and Short Street, Lisle.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Hanson children.

Margaret M. Heyl

Margaret Mary (Fagan) Heyl, 66, of Naperville and formerly of Peoria and Joliet, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, is handling arrangements. Call (630) 355-0213.

Richard W. Hough II

Richard W. Hough II, 57, a former resident of Naperville, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2004, at his home in Inman, S.C., after a short battle with terminal cancer. He was born Aug. 24, 1946, to the late R.W. Hough and late Mary Catherine (Wirt) Hough, in Syracuse, N.Y.

Known to most as "Bill," he worked for International Truck and Engine for 35 years.

He leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Diane Hough, in Inman, S.C; his daughter, Terese L. (husband Jim S.) Jones; his son, David W. Hough of Aurora; his granddaughter, Kelsey Catherine Jones; and his sister, Mary Catherine Hough of Palatine.

He will always be remembered for his love of family and friends, his laughter and his great ability to mentor those he cared for most.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Wheatland Salem Methodist Church, Book Road and 95th Street, Naperville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301.

Erin J. Justice

Erin Jenea Justice, 16, of Aurora died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at her home. She was born March 1, 1988, in Joliet. Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, is handling arrangements. Call (630) 355-0213.

Lydia M. Edelmann

Lydia M. Edelmann, 88, a former resident of Chicago, Wood Dale and Vero Beach, Fla., died Friday, March 26, 2004, at her son's home in Libertyville. She was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Leitmeritz, Germany.

Mrs. Edelmann grew up in Germany and came to the United States in 1956. She was employed for over 25 years by Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago.

She is survived by two children, Klaus (wife Maria) Walin of Libertyville and Joanne (husband Matthew) Wind of Naperville; five grandchildren, John (wife Ann) Walin of Mundelein, Mark (wife Michelle) Walin of Columbus, Ohio, Arlene (husband Michael) Petrunich of Westborough, Mass., Kristine (husband Michael) Hartman of Woodbury, Minn., and Matthew (wife Christine) Wind of Glen Ellyn; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Josef Edelmann; and her parents, Rombald and Antonia Von Hochimfels.

Visitation will take place from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. William O'Shea officiating.

Inurnment will take place at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights at a later date.

Lydia M. Edelmann

John O. Loughran

John O. Loughran, 63, a 15-year resident of Naperville, died suddenly Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born March 27, 1941, in Philadelphia.

He had worked in the gift import business for more than 30 years, and his reputation and ethic was well-respected throughout the United States. He also had a very keen sense of humor and will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Maureen (Hartnett) Loughran; two wonderful children, Bryan Loughran of Naperville and Amy (husband Patrick) Kaniff of Chicago; and a sister, Claire Loughran of Marlton, N.J.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Leo and Anna Loughran.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville. The Rev. Dennis Paul will officiate.

It is his family's wish that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to the American Heart Association, 208 S. LaSalle St., Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60604.

Lorraine H. McDougall

Lorraine H. McDougall, 86, of Friendship Village, Schaumburg, and formerly of Naperville from 1973 to 2001, died Sunday, March 28, 2004. Service and interment were private. Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, handled arrangements.

Margaret Mary 'Peg' Heyl

Margaret Mary "Peg" (Fagan) Heyl, 66, a resident of Naperville for 15 years, and formerly of Peoria and Joliet, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Edward Hospital, Naperville. She was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Peoria.

Mrs. Heyl grew up in Peoria and was a graduate of the Academy of Our Lady High School and Bradley University, where she received her degree in education. Along with her full-time homemaking duties, she taught school in Peoria and Joliet and worked as a freelance writer, publishing several articles and short stories. She was a member of St. Raphael Church, Naperville, and was formerly an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and Holy Family Parish, both in Joliet. She enjoyed traveling, especially to her second home in County Mayo, Ireland, and loved to play Scrabble and canasta.

She is survived by her husband, Richard F. Heyl; 10 children, Mary (husband Mark) Towler, John Heyl, Carlos Heyl, Ann (husband David) Hicks, Paul (wife Angie) Heyl, Joseph (wife Beth) Heyl, Jane (husband Scott) Walker, James Heyl, Peter Heyl and Carolyn Heyl; 14 grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Towler, Sydney Ann Heyl, Anastagia Hicks, William, Allie and Sammy Heyl, Abby McKay, Ryan and Connor Walker, Darrell, Terrell and Quantrell Taylor and Megan Korea Davis; a sister, Patricia Reid; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Heyl; her parents, Francis and Theresa Fagan; and a brother, the Rev. John Fagan.

Visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

A service will begin at 9:15 a.m. Monday, March 29, at the funeral home and proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville.

Interment will be at SS Peter and Paul cemetery in Naperville.

Dorothy M. Papierowicz

Dorothy Marie Bisaha Papierowicz, 78, a resident of Fords, N.J., for 45 years, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, N.J. She was born in Perth Amboy, N.J.

She was employed as a bookkeeper for C.M. Peterson Coal & Oil Co. for eight years before retiring in 1951. She was a member of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary RC Church in Hopelawn.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Edward J. Papierowicz; two daughters, Carol (husband Robert) Thomson of Middletown, and Janet (husband Bruce) Turcotte of Fords; two sons, Joseph (wife Donna Marie) Pierson of Naperville, and Edward of Somerset; one sister, Josephine Kowalczyk of Somerville; one brother, Martin Bisaha of New Mexico; six grandchildren, Michael, Brian and Catherine Turcotte, Eric Thomson, and Christopher and Caroline Pierson; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Mitruska Funeral Home, 531 New Brunswick Ave., Fords, N.J.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 7, at a time to be announced by the Mitruska Funeral Home, followed by a Mass in the Most Holy Rosary Church in Hopelawn.

Interment will be at the Holy Trinity cemetery in Hopelawn.

Jean M. Pearson

Jean Margaret Pearson, 80, of Naperville died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Meadowbrook Manor in Naperville. She was born March 7, 1924, in Chicago, and lived in Downers Grove from 1957 to 2001.

She worked at Argonne National Laboratories for 23 years as a certified professional secretary. She had also worked at the First National Bank in Chicago and for five years at Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, in the math department, retiring in 1980. Before coming to Naperville, she had been an active member, especially with the choir and senior group, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Downers Grove. She loved to play golf.

She is survived by a sister, Mae Louise Frutchey of Naperville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Hulda (Carlson) Pearson.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 815 S. Washington St., Naperville.

Interment will be at Oak Hill cemetery, Chicago.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 4501 Main St., Downers Grove, IL 60515.
