Katherine M. Ellis

Katherine M. Ellis, 93, a resident of Naperville and previously a longtime resident of Homewood, died peacefully Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Community Nursing Center in Naperville. She was born June 28, 1911, in Mississippi.

She is survived by two sons, George (wife Katherine) Parenti and Robert (wife Michelle) Parenti; a daughter, Elsie Parenti; two grandchildren, Greg (wife Debra) Massick and Laura (husband Jim) Adams; and four great-grandchildren, Dusten, Tyler, Connor and Chase Adams.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Ellis.

Visitation will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the funeral home and proceed to a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.

Interment will take place at Assumption cemetery in Glenwood.

Rita Brady

Rita (Simmons) Brady, 65, of Downers Grove died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Toon Funeral Home in Downers Grove is handling arrangements. Call (630) 968-0408.

Stanley W. Kochniarczyk

Stanley W. Kochniarczyk, 68, of Chicago died Tuesday, July 27, 2004. He was born March 21, 1936. Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, is handling arrangements. Call (630) 355-0213.

Shu-Fen Chen

Shu-Fen Chen, 42, a three-year resident of Naperville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, due to an automobile accident.

Shu-Fen, a devoted daughter of Mao-Sung Chen and Ming-Huan Lee Chen, was born Sept. 12, 1961, in Tainan, Taiwan. She was the loving wife of 16 years to Shu-Chieh Hu and the beloved mother of Jenny and Jonathan.

Graduating from Chung-Kung Nursing Institute in Lin Ko, Taiwan, with a bachelor's degree in nursing, she devoted her time to serving the nursing community. She worked as a registered nurse in Taiwan and North Carolina before transferring to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora for the past two years.

With a vivid and energetic spirit, she lived life to the fullest and brought cheerfulness and happiness to everyone around her. On account of her willingness to aid others, she enjoyed working as a professional nurse. Additionally, she enjoyed socializing with her family and friends. Undoubtedly, her presence will be thoroughly missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Chinese Christian Mandarin Church, 9S565 Clarendon Hills Road, Willowbrook.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the education of Shu-Fen's children.

Elizabeth 'Betty' Ciambrone

Elizabeth "Betty" Ciambrone, 80, of Naperville died Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at her home. She was born June 14, 1924, in Rock Island.

She was a graduate of Rock Island High School, class of 1942. Prior to marriage, she worked as a quantitative analyst in the chemistry lab for John Deere and Co. in Moline. She had been a Naperville resident since 1959. Betty was a volunteer for the Edward Hospital Women's Auxiliary for 26 years, was a past president of the auxiliary, served on the Edward Hospital board for six years, was named Volunteer of the Year in 1973 at Edward and was a home and school volunteer. She was an avid bridge player and held the rating of Silver Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Church in Naperville.

Survivors include three children, Eli Ciambrone (husband John Trigilio), Anne (husband John) Sullivan and Steven Ciambrone; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Jake and Jordan Trigilio, Erin and Michael Sullivan, Alicia and Evan Ciambrone and Jason (wife Sally) Egan. Also surviving are a brother, Pat (wife Sharon) Schneider; a cousin, Mrs. E.T. Boynton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John; a son, John Jeffrey; and her parents, George and Elizabeth Schneider.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 12, at SS Peter and Paul Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.

Interment will be private.

Mildred R. LaBash

Mildred R. LaBash, 93, of Meadville, Pa., and formerly of the Aurora/Naperville area, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Meadville Medical Center. She was born March 13, 1911, in Chicago.

She is survived by four daughters, Jacqueline (husband Daniel) Brady of Bonita, Springs, Fla., Lois Swanston (husband Aidan) Stephens of Aurora, Yvonne (husband Eddie) Burkey of Meadville and Lynne (husband James) Bramlett of Princeton, N.J.; a former son-in-law, William Swanston of Westmont; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John J. LaBash; two infant sons, Eugene and Francis; her parents, Frank and Theresa Cejka; and three sisters, Marie, Otilia and Ann.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 23, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 801 S. Eola Road, Aurora.

Interment will follow at SS Peter and Paul cemetery in Naperville.

Memorials may be directed to Chesapeake Services System, 1100 Executive Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23320, providing quality of life to individuals with severe disabilities.

Doris E. Cisketti

Doris E. Cisketti, 85, of Naperville and formerly of Sterling, died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at ManorCare in Naperville, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born Dec. 7, 1918, in Sullivan, Ind., the daughter of Benjamin Thurman and Jessie (Weathers) Cox.

She married Ralph Joseph Cisketti Sr. on July 29, 1940, in Clinton, Iowa. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sterling.

Survivors include a son, Ralph J. Cisketti Jr. of Muscatine, Iowa; two daughters, Kathryn (husband Lawrence) Gaskill of Dixon and Carol (husband Randy) Cherry of Aurora; eight grandchildren, David, Eric and Marci Cisketti, Joseph, Matthew and Jennifer Gaskill, and Daniel and Kimberly Cherry; a great-grandchild, Sabrina Cisketti; a brother, Jack (wife Deborah) Cox of Watertown, N.Y.; and a sister, Dorothy (husband Delmar) Beight of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 12, 1991, and by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Schilling Funeral Home, 702 First Ave., Sterling.

A service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, at the funeral home. The Rev. Scott Wade of First Church of the Nazarene will officiate.

Burial will be at the Riverside cemetery in Sterling.

A memorial has been established to Heartland Hospice.

Diane Mary Lego

Diane Mary (Condon) Lego, 59, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004, at her residence in Naperville. She had been a former resident of Woodridge.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (husband Richard) Reamer; three grandchildren, Anthony, Allison and Nicholas; two brothers, Michael Condon and Patrick (wife Patricia) Condon; and her former husband, Andrew Lego.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Jeanette Condon, and two brothers, Timothy and Dennis Condon.

At the family's request, services are private.

Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Drive, Romeoville, handled arrangements.

Lois M. Regel

Lois M. Regel, a resident of Walnut Creek, Calif., and a 37-year resident of Glen Ellyn, died Friday, July 9, 2004, in Walnut Creek at the age of 75.

She was born Lois Marie Goodspeed on Jan. 18, 1929, in Chicago and was a 1947 graduate of Morton High School in Cicero. Prior to her retirement in 1994, she worked as an executive secretary for the Amoco Chemicals Division of Amoco Research Labs in Naperville for 18 years. She was a member of Wheaton Bible Church and the Tree Town Garden Guild of Elmhurst. She was a longtime volunteer with Love Letters, a charitable organization in Lombard that sends messages of love and hope to medically disabled children. She recently moved to Walnut Creek to be near family and to enjoy the mild weather and golden hills she had come to love. All who knew her were truly blessed by her great faith, friendship, humor and loving spirit.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice L. Podoll of Concord, Calif., and Jacqueline J. McCarthy of St. Charles; sons-in-law Todd J. Podoll and James J. McCarthy; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, July 14, at Calvary Baptist Church in Lafayette, Calif., with Dr. Perry Griffith officiating. Her final resting place is Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette.

All who want to honor Lois in a celebration of her life are invited to attend a memorial service for her at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, in the chapel of Wheaton Bible Church, Main Street at Franklin, Wheaton. Call (630) 260-1600.

Because she considered her charitable work a labor of love, her family is requesting donations made in her name be directed to Love Letters, P.O. Box 416875, Chicago, IL 60641.

Libero L. Magi

Libero Leo Magi, 92, a four-year resident of Naperville and formerly of Florida, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at ManorCare of Naperville. He was born Nov. 2, 1911, in East Canaan, Conn.

He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II in the Pacific theater.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Chesela (Albertazzi) Magi; his loving daughter, Carol (husband Richard) Krey of Naperville; his wonderful grandchildren, Jack (wife Vicki) Mener of Naperville, Christine (husband Marc) Smith of Cary and Kevin (wife Terra) Mener of Twin Lakes, Wis.; and his special great-grandchildren, Kyle and Amanda Mener, Makena and Trevor Smith, and Curtis Mener.

He was preceded in death by his devoted son-in-law, Jack Mener Sr.; his parents; four brothers; and a sister.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church's chapel, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

Family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at the chapel.

Interment will follow at SS Peter and Paul cemetery in Naperville.

Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of one's choice.

Stella R. Renaud

Stella R. (Prombo) Renaud, 96, of Lisle, passed away Friday, July 23, 2004, at Snow Valley Center in Lisle. She was born Sept. 20, 1907, in Morris.

Stella is survived by her loving children, Barbara (husband Claude) Viasz and David (wife Janice) Renaud; her grandchildren, Michael and Laura Renaud; and her brother, Tony (wife Marjorie) Prombo; as well as many devoted nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Renaud.

Stella had been a member of St. Rita's Parish in Aurora since 1938. She graduated from the St. Charles School of Nursing in 1930 and was a member of the Nurses Alumni Association from 1930 until 1985. Prior to living in Lisle, she was a resident of Aurora from 1927 until 1997.

She will be remembered for her patience, her sense of humor, her religious convictions and her smile.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Rita of Cascia Church, 750 Old Indian Trail, Aurora, IL 60506.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.

Family and friends will gather at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church in Aurora for a Mass of Christian burial.

Interment will follow at Lincoln Memorial cemetery in Aurora.

Patricia J. Craft

Patricia J. Craft, 79, of Naperville and formerly of Oak Park and Lombard, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at her home. She was born Nov. 6, 1924.

She had been an office manager in the automotive field.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and a son, Donald.

Visitation will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Hursen Funeral Home, 4001 W. Roosevelt Road, Hillside.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 30, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.
